(Updated 10 p.m. Sunday)
A roundup of the AJC’s coverage of Georgia’s loss to Arkansas:
My game story, which notes the calendar seemed turned back:
ATHENS — It felt a lot like 1993 in Sanford Stadium on Saturday.
For the first time in 17 years, Georgia lost to Arkansas. For the first time in 17 years, the Bulldogs dropped to 0-2 in the SEC.
Georgia tried to avoid this daunting hole by rallying from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to tie the game 24-24 with about four minutes to play, but the Dogs’ defense, which twice earlier had allowed easy touchdowns on blown coverages, committed another gaffe at the end as Arkansas clinched a 31-24 victory.
Jeff Schultz’s column, which notes Georgia’s 2-6 record in its past eight SEC games:
ATHENS – It’s not about one player not being here. It’s not about playing a freshman quarterback or having a certain soft spot on the depth chart or the big, bad NCAA being out to get Georgia.
When a program sinks to lows not seen since the Ray Goff administration, it’s not an aberration.
Andy Johnston’s sidebar on what the heck happened on those three Arkansas TD passes:
ATHENS — Ryan Mallett’s three touchdown passes were remarkably similar in Arkansas’ 31-24 victory over Georgia on Saturday. On all three, his receivers were wide open, leaving Bulldogs defenders and coaches searching for answers to the breakdowns.
Andy Johnston’s sidebar on what the heck happened on those six sacks of Aaron Murray:
ATHENS — Mike Bobo didn’t place all the blame for Georgia’s offensive problems on the offensive line.
He said the six sacks in Arkansas’ 31-24 victory Saturday were a combination of poor play from an offensive line that missed injured starting guard Chris Davis and of redshirt freshman quarterback Aaron Murray taking too much time in the pocket.
My notebook from the game, including Michael Adams’ comments on the A.J. Green case and football arrests, plus other items:
ATHENS — University of Georgia president Michael Adams said Saturday the school did everything it could to get star wide receiver A.J. Green’s suspension reduced, but Adams did not quarrel with the NCAA’s rejection of the appeal.
. . . On another topic, Adams said he spoke to “every employee” of the Athletic Association in a recent staff meeting, delivering the message that he wants a stop put to the off-field problems on the football team. Nine players have been arrested this year.
Andy Johnston’s report on Mark Richt’s Sunday conference call:
. . . Arkansas’ six sacks were a combination of the offensive line breaking down, poor protection from the running backs and Aaron Murray hanging onto the ball too long.
“I don’t want to throw out anything that would sound like dirty laundry or anything on these kids,” Richt said. “[The blame] was spread out across the board. It wasn’t just one culprit.”
The AJC’s weekly feature looking back at the past game and peeking ahead to the next, which is Saturday at Mississippi State:
Mississippi State, like Georgia, is on a two-game SEC losing streak after opening the season with an easy victory. Coach Dan Mullen’s quarterbacks –- starter Chris Relf and backup Tyler Russell -– combined to throw five interceptions in Saturday’s 29-7 loss to LSU. Mississippi State trailed just 12-7 in the third quarter, but the Tigers scored the final 17 points. Mullen said LSU’s average starting field position was Mississippi State’s 48, thanks to the five interceptions. He added that Relf will start against Georgia.
And here’s Brant Sanderlin’s 23-photo gallery from the Georgia-Arkansas game.

This is how the game ended, Arkansas' Tramain Thomas breaking up a last-gasp 70-yard Aaron Murray heave in the end zone in front of Aron White.

Good grief, Georgia had the ball with 2 timeouts, and only need to move it 20 yards to kick a game winning field goal. Murray cracked under the pressure, he’s a freshman, freshman do that. That’s the story. Not much else there.

Even with the new defense and the mistakes that were made, it is a learning process. I can deal with that. It was the offensive play calling that has cost us both games. Bobo has to go, I have been a supporter at UGA for years but if he is still there next year I will take my time and money else where. It took Mark four years of decline to get rid of Willie, if you keep Bobo another year you will be looking for a job as well.

Been saying for years, with the money the athletic association has, is Mike Bobo the best OC we can get? 95% of the time after an incomplete pass on 1st down we run the ball. Been doing it ever since Richt got here. Do we scout ourselves to see what other teams see about our tendencies?

It is time to either hire Chris Peterson or Kirby Smart. Chirs Peterson would be great because he can get the unathletic to be very productive. He can motivate. Kirby Smart would be good because he has been with Saban for so long that he would not put up with the crap like Saint Richt.

Aaron Murray taking too much time in the pocket? Bobo, you freaking moron, he was running for his life in 90% of UGA’s plays yesterday! Did your sore nose block your vision?
We are not idiots! We know the only time UGA mustered up some offense is when we were two touchdowns behind in the 4th quarter. You know, against a prevent defense.
UGA will not challenge for another SEC crown until McGarity forces Richt to demote Bobo and briing in some new blood at OC.

The defense certainly didnt help, leaving thise receivers open the way they did, but with 2 timeouts, 3rd and 4, where was a roll out and a short pass attempt to one of our tight ends?
or a toss sweep?
No, Bobo calls a pass play for over 20 yards leaving no safety valve, Ealey goes against a D lineman and whiffs miserably and we are lucky Murray’s season didn’t end right there.
Great play calling Bobo. And on top of that he throws Murray under the bus.
Do us a favor and resign.

If he values his job he better start showing some emotion on the sidelines. Does he not realize his players feed off his emotions. UGA has become just an average team in the SEC.

GoDawgs, I agree. Maybe the reason Smart turned down the DC job was because he knew we would be calling him this year with a HC offer. Smart or Peterson would be good choices. I have always been a Richt supporter, but I am tired of the see-saw intensity that this team has. Up for one game, down the next. Only motivated to the level where the coaches think we can barely get the win.

I’m glad to see I’m not alone in my assesment of our offensive coordinator. There is absolutely no imagination what so ever in Bobo’ play calling. It’s a shame when these kids play their hearts out and don’t get rewarded because we get outsmarted by the opposing coaches. And to wake up this morning and read an article where Bobo is blaming Aaron for not getting rid of the ball early enough makes me sick. We will be fine if we keep playing aggressive, yet smarter.

