UGA football tickets available for three home games

Although season tickets are again sold out, Georgia will put a “limited number” of single-game tickets to three home football games on sale to the general public next week.

Tickets to the Sept. 4 season opener against Louisiana-Lafayette, the Sept. 18 game against Arkansas and the Nov. 6 game against Idaho State will be available starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday by phone (1-877-542-1231) and online (www.georgiadogs.com). The tickets are $45 apiece.

The tickets are available  because the opposing team did not require as many seats as for some other games and/or because UGA season-ticket holders did not request as many additional seats as for some other games. Georgia typically has a small number of single-game tickets available to the general public for a couple of home games each year, but it’s surprising that the Arkansas game — the Bulldogs’  first SEC home game and a potential matchup of Top 25 teams — is available.

Georgia said the single-game orders will be filled on a “first-come, first-serve” basis.

This season will be similar to recent – UGA will win about 7 games, maybe, and will lose at least one they should win and go to a rather boring bowl game. However, once again, they will have several of their players be drafted into the NFL, making us wonder whey the team didn’t perform better.

Now that we’re in the off-season, wouldn’t this be the perfect time to take an in-depth look at UGA and have a serious discussion about the problems at UGA and why the arrest rate of players is the highest in the country? it’s common knowledge that UGA is a party school, but have any football players every actually graduated with a real degree? Jan Kemp exposed the school and the coaches almost three decades ago, but there is no sign that anything has improved; if anything, the arrest rate shows that things are getting more outrageous every year while the clueless Mark Richt has absolutely no control over his players. And then there is the infamous “red panties” incident that will haunt UGA for decades.

UGA has a lot bigger problem than hiring a new AD.

UGA has become a major embarrassment to all Georgians, and we want some answers starting now.

These tickets will be sold out within 30 minutes of going on sale. There will be sell outs at all the games.

Most UGA players were admitted under special rules, get placed in special classes and have expensive tutors that somehow keep them “eligible” (whatever that means at the university of football). After eligibility, most leave without a degree and end up in some deadend job.

You guys joke about South Carolina State, but they were 9-2 and won their conference last year. They will give the Jackets a run for their money.

Pretty pathetic, how the ‘haters’ beg to see something that is negative (even slightly) – to jump on.

Get a life…

Keep your QB healthy or it’s going to be a long season for the Jackets – might be anyway…

If you really want to see a patsy schedule, look at Penn State’s 2010 schedule. With a schedule like that, and Michigan sucking wind, Joe Pa should be a guaranteed BCS contender. I’d love to see them against an above average SEC team this year.

Division 1 football is a business to the schools and athletes. The elite players don’t plan to graduate. It’s a platform to reach the NFL. Let’s see…should I leave college before I finish my degree to sign a multi-million dollar contract? Hmmm, seems to me earning money is what the degree is intended to do for you. Just shut up and enjoy some football for what it is!
