Game time, TV set for Georgia-Mississippi State

After three consecutive noon-ish starts, Georgia will play its first night game of the season Sept. 25 at Mississippi State.

The game will begin at 7 p.m. Eastern Time and be televised on Fox Sports Net, the SEC announced today.

Other SEC games on Sept 25 include Alabama at Arkansas (3:30 p.m. on CBS) and South Carolina at Auburn (7:45 p.m. on ESPN).

Meanwhile, as previously announced, the Georgia-Arkansas game on Saturday in Sanford Stadium is scheduled for a noon start (or a couple of minutes thereafter). The game will be on ESPN, the SEC said today.

Georgia’s game at South Carolina last week started at noon and the Bulldogs’ season opener against Louisiana-Lafayette at 12:21 p.m.

From earlier today:

Gamecocks ‘really controlled line of scrimmage,’ Spurrier says; does that mean changes for Dogs?

I love night games.

I know the old timers who have season tickets, and live all over South Georgia hate having to drive home or make it an overnight trip, and I know the school itself hates what the extra tailgating time does to the campus.

Even though this is an away game, I love being able to relax all day, watch other games, then consider UGA’s the main event of my day.

Case in point this past weekend, when we play at noon, and decide to forget how to takle, it ruins the rest of my day. There was too much good football on this past Saturday that I wanted nothing to do with or watch. Night games, if we slip up, I can just go to bed.

Looking forward to seeing adjustments this coming weekend, and NOT having to see Lattimore for another year.

GO DAWGS!!!

This should be a game a 2 evenly matched teams. Should be a close to see which one finishes above the other.

did anybody see Mississippi State’s Quarterback last Thursday night? AWFUL. Plus they have no running game. This should be a close-to-guarantee win for the Dawgs. IF they tackle that is.

THANKS AJ YOU MORON…..JUST WHEN THINGS LOOK LIKE THEY MIGHT BE HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, YOU GO AND DO THIS CRAP TO THE TEAM. I AM ONE OF THE PROBABLY VERY FEW THAT HOPE AND PRAY THE NCAA MAKES YOU SIT 4 GAMES. I ALSO AM ONE WHO WOULD LIKE COACH RICHT TO MAKE A STATEMENT TO THE REST OF THE TEAM AND RELEASE YOU. AT LEAST COST YOU SOME NFL MONEY. YOU SEE, AJ…WHILE YOU TALK SMACK IN THE SPRING AND TWEET SMACK LIKE YOU DID THIS PAST WEEKEND AFTER YOUR TEAMMATES GOT THEIR BUTTS KICKED IS WHAT THIS TEAM SEEMS TO DO BEST…..GROW UP MORON

Sanford & Son Dr….nothing is easy for Dawgs and there is never a guarantee. Yes, I did see MS qb but don’t expect the same. The kid can play. Maybe Richt will get the grip back on his dawgs before they all become convicts. Sorry about that but damn I’m mad at the sorry run football program.

I don’t think there is a guarantee win for UGA when it comes to SEC schools, the way GA played this weekend any SEC team can beat them. Better start tackling then we MIGHTbeat someone!

I totally agree , the reason UGA won last year was because of Green and they would have won this year if Green had played. Lattimore would have run the ball a lot less if Green had been there because SC would have had to play catch up ball and that means rely of only an average QB in Garcia. Garcia wouldn’t have gotten the job done. All SC has on offense is Lattimore. Also If , the sorriest excuse for a offensive coordinator in college football, Bobo had let Murray run the ball when his receiver we covered UGA would have won.

I agree that the poor tacking/disappointing loss this weekend ruined the football experience for the rmainder of the weekend for me. I know I wasn’t the only one screaming at my TV on Saturday afternoon. If I see another Dawg trying to tackle with one side of his shoulder pad I’m going to lose it. You have arms for a reason boys! Take those arms and wrap them around those legs. You will have a much better shot at stopping that opposing player.

Kudos to Lattimore, he is obviously talented but he should not have had the numbers he did when he was hit 2 or 3 times before actually being taken down.

Todd Grantham, for the love of all that is holy….please work on tackling drills this week!

…and GO DAWGS! Losing sucks, but once a DAWG FAN always a DAWG FAN!!