There are many problems facing this team. #1 Play calling. Bobo goes in with the gameplan to run the ball and setup the passing game with play action which has always worked. The problem is he abandons this plan with fancy plays such as bubble screens and the wild dog formation which defenses have stopped. Go with what works and stick with it.
#2 New Defensive scheme and new players. Georgia has 2 new safeties and a linebacking core that consists of guys who have been moved from outside to inside and end to OLB. The scheme is good but the players are not doing there jobs which results in big plays for opposing offense.
#3 Poor offensive line play and a freshman quarterback. At the beginning of the season you would have thought a veteran line would protect the QB but they have done so poorly. Yesterday, there were too many times that blitzing linebackers came right up the middle and sack Murray. Also, running back have done a poor job as well. Ealey blew his block on a LB and he came in through the backside to bring him down.
Georgia has potential to be a good team but poor play calling and poor performance has caused them to become a mediocre team. I am a die hard fan and always will be. But something has to change. The assistants need to get their player more disciplined and focused and their needs to be better play calling. Stick with your game plan and dump the screems and wild dog formation that have been proven to not work.

Folks it is not the play calling. It is the execution of the play that has been called. It is the execution of the defense that has been called.
Look, how many stars by your name on the recruiting lists is nothing compared with HOW you play the game, how you execute. And most times that is beyond coaching.

Time we face facts my fellow Dawg fans… we are a lower tier football program in the SEC. Our record in the last 8 games in the SEC is among the league’s worst. We need to deal with the fact that even though we can get non-qualifiers in school, our competition (LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, So Carolina) can get more non-qualifiers admitted. Our academic standards are higher than theirs and it is hurting us in recruiting. We just can’t get the players we need. We have never been the same since Jan Kemp forced us to bring in STUDENT-athletes. What a sham… this is big time college football. We are only hurting ourselves by keeping up this academic facade, which basically only exists in our own minds. We ain’t the Harvard of the South, even though we like to tell ourselves that. I am depressed. Adams wants to cut down on arrests… heck… I think we need more guys that act like animals. What bothers me most is that our guys are getting arrested for whimpy things like drunk driving… I would love to see some guys get arrested for bar fighting or something similar. An aggravated assault charge would be nice. This half-hearted stuff ain’t cutting it. Where are the Junkyard Dawgs of old?

Bobo is correct in his acceesment that Murray does need to get rid of the ball quicker on many occasions but with that being said it does come off as if he is blaming Murray who is a Rs freshman and will make those kind mistakes…I think Coach Bobo needs to take a hard look at his sometimes pathetic play calling and realize when something is working as the run was on that last series before Ark scored, stick with it…we were 3rd and four..you would think that in two plays we could have picked up a first down…Of course if had thrown a touchdown pass on the play we would all be calling it a great call…I think my biggest concern with Coach Bobo is not that one series or that a RB didn’t pick up a block, but we seem to be very predictable..my young son is amazed at how many times i predict what Bobo will run before the ball is snapped…he thinks i am very smart…i tell him no, i just know football and watch for tendencies of the teams…Coach Bobo is very easy to read…do you think the other teams coaching are as smart as i seem to be…I’m still behind the dawgs and although there are some concerning breakdowns in our defense and we are still not making plays…I believe the gators have 10 interceptions this year…surely that is helping their stuggling offense,…we could use some of the same…I still believe the defense will be good at some point, but i don’t see any indication that the offense is any better than it has been in recent years…

Brian is gone, Willie is gone, now some want Bobo gone. When is the Dawg Nation going to realize that Richt is the main problem. So what if he calls the offensive plays? He’s old news just like his mentor(Bowden). The resemblences are bad penalties, mental lapses, and a few selfish players screwing up the team’s chance at any true cohesion. This crap of wait until A.J. gets back speaks poorly of the coaching staff, Richt included. If Green not being in the game is the main reason for yesterday’s loss, then Richt should be fired for being incompetent as a HC. One player does not make a team. Georgia lost to a superior team which was better coached and the results speak loudly and clearly.

Instead of “finishing the drill” our team gets “drilled to the finish.”
Do we actually practice during the week? Most of those kids don’t look like they know what to do when the ball is snapped.
Why can’t Jones lift the ball up when the other teams’ players jump offsides?
Either we have really sorry players on the team or we have really sorry coaches getting them ready.
I try to tell myself that SC may be the best team in the East this year and Arkansas may be the best team in the West this year too – and we may be OK against the rest of the conference schedule now that we have the 2 hardest conference games behind us, but only time will prove that out.
If it is true and we lost to each by 1 touchdown then maybe we are better than we have looked.
I guess we will find out when Arkansas plays Alabama this coming weekend. But I can’t help but notice that Furman scored 3 times the number of points on SC than we did.
We certainly do not play with the fight that Auburn and Clemson played with last night. Man, they were carrying bodies off the field. Either one of those teams would have cleaned our clock.
Doesn’t look like the players or the coaches have any fire in their belly anymore and don’t have what it takes to “man up.”
Did I miss something or did we rehire Jim Donnan? The Dawgs look like the soft teams he put on the field for 5 years. Remember that if those teams couldn’t beat you with finasse they would get their butts kicked. Same thing now.

2. I bet this was the first time he got out of his ivory tower and talked to the team.

The sad truth is that Bobo is about as competant as an Offensive coordinator as Richt is as a Head Coach. As the talent pool dries up, the hidden becomes exposed. UGA has talent, but not elite talent of years past that was to such a staggering degree as to cover up Donnan’s and Richt’s shortcomings. Tragedy if you are a dawg fan for sure. But what to do? I mean what’s the best case scenario? Neither Richt nor Bobo want to lose, yet they have each reached their respective zeniths as coaches. Well let’s dance with what got us here. Imagine if the Egos involved could stand this scenario:
Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator Mark Richt
Quarerbacks Coach Mike Bobo
Defensive Coordinator Todd Grantham
Recruiting Coordinator Jim Donnan
Yep that’s right…why not Donnan? We’re still paying him for crying out loud. I know, not likely…so we are just going to have to wait out Richt’s contract or his resignation.

It is never acceptable for an adult coach to throw a 19 year old player under the bus. Especially when the coach is responsible for putting the player in the best to position to succeed. The 3rd and 4 (”The Play”) was the worst call of all the lousy ones Bobo called. Sure he had to hold onto the ball coach. You sent all the receivers to Milledge Avenue and left not one outlet receiver for him Shut the hell up Bobo. Oh, and quit too while you’re at it,

For three years I’ve been watching this situation develop without saying anything about the overall impression of Coach Mark Richt that I get as an outside observer. I think “passivity” would be the descriptive word in the context of how most other head coaches relate to their responsibilities and their environment. It would seem that others in the environment, including assistant coaches and players may have difficulty in relating to this passivity.
For the assistant coaches, it would seem to contribute to uncertainty about how to do their jobs. For the players, it may be a contributing factor in lack of discipline and behavioral problems. Coach Todd Grantham has commented recently that he has had to adjust to coaching at the college level. I believe that most of his adjustment issues are to to the local environment rather than the college level in general.

