Cleaning out the notebook:
Didn’t realize how much clout you had, I said to Fox. . . .
“How about that?” he replied with a laugh. “I was the only one preaching that [a while ago]. I’m glad they expanded. Certainly, as you know, I supported 68 before people were talking a lot about it. I do think it eventually will go to 96.”
Actually, Fox said, his opposition to 96 has softened as he’s learned more about how it could work. “It will still preserve the magic of the tournament,” he said. But his guess is that March Madness will stay at 68 teams for “at least two years.”
The NCAA Division I Board of Directors is expected to approve the expansion to 68 at its meeting on Thursday.
“Our game has a problem because so many kids have the misconception that they’re going to go to college for one year and then go to the NBA and make millions of dollars,” Fox said. “And that’s not realistic, and it’s an issue coaches across the country are trying to address.
“There are so many guys jumping in this draft. Is it because of a fear of a lockout [next year]? But that doesn’t mean there are more spots in this draft. So you have so many guys jumping in this draft that shouldn’t be in it.”
“We were probably worse at not getting turnovers than we were at giving them up,” he said in Columbus last week. “That’s one of the reasons Coach [Todd] Grantham is here. We expect to pressure the quarterback different. The one man who turns it over the most is the quarterback. . . . That’s the guy you want to harass; that’s the guy you want to put the pressure on. And you put the pressure on him by taking away what he really likes to do the most.”

Bo Williams does have a point. With all the bragging UGA sports fans do about all of their major sports their records certainly don’t warrant anything other than mediocore. Actually they’re slightly below mediocore. Tech may not be national champs, but their overall sports record does suggest they’re more committed to winning.

I don’t think Richt realizes just HOW BAD his QB has been in the KEY STAT: Td to Int Ratio
Alabama’s QB last year:
17 tds, 4 Int’s = 4.25 td to int ratio = 14-0 National Champs
Georgia:
24 td’s, 15 int’s= 1.6 td to int ratio = 8-5, Shreveport Bowl
I’d like to see less emphasis on PASSING TD’S, and more emphasis on BALL PROTECTION, and more emphasis on TD TO INT RATIO.

Which football games did you genuinely win? How many of your players are really students at UGA doing their own work? Our boys are learning how to build rockets while yours learn how to drink and steal cars. We have STUDENT athletes, while you have hired muscle. You have never beaten us with a legitimate team of STUDENT athletes.

Tech sweeps the major sport three games to zip. No doubt now that UGA is Tech’s b*tch, is there.
And really, we’re all getting so freaking tired of reading about these no-name UGA QBs, none of whom will be remembered by the time the first game rolls in, with your QBs either arrested for drunkenness or thuggery, or suspended and sent home crying to their mamas.

Hey RamblinWrecker and all of the rest of the Tech idiots:
How can you say you “own us” in sports? You swept us in baseball – big deal. WE BEAT YOU IN FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL THIS YEAR and have done so for the past decade. So who owns who?
There’s a special place in hell for Tech fans…

your guys are not learning how to build rockets they are in a major that was made up for football players. Do not act like your football players are taking challenging classes i have seen their interviews on tv some of them need translators. Wow, the nerds are out in full force after the baseball sweep…but I thought “head to head” doesn’t matter, geeks??? Not that many people care about college baseball, but GT has nothing to talk trash about in that regard. They’ve been to three College World Series and won none. UGA has been to six College World Series and won one. Since 2000, UGA has made 4 CWS appearances and GT has made 2. Tech has won a grand total of 4 CWS games in their baseball history….UGA won that many during the 2008 CWS alone. Sting ‘em!

I want SO badly to ignore them, but they are so pathetic that I can’t. Are you tech chodes so desperate that you come onto a football and basketball article and try to talk smack about……baseball? I do care about baseball, but it is NOT a “smack-talking” sport, unless one eliminates the other in a regional or something. We are pathetic this year, and you are good, but dear lord, get a clue and try, once in a while, to act like you aren’t the clueless and desperate losers that you are. “I didn’t look up the info on Georgia football team’s most popular major. I need to do that.”
That won’t work. The course numbers (like HACE-5900) are listed but not the title.
Here is the overall description of the major in Housing:
Description:
The Housing major focuses on the socio-economic aspects of housing. Special emphasis is given to housing needs and the manner in which the family, the private sector, and government policy respond to those needs. The program features an in-depth study of housing finance and the range of housing alternatives. The program may also be used as preparation for graduate study or as a pre-professional degree. Students may choose an emphasis in Residential Property Management which prepares students to work with diverse groups in property management. Coursework includes sales (leasing), accounting, development, human resources, technology services, legal issues, training, and management.
Career Opportunities:
Students with a housing major are prepared for employment with local, state, and federal housing agencies, helping tenants with housing use and maintenance practices. Graduates may enter employment in real estate firms, utility companies, planning commissions, and with manufacturers of housing and housing components. Other sources of employment are financial institutions involved with mortgages, extension service, and property management firms.
Job placement:
On an informal basis only through alumni contacts and internship opportunities.

To all those Techsters out there thumping their chests because they swepted UGA in baseball last night… GOOD FOR YOU!! Tech has a solid team and you deserve it.
To the Techsters on the board rubbing our noses in it… one question: being a season ticket holder for both UGA baseball and football, I have a ticket I thought you might be interested in: GAME 3 OF THE 2004 SUPER REGIONAL at RUSS CHANDLER. NEVER BEEN USED AND IN MINT CONDITION: Face was $10… but it certainly is worth MUCH more than that. Anyone interested???

Richt has a lot of disguntled players on his offense this year.
Logan Gray’s not happy, and you know his ex-teammate TE Aaron White is not happy either, both named #2 on depth chart.
Mettenberger’s WR’s friends that caught all those td’s form Mettenberger arn’t happy about Mettenberger being booted after a 1st time offense.
Ealey and King arn’t happy because neither’s gettng enough touches.
AJ Green, O-Line, and the WR’s are not happy because of the 3rd year in a row with a new QB.
Lynch isn’t happy after out-performing Orson Charles over Spring scrimmages.
Who’s happy on the offense?
EX High school teammates Aaron Murray and Orson Charles, both named #1 on the depth chart, for reasons unknown.

GT fans get off this UGA blog with you idiot comments. College baseball is so insignificant that you can not name 5 people that have seen a game this year. If you think College baseball is significant compared to football and basketball go look up the television revenue generated in the three sports. Also for all the Academic talk, take that somewhere else. We all know that both schools have BB and football players that would not be there if not for their athletic talents. This is just part of Major College athletics programs.

Brian in Athens,
Dumb comment about CMR. Do you really think that CMR did not talk to CWM about the defense and make suggestions. Do you think it’s that simple just to talk and make a recommendation and poof it’s fixed. I guarantee you that CMR was in CWM face the whole season behind closed doors and i guarantee you that he told him that his job was on the line if there wasn’t improvement. To even suggest that CMR didn’t do these things is stupid.
