Makiri Pugh, a reserve safety on Georgia’s football team, will transfer to another school in search of more playing time, UGA said Wednesday night.
“We are appreciative of Makiri’s contributions during his two years at Georgia,” coach Mark Richt said in a statement. “We understand and support his decision to transfer and wish him great success the remainder of his career.”
Pugh, who was redshirted as a freshman in 2008 and appeared in nine games (no starts) last season, was behind at least four other safeties in spring practice: Bacarri Rambo, Nick Williams, Jakar Hamilton and Shawn Williams. The Bulldogs also have rising senior Quintin Banks at safety, and prized recruit Alec Ogletree will join the crowd at the position this summer.
Pugh, from Charlotte, had two tackles last season. He played in Georgia’s G-Day spring scrimmage on April 10, recording two tackles.

I love idiot GT fans. So delusional. What kind of losers make rings to commemorate beating an out of conference opponent once in the last decade. That’s very sad for you, b/c believe it or not, beating you pathetic tasty bees in Nov. does NOT make our season.. You wanna know why? Because we EXPECT TO BEAT YOU every year. And that’s not an exaggeration, or wishful thinking. We save our “tune-up” game (i.e. “cupcake”) until the last game of the regular season. Argue, whine, and lie all you want, but deep down, you KNOW we a supposed to win every game. Better go on and start scheduling GSU before they get too strong under Curry, or you will lose your chance to beat up on another in state school. Really, you should try it sometime.. Its really fun

If you don’t know what he did by now, that is your own fault for posting instead of reading.
If anyone is going to criticize Coach Richt over his dismissal, they are wrong.
If anyone is going to support ZM, they are very wrong.
You can also read about what he did to the lady on 680 The fan, and while that is a media guy writing it, he has 3 sources.
Or you can read about it first hand. They all say exactly the same details.

IN 1990, there WERE 4 NCs

Depending on what region of the country that you lived in and certainly on what newspaper that you read and the fact that ( ESPN) tv sports rankings was not a factor, nor were any media beyond local/regional writers, AP and UPI, you had F-O-U-R ( 4 ) teams ranked #1 in 1990.
So, the four were:
SE except Florida- Ga Tech
Florida and up east- MIami
Midwest Chicago- Notre Dame and Colorado tied
Yes, 4 are btter than one NC and in 1990, that is what we had ……….4.

The issue? really? Depth is it
April 22nd, 2010
9:05 am
Depth is the issue at safety for UGA. That kid from Charlotte is probably a great athlete but if you read the several names that are now and will be keeping him on the bench ……….it makes good sense for him to split. He could go to any ACC school and be All Conference.
We have Ogletree and Jakar and Rambo and too many MORE big timer safeties for him to hang around.
Actually, given the recent revelations about ZM and the third string punter and now this kid, UGA is getting MORE spots to offer for class of 2011. Last year’s class ( current incoming frosh ) is small, so we will need to have about 28-30 spots to fill anyway. All of this “attrition” is NORMAL, IF you have ever been around a major college program …………you would recognize this for what it is.
Go Dogs.

Really guys, the kid wants to play and would start at ANY D-IA school of his choice. G. State would be a very bad choice but G. Southern, Wofford, Elon, W. Carolina, or Chattanooga would be good choices for him. And, he would not have to sit out a year.

Who is this idiot GT BABY? You are going to compare your pathetic ACC schedule to ours? We play UF, UT and Auburn every season and Alabama and LSU every other season or so. Heck, the few breaks we get is playing Vanderbilt and Tech, but we don’t play yall till the end of the season, so it doesn’t really help us as far as giving our players a rest. If GT played our schedule they would never go to a bowl again.

Looks like recruits had better be wary!!! If it looks like you can’t start we will find a way to force you out of your scholarship. A) If you drink underage and get caught – Poof you are gone. See Mettenberger who lost his scholly. B) After Spring game the coaches will call you in the office and truly hint that you aren’t very good and will receive no playing time. And oh yeah…BTW you could transfer to another school opening a scholly up for us to go after some other high school kid. Don’t let the door hit you on the way off campus.

STOP LIVING IN THE PAST GEORGIA FANS!!!! IT’S NOT 1980 ANYMORE. With that said, I’m talking about the 2010 football schedule. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE YEAR IS 2010? I AGREE OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS GEORGIA HAS HAD A TOUGH SCHEDULE. UGA doesn’t have to play LSU or Ala this year. The only ranked team Georgia plays is Fla. and GT. Auburn isn’t that good and Tennessee will not be ranked. Tennessee has a horrible coaching and quarterback situation going on over there. I’ll give you South Carolina, but I can’t give you Arkansas. I don’t think Arkansas is going to be as good as people think. I would love to put money on who has the harder strength of schedule when it comes out, any takers?

He ought to transfer to Appalachian State – winning program, close to his home, a HS teammate from Independence High starting at LB and the best DB in I-AA returning. I had hoped Makiri would play more at Georgia, because I like our Independence pipeline, but that certainly wouldn’t have been the case with the ascendance of Rambo, not to mention Ogletree coming in.
