ATHENS – Georgia players are well aware of how their 0-2 SEC record is being received and reviewed by some fans and fellow students.
“Yeah, it’s different [on campus],” offensive tackle Josh Davis said Tuesday. “You don’t see as much of the love as you used to when you won a couple of games. But that’s to be expected; nobody wants to go to a university where the football team isn’t doing well at the time.
“We have great fans,” Davis said, “and they’re not used to losing like this. We’re not used to losing like this. . . . All we have to do is come out and win games, and everybody will be happy then. . . . I’ve heard things, but you got to take it with a grain of salt. It’s not [the fans'] fault we lost games; it’s our fault we lost games.”
When a reporter prefaced a question with the observation that fans aren’t happy with the team’s start, coach Mark Richt replied: “They’re not? Neither am I. Neither is my mom, I can tell you that.”
As for how the team is dealing mentally with the 0-2 SEC start, Richt said: “Everybody showed up at work, and we worked. That’s all we can ask right now. . . . I’m not really even worried how they feel right now. I’m more worried about how they work. If they are in a good mood and they work hard, or if they are in a bad mood and work hard, I don’t really care right now. As we get closer to the game, we’ll kind of work on the emotional part.”
Wide receiver Tavarres King said the team’s emotional state is fine. “Everyone is still upbeat,” he said. “No one is down. . . . There’s a lot of football left to play and a lot left to be said.”
Said wide receiver Kris Durham: “It’s disappointing, frustrating, whatever adjective you want to throw at it. It is. It’s not what we had pictured. It’s not what we had dreamed. But it is what has happened, and we have to take what’s positive out of it.”

We are mid level SEC at best now.
Saban has Alabama in another Universe.
Florida will play Bama for the SEC title, again.
Top recruits, who want to play for championships are realizing Richt is not what everyone thought he was. More and more will go elsewhere.
Crowell will go to Bama and play for the NT several times in his career. Who could blame him??
Richt will be gone in a few years and be replaced by someone who will maintain the “middle of the pack” trend for UGA. Even though UGA makes top 5 money and could hire a bigtime coach, Adams will not hire someone that might overshadow him.
We’re stuck in the middle and likely to remain there for the foreseeable future.
It sucks.

Only in today’s world do people think finishing second builds hope. Winning is what matters. Please don’t give excuses at a program like Georgia. Go become a Mississippi fan if you want to settle for anything less.

I’ve heard some stupid comments before, but nothing as bad as Josh Davis’s comment (”nobody wants to go to a university where the football team isn’t doing well at the time”). Wow. Are all of the UGA football players this ignorant and arrogant? Newsflash moron — the VAST majority of students at ANY legitimate University COULD CARE LESS what the football team does!!! They are there because they want to have a sucessful career and life — not because of what some immature little kids (and keep it in perspective folks — ALL college players are KIDS!) do on a field to entertain the trailer park – dwelling, drunken masses!! I suppose there are those who would choose a school based on how they perform athletically, but unless you are a TOTAL moron, who will party your way right out of school within the first few semesters, that is totally irrelevant. Mr. Davis — are you really so ignorant as to believe that ANYONE will even remember who you are 1 or 2 years from now? Or that anyone involved with the program at an SEC football factory actually gives a damn what happens to you once your eligibility is used up? Or that anyone can tell you what the record was for their colleges team in any given year that they attended? Of course not, because your football program is TOTALLY IRRELEVANT to the people living in the real world. Methinks Mr. Davis is still mentally in Junior-High school, but I suppose that would be about average for a typical UGA player!!!

Good news bad news…. good news is we have been beaten by 2 up and coming teams. SC is on the rise and so is Arkansas. The sad reality to that is we are on the decline and that is hard to swallow for sure.
Had hoped for better and now the schedule, which looked favorable, now looks tough to overcome. Vandy is no longer candy, Auburn has their groove on, Florida has a psychological edge over us and Mrs. State looks like they will be a tough team to beat. Another potential up and coming team. Where is Colorado?

No matter how glamorous the team is at some point you have to measure by resuts. Our results are concerning for sure.
I see us kicking in gear and winning out and I also see winning only a few of the remaining games. Don’t know which way this will go.
Go DAWGS.

Georgia is a good team. We have an overinflated image of our O-Line . Our play calling is as predictable as a Pop Warner team. We have a good head coach and even better players. Don’t give up fans, we can still save this season. Go Dawgs

We lose to SC on their turf and them this year with talent for a change…ok, suck it up. THEN, we lost at home in the last minute of the game against a Heisman candidate and the 10th ranked team in the country….deal with it. Here is the deal, we could have won both of those games with AJ Green in the lineup, but…he’s not in the lineup is he? He got himself suspended for the first 4 games of the year. I say, expel AJ for screwing up the team this year and for the huge distraction surrounding his boneheaded move. AJ, you dont deserve the silver platter for screwing up the team, the morale, the season and now the perception of this organization nationwide. Go some place else, go to the NFL, just go.

