(Updated Nov. 5)
Here’s a reminder about Saturday’s game:
Georgia’s game against Idaho State -– the one UGA game this season that isn’t part of the SEC television contracts — will be televised on Channel 2 WSB-TV.
Kickoff will be 12:30 p.m. in Sanford Stadium.
The SEC television contracts with CBS and ESPN allow each school to produce one game per season outside those contracts. Typically that one game is shown on pay-per-view, but Georgia opted to put this year’s on free TV, athletic director Greg McGarity said.
“This free-of-charge broadcast is a way to give back to our fans throughout the state,” McGarity said in September. “We believe making the game available on WSB-TV and its coverage area is a way to show our appreciation to Bulldogs around our state.”
The game will be available in the 53-county Atlanta TV market, as well as on cable systems in Albany, Macon, Savannah, Columbus, Chattanooga, Greenville and Tallahassee, according to UGA. The telecast also will be available on both DirecTV and DISH to subscribers who receive Channel 2 WSB-TV.
UPDATE: Bob Neal will call the play-by-play on the telecast, with analysis from Darryl Jones and sideline reporting from Zach Klein.

I should also not that anyone of these games would upgrade UGA’s strength of schedule in place of Tech.

You Dawg fans who keep repeating “30-24″ like a mantra enjoy yourselves all you want. The thing is… Tech alumni and fans have lives that don’t depend entirely on what a bunch of kids does on Saturday afternoons. College sports are fun to follow, but the biggest reason for going to college is to get an education.
UGA fans don’t seem to care about anything but football, and they don’t care if their players are enrolled in silly majors that no parents who are paying the bills would send their kids to UGA for. The very few football and basketball players who graduate have no job opportunities and end up unemployed or working in menial jobs that hardly require a college degree.
Georgia Tech is a real school with serious academic standards, and that includes scholarshipped athletes. UGA has a long history of being a party school, where parents send their kids for an easy degree, even if the degree itself is practically worthless.
Jan Kemp exposed the crap going on at UGA with athletes being enrolled in courses a ten-year-old kid could pass. That was almost three decades ago, and nothing has changed. If anything, the abuses are more blatant today. Way too many illiterate morons are being recruited, and the very high arrest rate shows clearly that Richt does not care if his players have any morals or self-discipline.
The bottom line is that most Tech fans have very good jobs and productive lives that don’t depend on Tech’s football record for their happiness in life. It would be great to beat UGA more often, but when you put scholar-athletes up against thug-athletes, it’s usually no contest.
It’s pretty pathetic to see UGA fans who typically have never been within miles of a college classroom and who live or die with UGA’s weekly results on the football field.
So keep on posting your “30-24″ all you want, especially since you’re home with plenty of time on your hands. I wish you well, maybe you’ll get lucky and get your old job back at the sawmill before your unemployment checks stop coming.
Or maybe you could sell your red panties collection on eBay.

I gots me a hell of an edumacation at the Institute. I even learned how to count to 5. You see, watch this: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5. Dem skillz come in really handy now wit my great job of holdin da stop sign on da road crew. I’ze needz to know how to count out da seconds an sometimes cars before I switch da sign around. I still mess up sometimes though as some cars crash in to each other. Oh well, thanks Tech for given me dis great job opportunity!

georgia alum here in Texas i have direct TV, espn game plan, all to see my dawgs play, yes i would pay for it on pay per view, so now after that i won’t get to see it? Contrary to popular belief by the Trolls on the blogs, Georgia is cared about outside of georgia residents, i have the proof with my longhorn friends out here. I guess i could check stub hub to get some tickets to the game. Lastly, to say a thanks to the fans around the state does not cut it……alum are nationwide.

Game will be fun to watch. By then the Gators will have self destructed. Have you ever seen a team with so many felons and lack of discipline. They are struggling against small teams and will play hell against any good teams. I cannot believe the total disarray that the Gators are facing. They coddle hard core felons and appease them with 1/2 game penalties against the soft teams. They are not even able to afford that type of punishment now. Whatever it takes to win they will do.

This is too funny! It is Idaho State your FCS ugly sister. I hope the ads cost $10 for a 30 sec. spot. Only UGA would schedule this game this late in the season. After the gators worst team in 20 yrs beats the dawgs they will need a high school game to make them feel good before Auburn beats the dogs. Then a week off for the dogs before Tech. Man what an easy schedule the dogs have for this Rookie QB. Just think the Dogs could be playing for the MNC if Richt had played a QB other than COX last year.

My hometown is one of the very few areas in the country that does not get ABC over the air. Yes, we’re that far in the backwoods. Actually the backwoods of the backwoods as the folks in town can get WSB on cable.
DirecTV does grant permission for us to have ABC, except that your choices are New York and Los Angeles. I’d figure Savannah to be about the same in regards as to how much regard DirecTV gives you.

Let’s not forget what conference the last 4 national champions came from. I realize it’s not UGA but it sure isn’t NC State or UNC or Duke or *shudder* GT. SEC dominates in every bowl game and every conference. Va Tech couldn’t even handle Boise State. ACC is truly Another Crappy Conference.

Hiding behind the SEC skirt? When will you get it that you are an avg team. The SEC plays the weakest OOC games, then say “Oh, we have the toughest conference” You never know because you don’t play anybody Out Of Conference. You wait until teams haven’t played for 70 days in Jan then decide that you are better. Have the SEC strengthen their OOC then talk. Search the internet, over the last decade SEC has the weakest OOC of MAJOR confs.

I have to agree with Mullet, even though I am a Miami fan, you can’t argue Ohio States out-of-conference games the last 8 years. 2 yrs Texas, 2 Years USC, 2 years Oklahoma, and now 2 Years UofM Hurricanes.

12) Ole Miss: Jacksonville State, Tulane, Fresno State, UL-Lafayette. With no BCS teams, one FCS, half the state of Louisiana (the other half) and only plucky Fresno State coming to town, the Rebels have the weakest schedule around, especially with only Tulane being on the road.
