Game time set for UGA football opener
HOOVER, Ala. – Georgia’s football season opener vs. Louisiana-Lafayette Sept. 4 in Sanford Stadium will start at 12:21 p.m. and be televised by the SEC Network, UGA said today.
This means Georgia’s first three games will be early starts. The Sept. 11 game at South Carolina and the Sept. 18 game against Arkansas in Athens were previously announced as noon starts on either ESPN or ESPN2.
Times also were previously announced for two other UGA games: The Oct. 2 game at Colorado will begin at 4:30 p.m. (ET) on Fox Sports Net and the Oct. 30 game vs. Florida in Jacksonville at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
Kickoff times for the remaining Georgia games generally won’t be announced until 12 days in advance, per the SEC’s television deals.

The SEC is not the best conference anymore. Get a grip on reality Rogeriter and all you dawgy fans. With the exception of UF, and Bama, the rest of the conference suxs and isn’t even ranked. 2 out of 12 teams ranked is sad. The ACC has Miami, Clemson, GT, VT, UNC and Fl. State ranked. That’s 6 compared to your beloved SEC with 2. You do the math, that is, if you are smart enough. Good luck beating Louisiana Layfette. I hear they have awesome players. THWG. GO GATORS AND GT!

If the ACC was so great, why cant they play for the natty or win BCS games. Look at the end of they year and see how many SEC teams are ranked…How many consecutive titles has the SEC won, I know its more than the ACC

Be interested to see if we still have cramp problems on defense like we’ve had so bad early in the year especially with these early games. I know it’s inevitible but seems like there were way too many in the past.

The fact is that the ACC is in the bottom half of the 6 BCS conferences. Probably #5 – just below the Big 12 lite and just above the Big East. Nobody around the country respects it.

I’m glad to hear it. This way I can eat a nice lunch in my suite at my normal daily lunchtime of 12:30 and still be hungry for dinner.
The typical Georgia fan (me) prefers early afternoon football. I don’t see what the big deal is with the heat. It’s not hot in Georgia.

UGAsuxs–Well, according to the pro’s and coaches, the SEC IS the toughest. And the ACC is not even second. That’s why the ACC conference champs lose to SEC teams that are not having great years. But I’m not knocking Tech or the ACC as much as I am defending Georgia and Mark Richt against the idiots that claim he’s not a great coach.
If the ACC is better–prove it on the playing field…and not against Vandy! Like Georgia will do again against Tech!!!

If we hand the ball off 30-40 times a game we will play for the SEC championship. We have two all american fullbacks, a stacked line, and and two capable tailbacks. We can win many games if we establish and rely on a power running game. Bobo has yet to really identify his offense as such, and he may never, but he may be looking for a job if he doesn’t.

The Sun Belt Conference can sneak up on you; especially a 2nd tier SEC team like UGA. It is a good thing UGA is not playing Middle Tennessee or Troy…the top two Sun Belt teams. UGA should handle Louisiana – Lafayette.UGA has an untested defense and an untested quarterback. Both of these are CRITICAL if you want to win games.
