Georgia has not lost a football game to Mississippi State since 1974. Georgia has not lost in Starkville, Miss., since 1951.
But as of Wednesday night most Vegas sports books had Mississippi State as a 1-point favorite over Georgia in Saturday’s game in Starkville.
These are strange times, indeed, in UGA football.
As you know all too well, Georgia lost at South Carolina for the first time in 10 years and lost to Arkansas for the first time in 17 years and is 0-2 in the SEC for the first time in 17 years.
The next streak on the line is Georgia’s nine consecutive victories over Mississippi State. That streak dates to a 38-14 UGA loss in 1974 in Jackson, Miss.
The schools have played only 21 times in football despite both being charter members of the SEC. They have met only twice since 1997. Georgia leads the series 16-5.
Georgia’s all-time record in Starkville is 4-1, the lone loss a 6-0 defeat in 1951. Georgia won in Starkville in 1982, 1988, 1996 and 2005.
The teams also played three times in Jackson, most recently in 1974. Georgia was 1-2 in those games.

You jackassed jackets blogs are pathetic. Acknowledge it. You know it is true. The good news is; you have ALOT of room to grow up.. I doubt if any of you “jackass” models ever even went to GT! Same goes for our obnoxious UGA fans. So, I guess it balances out in the end.

Dave in Vinings, Which program do you think is worthy of your support? You’ll be very surprised …. I dare you to anser this question quickly before you have time to run and do a bunch of in-depth analysis. Face it dude — you’re just completely fried by the fact that Tech can never beat the Dawgs.

CMR is torn between 2 loves, coaching/mentoring young men and the mission field. WM should have been cut loose as well as Bobo at the beginning of this tail spin we are in. Bring back the passion and fire to give 100% on and off the field in the coaching and staff and it will infect the team too. We have always had the talent to compete for the sec east and more times than not for the sec title. I believe The coaching is to blame. Why? Under developed talent (ex. stafford), Poor play calling, Lack of discipline on/off field resulting in crime and penalties. When did richt hand over all the play calling to bobo? 5 or so yrs ago?

I visited Athens the last time we (Miss. State) played there. I was delighted at the hospitality of the UGA fans. You guys were really good host other than the whipping your Bulldogs put on ours. Anyway…I tried to return that favor tonight in Starkville. I was also pleasantly suprised by South Carolina fans in Columbia. I will be damned before I ever visit Gainsville again as well as Baton Rouge. Rudest bunch of jackasses in the SEC. I won’t even get started on Ole Miss. The only thing that makes going to Oxford tolerable is we beat them about as much as they beat us. Anyway… I’m rambling. Good game tonight UGA and I for one hope we were as kind to your fans as ya’ll were to ours. I look forward to visiting Athens again one day. Hopefully it won’t be another 34 years before we beat you guys again.

I am a TRUE Dawg Fan. Win or lose, I would still support the Dawgs. But I must say that Coach Richt had better get a lot more assertive with his players, and coaching staff. He has to get very tough on the Coaches, and the players as well. As mush as I am a rivalry with Steve Spurrier, (being anywhere, and playing against the Dawgs) I have to admit that Coach Steve Spurrier make champions out of his players. He also has absolutely no tact when it comes to his players, and his coaching staff. If there is something wrong with either of them, he will definitely make it known to them, and to the public. Last night, against Auburn, he took out Garcia (Quarterback) and benched him. In Garcia’s replacement, he put in a freshman quarterback without any hesitation. You see, Coach Steve Spurrier, says what he means, and he mean what he says. Being quiet, and passive with your players, and coaching staff without holding each, and everyone them accountable for their actions, and performance, is unacceptable, and it will get you in the hot seat to be fired. Coach Richt appears as if he does not have control of his players, and the entire team. Coach Mark Richt had better wake up, and get total control of his players, and coaching staff. If the players are not performing up to his potential, Coach Mark Richt have a duty, and a responsibility as a Head Football Coach to bench that player. If your Offensive Coordinator is not performing to your standards, and the team is not responding well to the play calling, then you need to take over the play calling, and terminate the Offensive Coordinator. The time is now Coach Mark Richt to take control of your team before your team, and coaching staff take control of you. Food For Thought.

While Georgia was losing its third game in a row, I had several thoughts:
Mark Richt has had better years, but has never won anything. Now this?
I wondered how long it will take before Georgia beats a Steve Spurrier led South Carolina?
Bobby Pettino has proven to be a great college coach, and wondered if Georgia had him as a coach, would Georgia fans appreciate him?