Joe, et al., you’re not going anywhere and you’ll continue to toss money at the program. This is merely a blip in the magnificent history of the mighty Bulldogs. We won a national championship last century, we’ve got 90 more years to capture the magic for this one.

76 dawg, What game did you watch on Saturday? Do you not think even if you had Green that would have altered SC’s game plan ? It wouldnt have mattered if you had Jerry Rice in his prime , Georgia still loses that game because they are not the better team, SC is !
Just like a typical Ga Homer to tell us how if , if , if and if and just wait until…………………..
Since GA last NC , Tennessee, Florida, Alabama , LSU havent waited nor given excuses. Wake the Hell up !

Try not to get too down. Oklahoma looked great. I think FL State will have a couple more down years with new coach even though he has been there. I think it will be AL, OK or Ohio State in the BCS Championship anyway with AL taking it again. I just want you guys to start beating the Gaytors again!!

Dawgtards will be completely out of the running after the beatdown by Arkansas this week.

Arkansas 42, UGAy 20

Wash-Out Ealey will fumble twice, while AJ Green will be on the sidelines looking thuggish and sending dozens of stupid texts and tweets to his moron buddies.

I say if we put our season on 1 player AJ or who ever then were not Georgia. Georgia has never depended on 1 player when we had Walker his back up was very good C. Norris our off. Line lost that game.

Two people on UGA need to be fired , right now. BOBO and the CONDITIONING coach. Did you see see what kind of shape Alabama’s team was in . Those guy’s could beat a lot of Pro teams right now . Alabama would have beaten UGA by 50 points. UGA isn’t close to Alabama as far as strength and conditioned bodies.

I am a UGA Alum and season ticket holder and I don’t think having Green would have won the game for UGA. May have scored one more TD, but SC would have pulled it out. Green didn’t play and won’t for 2 more games. It only makes the GA fans look like they have no confidence in the players on the field without Green. We did fine without him last year, didn’t we? This is the best SC team Spurrier has had since he has been there. Lattimore is going to be a problem for the majority of defenses this year. I really believe AL will see them in the SEC Championship game in December. Then we will see how good that Freshman is, which is really good. I bet you he will gain 1500 yards this year. He is a stud. GA fans can’t get too down with a new QB and new D coordinator. Richt should have played Murray some last year and let Martinez go after the 2008 season. Thought he learned his lesson when he redshirted Moreno in 2006. UGA will be lucky to win 8-9 games this year. Don’t sleep on Miss State on their field. They are a good team also.

76 Dawg,
I agree with the conditioning of our players. SC was in better shape than us. I think Dave Van Halenger has worn out his welcome. I heard this about him a few years ago that he is still using FL State’s conditioning program from the 1990’s and you see how FL State has gone down. We need a new, young, energetic guy in there. But he came to GA with Richt and we all know how long it takes Richt to make changes because of his loyalty.

Dogs Smell – UGA had the ball three times inside the 15 yard line. They score TD’s that means the score is 21-17 rather than 17-6 with the two FG’s and fumble. So actually one player maybe could have made the difference and the game was closer then you will admit.

Wow – how exciting!

Two mid to lower conference schools duking in out.
Maybe Ole Miss vs Vandy can be the back end of a compelling double header!!!

UGA is in trouble.
Get beat by Arkansas this Saturday – your season is toast in regards to winning the SEC East.

What did I recently read?
UGA is 10-11 in last 21 SEC EAST games.
– lost 3 of last 4 against Florida
– lost 3 of last 4 against Tennessee
– split 2 of last 4 against KY
– split 2 of last 4 against SC
– won 3 of last 4 against Vandy.
– However, UGA did lead the SEC East in arrests this year!!!

I was hoping UGA would be undefeated coming into JAX. Now, whast the hell – go Hogs, go Bullies, whatever, UGA’s program is in DEEP trouble.

UGA is 10-21 in last 21 SEC EAST games vs Mississippi State.

Really?

Really,
Van Halenger has had some health issues recently which has made him lighten his work load. This is coming from people inside Butts Mehre. I think we need some changes in that area. Other people close to the program agree. He is a great guy but you have to admit, UGA got handled up front on Saturday. Can you imagine playing AL?????