“Looks like the junk yard dogs are headed for the junk heap. Richt has seen his best days and it’ll be a few mediocre years before he gets canned.”
Unfortunately, this is correct. Adams will put up with Richt for a few more years, desperately hoping that the dawgs will find the magic again. It won’t happen. The Dawgs will simply sink further into mediocrity, and eventually a 7-5 season will be the norm.
The really sad part is that this doesn’t have to happen.

I see Bobo is not accepting any blame for his inept play calling. Regardless of whose fault it was for the sack on 3rd and 4, that play should have never been called. Arkansas had been putting too much pressure on Murray the whole game to expect anything less on that play. Where were the draw plays and screens and rollouts to take some of the pressure off the quarterback? No excuses.

I always wondered why Stafford checked off so much at the line , in the last 2 years that question has been answered.
My advice to Murray is to decide what plays you need and call the play that makes the most since. You don’t have an offensive coordinator that is capable of calling plays and Bobo’s results seems to indicate that the more pressure UGA has on them the worst the
play calling.
There was a lot of times when the play calling could have been better but as a lot of fans have said ,I can’t believe that on 3rd and 4 yards to go that a play wasn’t called to only get 4 yards. All you are trying to do is get the ball 5 or 10 yards closer and let Walsh give it a try. But the biggest head shaker was counting on Ealey yo be able to block a defensive end.I don’t blame Ealey any, I blame the coach who allowed that to happen. If you aren’t going to to use Ealey on that play with a hand off or screen why is he even in the game. Bring another lineman in to block .

I think all can take some of the blame.
1-CMR for not getting rid of his good friend , Martinez 2 or 3 years ago. A new defensive scheme would be in place by now which would be getting better results. Also for not seeing how inept Bobo is as an offensive coordinator and making that change this year.
2-Not practicing hard enough to get the payers in game shape.
3- Very little senior leadership
4- I think the coaches should expect more from the players . Most of these guys have been playing football since Pee Wee. Some on here are chastising Bobo and Grantham for calling out the players but they need to be criticized. A lot of these players payed both ways in high school . They should not be making as many mistakes as they are.

Well I for one thought the Dogs showed outstanding resolve in coming back and nearly winning the game…it’s unfortunate how just a couple plays out of many during the game can determine not only the winner of the game but can also define a fanbase’s outlook on their teams prospects for the remainder of the season….If your line holds the block on Jake Bequette a hair longer then maybe Murray makes a completion for a first down to get the Dogs in field position to make the game winning field goal. Then all of you are talking about the 4th quarter pep talk Richt gave that turned the tide(sorry to mention Tide) of your teams misfortune, that ultimately may propel your young team to Atlanta. I for one was impressed with the way your team came back, the toughness of your young QB Murray, and I was fully ready to go on a message board and congratulate Georgia fans for their team’s outstanding come from behind victory….All is not lost yet Georgia fans, just as I would not think all was lost for my Razorbacks had the Dogs won…Great game..too bad one team had to lose…Good luck the rest of the season..I personally think you guys will continue to improve and be a good SEC team in a good bowl game at season’s end…VERY glad we don’t play next year…..

I’ve never understood how anyone – even an alumnus – could support and take pride in UGA’s football team. When you look at their history for the past forty years, how can anyone ignore Jan Kemp and the “remedial studies” scam, the Jim Harrick fiasco, the DUIs in the athletic office, the DUIs and other arrests of players, the #1 party school tag (i.e., the most drunk students), the suspensions and outright dismissals, the Fulmer Cup, and on and on?
As disgraceful and humiliating as it is, I don’t see many alums and fans demanding an end to this sordid activity. It sets UGA apart as the kind of school most people abhor, and it’s become an embarrassment to the whole state of Georgia.
Will it never end? Apparently not while Mark Richt is at UGA. Richt is perhaps the biggest hypocrite in the United States. But even with all the cheating and lawlessness that he ignores, he still can’t win the SEC.
So you’re paying him to be BCS champions, but he can’t even win his SEC division. So why do you pay him millions of dollars a year?

It’s time for a change in Athens. CMR is a good man and he did some good things here at UGA, but the end is near. Program is headed in a downward spiral. House needs to be cleaned, or at least BOBO and RICHT need to be fired.
Fresh approach is needed, a young hungry coach like Peterson from Boise State or just offer Kirby Smart the job he really wanted (not the DC but the Head coach), I bet neither will put up with the current state of the UGA football program. Off and on the field.
One more thing, way to go COACH BOBO (Your play calling is about as creative as the MADDEN bot game btw) throwing a red shirt freshman QB with 2 starts experience UNDER THE BUS. If anyone should have been called out on the offense is YOU and the play of the “VENTERAN” O-Line.

It’s a little amusing to here all the people here who believe they can out-coach the coaches. Let’s say, for argument’s sake, that the coaches really are as bad as you say. Even then, after doing it for a living for many years, they know more than you do. It’s hard to argue otherwise.
I’m reminded of when I play golf – I’m terrible at it. And others will tell me what I need to do. They are probably right. But it’s not that I don’t know what to do, it’s that it’s beyond my skill level at times.
That’s what is going on here. A lot of the mistakes and problems came – not because the kids weren’t coached – but because they just couldn’t do it on a consistent basis.
The good news is that Murray is actually going to be very good. It’s true. He has a great arm, is able to run and seems intelligent. He’s playing in his first year. So he makes mistakes. That’s to be expected.
I know that you can’t always say “wait until next year” but with him, you’ll see improvements before this year is done. It’ll be too late for anything meaningful to happen for UGA this year, but that’s just the way it is.
As far as the defense, let the recruiting catch up with the new scheme. Obviously the people we have in place are not right for the new scheme.
I’m not being an apologist. I’d love to win every game, every time. But – other than in B movies – that doesn’t happen.

I think everyone has come to realize that UNC would be the team to beat in the ACC this year if they didn’t have all their off season problems. Do you guys play Clemson this year? They looked very tough against Auburn last night although they got a lot of players hurt. If you play them this year you’ll have your hands full. WilliamG, You are missing the point here. Teams practice their two minute drill for a reason. We didn’t even use ours. Our offense isn’t treating the game from a professional perspective. All of the other SEC teams have high caliber expereinced Offensive Coordinators — that’s all we want too. Someone who knows how to develop a gameplan around your team’s strengths and knows how to execute it. Bobo was shooting from the hip and it cost us the game. We had Arkansas right where we wanted them. Momentum, drive into field goal range and eat up the rest of the clock. Bobo didn’t even give our players an opportunity to do that.

