From AJC correspondent Andy Johnston in Athens:
Georgia safety Shawn Williams is shouldering the responsibility for Saturday’s loss.
He missed tackling Arkansas wide receiver Greg Childs at the 25-yard line, and Childs ran into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown with 15 seconds left.
“It was my fault,” Williams said Monday night, following Georgia’s practice. “I missed the tackle.”
Williams played most of the second half, his first extended playing time of the season. He saw the play on game film on Sunday.
“I just had to move on,” Williams said. “There was nothing I could do about it.”

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to let you guys know that Courtney Fuhrmann’s panties were actually pink, not red!
And apparently she said my wiener was small for a black man’s?

That play was his fault, but not the loss. Ark. shouldn’t of even had the ball at that point. And in the telecast the announcers showed another UGA player who bit inside and should have been back – we were playing a two deep – he shouldn’t have been back there by himself. Notice how Mallet hit his TE on the 1st two plays of that last series? Why didn’t we on the preceding series?

In my last post, I should clarify – the missed tackle was his fault – nothing else.

This kid shouldn’t be taking the blame for the game anyways- Childs is a sick receiver and he put an amazing move on him.
That said, UGA needs to send CMR down to Tallahassee where he wants to be anyways.

Ok guys huddle up. Do you safeties understand your job. Yeah coach, we are the last line of defense in case someone breaks free. Like they did 4 times last week. No, No, Nooo. They call you a safety but you are not really, really, a safety. That’s just what we call you. Now lets gooooooooo!

…and Auburn is 1 Bo Jackson away from being S. Carolina 3. Oh yeah…you got housed on the 13-0 season but we finished number 2 more recently than you finished number 2. Jackass. Plus we aren’t owned by our in-state rival….I know I know you strung a few in a row together but you canned that coach.

Grantham should step up and absolve Williams. He pulled a Willie and went prevent on the last series. “Agressive D?” Apparently not when it counts.

I’m a Tech fan to the end, and not sad to say that I root against the Bullpups every game of the year; but I will say this kid is the type of player UGA should be proud to have. He has shown more guts than your entire coaching staff in this one simple statement. I’ve been saying for years that Richt is a terrible head coach, but when the Puppies were winning SEC championships, everyone on these boards couldn’t acknowledge the terrible game management he showed. The few big games you guys won a few years ago, his only tactic was to resort to gimmicks. His time management was so bad, he had to be replaced as offensive play caller, but apparently it just trickles down to whoever he chooses to take over that part of the game. I really appreciate the fact that it takes you guys so long to get it, he’s bought at least another three years off of your support. The only way this meltdown could be better is if you give him a lifetime contract a la Paul Hewitt, then we Tech fans can enjoy the endless whining (albeit well deserved) for the next few years until UGA can raise enough money to buy him out. At least this kid gets it! THWG!
Williams not to blame...

Even if he make the tackle, Arkansas kicks the winning field goal. I’d like to hear the coaching staff, not some kid, take responsibility.

You aren’t owned by your in-state rival, but you sure are owned by ours:

And I’ll assume you are on some Oconee County drugs, because 6 in a row isn’t something you dismiss. Don’t be jealous that Auburn let the sliding stop and made a change- something UGA doesn’t have the juevos to do. I loved TT but its hard to argue a change was needed and made without the 5-year “wait till next year” approach the Athens School for Wayward Boys is taking.
Your Wikipedia claims 3 national titles- two of which were in the WWII era during and immediately after our country was at war, and most able-bodied men were serving their country. Takes guts to be a national champ those years…
Face the facts: UGA is on a downward slide, has been for 3 years (nice job in 2008 with your preseason #1 team). Auburn’s moving on up and has real results to back that up- its not Kool-Aid.
And before you get into the UGA 4-year streak on us, I just want you to think about your season and tell me if you honestly think you aren’t due for a good ole-fashioned butt wooping.

BTW, here is the most advanced academic lecture you’ll get in your lifetime:
Tigers are the mascot
War Eagle is the battle cry and symbol. It’s that simple.
Quit worrying about our traditions and ask yourself this: why don’t you guys even have an original fight song?

Mobile dawg my comments are not Vanilla. I was simply pointing out that the coaches are not putting us in the best position to win and that we have not played with out best players and our full arsonal of players which has put too much on our freshman QB. These are facts regardless of what anybody has had to go through. It is worth pointing out that when we get everyone back and if the coaches actually step up and change some things, maybe we can salvage the season. That can still be considered taking accountability. So there you go, Im saying the exact same thing as everyoneelse. Poor playcalling and we are shorthanded. A recipe for disaster. That’s not an excuse, its a fact pimp.

Agreed.
I don’t use drugs.
Take it up with Wikipedia. And I don’t think UGA was the only team fielded during WWII…if so the strength of schedule had to be really really low.
Maybe…but we are going to make a run at that towl waving coach of yours after the season–so watch out! I hear Richt already bought a cool limo.
Could be. You are due…but have been the last 3 years–right?

Richt can only save himself by taking the play calling away from Bobo, and they only MAYBE can he get some mojo back like had with Van Gorder. Still he will have to man up like young Williams here. Hope that kid is the start of a new attitude. AJ and Richt should take note.

I’m not the “we’ll get you next year” kind of guy… You’re cooked this year- you already know it. Auburn is better than UGA in every single possible way this year. Don’t even mention Drew Butler- you saw his punt to the 40 yard line. Auburn’s program is improving and UGA’s is most definitely NOT. You tell me- who do you think has had more fun watching football the past two years- you or me?

Haha I’m glad you’ve resorted to the least harmful digs you possibly can. The good thing is that we love our program and the direction its heading, love our mascot(s), and are happy about life. No explanation needed on any three points. What about you?
And the Tiger Prowl did wonders for our recruiting and its already paying dividends on the field. You guys would light these boards up if Mark Richt even showed a heart beat of drive to build the program as aggressively as his SEC counterparts.

And the “Littering” on North Campus was the school President’s Machiavellian plan to charge for tailgaiting on North Campus. Provide tew few port-a-potties and trash cans and guess what? A mess ensues. Then ugly pictures hit the papers and book Adams is a hero for cleaning up the mess. They aren’t charging this year–but I bet they do next year!
We certainly don’t celebrate by making a big mess.

I don’t have a problem with Auburn…lots of friends went there. Just not sure where your condescention comes from is all. It is unwarranted and unwelcome. That is what I find usually separates Auburn fans from Florida fans. Florida fans have this odd sense of entitlement and always talk down to you. Frankly I am sad to see that from an Auburn fan.
You may beat us this year…I don’t have aproblem losing to Auburn as much as some other schools.
