From AJC correspondent Andy Johnston in Athens:
Georgia safety Shawn Williams is shouldering the responsibility for Saturday’s loss.
He missed tackling Arkansas wide receiver Greg Childs at the 25-yard line, and Childs ran into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown with 15 seconds left.
“It was my fault,” Williams said Monday night, following Georgia’s practice. “I missed the tackle.”
Williams played most of the second half, his first extended playing time of the season. He saw the play on game film on Sunday.
“I just had to move on,” Williams said. “There was nothing I could do about it.”

Grantham blamed all the players for all the mistakes, missed tackles, missed assignments, lack of execution—-and he makes $750,000!!! He really “manned up!”

Shawn Williams: (1) Tells the truth; (2) Takes responsibility; and (3) Faces reality.
He’d make a very poor politician (in general) and Democrat (in particular)!

Sorry kid, but you should have never been put in the position to miss the tackle in the first place. If
Ealey would have at least attempted to block, the drive would not have died. All Bobo had to do was get across the 40 yard line, and then let the best kicker in the nation win the game. Too much blame for one man to take.

not your fault Dawg, Bozo and the play calling, 3rd and 4 and lets send em all on deep routes. We have a pretty damn good tight end, how many throws did he get? Who has taught Ealy how to attempt to block? AJ suspended, not to say that we would have won the game if he’s in there but he certainly requires attention and frees up others. Why don’t recruit DB’s with no arms? Ours don’t use theirs anyway! This is the SEC, backs and recievers in this league usually require wrapping up in order to make a tackle. 2 should have been INT’s, all of this is what lost the game, not you Shawn, but its great to see someone man up, hopefully your attitude will spread to your coaches and teammates!

Since when has UGA recruitd 4 and 5 star athletes?? More like we got mostly 2 and 3 star recruits. Was UGA deceived about the rankings these last few years? Look at how terrible all of those “4 and 5 star” recruits have played over the last 2 or 3 years. There are no excuses what so ever with the poor under achieving stuff that has been exhibited these last 2 weeks, Not to mention these last 3 years.

They HAVE recruited 4- and 5-star athletes. Athletes that litter Super Southeast Lists, etc…. But they immediately lose 2 stars when they step foot into Clarke County because this coaching staff is the opposite of elite.
Scheming is bad, training is bad, everything is bad in Athens. Just because your HC can do a backwards dive off the high-dive doesn’t mean squat.
In fact, that’s a pretty good indication you should let the gym dawgs play between the hedges…

Come see the magic happen….
Where 4 and 5 Star recruits are turned into bumbling idiots on the gridiron.
Where perfectly healthy athletes are turned into weak pansies by the “strength and conditioning” coach.
Where fine upstanding young men are turned into arrested criminals.
Where Bobo the Clown performs his famous “head butt” without a helmet trick every other week.
Athens….. It’s where it’s at.
What a Joke and the Cesspool of the South…. you guys need to come up to Knoxville to see what a real college town is like. See you there next year…. this year we are going to come down there on 10/9 and destroy you in that smelly hole of a stadium where you let your dogs sh*t everywhere.

How about W. Ealy wiffing on all his blocks that caused big issues. Blocking and tackeling are the main reason UGA is 1-2. They are not dominating in any category. And the question mark of QB, the biggest concern to start the season has proven to be a non issue. A Murray has performed well in all three games. He is going to get better and better but if they don’t learn how to dowminate on the line and block and tackle right it will not matter. I can’t remember when UGA were so inept at dominating the play of the game.
