UGA releases new depth chart

Georgia released a new football depth chart today, five days before the season opener. No big surprises, although a couple of notables:

– Listed as first-teamers on the defensive line are Brandon Wood at left end, DeAngelo Tyson at nose and Demarcus Dobbs at right end. Tyson also is expected to play extensively at left end, in which case Justin Anderson would play nose.

Branden Smith is listed as the No. 1 punt returner.

Nick Williams is the starter at strong safety, with Jakar Hamilton the No. 2 free safety.

– As expected, Orson Charles is ahead of last year’s starter, Aron White, at tight end.

– As expected, true freshman Hutson Mason is the No. 2 quarterback behind Aaron Murray.

The complete depth chart:

I wish my team was worth following. Nobody ever posts anything worth while about my JV team over on the Tech blogs. So I am going to come over here andmake fun of you for being the #1 party school in the nation. Because obviously, if I think that’s insulting, i truly belong at Tech.

Please stop recruiting so well. I am sick of watching you guys beat the crap out of my bees 8 times a decade.

Alright, I am going to go play Humans vs. Zombies now…… andmaybe go to Blake’s omn thePark tonight for the drag show. Theres just nothing fun, or safe, to do in Atlanta.

Here is my blog explaining the Zombie game…… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEdkLVzHUO4 oh bother…….
Zombies will eat you but RUSS & the new uga viii just licks his footballs while siting in Athens Clarke County Jail North aka uga’s dawh house in Sanford stadium aka the “cessepool of the south”.

Congratulations on the most factually vacant, thoroughly vapid post of the day! By the way, ctrl+b will allow to make comments without bolding them.

A lot of quality depth on that chart, both sides on the ball. If the QB is good, this team will roll.

Glad to see Durham get the starting nod at SE & Mason #2 at QB. If the OL stands strong (& stays healthy), the offense should be productive.

I’m sick of people saying that Florida has never gone undefeated. What does ‘undefeated’ really mean anyway? We won 2 of the last 4 national titles. The Florida gators last year wear the best college football team of all time. So who needs to go ‘undefeated’ when you win titles baby!
Go Gators!

SSIgator,

While I agree that UF has been one of the great teams of the last 10 years, they were not the best team last year. They got spanked in the SEC championship game by the best team last year–which incidentally happened to be undefeated.
UGA fans might mention UF no being undefeated and getting 2 shots and NCs b/c UGA was not afforded the same with 1 loss in 2002…

Being a Tech grad – growing up rooting for both teams – do not mind the healthy banter – but some of the CRAP done on both sides is extremely childish.

I hate UGA when we play you – otherwise – I root for UGA in the SEC and in their bowl game.

It’s up to Tech to beat UGA – and win the ACC and beyond.

Our State is blessed to have both schools – both in the top 20 Public list in US NEWS & WORLD REPORT.

With that said – I think UGA is the sleeper in the SEC EAST – and will have a great shot at Florida this year.

I will be rooting for UGA to be undefeated – until TECH visits ATHENS and we ruin your season with a blow out win!!

BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!!!!

Let’s hope the offense will give some of the underclass men on the offensive line substantial game time experience, since we will loose 3 starters (as stated on this blog). Plan for the future.

im biased, but the dawgs are loaded with talent. i know the team is young in area’s, but ‘IF’ georgia can come full circle by mid season. we could see a cpl needed upsets?!?! UGA has to try to atleast be 2-1 or better the first 3 games to be in contention in the east.

Tim Tucker, I agree with Joey on the first and third names….didn’t find any issues with McDawg although it has nothing to do with anything relevant. Also, a yellow flag for Turkey Caller @ 6:52. There’s no room for all this nonsense and profanity on a blog that any of my kids, nieces, and nephews could be reading.

Depth chart looks good, however, I would like to see where Tavarres King would be listed if he weren’t suspended.

I was struck how close in height and weight the two-deep at each position on offense was to each other. It’s like each starter is backed up by his clone, with a few exceptions.

“Murray was 5′11″ in his junior year in high school. He grew 2 inches, now he is 6′1″

Boy people will believe anything….note to people never ever believe media height and weight figures….everyone who saw the G-day game knows that Murray is barely 5-10, but who knows Doug Flutie’s come along every single year.

The bigger issue with Murray really is that he has extremely small hands for a major college QB, hence the reason he wore the tacky glove to increase his hold on the football.

5 ‘ 10 ” and 198 lbs dripping wet, small guy, prone to injury, throws lots of interceptions, doesn’t know offense, isn’t prepared, split time at # 1 with Logan Gray now a WR all Spring, last Fall missed 21 practices having been allowed to throw his arm out but that isn’t Mike Bobo or Coach Richt’s fault either, broke leg and ankle injury tackled by a 5 ‘ 9 ” 159 lbs linebacker in high school

we have failed to prepare a QB as we did not in 2006 with 4 losses and 2009 with 5 losses and now AGAIN 2010 with 2 LOSSES to Florida and Alabama, the ONLY 2 teams we will play who will end up Top 25 Final AP Poll on our entire schedule, including the bowl game against another nobody team in a bowl game for Coach Richt – his 10th straight such bowl opponent – NOT on National Stage in Bowl Games EVER