Man, does every UF fan that was a complete outcast as a child and got beaten up every day visit the UGA blogs here at the AJC. Seems that way.
Bobo needs to go. Him trying to put the blame on Murray is pathetic. It’s all him. That being said. Being a Dawg fan of sane mind, I knew this year was going to be a bit of a struggle going in. If Murray plays last year, along with ridding ourselves of Willie last year, then this year we’d have been strong. As it stands, it was a reloading year going in. And that was before the Educational Mafia (NCAA) sunk it’s crooked teeth into the program. And at some point, we have to give credit to the two schools we just lost to. SC and Arkansas have finally come of age as SEC powers. SC has probably the best frosh RB I’ve seen in a long time. Arkansas has the best QB in the country.
UGA, no matter what the UF goons and Tech dorks like to think, is fine as a overall program. Piddly small time arrests don’t concern me either, so keep banging on that crap if it makes you feel better AJC. They’ll win 7-8 games this year, be regarded as one of the ‘hotter’ teams at the end of the season, and go into next year, with a tested QB and fully integrated defensive scheme poised to contend in the SEC East, if not for BSC title shots.

The amount of assinine garbage I’m reading from you idiots is astounding. Some tool wrote earlier that Georgia doesn’t have nice enough facilities. Do nice facilities make tackles? No I don’t think so.
In case you toothless retards haven’t figured out yet, UGA is in a transition year. We have a whole new defensive staff, with the exception of the inept Rodney Garner and a RS Freshman QB and our star player sitting on the bench. We lost an away game to a top 25 team and tied a top 15 team with a chance to win. Given the circumstances I’d say we’re doing pretty well. Is there room for improvement? YES. Do we need to make some changes in coaching on the offensive side? YES.
If anyone thinks UGA is going to find a Nick Satan or Oscar Meyer replacement that’s going to render us an immediate National Championship contender, then you need to go to the dentist and get some new teeth, go back to school and get your GED and wake-up from the acid trip you’re currently on!!!

Dawg Fans,
Take a minute and just calm down. Those of you that thought UGA was going to win it all this year were just being too optimistic. New QB, new scheme on D (without the needed linemen), same mediocre O line and your best player suspended. You just played 2 quality teams with much more going for them right now. The Dawgs are just going through a rough patch. They really should show improvement as the year goes on and next year. If not, then start the “hot seat” talk. It’s not the end of the world. All teams go through it. Uf did in 2007 (and maybe this year?).

New QB / new D coach / suspensions and injuries / tough opponents and no chance to get some experience for the rookie Murray. Plus – and I have to admit it at last – Bobo is at best, an average OC. CMR nmeeds to take over the play calling duties and move Bobo back to QB coach. He was good at that. If you don’t demote him now – McGarity will demand you fire him later.

I’m not rubbing it in, but I told you that GA will be lucky to win 6 games this year. They have had a lot of off field issues and the like. This has affected the program believe it or not? GA is not that good!

Green Out. I agree with you completely. If AJ Green had been in the lineup, Georgia would have won both of those games. My question is this. Why was he allowed to even be on the sidelines in Athens yesterday? As long as he is suspended, he should not even be a part of the team. The TV cameras spent more time looking at him on the sidelines than they did the game. One more case of slack discipline on the UGA football program.

Overall I don’t think the Dawgs are a sinking ship and I’m not one to call for drastic measures. I have to wonder what Richt is thinking? There are so many obvious football errors being executed by the dawgs. That falls on coaching and Richt is the head coach.
I 100% agree that Bobo has to go now. The man lacks basic football knowledge. I read an article where he blames Murray for holding onto the ball too long? I blame Bobo for not correcting that during the game. Even the announcers questioned his tactics.
Be a man Bobo and give your paycheck back and quit on your own.

Now Mark Richt’s goal is to “TRY” to win a conference game. Perhaps he should try to find his SPINE.
Let’s see, he leads college football or is in contention for leader in:
- ARRESTS
- INJURIES
- PENALTIES
- TURNOVERS
Why do we have to wait YEARS to get rid of someone whose heart and head is no longer in the game?

Richt’s mantra of only playing one quarterback during the season bites us again this season. Someone besides Cox should have played last year
(not Gray) so they would have game experience. Richt is still living in his FSU days which no longer exist. At least Murray isn’t throwing three interceptions a game like Stafford in his first year. Oh, and the third and fourth play was run earlier in the game and highlighted by the TV crew. The play was pure sandlot. Everyone run 20 yards down the field to the defender and turn around. The replay was priceless.

The last failed GA drive shows exactly the problem with Georgia’s offensive play calling: 2:14 left on the clock, timeouts, that’s the ideal time to chip away, chip away, chip away … and finally in the last few seconds get in position for a game winning field goal. GA has no offensive clue how to chip away. You put Florida, Alabama, most any good SEC team with 2:14 and timeouts, they know how to chip away, and call plays that’ll get 4 or 5 yards a down, then finally kick the field goal.
Clock management, ball control, short passes to tight ends … that somehow escapes Bobo’s mindset. Why not a screen pass to Ealey on the final offensive play? Why not one of those short passes to the tight end on the sideline that 100% of the time picks up 7 or 8 yards? Heck, run Ealey on 3rd and 4, even if he gets only 3 you could go for it on 4th and 1. Anything but some lame long ball that has little chance for a completion.
Very disappointing GA defense even had to be on the field having to save the game – should never have happened.

Bobo said Murray was to blame for the final sack, an 8-yard loss on third-and-four that forced the Bulldogs to punt with 54 seconds left in the game.
Bobo, why don’t you put some of this blame on your play calling. Why were all 3 receivers 20 yard down field on the 3 and 4 with no check down receiver. When you are assigning blame, please look into the mirror. A lot of it starts there.

Face it guys, our o-line is a little overrated & there’s not much talent on defense.Coaches need to do a better job of evaluating the talent. The recruits we are getting seem to be deciding between ga,kentucky & vanderbuilt. We loss out on most of the hi profile recruits that end up going to Alabama, Florida,Florida St,etc. & that leaves us with 2nd tier recruits.Look at SC last week , they have better talent from the state of ga then we do.WE ARE LOSSING ALL OF THE STATES BEST PLAYERS TO OTHER SCHOOLS—THAT MUST STOP!!!!!!!!!
Where have our TE’s been in the first two games?
In order to win again we must keep the states best at home.

