This from AJC correspondent Andy Johnston in Athens:
Georgia coach Mark Richt said freshmen Alec (safety) and Alexander (fullback) Ogletree and Derek Owens (cornerback) most likely will play this year, but wouldn’t comment on who will redshirt.
“We’re still determining that,” Richt said. “You go one, two, three, four games into the season, and you might be thinking you’re going to redshirt a guy and then he doesn’t redshirt.”
Richt said the Ogletrees and Owens might spend most of their playing time this season on special teams.
Receiver Logan Gray, who sprained his ankle at the end of Tuesday’s practice, could be out anywhere from 7-10 days, Richt said.
“It’s a shame,” Richt said. “Logan has been practicing so well, and had his best practice [Tuesday], and then he ends up spraining his ankle right at the very end. Seems to be the way it goes, though.”
