UGA releases new depth chart

Georgia released a new football depth chart today, five days before the season opener. No big surprises, although a couple of notables:

– Listed as first-teamers on the defensive line are Brandon Wood at left end, DeAngelo Tyson at nose and Demarcus Dobbs at right end. Tyson also is expected to play extensively at left end, in which case Justin Anderson would play nose.

Branden Smith is listed as the No. 1 punt returner.

Nick Williams is the starter at strong safety, with Jakar Hamilton the No. 2 free safety.

– As expected, Orson Charles is ahead of last year’s starter, Aron White, at tight end.

– As expected, true freshman Hutson Mason is the No. 2 quarterback behind Aaron Murray.

Anderson is not going to start at NT?

He needs to.

Tyson is a monster on the outside.

My guess is that anderson eventually starts.

the crimson tide troll gets on here and starts spouting off about Anderson being wasted and should be playing offensive line in

Did Murray grow a couple of inches taller? Not a slam on him but from all I have read, I thought he was 5′11″ or so…

No matter who starts, its already stated that players will rotate out. So if there are some players you thought would start the first game and are not, their still going to play. Me personally I want whoever the coaches feel is best on the field that can help us win. There are some guys I favor but, right now I don’t care I want us to win.

Forget AJ Green, the NCAA is about to out him for the South Beach debacle.

And Murray will be collecting bench splinters after the SC game.

UGA folks can brag all you want to about beating Tech in football most years, and that’s perfectly fair. What’s also fair is to point out that with a history of Jan Kemp (Vince Dooley days), Jim Harrick, and now Damon Evans, UGA is truly “The Cesspool of the South,” and is richly deserving of that title. No one outside of Georgia has any respect for UGA or its athletic department, and that is a fact. It has been said many times: “Tech people are proud of their school, Georgia people are proud of their team.” What a legacy to be proud of!

UGA fans can now return to your mobile home parks and resume waiting for your unemployment checks.

And watching those red panties falling from the sky, always a good time-killer for thUGA dawgtards.  :-)  :-)  :-)

I wish my team was worth following. Nobody ever posts anything worth while about my JV team over on the Tech blogs. So I am going to come over here andmake fun of you for being the #1 party school in the nation. Because obviously, if I think that’s insulting, i truly belong at Tech.

Please stop recruiting so well. I am sick of watching you guys beat the crap out of my bees 8 times a decade.

Alright, I am going to go play Humans vs. Zombies now…… andmaybe go to Blake’s omn thePark tonight for the drag show. Theres just nothing fun, or safe, to do in Atlanta.

As far as academics, coming out of school my senior year in high school it was harder to get into UGA than it was your beloved trade school off North Avenue. And that is a fact.

And yeah, we do like to drink and party. SO WHAT! WE ARE IN COLLEGE! And yeah, we do like to make good grades too. Don’t forget that.

So get back to your Bunsen Burner and stop complaining.

Great to be a Georgia BullDawg.
Great to playing football in the SEC.

I cannot wait for the season to start.
This will be the year of the Dawg!
Monster Offense
Much Improved defense
And they will eliminate the supid penalties that have plagued them the past 3 years.

Whats so great about college football. You can see games Thursday-Sunday for the next 3 and half months! Love it.

Even Georgia State will have a team.
One day Georgia Tech might have a team.
Until then, to hell with Tech.

Only lose 2 seniors out of top 10 on OL.

Looks like linebackers will suffer the most graduation losses.

where does “12-2″ get that it is this year or never?

Looks like we will be stocked quite well in 2011.

I know he wants to wear the Red-n-Black, but I don’t want the young man hurt even more. Go to class Sturdivant. I hope it all works in your favor. Looks good. The only point of concern that I can see (other than QB inexperience) is that the DL seems to be a bit undersized. Hopefully, Anderson and Geathers can take over at nose soon and allow Tyson to go permanently to his more natural end position. Until then, we may be more susceptible to teams with big, physical backs.

I’m nervous already and it’s only Monday and we’re playing Sister Mary’s Deaf, Dumb & Blind School otherwise known as the “Rajin Cajuns”.

The key to the whole season to me is the play of Murray. He needs to play significantly better than Joe Cox if Georgia is going to be a contender in the East. He’s also going to have to improve on his 50% pass completions. His stats in pre-season haven’t been overwhelming to say the least. I think he’ll get some help from his backs once Ealey comes back for the SC game. King should be able to carry the load against the Rajun Wanks. If Bobo is smart he’ll have Murray attempt a lot of short high percentage throws (i.e. West Coast type offense). I’d also move him outside the pocket frequently to give him the option to run. That will keep the D honest.

I’m not concerned about the Defense. I think Grantham & Co. will have these boys ready to play and play significantly better than last year. I expect a much higher take away percentage this year. I love our DB’s… we are loaded. Our 2nd unit guys would be starting at most SEC schools. The LB’s are a bit of a mystery, but we’ll see how they do. We have a beefy line with some nice depth.

Hey, we’ve got to improve on last year. No directional kicks is worth at least one game!!!

PS – Tech absolutely sucks!

Hey Randall here are a few questions off the top of my head about the Joke by the Coke

How many gt football games were vacated for academic cheating (gt’s spin clerical error)?
How did Joe Hamilton work out as a FB coach at gt (weed -n- hooch)?
How many one and done BB players have gone through gt (BB factory)?
Who was the baseball player that died from an heroin overdose?
What was the name of the proud gt football graduate who ended up working as a janitor (Sammy Drummer)?
Why did Bobby Ross leave gt (disgusted with the football player’s sulking)?
Why are gt fans so obsessed with UGA?