For all of you who claim coach BoBo intentionally called a play and sent all the receivers 20 yards deep on 3rd down with 4 yards to go for a first down, didn’t watch the play! I believe Washaun Ealey was actually supposed to be the relief valve (short receiver) but Arkansas blew it up by blitzing either a linebacker or a safety through the same hole that Ealey was trying to use in his route. In Ealey’s haste to get open he almost ran pass the blitzing Arkansas player that he was actually responsible for blocking! For all of you who keep harping on that Mark Richt needs to take over the Offensive play calling these are his plays, he approves every Offensive play that is called!
Emotion is all that is missing on this team, if coach Richt will show more emotion during practice and games you will suddenly see better run blocking, better tackling, better overall all play all the way around! It’s just that simple! Come on coach Richt GATA!!!! Go-Dawgs

Frank Lane,
You really think Donnan was a better coach than Richt? That’s just stupid! Richt has clearly had more success than Donnan. Now if you want to say that Donnan was a better recruiter than Richt, then that’s a fair argument. Both have underachieved with the talent that got, the difference is that Richt was able to at least win a few conference titles while Donnan lost 3 in a row to Ga. Tech.
As for UGA right now, I think a few things:
1. We as UGA fans really need to have more reasonable expectations when it comes to our program. Expecting a team to finish 10-2 when they are breaking in a freshman QB and learning a new defensive scheme is just idiotic! Both David Greene and Matt Stafford finished with 4 losses their first year as starters. Did any of ya’ll really think team would not struggle?
2. Going along those lines: I think that you can’t really gauge a team until you see them play 3-4 games vs. real competition. UGA is struggling right now due to inexperience and a lack of talent on defense. But the offense played better vs. Arkansas, and I liked how the players fought hard in the second half. Last year’s team would have laid down to Arkansas in the 4th quarter, but this team came out and fought and that should NOT be underestimated! This team reminds me a lot of the 2006 team that lost close games Vandy and Kentucky, but were able to put it all together in a blowout of Auburn towards the end of that year. This may sound crazy but I think that this team could put it all together vs. a Florida or Auburn, neither of whom have been that impressive despite their 3-0 starts. I really believe this UGA team is in a corner and corned animals always fight the hardest. I sure wouldn’t want to have to play this team if I were a Florida, Auburn, or GT.
3. UGA has already played arguably the best RB in the conference in Marcus Lattimore and the best QB in Ryan Mallet. The next 5 games( MSU, Colorado, UT, Vandy, and Kentucky) don’t have that caliber of talent on their teams, and all of those games are very winnable. I think having to overcome adversity early will work to the Dawgs advantage.
Things are never as good or as bad as they seem. UGA will finish 8-5 or 9-4. South Carolina and Arkansas will be exposed when they have to actually play some decent teams, and will fold down the stretch. Trust me, they are not championship caliber teams. Florida will finish with 3-4 losses, mark it down! Alabama, on the other hand is the real deal. They could very well repeat this year!

1. Clock mgt at the end of the 4th Q was bad. Why not let the clock run all the way down, then call a time out. 3rd down play should have been roll out run/pass option. Let clock run if you don’t make it. Call TO if you do. Bottom line is we needed to try to make sure there was as little time on the clock for Ark. We didn’t.
2. Murray holds the ball too long, but Bobo has no check down receiver for him to dump the ball off to–that should have been addressed at half time.
3. Young secondary must learn to read wheel routs, etc. Also, I don’t know why we didn’t blitz more. Ark QB didn’t like to be hurried. Teach DBs to hold onto the ball.
4. When will we learn to keep someone home to mind the store on punts? Hogs accidental fake punt should’ve been stopped. Remember WV game (fake punt), Florida (fake punt). Come on special teams coach! Also, when is the last time we had a special teams fake punt/play that worked?
5. Players are working hard and playing their hearts out. Murray will be a great QB. RBs need to block. Def. should come together–better do it quickly. Coaches, put your players in position to win.

Great game…..Georgia did a heck of a job coming back. Aaron Murray is going to be good…and be at UGA for years to come. The Dawgs have found a receiver in Kris Durham that looks better than Green (kick Green off the team, don’t need him and his antics). The defense is where the problem lies….Georgia should have won at home with the 24 points. I see good things ahead for Georgia if they can find some defensive players.

Dawg_Mike , I can tell you what Bobo’s problem is: he thinks that a 3rd & 4 that everybody will expect a QB roll-out or screen pass, so he sends the WR’s out 20 yards. Problem is, WHO CARES WHAT THE OTHER TEAMS THINKS YOU ARE GOING TO RUN!!! It was FOUR YARDS BOBO!!!!!!!!!! You have a very mobile QB, so do the math % on completing a 20 yard pass or rolling out for a 1st down!!! What an idiot of a decision.

I’ve never believed in Richt’s offensive philosophy, however once a Dawg, always a Dawg. Regardless of what happens in Starkville most people whether they would admit it or not have lost confidence/faith in the coaching staff and their ability to give us a premium product and performance.
Have to be proud of the players for stepping up and getting us back in the game Saturday, that showed we have heart. To then see that opportunity wasted by the strategy after the performance by our defense was disheartening. How many beside me saw it coming though. This is sadly what we are used to now. CMR put the program on autopilot a while back. Has he gotten lazy, forgotten how to coach; I don’t know what’s driving him inside as far as being a football coach.
Then to allow his coordinators to even share the blame with the players is totally unacceptable. Their reply should have been, “we as coaches are responsible for preparing them for what they will face, we have to do a better job”.
To directly answer your question Mark, the fans attendance will begin to erode, looked like it has already started as there were numerous unoccupied seats at Saturday’s game. Donations will go down, the most influential alumni will have the ear of Adams and McGarity. Sadly the CMR era will come to a close by the end of the year. If on the other hand we have a miracle like you predict and finish @ 9-3, CMR gets one more year to show he can get the job done and we continue to wonder what’s next. It’s hard to get excited and really up for a football game anymore.

Georgia looks terrible in every facet of the game. They were completely out-coached. Mike Bobo has got to be the worst play caller that I have seen. I mean it is 3rd and 5 and he calls a play that has all the receivers running routs 20 yards down the field and all we needed is 5 yards to keep the possible game winning drive alive. He plays not to lose, when he should be calling plays to win the game. Bobo is about as sorry as it gets when it comes to play calling.

