I’m glad it’s time for some football!!! Go Dawgs!

Nesbitt is good, but Tech fans are smoking crack if they think he will win the Heismann! You have got to do more than just be a good running QB, who can only throw when the other team has 10 in the box!

Nesbitt for Heisman; what a joke. Maybe ACC offensive player of the year; only because the ACC is the All Cupcake Conference. Techies, you got your 1 out of every 10 years victory a couple of years ago, so it will be probably 7 or 8 years before it happens again – LOSERS

Nesbitt could possibly win a heisman, but it will be tough because QB stats are so measured on passing these days. Did Tommy Frazier win one? I don’t recall. He was not brought in to be a running QB, but has adapted well. He’s not the prototype for the offense because he has average speed for a running QB. He has a strong arm, he just needs to work on accuracy.

Hey Delbert, your choice of comparison for Nesbisco(Crouch?) is not the most supporting one. seeing as he turned out to be a sub-par talent level hack. Oh, well i guess it was a good comparison after all.. So what’s ol’ Nesbisco (b/c he is what we call “Dwyer-sized) planning on doing after college ball? His choices seem *wide open*, all except furthering his football career. Unless he makes the only logical transition to Fullback. I hear Ovie Mughelli could teach him a thing or two about running between the tackles..

Gatorzone

Otto…

Georgia tried that two years ago if your remember…and Florida played the week before the game….DIDN’T help!!!! Another Florida beat down of the Dawgs.

The game will be closer this year if both Brantley and Murray are healthy for the game. Neither team can afford for their starting QB to get hurt. Neither has a proven, experienced backup.

Right now…the SEC East is a complete toss up between Florida, SC, and Georgia….and I think the slight difference in the teams is in that order at the start of the season because SC has an experienced QB and they have a really good defense. If Garcia plays well…watch out for SC and Spurrier.

TampaGator

TampaGator

July 30th, 2010

82Dawg…Gators schedule was the toughest in the nation in 2008. When was the last time Georgia had the toughest schedule in the nation? And when was the last time Idaho State beat Michigan anyway (like App. State) and LA-Lay went to a bowl game (like Miami of Ohio). When you guys get around to beating Florida again on a regular basis (not just one out of every 4 or 5 years or so) then don’t rag on Florida’s schedule as an excuse for your own failings against a team that has won 2 national championships in the last 4 years…..and have the talent to do so again this year.

TampaGator

July 30th, 2010
1:58 pm

Gatorzone…

UGA is going to be much better this year and SC has a really, really good defense. It all depends on Garcia’s play for them. If he plays at a high level all year, SC is going to be tough to beat. The same could be said for Murray and the Dawgs….but I think his lack of experience on the practice field and on the playing field will be there downfall…and probably starting with SC.

TO answer your question….I have a second home in on a white, sandy beach north of you and spend most weekends there…and soon to be living there full time (just too many years for a Gator to be living in Chicago and Atlanta). Time for some fun in the sun again.

you can count me among those that think we can win that game, and most of the others, this year; i’m not making any predictions beyond saying that it will be a competitive game and that we’ll have a chance to win in the 4th quarter. this isn’t “delusional” or crazy; this is based on the plausible hypothesis that we’re going to be better than we were last year and florida isn’t going to be as good as they were.

Josh Nesbitt, the quarterback of a team ranked # 116 out of a possible 120 college football teams in the 1-A FBS # 116 Passing Offense.

# 116 Passing Offense Georgia tek

# 75 Total Offense Josh Nesbitt

Played 3 years at Georgia tek and this is his 4th year and last now 2010.

36 games Josh Nesbitt has played.

4 yards per carry rushing the football.

Oh, that is just awesome.

12 Interceptions and only 13 TD thrown in 36 games he has played.

Josh Nesbitt throws one TD pass every 3 games.

For God’s sake.

44 percent of his passes are thrown for a completion.

134 completed out of 298 passes in 36 games played.

3 passes per game are actually completed by Josh Nesbitt.

My God.

72 yards passing per game.

But, don’t forget he gets 4 yards per running play.

Wow.

Zowie.

we need to rush the field during the fla. game again. after seeing tht on tv i was sooooo hype!!! so just imagine how all the players on the field felt. if you ever see the video of them doing it you should see how dejected all the fla. players looked. they looked demoralized.

That is just what we do NOT need to do.

Exactly

Precisely

Act like we have done it before for God’s sake

All we do is LOSE

Interceptions

Fumbles

Penalties

Hot dog it during the games

Arrests

Suspensions

Celebrate during 40-point consecutively scored against us

Act like morons

And, brag how we are going to BEAT a team we’ve beat 2 times last 9 games

UGA fans are pitiful. On your own blog here about fall practice, you bash Tech. On a similar blog, about Tech’s fall practice, you bash Tech. Why? Yes, you’ve gotten the best of us for quite a few years. Still, get a life. I suppose as long as Florida owns you on the field, all you have left is to run around and talk about how you whip Tech, how you think our quarterback isn’t good, etc. I hope that you can finally beat Florida this year, because maybe then you won’t have such an inferiority complex and will leave us Tech fans alone. When Florida fans get on your case, you all run around, pointing-out history, saying that Florida football only started in the 1990s, etc. However, when it comes to Tech, you certainly don’t have a problem pointing-out your impressive run against us during most of the 2000s. Get with it folks. I love Mark Richt. I’ll wager that I saw Herschel play live in Athens more than most of you dead-beats. Still, I went to Tech, and graduated, and love college football, and would be ashamed to be a UGA contributor, based on the trash that ends up on these boards. I’ll bet most of you never even set foot in a UGA classroom. UGA is a very good school, and trust me, your idiotic comments on these boards do no justice to the school
Thanks — I’ve been wanting to say this for weeks. I suppose I’m just as bad, since I’m reading and replying to this junk.

