Inching toward its 58th consecutive home sellout, Georgia has fewer than 200 tickets remaining for Saturday’s football opener against Louisiana-Lafayette, associate athletic director Alan Thomas said this morning.
A large block of tickets became available to the opener when Louisiana-Lafayette relinquished most of its allotment. The Ragin’ Cajuns were contractually entitled to 4,500 tickets but wound up selling 490, Thomas said last week. That left UGA with the other 4,010 to sell.
If the remaining tickets are sold, Georgia’s streak of consecutive home sellouts will extend into a 10th season. According to associate athletic director Claude Felton, the Bulldogs have sold out every home game since Mark Richt became coach in 2001. The last UGA home game not to sell out, Felton said, was the Nov. 25, 2000, game against Georgia Tech.
The remaining tickets to Saturday’s game are available on-line (georgiadogs.com) or by phone (877-542-1231). The price is $45 apiece.
The game begins at 12:21 p.m. in Sanford Stadium.
Georgia currently has no tickets available to any other games this season.

Red-n-Black UGA fan are not drunk and loud because they are winners. They do it because they are low-class. UGA fans still talk crap when they lose. The Notre Dame fans were the nicest when we were there last. One fan gave Dad & I a guided tour around the campus. He just wanted us to enjoy the game and gain an appreication for a school he truly loved. I have never had a UGA fan do anything more that woof at other schools fans and cus infront of children while being stinking drunk. UGA fans love their school so much they leave 70 tons of trash after a game. UGAfans like to hunt and have many environmental friendly degrees, but the fans don’t understand Pack It In Pack It Out. If you have enough room to bring all the trash to tailgate then you have the room to take the trash to your own home. UGA doesn’t need to give you more garbage cans.

do-dah, so for tech fans its not about actually beating Georgia in the rivalry game, your season is defined by how Georgia does overall? Tell us something we didn’t know.

Ed, you don’t sellout anything because you have bad fans.
Come on here, and all I hear is how much money Tech grads make. Well, what are you doing with all of that money? Certainly not putting it back into your belove alma mater. Your athletic department can’t turn a profit, and your attendance is dreadful.
How long has your business school been without a name? Three years and counting since the Applebees guy went broke and couldn’t live up to his promise. You have the least loyal alumni base around.

Altamaha. Yes, I want to beat UGA every year, but Tech has not done that nearly enough for sure. If Tech loses to UGA I am mad for about 24 hours then I move on. I do hate the dawgs still running their mouths, but I understand it. I will not eat my Sigsaur P226 over losing to UGA for sure. Yes, I love UGA losing games because it is fun to read all the dawgs screaming for Richt’s head, or Willie’s head (they got that one), or Bobo’s head (I think they will get that one after this ez schedule year) when the Dawgs go 8-4.

And in case you guys didn’t know averaging 10 wins a season over the last 10 years is ordinary. Out of 120 FBS schools almost all 120 average 10 wins a season. That is why the Dawgs are ordinary! 10 wins a season is nothing special!

– Yeah but the WAC MAC and patty jack aren’t in the SEC – you know the conference who puts more players in the NFL than all conferences combined???
– Oh yeah and I don’t care if you’re not a tech fan you are still on a GA blog why becuase you want to get noticed and well you got to go where people actually congregate not at the bar with your sister.
Quick Trivia question what SEC school has had 3 Super Bowl MVP’s ???? Let’s just say they wear Red and Black and the Mascot is named UGA – Have a nice day.

Without even looking at the specific numbers, wouldn’t it stand to reason that only a dumba$$ would claim that the majority of any sample would have a success % of 10 out of every 13 when the sample’s members are playing against each other.
And I did that all that reasoning with my just my two lowly UGA degrees.