Two of Arky’s TD’s, and one third-and-long completion for a key first down came when Georgia was blitzing…and our blitz has been killing us for years now.
I don’t know what’s wrong. Maybe we’re telegraphing it, or maybe the DB’s are slow to react to the dump-off pass, or maybe we need to leave a couple of LB’s back for short coverage instead of sending everybody. But the occasional sack or pass “hurry” that we get out of it has NEVER made up for the amount of critical yardage the other team gains against it. Shades of Willie Martinez!

some of you need to quit lying. not all receivers ran “20 yards” down field on the murray sack. you can cleary see at least one stop and turn. the problem was ealey’s pathetic blocking skills.

they say a qb needs to get rid of the ball in the nfl within 3 seconds of the snap. murray was right at 3 seconds when he got drilled. even if he was gonna throw at 3 seconds, the ball would have been a duck and gone into the ground. the blame on that final play is completely on ealey.

With our recruiting we are 2-6 in our last 8 SEC games. Oh my. And now we have assistants being passive aggressive and blaming 19 and 20 year olds in public? We are back in the Coach Goff days again. Like Ray, CMR is also a nice guy and brought us some very good seasons; just not getting it done in a while…and our football program is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons way too often. Proven: John Gruden

I would have loved to just shakedown the whole staff last year and got Derek Dooley, but crap, he’s in Tennessee.
Someone also commented on CMR “mailing it in”. Yup, sure feels that way. He’s got some weird smirk on his face most of the game. Like he enjoys sucking.
Bobo looks like the kid that tries too hard and is just not really good, but he keeps trying and trying. Not really getting that his actions are his undoing. Being exploited by the opponent. You know that other teams preparing to play Georgia just laugh at the tapes they see. I mean you could just throw out a shell defense against Georgia and everyone would run around like idiots and be confused.

How can we continue to have top 10 recruiting classes almost every year and get beat by teams that are lucky if they have a top 30 recruiting class? It is called coaching, and we are not doing a very good job of it. That and their is no discipline in this program. We are recruiting mostly just on talent and “stars” and mybe not enough character. Then when some of these “star”players do something wrong we suspend them for one game against the “sisters of the poor”. Richt I am sure is a fine man, but his form of discipline is not and has not worked and he is getting beat now by teams that he has way out recruited. I am afraid that when Van Gorder left, so did our chance of being a real player in the SEC. Richt needs to re-evaluate his whole program including himself, as we are definitely a very average SEC team right now at best. This should not be acceptable, as we have just as many resources and probably more than any other SEC school except maybe Florida…I mean just think about it.

Last week we found out Ga couldn’t tackle. This week we found out they don’t have a safety. Turns out the O line is pretty mediocre by SEC standards. Maybe the vaunted Ga talent we’ve been recruiting just isn’t all that. Everyone’s blaming the coaches. How do you know the current staff isn’t milking every ounce of potential out of these guys? The coaches can’t take the field and make tackles or prevent opponents from getting wide open deep every other series.
You think the guys playing for Bama couldn’t have won this game with Bobo calling their plays? Get serious. It’s time for these vaunted stars we’ve put on the field to man grow a couple too. Why is it so easy for their guys to protect their qb and the UGA line can’t? That’s about being better football players. Period. If there’s a problem with the coaching staff it’s that they’re recruiting too many athletes and not enough football players. It’s time the fans of this team see some damn blocking and tackling.

91 wins. But only 3 of the 91 wins, none in any bowl game, are over Top 10 Final AP Poll teams. All of the other games these 10 years against Top 10 Final AP Poll teams, Coach Richt has managed to lose. 11 games in 10 years against Top 10 Final AP Poll teams, and Coach Richt has LOST 8 and won only 3. And, of the only 3 wins in 10 years against Top 10 Final AP Poll teams, Coach Richt managed to lose 12 combined LOSSES those 3 years.
Coach Richt has not had a great year where he beat top teams.
His recruiting is glaring on the field.
It is even more glaring off the field, with now Michael F. Adam$ issuing a proclamation to Coach Richt last night about OFF FIELD ARRESTS. This sets the stage for the only recruit and him from out of state Christian LeMay who had sex in front of his Principal in a classroom with a 14-year old child. Now, he is not even playing his senior year. This is the face of The University of Georgia for the next 4 years before he goes to the NFL ? Can we really afford to allow Coach Richt to FORGIVE Christian LeMay, his job on the line in 2011 obviously.
Can he rebound this season ?
5 of the next 6 games are against complete nobodies.
But, in the 9 previous seasons, Coach Richt has managed to lose to 8 such teams.
8 LOSSES in 9 years to teams NOT RANKED in the Top 25 Final AP Poll.
What does this season really have in store now ?
Let’s look at it from the DISNEYdawgs.com point of view, shall we ? Florida and Auburn don’t look like much, but can we really beat them ? Be honest now.
BoWeevil

DISNEYdawgs.com said that we have a freshman quarterback who was great in high school. Coach Richt said that too. Look at those tapes Coach Richt admonished us to do just 3 weeks ago.
I thought we have 10 of 11 Starters back on Offense. I thought we had the nation’s best OL. I thought we had 2 PROVEN RELIABLE Running Backs Aaron Murray could count on to carry the load until he learned an overly complicated playbook, that largely has been responsible for the fact that in Coach Richt’s 10 seasons at Georgia has averaged the # 52 Total Offense in the nation for all 10 seasons, and now is # 81 Total Offense this season. I thought Aaron Murray was great. I thought AJ Green was going to be in the running for the Heisman Trophy, certainly the Fred Biletnikoff Award. I thought Willie Martinez was the only problem UGA and Coach Richt had ? I thought all these NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ARRESTS and SUSPENSIONS happen everywhere and were not a distraction at all ? I thought South Carolina had a bad quarterback. I thought Ryan Mallett was not going to be great against a defense without Willie Martinez, and that Arkansas had no defense.
Let’s say we win 6 of the next 7. That makes us 7-3. Do we lose to Auburn ? Fairly likely, right –based on the discord and bickering in the press by our coaching staff at odds with the players and each other. I don’t know what Coach Richt means by opening up the offense, Mike Bobo said a day before kickoff. They both said Aaron Murray has to get rid of the football.
Is this season really any different from any of the other seasons ?
Every year, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and now in 2010, we have lost 2 SEC games to take us out of contention totally for ANYTHING.
10-11 over this span after our last SEC Championship Game appearance vs SEC East teams, it is no different this year from any other year.
BoWeevil

