Notes and quotes from Richt’s news conference (updated)
ATHENS – A few notes and quotes from Mark Richt’s news conference today:
- Richt’s opening comment: “It’s good to be undefeated.”
- And a bit later: “First game of the year. I know our guys will be excited. . . . We’re just looking forward to playing, looking forward to getting it kicked off, just see what we’ve got.”
- This is the healthiest Georgia has entered a season in a long time, Richt said. Among players who otherwise would or might play, linebacker Richard Samuel (leg) and center Chris Burnette (concussion) are the only ones who’ll miss the game with injuries, Richt said.
- Richt on Aaron Murray’s first start as Georgia’s quarterback: “He’s human. He’s a freshman. He’s going to have nerves like everybody else. I’m a 50-year-old man, and I’ll be nervous, too, which is a good thing.”
- More on Murray: “Hopefully our fans will realize that he’s a freshman. He’s a rookie. He’s going to make mistakes. He probably won’t just be lights-out as far as his accuracy or decisions and all of those things. I mean, he’s going to be finding his way and hopefully his teammates will help him out, offensively and defensively and in the kicking game.”
- Richt again had no comment when asked if players have been cleared by the NCAA inquiry that was launched in July. “Well, this is a subject that I’m just not allowed to make comment on, so I’ll just keep it like that.” (A.J. Green took the same approach after practice Tuesday. “Can’t say anything” about it, he said. Asked if he has any doubt he’ll be able to play Saturday despite the inquiry, Green said: “No. I don’t know. I can’t say anything.”
- Richt reiterated his year-long message to the players that turnovers must be sharply reduced from a year ago. “That’s a big part of what we’re talking about. The goal is to at least make the opponent beat us. Let’s not beat us. Let’s see how good we can be if we don’t help [the opponent]. Let’s try that and see how it goes.”
- Caleb King will get additional carries because of Washaun Ealey’s suspension, but “he’s ready,” Richt said. “He’s in great condition. Carlton [Thomas] also will have to step up, and Freddie Munzenmaier might get a few totes at tailback, too.”

We will see on the discipline.
If you tell a guy he can’t drive a car because he has a suspended license and he does so anyway, that is a sign of poor discipline.
I wouild like to see UGA not beat themselves as happened a couple of times last year. I do not mind getting beat; I detest giving a game away.

I’m sick of people saying that Florida has never gone undefeated. What does ‘undefeated’ really mean anyway? We won 2 of the last 4 national titles. The Florida gators last year wear the best college football team of all time. So who needs to go ‘undefeated’ when you win titles baby!

Forget the discipline. Richt has shown clearly that it’s win at any cost and to hell with discipline, either on or off the field.
And all he has to show for it is a huge beatdown every year by Florida and a string of 43 arrests.

i cannot find PEACHTREE TV. ch 651 is BRAVES TV
and they are advertising the UGA game during the
braves telecasts, but i can’t find peachtree tv.

Mike at Lake Hartwell…..Peachtree TV is a local Atlanta channel 17 foe Direct TV. If your Direct TV Local TV line up has the Atlanta Channels then you get the Peachtree tv but I think yours is from a South Carolina line up so you wont get it. The Braves are on Peachtree TV tonight here that is why you are hearing about the televised Georgia game on your Braves TV there. I don’t think unless your channel 651 broadcasts it that you will get it.

This is unreal, this question should not come up, the coaches should show some confidence in the 2nd team, this qb situation has been a thorn now to long. Who else would you play,maybe Branden Smith,the offensive side is starting to look like the defense has for the last couple of years(this problem should have been addressed before now if this year doesn’t show offensive improvement it is time to move, Todd Grantham had to tell us we needede to recruit the stat of Ga,give me a break. The time is NOW, let the dawgs out!!!!!!!!!

The NCAA mandates the minimum one-game suspension for arrests, not UGA. Richt always uses LA Lafeyette, TN Tech, or AR State to get his mandatory suspensions out of the way. Danelle Ellerby was an exception. He got two games for a series of felonies. Richt’s other poster child, Odell Thurman, also got two games for multiple offenses.

