After three consecutive noon-ish starts, Georgia will play its first night game of the season Sept. 25 at Mississippi State.
The game will begin at 7 p.m. Eastern Time and be televised on Fox Sports Net, the SEC announced today.
Other SEC games on Sept 25 include Alabama at Arkansas (3:30 p.m. on CBS) and South Carolina at Auburn (7:45 p.m. on ESPN).
Meanwhile, as previously announced, the Georgia-Arkansas game on Saturday in Sanford Stadium is scheduled for a noon start (or a couple of minutes thereafter). The game will be on ESPN, the SEC said today.
Georgia’s game at South Carolina last week started at noon and the Bulldogs’ season opener against Louisiana-Lafayette at 12:21 p.m.

I am sick and tired hearing about “The Mat Drills”. If we aren’t winning consistently, don’t you all think UGA needs to change its conditioning program?

I agree in part of what you said at 1:34 but Alabama would have beaten SC by 40 points . You have to have a leader on the team and Garcia ,ain’t him. Sometimes all you have to do is hand the ball off to a running back 37 times. Garcia missed wide open receives that would have scored, at least 2 times. Spurrier did what it took to win the game. On the other hand CMR and Bobo has Murray scared to death to run the ball. When UGA was down inside the 20 one of the times, Murray missed Orson over the middle and UGA had to settle for a field goal . Murray may have missed a wide open Orson and that’s on him , if that’s what happened . But he could have run for 8 or ten yards. The run was open on that play but Bobo has Murray so scared to run, half of why Murray was so great in high school is neutralized.
Really?

CBB1 – I agree with you about UGA getting handled up front however I am not sure it was due to lack of conditioning as much of lack of passion and fire. I was on UGA’s sideline for the game this past weekend and I didn’t see any fire on the sideline. The players were very lackadaisical. When they came off the field they went straight to the bench and sat down. I didn’t see any passion or fire.

Wow! Told you morons SC would run all over UGA.
However, it is only ONE Loss – but UGA needs to beat Arkansas this weekend. Good thing for UGA that Tennessee is in complete rebuild mode and that Kiffin is gone. Kiffin would have beaten that UGA butt – again!
If UGA gets beat by Arkansas this weekend – UGA is staring at a 5 to 6 loss season. I doubt it would happen – based on talent – but there is some serious preparedness issues at UGA.
I expected us to run on UGA – and I stated that BOBO would come out too conservative – would have to play catch – up and that SC would salt it away at the end.
BOBO “played” scared – and UGA lost.
UGA defense – switchig to a 3/4 – will struggle at times with the new system. Rambo standing there confused. UGA not putting the BEEF in the middle really hurt as we atacked your inside.
AJ Green not the issue – BOBO and no NT was the issue.

ESPN is the absolute worst. I understand the incessant commercials; it was the league’s decision to go for the gold and this is the downside. The SEC gets a potful of money and we have to either TIVO the game or sit through commercial after commercial after commercial.
Ok, that’s bad enough, but PUHLEASE do a better job of producing the broadcast. We don’t give a rat’s patookie about constantly having to see Bob Davie and the other guy talk. We’d MUCH rather see a replay of the previous play. It’s bad enough having to listen to them. Also, anyone watching an SEC game would much rather see EVERY play of the game than miss a few to get the update of Washington State vs. Oregon Technical college.

A new DC ( $750 ), a new 3-4 schema, and the same ole crappy defense. I thought this guy was here to stress tackling? Lattimore is a power runner and you can’t bring him to the ground by bumping him. There were really no adjustments in the second half, when SC needed to secure the game they gave it back to Lattimore and he ate up time and yardage.
Murray did ok considering. He wasn’t pressured that much, but he did miss a possble touchdown to Charles with the pass behind him in the redzone and it also looked like Durham was waiting on his 55 yarder as well. Correct that and you have a ballgame.

CBB1,
Normally I’d agree with you about one player not making a difference, but when that player is AJ Green I disagree. He torched South Carolina’s secondary last year, and he has the ability to put a team on his back and score 1-2 TD’s a game. If Aaron Murray had him in the lineup, it would have been nasty. Now I’ll give South Carolina credit and say that it would have been a close game, but I think the Dawgs would have pulled it out 20-17 or 23-20 had AJ played. South Carolina was the better team Saturday, but if these two teams played again with AJ back, the defense working out the kinks: Yes I think the Dawgs win. The fact that South Carolina ran all over this team and only put up 17 points shows you that they are not that great, because an elite team like Florida or Alabama would have hung 30-40 points on our defense if we played like that against them.

A lot of you don’t think Green would have made a difference. I totally disagree. When Green is in the line up other team have no choice but to double and some times triple team him or he will have over 200 yards easily. That opens up everything. Others receivers, Fullback out of the backfield, and the run. Totally different game. Spurrier would have had to rely on Garcia and he would have choked.

No excuses, and this certainly didn’t make or break the game but I found this little gem and I thought I’d share it.
By Matt Zemek
Yes, the people who review plays in the booth or officiate on the field are sincerely trying to do their best. They’re not bought off and paid for. They are making an honest attempt to provide players, coaches and fans with a legitimate competition that is fairly adjudicated.
However, just two weeks into the season, we’ve already had our fill of unconscionable embarrassments served up in both the booth and on the field.
In the booth, the SEC – which presided over the atrocious non-call against LSU in its loss to Alabama last season – jobbed Georgia in its game against South Carolina.
Replay clearly showed that South Carolina receiver Justice Cunningham was dragged down by a Georgia defender at the 33-yard line, just under a full yard short of the yellow line (which is very accurate, certainly within 2-3 inches). Yet, an absurd forward-progress spot put the ball at the 34, good enough for a first down. Georgia coach Mark Richt smartly challenged the ruling, which should have been a slam dunk. Yet, the replay-booth reviewer at Williams-Brice Stadium upheld the ruling on the field.
There are no words for that kind of self-evident incompetence. None.
go figure....