Arrests / Suspensions / Injuries, we don’t even know if we should practice. And, distracted by 1 of Coach Richt’s players arrested or suspended EVERY SINGLE MONTH since 2001.
I said we could not keep up with Ryan Mallett in scoring.
We did NOT.
None the fault of strength and conditioning and Mike Bobo is GREAT ?
Who’s the CULPRIT ?
Coach Richt said spread it all around. That is fairly accurate, but there is 1 person who is ACCOUNTABLE. He is the same person given CREDIT for the recruiting. Given CREDIT for the 91 wins. He is the same person ACCOUNTABLE then for the 29 losses after 9 years and 3 games.
7-4 he might achieve and then beat lowly Georgia tek WHO IS NOT RANKED. 8-4 then some bowl game against some MEANINGLESS OPPONENT, as Coach Richt has ACCOMPLISHED all 10 years now.
Beating Georgia tek at 8-1 is how we measure, how we hold Coach Richt ACCOUNTABLE ? Is this really where we are as a FOOTBALL PROGRAM the # 11 football program in America All-Time in 1-A wins, yet for the time after 2005, there are in fact 18 teams whom Coach Richt does not have more wins than coming in to this season, and at 1-2, there are MORE TEAMS THAN 18 whom Coach Richt does NOT have more wins than.
9-win season. 9-4. “Coach Richt won 9 games. No coach in the nation is better. 99 wins in 10 seasons.” That is the mantra here.
Excuse me of the 10 seasons all but 2 were in fact 14-game seasons.
29 LOSSES now.
We have been kept from beating a Top 10 Final AP Poll team in EVERY BOWL GAME.
Yet, DISNEYdawgs.com want to say we won 10 games.
This is 2010.
14-game seasons. Win 10 games and THIS is the type of year you are YAPPING about.
Shut up about 10-win seasons for God’s Sake. I am not satisfied with this season, and Coach Richt OFFICIALLY is on the hot seat. He will coach next year, here. He will lose 15 seniors and 4-5 juniors after this season, and cannot possibly be great in 2011 either. And, for all his proclamations about “DREAM TEAM” how has Coach Richt and his “coaching staff” done in-state getting Offensive Players to help out this woebegone # 81 in the nation Offense ? It is an Abysmal Failure. Coach Richt can go take over at Florida State; Jimbo Fisher is not their answer they say. Maybe he won’t make the same mistake he did here and hire NOBODIES as his ENTIRE COACHING STAFF his entire 10-Year UGA career.
Kirby Smart, Will Muschamp, Chris Petersen – would ANY of them have HIRED 1 single coach on Coach Richt’s “coaching staff” the entire 10-year Coach Richt Era ? How would a DREAM TEAM in the state of Georgia look with any of those 3 as our Head Coach ? Who would be their Offensive Coordinator ? Would any of them have these 4 tight ends and have 1 guy catch 1 pass all day long yesterday ? Would any of them have redshirted Knowshon Moreno so we only got to see him 2 years ? Would any of them try to motivate the players BEFORE the game 2 weeks ago or BEFORE the game yesterday, or wait until the 4th quarter to prove that you do MOTIVATE Georgia football players – as Erk Russell proved every Saturday.
I must have missed that.
Greg McGarity and Michael F. Adams BOTH after SEC week 2 now have issued absolute clear and undeniable REBUKES of the arrests / suspensions. Where are their it is all the fault of the Police and all the fault of the NCAA ?

GoDawgs is spot on with one of his comments:
“Richt has had ten years to win and he has struggled. Saban-three years National Title
Meyer-one to three years National Titles
LSU – National Title.
It is time for a change.”
Not saying time for a change, but the other part makes you think a lot… If you are getting top 10 talent pretty much every year and it takes these other coaches 1, 2, 3 or 4 years to win it all and/or CONTINUALLY get to big games like the SEC Championship, BCS bowl games why can UGA only get there once every 10 years and to the National Title game on Herchel’s back?
Herschel and Bo Jackson were amazing and there will never be two like them again, but the running backs at UGA are always going pro and doing well so how come Florida goes every year, Bama now is going every year again and LSU always is putting the hurt to 90% of its schedule no matter who is playing QB or RB?????
The EXCUSES of we are in Florida’s division have to STOP. Their talent ebbs and flows like UGA and without Tebow they will probably win this side AGAIN (unless Spurrier can beat them)….
Has it really been 10 years and ONLY 1, one stinking SEC Chamionship with NO National Title shots??? Not even playing in the big game!

GREAT NEWS !!!
UGA President met with EVERY football coach and informed them he wanted ALL ARRESTS & OFF FIELD ISSUES STOPPED and CONTROLLED.
There will be NO MORE ARRESTS !!!!
Way to go Adams!! Good job!
Way to right this ship!!!
Have you ever heard ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS???
Make an example of actually disciplining the coaching staff and I guarantee that will filter down to the players through LONG practices and a LOT of wind sprints… That is how it was done in the old days…
Quit babying the team and toughen them up through DISCIPLINE!!
What a S-O-F-T age we have entered…
DISCIPLINE envokes FEAR which enovkes DESIRE TO DO RIGHT…
Maybe after another arrest Adams will TALK to each player ….. Then after another maybe he will hold a press conference ….
DISCIPLINE the football coaching staff by taking away a few perks and I GUARANTEE THEY TRANSFER THAT TO THE TEAM AND GET CONTROL OF THE PLAYERS OR THE ONES THAT KEEP ON WILL HIT THE HIGHWAY..
Heck the seniors are supposed to do this so the coaches do not have to babysit..

As expected, the story line from Richt after the latest loss Saturday (6 losses in the last 8 SEC games)is the same: we played a very good team, we made some mistakes and need to improve, and we are getting better. If this was the storyline at Duke or Vanderbilt, that would sound O.K., but this is Georgia. According to several College Football Magazines this fall, Georgia is considered “one of the top ten most desired coaching positions in the BCS.” An interesting question: Does Georgia have one of the top ten coaching staffs in the BCS? I think not.

Hey Brogens Hero,
Do not get your panties in a wad as you and the rest of these GA fans would be all over Gator fans if the reverse were happening to the Florida program. Until your team actually can win a recent or a few NC’s, you have nothing to say. Do you talking on the field. Otherwise, sit in the stands again while FL plays for the SEC Championship!

“. . . On another topic, Adams said he spoke to “every employee” of the Athletic Association in a recent staff meeting. His message, he said, was: “I want these arrests and off-field problems stopped.”
Maybe he should talk to the athletes! The employees aren’t the ones screwing up!

JD, have you not been paying attention. CMR takes the guys swimming. What more do you want. I’m old enough to remember the days when Woody Hayes, Bear Bryant Erk Russell, all those old school coaches used to take the teams for ice cream and putt putt. Richt has a proven methodology and I see no reason to change now. I’m sure he has enough time put aside on his schedule to make sure that after he gets his spraytan touched up, he and the staff can personally see every player tucked into bed with cookies and milk and a sweet lullaby. If you know of a better way to instill discipline and mental toughness in young men, I’d like to hear it.