That QB over at GT is a beast, I will agree with that, but I will assure you Mr. Josh as good as he may be, will get broken in half by mid-way through the season. First of all, why is there any question about A.J.? Is there a reason why we should think he was not telling everyone the truth about Miami and agents. Richt had better hope not. Richt had also better hope that Murray is the real deal. He sounds like he’s trying awful hard to manage expectations. I can tell you that the new A.D. has major expectations. So do many of the people who give very large amounts of money to the atheletic dept. at UGA. McGarity already knows this. I was talking to a good friend who has given millions to UGA’s atheletic dept., and he has already expressed his concerns to the new A.D. Richt wants everyone to take his B.S. as the Gospel, but everything he says sounds pretty stupid. I saw a comment from Richt, “King will probably have a bigger workload because of Ealey’s suspension”. What he had better mean is King will get many, many, more carries this week. King just is not a UGA quality starter at tailback, and I know Richt is mad at Ealey, but he is far and away the best back we have. He will have to be very ready next week when the season starts, and Richt will have to feed him the against real teams in order to win them. I guess it’s easy to be in a good mood when you are playing ULL, but beginning next week the expectations will be there whether he likes it or not. The people in the media who say Richt is on the hot seat are a lot closer to being right than some people know. Richt has recruited a lot of positions pretty well lately, but there is no excuse for being in the situation we are in at tailback and quarterback right now.

Wonder…Aaron Murray is well into his second year at UGA and a rookie. Richt and others keep harping about that and it is a big concern. Richt is trying to reduce expections and lessen the pressure on Murray I’m sure, but is there more to it? Is the coach trying to “set the table” for Murray? If the opener were not a cream puff, I would think so. Maybe there’s not much Richt wants to talk about, so he keeps repeating well known information…wonder

Serious Dawg fans need to start organizing and demanding that Richt be fired. Otherwise, sports writers will be asking the same questions this time a year from now.
Richt represents mediocrity. Saban and Meyer represent excellence and championships. Richt simply isn’t in their class, nor will he ever be. Richt would have to be incredibly lucky to win the division, and the odds against him winning the SEC championship would be at least 50:1.
Those are the simple facts, and there’s no amount of enthusiasm or cheerleading or Top 5 recruiting classes that can get around it.

It’s kind of sad to see all the Dawg fans getting so excited this year (just like the year before, the year before that, etc.). How long is it going to take for UGA fans to realize that UGA is simply no longer relevant in the SEC? In the national picture, UGA isn’t even a blip on the radar, and hasn’t been since the preseason #1 ranking two years ago.
Sit back and be grateful for the seven or eight wins you’ll get every year. Coaching genius Mark Richt may take you to 8-4 or even 9-3 occasionally, but Florida will still win the SEC, meaning no BCS bowls and no top 10 final ranking. Most years, UGA will be very lucky to finish in the top 25, and only after a big bowl win over a nobody opponent.
It’s a different world now, and Dawg fans need to adjust their expectations downward to reflect reality.
Unfortunately nothing is going to change until UGA changes its mediocre coaching. That’s where the difference is, and that’s why everyone outside Dawgtard Nation just laughs at Dawg fans getting so excited year after year about what a great recruiting class UGA gets. It doesn’t matter how many blue chip high school players go to UGA, they simply don’t get the coaching they would get at Florida or Alabama, to name two schools whose programs are far ahead of UGA. And that’s not going to change as long as Mark Richt is in Athens.
Get your heads out of the sand and face reality. And mediocrity and irrelevance.

Minimum Mark, if there is an NCAA suspension rule for arrests, why are the two Gators arrested for the same thing as Tavarres, not missing any games? Why are the 8 Notre Damers arrested for the same thing not missing any games? Why are no Vols except the one expelled not missing any games for their part in the bar fight, since several were arrested?
The answer is that Richt uses actions not words.

Imagine the high number of schools that would absoutely love to have participated in 3 of the last 9 Sugar bowls and two of the last 9 Capitol One bowls and one or two of the last 9 Outbacks. Imagine how they would be so proud of that. Some schools have not been to a major bowl, like the Orange, since the late 1960s. Some have not been to the Sugar Bowl since the mid or early 1950s. See?
Imagine how many schools would relish the opportunity to proclaim that “my school is the ONLY ONE to win at least 8 games or more over the last 13 years”.
UGA has no NC’s lately, then fine …………..but we are one of the most successful programs over many years. Look it up.
One major bowl since 1967, simply does not make a program. A big time program attends manjor bowls like UGA ………….Sugar Bowl three times over 9 years, two Capitol One and an Outback. UGA fans do not count the Fil A or the Gator as majors, nor do we count the Weedeater or the Blue Carpet or the Emerald City, or the Micron Bowl, or even the Aloha Bowl.
ACC fans need to get ready for their SECOND PLACE team to go to the Independence Bowl, as that is their new contractual deal. Can you imagine the bowl drop off from there for the rest of that conference???

Um.. sure he’s a freshmen, except he enrolled early in 2009. So he’s actually been through two spring camps, two summer camps, and a fall of practices. I’d say Richt is not happy with his progress to date.