Jarvis Tech grads give more money to the Academic side of TECH than fans give to the Atheletic side of TECH. See, Tech people know the world is a better place with smart people working in a real job than giving money to GTAA. You have seen the NCAA commercial that shows Athletes playing a sport and doing some educational feat too. The catchphrase is “I will be going Pro in something besides sports”. UGA fans & players can’t seen to understand 97% of college athletes will not make a dollar playing a professional sport. The fact that GAA has a huge budget is not a great thing when Professors and the Academics at Colleges in the state are making cutbacks.

Dumbo we know why. She was competing on a campus with 57% cheap drunk bimbos. She had to do it to compete with the other girls. That is exactally why UGA will not suspend players except for games against the High School teams on your schedule. I used to love to visit UGA when I was in college and for a few years after. The Bulldog girls are great. They like to stick that thing up in the air and bite on that pillow like a bulldoog on a bone. the best part was the roommate never said a word because she was chocking on a pillow in the next bed too. Date a UGA girl but never marry a hotdog hallway.

25 Governors of this State have been University of Georgia graduates. Aron, when we say “We Run this State”, that’s what we mean. Oh, and current Governor Purdue actually played football at Georgia. In all fairness, Jimmy Carter and Zell Miller (among others) are Georgia Tech alums.
Specifically regarding the student athletes, the Georgia football team’s Academic Progress Rate released August 2010 was 967 (2nd in SEC behind Vandy). In the ACC, Georgia would have ranked ahead of Wake, NC, NC State, Va Tech, and Maryland. Tech football topped both ACC & SEC with a score of 982. Since this is “coach specific” rating that was being cited (AJC article), I do want to see how PJ going foward as he basically inherited this APR.
Basketball, however, is another story. There Tech’s APR is 927 and is next to last ahead of only Maryland. Georgia’s APR in basketball is 944 and ranks 5th. On the flip side of this, (as GaTech’s PJ) Mark Fox gets credit where he had nothing to do with the results so we can wait and see if he can keep his players eligible and graduating on time.
And as far as degrees go, you’re not going to get a lot of arguement from me that an engineering degree from Tech is highly desirable. I only question how many Tech athletes actually major in an engineering field, because industrial management doesn’t sound like an engineering degree to me.
Look, here’s the thing. I think a lot of Tech’s history and the current coach. The team is pretty good. Two years ago, your team won in Athens in a shootout. For about 12 months, I had to read on the AJC that UGa stinks and Tech is great. 45-42. Right, remember that? St. Simon’s crowing about Tech’s first win this millenia? Now, all I get is “Academics blah, blah, blah”, or “Tech won the ACC”, or “Georgia played in Shreveport”, or “We don’t care about beating Georgia.” Right. So, yeah, 30-24.

I think I’ll go to Bobby Dodd on Saturday and listen to the Georgia game on radio. Its real quiet and peaceful in that stadium. Besides that I can take my adopted cousin named Bertha. She was adopted by my aunt from a couple of Tech grads who were living on the street at the time. She’s 350 lbs, 4 teeth and smells something awful. Its good for her self-esteem though as its the only place she can get any dates. Those geeks just flock to her like flies to… well, you know. Lucky for Bertha, she’s also blind as a bat so it works out great.

Funny how all the tech fans are blogging on a page about UGA selling tickets to its opening game about how they don’t care about football.
“”Yes, I want to beat UGA every year, but Tech has not done that nearly enough for sure. If Tech loses to UGA I am mad for about 24 hours then I move on.”" Really, you moved on? You are writing about it on a story about Georgia selling tickets? You not only read the dumb article but you had to comment on it. I supposed you do not remember reading any of the Georgia blogs last year before the Tech game. Don’t act like you don’t care. If you didn’t you wouldn’t read and respond to this crap. I will say you are a little right. Most Tech students don’t care about football. They will be a dragoncon this weekend and not at the home opener. Or they prefer cricket because they are not from this country. Tech is a great school with great students and decent football. Georgia kids go to athens to get a good education, with a decent party, and some excellent SEC football. It amazes me how much you AJC blogging Tech fans hate UGA so much and act like you care so little. I am sorry but Saturday at Tech campus just doesn’t come close to Athens.