Can we simply make an agreement Dawg fans? Lose to Mississippi State – Lose the Coach!!!! I don’t care how you spin it, a loss to Mississippi State proves we are a terrible, TER-RI-BULL-DAWG team at a time when the SEC EAST was up for grabs and our very experienced coach, with years of his own recruits, has led us to a 1-2 start, 0-2 against any team with the potential to play. Another loss to a terrible team would simply make us? What? One of the worst teams in the nation???

How cowardly of the coaches to blame the players. Bobo, Grantham, Richt. It’s the coach’s job to train up the players, make smart calls, and motivate and discipline them. There’s none of that in Athens, Georgia.

I said it last year and I will say it again. The coach and his entire staff need to be fired. The recruiting at UGA is at best “garbage”. 33 of the players on the South Carolina team are from Georgia schools. Wow, now how did they slip out of our hands. Oh wait, I know, we recruited Thugs who showboat at every “perceived great tackle” and forget to play the game while the coaches look on in dumb bewilderment thinking that if you do the same thing over and over you will get different results. Outcoached, outthought and outplayed but a “ready-to-run-when-things-go-wrong” Bobby Petrino. UGA has become a JOKE.

Even when the dawgs are winning – which they’re not – I’ve never understood how anyone – even an alumnus – could support and take pride in UGA’s football team.
Is it Richt’s great salon suntan or those cool looking shades he wears, or is it his red panties?
Just asking.

@Foster Grant who wrote: “How can we continue to have top 10 recruiting classes almost every year and get beat by teams that are lucky if they have a top 30 recruiting class?”
That’s because the recruiting evaluators are fools….and if you just go out and get “Rivals” four/five stars you end up with a defense like Georgia has. Remember…Toby Gerhart was a “two-star” “fullback” and led the nation in rushing last year (should have won the Heisman); Dallas Clark, the best tightend in the NFL, had to walk on at Iowa; Wes Welker barely got a D-1 offer at the last minute and went undrafted. Mark Richt would never have recruited those players or Jake Scott or Scott Woerner to play defense at UGA….think about it.

What is up with that playaction passing? This s–t does not work in the I Formation because the QB has to turn his back for a few moments and then go through his progression and it’s a tough thing to do for a young QB. Please put the kid in shotgun formation and allow him to see the field until he’s fully developed. You can still do playaction with the RB faking the handoff.

Nothing to do with Bobo’s play calling nor Searels’ coaching the O line. Everything to do with starting a RS Freshman QB with no experience; EG standing in the pocket too long, missing checkdowns and progressions, etc. If Mallett were our QB we woulda kicked the R’backs butts. OK, that, and the 3 breakdones on the D. One breakdown can getcha beat; but three spells BIG trouble.
L. Gray really musta been pretty bad in the Spring and Summer for CMR to start Murray.
They WERE fired up and they DID play hard. Just outa position on three big plays. I hate to put it all on the QB, but it boils down to that and 3 big plays.

The problem with georgia is they are not tough mentally or physically. When a team goes away from two a days because they are worried about players getting hurt that is sign of weak team. You train as you fight as the miltitary saying goes!!! The coaching staff was also worried about not being to physical in practice and getting players hurt. When coaches think like that your team will never win. You wonder why players can’t tackle. Another indicator is when a coach has to head butt a player to fire up a player. I was totally embrassed as a Ga Fan and hope we pulled it together.

I figured we’d split (1-1) with SC & Ark, but not shocked by 0-2. A combination of poor play calling (at times), inconsistent play by the OL & poor play by DBs has cost UGA. Part of my says SC & ARK are 2 of the best teams in the SEC this year (& we still have a shot at a 9-3 season), but the skeptic says another 8-5 disappointment. I’m hoping for a turn-around, but won’t be suprised by another letdown.

Harsh Reality
September 20th, 2010
12:36 pm
Richt has made two deciscions that have hurt UGA dearly:
1. Hiring his best friend CWM and promoting him after VanGorder’s departure.
2. Promoting M.Bobo to OC WAAAAY too soon. Bobo is in over his head. When the average fan can predict an OCs play calling what do you think our opponent’s DCs do. Right now if I’m a DC facing UGA I’m licking my chops and breathing a sigh of relief because I know I’ve got an easy week of preperation.
UGA has MAJOR problems right now and those who want to continue to blindly support CMR have their head in the sand.
I’m tired of excuses, I’m tired of watching a coach on the sideline who doesn’t seem to care whether or not we win the game or not. I don’t want to hear any more about that’s his personality, if it is then maybe he’s not suited for coaching. He was able to motivate the team to rally and tie the game, my problem is where was that effort and motivation the first 3 1/2 quarters of the game?!
Now I’m hearing about all this youth we have and they’re learning?!
Are you kidding me?! What happened to we’ve got all this experience around A.Murray. 10 of 11 starters returning and several on the two deep is not youth. Granted we’ve been missing AJ, but he’s ONE player. As I watched college football on Sat. I saw several examples of coaching staffs that do much more with less talent.
Are we to believe that man for man on each roster that Arkansas and SC have better talent than UGA? I’m not knocking the talent on either squad, but my point is the coaching is the difference.
And Bobo blaming Murray for holding the ball too long is the biggest joke of all. The two sacks were because Ealy whiffed on two critical blocks.
As for the last play, BOBO IS COMPLETELY AT FAULT. How do you send everyone 20yds deep on a 3rd and 6 and not have at LEAST ONE checkdown?!!
I’m tired of the coaches trying to lay the blame on the players but we have the “Jimmys and Joes” the problem is the Xs and Os!
Coaches MAN UP and admit you didn’t properly prepare these boys. (Granthum excluded).
Enough excuses how about some answers and results?!

Although we were outplayed and outcoached in each of the last two games, they were both close enough to be wins. Sure, the excuses get old week after week but I believe that CMR has the gonads to improve on all fronts. Two things…….Players have to execute on every play and Bobo has to step it up and call a better game. If that’s done, you will hear some chapel bell ringing on North Campus. From what I read, in 2008 , after our great 2007 season, the buy in for season tickets was 10,000 dollars. This year it was 1,500 bucks. Yeah , that is what will send a message to the athletic association. Change must happen. We’re gonna be broke and losing. Boosters are sending a message with their wallets. It’s just not good enough any damn more.

It’s so funny to see so many of you already giving up on the season and the team. Can’t blame you. You have a pathetic team that may not win more than 4 games this year. Get use to it. You have been trending in that direction so it should be of no surprise to any of you. You just don’t have a good fottball team any more. Just think about it, you have not done anything in 30 yrs.