We had this discussion about MAJOR BOWLS on another thread. I am the first to admit that UGA has certainly been to more “major” bowls than Tech over recent history. But UGA fans sound STUPID claiming that the Outback Bowl is a major bowl. It picks the 4th SEC team!!!! And if the CAPITAL ONE bowl is a major bowl, then so is the Chick-fil-A, because both typically take the runner up in the SEC and ACC, respectively.

Chick fil a takes the runnerup from the ACC vs the 5 or 6 seed from the SEC. That is the difference in the power of the conferences. It take a higher rated ACC team to be competitive with a lower rated SEC team.

(хотя по завещанию умершая являлась наследницей всего имущества.Банк ответил на запрос указав что наследницей является сестра умершая, нотариус потому и в курсе, а про квартиру она не знает. Может ли такое быть?Она (нотариус) говорила именно о вкладах что-то…вроде вклад 1997 года, поэтому та сестра (наследница, которая уже тоже умерла) уже вступила в наследство при жизни, т.к по вкладам до 2002 года ей не требовалось получать свидетельство о праве на наследство, мол, она могла бы хоть на следующий день пойти и получить деньги по вкладу просто по свидетельству о смерти…Может здесь собака порылась? Может в этом разница получается между квартирой и вкладом?В наследство по квартире она не вступила при жизни, а в наследство по вкладу вступила? Поэтому ее сын может претендовать на эти деньги, а на квартиру нет, коли пропустил срок.. или как? Ни чего не понимаю… добровольное страхование авто, мазда 3 каско, правила каско вск 1. квартира в многоквартирном доме строилась на средства застройщика (на нее не заключен ни один ДДУ, и соответственно не претендует ни один дольщик)2. дом сдан в эксплуатацию3. на квартиру наложено обременение (ипотека) на основании ст 13 п3 214-фз4. на квартиру заключен договор купли-продажи (поскольку в егрп запись об обременении была изначально не внесена – типа ошибочка)4. все передаточные акты подписаны5. фрс отказывает в снятии обременения на основании инструкции минюста №82, по которой снять обременение можно ТОЛЬКО после регистрации права собственности ВСЕХ дольщиков. регистрация договора купли-продажи приостановлена6. 21.06 – вступает в силу 119-фз , вносящий нужные мне поправки7. 2.07 – суд отказывает мне(была жалоба на действие или бездействие должностных лиц, с требованием обязать фрс снять обременение), мотивируя тем, что не может руководствоваться новыми поправками , поскольку обременение было наложено ДО введения поправок. плюс судья нашла решение ВС по аналогичному случаю, в котором сказано , что обременение накладывается на ВЕСЬ дом, а не на отдельные квартиры8.повторно 30.06. в уфрс застройщиком подано заявление о снятии обременения на данную квартиру.вопрос: будет ли уже действовать 119-фз, или уфрс может отказать в регистрации мотивируя снова тем, что обременение наложено ДО вступления в силу 119-фз ?? по инструкии №82 минюста (которую никто не отменял) снимется только после регистрации прав собственности всех дольщиков? может ли фрс приостановить регистрацию, придравшись к передаточным актам (на суде представителем фрс высказывались сомнения в подлинности подписей на передаточных актах)для меня это остро, поскольку из-за выданной этим же УФРС выписки из ЕГРП на данную квартиру, в которой не было записи об обременении, на покупку был выдан ипотечный кредит, и теперь при отказе в регистрации мы влетаем на проценты за два месяца , плюс 120 000 ушедщие на оформление кредита.9. и что еще можно сделать??? обидно до соплей. в 119-фз явно сказано, что на квартиры, построенные за счет средств застройщика обременение не накладывается. плюс там четко теперь прописано, что залог снимается с момента подписания передаточных актов. расчет страховки осаго, осаго со скидкой, полис осаго калькулятор альфа До 50 000 руб. Je ne suis pas certain d’être au bon section mais je n’en ai pas trouvé de meilleure .
Je réside à Macamic, usa. J’ai 25 années et j’ai 5 très gentils enfants qui sont tous âgés entre sept ou 16 ans (1 est adoptée ). J’adore beaucoup les animaux et je fais de mon mieux de leur présenter les items qui leur rendent l’existance plus festive .
Merci dors et déjà pour toutes les très “à propos” délibérations dans le futur et je vous remercie surtout de votre compassion pour mon français moins qu’idéal : ma langue de naissance est l’arabe et je tempte d’éviter les erreurs mais c’est très complexe !