Richt coaches in a state with an extremely fertile recruiting base consisting of majority of kids who have favored georgia entire life. Only in stateschool they need to compete against enjoys least favoritestatus among the populace. As befitting most long time powers Georgia plays a schedule dotted with at least 2 and often times 3 gimmes and Vandy and Kentucky–2 schools Florida last lost to in 1986. Therefore we arelooking at what should be 5 sure wins so if he goes 4-3 against the rest of the scheule we will have Phi Beta Kappas saying “The man wins 9 games a year so how can you question him?” I do believe this is the type of insanity that will lead to it being another 30 years before we hold that nice crystal recently won by Florida. LSU and Alabama. BUT we don’t carebecause marky Mark has a very good winning percentage. LetCaldwell,Mullen and about60 others coach under these circumstances and check out records.
Also name another college power that has been collectively owned by its chief rival with the coach lasting this long? HELL, the man was 1-2 againstRon Zook and barely managed to squeak out a win against Florida’s worst team of this decade.

All of you red necks get over it. The Dawgs are out of the SEC East, The Championship game and any BCS bowl game. It is over for this year! Maybe next year. Georgia needs to get out of the SEC and join the ACC where they have doormats like Duke and Wake to play along with their other gimmes they schedule every year. They are not listed in any poll and won’t be this year. MSU will kick their asses and deafen them with cowbells. What a beautiful way to go into fall-watching and hearing all this squalling from the rednecks.

You don’t see as much of the love when the perception is that you underachieve relative to your talent level. Also, when legit questions can be raised about your heart (Florida last two years, Tennessee game, etc.). Contrary to popular perception, college football fans can handle losing to better teams, what they can’t handle are beatdowns (UF and Tenn.) and sloppy losses to inferior opponents (Kentucky, Vandy, South Carolina, and Tenn.). Richt’s teams have been serving up large doses of both since the end of the ‘05 season.

Most of the negative comments towards Georgia and CMR come from Tech fans posing as disgruntled UGA fans. I hate the Tech posers that come on UGA blogs.
I hope McGarrity drops Tech from our schedule like second period french. We could pick up Clemson or Notre Dame or FSU every year earlier in the schedule and play one of our SEC games like Kentucky as the last game of the year.
We might not win as many against Clemson, FSU, or Notre Dame as we win against Tech, but those schools’ people have a lot more class than the Tech haters, you know – the Wanna Bees.
And it would cut into the GTAA revenue so deeply that they would probably start running financial deficits (again).
So what do you think Dawg fans?
Would all of you other real Dawg fans out there like to dropkick Tech off the schedule and be done with their smart mouth arses?
After all, they have always needed us for their program and we do not need them.

Maybe CMR should let AJ ride the bench another game or two to show AJ that the world does not rotate around him. And as a surprising bonus, CMR might like to ride the bench as well.

0-2 doesnt mean you have to tie a cement block around your neck and jump off that high bridge . People forget there is a new system with the D. It takes longer than 4 weeks of practices to get evryone on the same page and to know where they have to be on each play. It’s going to take the season to see how everyone gets it . take away the 2 busted coverages and its a different story. There will be a time when those big plays don’t happen and the D looks good . Don’t be bandwagoneers.

It doesn’t matter if we win the rest of our games! I am just sick and tired of waiting to turn the corner. PERIOD. Does not anyone understand. An organization goes as its owner goes. And CMR is the owner of these Georgia BUlldogs. It cannot be put any plainer than that. As far as being a christian man and all: WELL are you telling me that the other good/great coaches in this league are not or less christian than coach Richt. Please. Its about winning and losing.

we need a new coach. Mark Richt is a great GUY not COACH. He has been here for 10 years now. yeah we won a couple of division titles, but those are not national titles. Thats what we want. With UGA’s talent, we should have won a title by now. Im sorry, but 10 years is long enough to get it right. Its time to go coach, and take Bobo with you.

UGA is in a very fortunate situation, if they keep improving every week they could still have a very good season. Because of their schedule with hard work, improvement, and a little luck they could still be playing for something meaningfull at the end of the season. There no reason to be down right now, because there is still allot of hope left, but tonight is when their season has to turn around. They have had three weeks to get the bugs worked out and after tough opponents they finally are hitting a soft swing in the schedule. They need to use this to regain a little confindence and too keep improving. GO DAWGS!!

The UGA football Bulldogs have hit rock bottom! It simply does not get any worse than this shet. Time to fire not only Mark Wretch and Mike Dodo but the whole bunch of clueless losers! This was a total embarrassment from start to finish. What is it with that idiot #3? The football was less than a foot from him. All he has to do is make one football play, one, for a touchdown! How did this ignoramus get into college. Oh. I forgot. It is UGA also known as Thug U! Completely unspirited debacle. Enough to make every true Bulldog fan outraged. I AM! Very much so. This cannot be tolerated. Firings are long past due. Bulldogs are official laughingstock of Southeastern Conference! Truly sad. I am too utterly disgusted and nauseated to comment further. Damn this!