UGA has three games on its schedule: South Carolina, Tennessee, and UF. Those are the three must win games to play for a championship. Might be able to lose one of them and still play, but it is unlikely. The East winner will likely have one or two losses so the head to head East games are paramount. Coach to win these, and the others will fall into place. A loss to Arky wouldn’t be the end of the world. So, all you “down-in-the-mouth” Dawgs don’t run around like the sky is falling if we drop one early. Quite frankly I am a little weary of hearing about Mallet and very weary of hearing about how the Gators are going to cake walk into Atlanta.

I understand that UF has had a lot of success in recent years and most people will give them the benefit of the doubt. But Brantley is just another first year starter in the SEC. He has proven nothing on the field. I think gator fans have been spoiled during the Tebow years and have forgotten how hard it is to win with a rookie QB so IMO all this bragging and boasting about how awesome the gators are is a bit premature.

I have drilled into my head that UGA gets absolutely the best recruits in the nation and then does nothing with them. Alas, Scouts proved me wrong.
In the last NFL draft UGA had NOT ONE in the top 100 as rated by Scouts !!!!! Tech had three and the SEC had a total of 21.
I’m beginning to really consider what Dawg fans have sometimes said which is the recruiting is lousy.

Low country dawg – you have never been to a UGA game because we show up and there are never nor ever will be more visitors at a home game. You are obviously a SC that is tired of watching your boys take a yearly beating by UGA. Looking forward to another win against SC and the ball coach throwing a visor.

12 – 2 Flordia has some good young players, but i don’t know who will be coaching them. Charlie Strong was a big lose. There is no Tebow and the draft took a big toll on the defensive side of the ball. I’m just as curious about Florida’s season as that of Georgia. No guarantees my friend.

12-2, glad to see you have enough sense to leave the Tech boards. Or, I suppose you had to go to work this afternoon, flipping burgers.

Try 3-17 against Florida, buddy. Get your facts straight — 2-7 perhaps, but let’s go back further. So once you get over your Florida complex, and maybe feel better about your program (although I will say that Richt is wonderful, why UGA fans get on his case is way beyond me), perhaps you’ll quit getting off on bashing Tech.

Get a life.

Nesbitt as a junior: Passed for 1,701 and ten touchdowns, rushed for 1,106 yards and 18 touchdowns.”
…………………….
A few things to consider:
Crouch’s stats are from 12 games, Nesbitt’s are from 14
RUSHING:
Crouch averaged 92.9 yards rushing/game
Nesbitt only 74.1
Crouch averaged 5.5 yards per rush
Nesbitt only 3.7
Crouch’s longest run was for 95 yards
Nesbitt’s longest run only 39
PASSING:
Crouch averaged 125.8 yards passing/game
Nesbitt averaged 121.5…..basically the same
Crouch’s completion % was 55.6
Nesbitt’s was only 46.3
RECEIVING:
Crouch had a 63 yard reception for a TD

Nesbitt is good and plays hard.
But Crouch was just a notch better.

The undesputed leader of the east has a lot of questions to answer this year. That program is tooooo good not to be the preseason pick, but; “DON’T BET THE FARM ON IT”.

Exterminator — Tech had Alabama on the schedule, and they backed-out. I guess they’d rather play a first-year team in Georgia State (which they are). Just remember, 3-17 against Florida, buddy. Until you can get over that, you’ll have nothing to do but bash Tech, which is a fine institution, and complain about Richt, who is a fine coach. So get some perspective on things and move on.

Coach Richt does not have more wins than

ALL THESE TEAMS over the last 4 years :

Boise State
Florida
Texas
Ohio State
BYU
Southern California
Oklahoma
TCU
Cincinnati
Virginia Tech
LSU
Penn State
Utah
West Virginia
Central Michigan
Boston College
Missouri
Wisconsin

Pretty LONG LIST here of teams the last 4 years that Coach Richt does not have more wins than, and 10 wins 10 losses vs just The SEC East when the only team for us to play in The SEC East the last 4 years was Florida – all the rest all 4 years were NO DAMN GOOD.

Josh Nesbitt for Heisman

44 percent of his passes are thrown for a completion.

134 completed out of 298 passes in 36 games played.

3 passes per game are actually completed by Josh Nesbitt.

My God.

72 yards passing per game.

But, don’t forget he gets 4 yards per running play.

Wow.

Zowie.
