ATHENS – Bacarri Rambo is ready to call a truce in his much-publicized war of words with Da’Rick Rogers.
“I’m going to try to be the better man,” Rambo said this afternoon, “and just let that die down and not say anything to him.”
UGA safety Rambo and Tennessee signee Rogers went at it on Facebook and Twitter earlier this month after Rogers, the heavily recruited wide receiver, reneged on his verbal commitment to Georgia and signed with the Vols. The exchange started with a Facebook update by Rambo, who wrote that it “is messed up how all of UGA high school commitments back out on us but I’m telling you now that when I catch you on the field I’m going to knock fire from you.” Rogers responded on Twitter: “Who is Bacarri Rambo?” Then Rambo returned the volley, and back and forth it went.
Rambo said today he didn’t intend the exchange to get personal.
“I mean, I wasn’t really directly talking to him,” Rambo said. “It was just something I was saying, like, I was shocked that you would say you were going to one school and then you change your mind at the last time and go to another school.
“It wasn’t directed to him. As a matter of fact, it was directed to no one. I was confused and curious why they do stuff like that. If he wanted to think it was him, well, I can’t stop him from thinking that. So it’s whatever.”
Rambo said most of his Twitter posts are uncontroversial: “I tweet everyday to tell people that follow me what I’m doing, like ‘I’m going to class,’ ‘I’m working out,’ ‘I’m about to go to sleep.’”
Back to football: Rambo spoke excitedly about his off-season work and Georgia’s new defensive backs coach, Scott Lakatos.
“I take notes on everything he says, know[ing] it’ll help me out in the long run,” Rambo said. “It’s a whole lot different, especially with the footwork Coach Lakatos is teaching us. Most of the people in the NFL run the same thing Coach Lakatos is teaching us. . . . I’ll imagine myself making more plays this year.”

Good for Rambo.
Hit him clean & hard, if he gets a start with Tenn, whihc is doubtful, let him know how you feel there.
Da’ Hype is over-hyped and like Rambo said, can’t keep his word, so his teammates won’t be able to count on him when he says something in the future.

So, what do you get from posting “first”? Seriously, even the jokes about it are lame!
Anyway, I think a little bit of personal rivalry is healthy up to a point. I’m glad Bacarri decided to switch his focus to learning better technique! Lakatos is one of the best secondary coaches, and we have sorely needed him for a while! I’m excited about our defense, and what the new staff can do with them! Go Dawgs!!

It’s easy to “be the bigger man” a month after talking trash like a middle school kid on a public forum. Oh, and it was not “intended” to be personal, my pasty white butt. It was in direct response to Da’Rick’s decision, He’s just trying to act innocent now. If you want to act like a man, admit it and move on.
Rambo came out of this looking like a cry-baby to everyone not rooting for the leghumpers. After the first 3 plays of the Tenn game none of this will matter. UGAg’s players should worry about beating the Vols on the field this season and not on facebook status fights.

Hey Da’hype, was Da’Rick over-hyped before he changed his commitmment? Has UGA ever taken a player who had committed somewhere else 1st? If so did you criticize him for not being able to keep his word, and therefore could not have the trust of his teammates?

Ask the Buford HS coaches what they think of Du’Rock…one catch for the entire state championship game…covered by a 5′7″ d-back all night that absolutely owned Du’Rock. i’m glad BR came out and stated that he’s moving on past this spat…the original tweet did have something to do with DR even if it wasn’t directed at him. DR acted like a little cry baby b!tc# in his comments back to BR….yeah, he and some other players got called out. he made the decision to change and he’s goin to have to deal with it, and he’s goin to find out what it’s like gettin hit by kids his own size real quick! he sure didn’t look like he wanted any part of it in the UU All American game… he sure looked like he was watchin all those kids commit to UF with those alligator arms of his. i’m sure he’s a good player but he hasn’t done a damn thing at the D1 level yet…ole’ BR sure as hell has. DR, until you play one down anywhere as a UT Vol i suggest you shut your damn mouth and concentrate on making your grades….
not many people in GA have any respect for DR and BR was just the one to come out and say something….good for him!

I am glad to see a little attitude from a defensive player. It could be that penalties have been over stressed to the team as a whole. If so, it hasn’t worked, the penalties keep coming, but the team started playing soft. Not every penalty is a bad penalty. A player has to stand up for his teammates. In the USC North game a few years ago, a UGA LB was clipped right in front of their bench and no flag was thrown, yet no one did anything. Willie and half the team should have been in that Zebra’s face! Spikes hit Knowshon and laid on top of him for at least 10 seconds, where were the O linemen? Where were the linemen on all those borderline late hits on Stafford? Why didn’t a lineman or two get after Spikes after he tried to put out Ealey’s eyes? Part of lineman’s job is to protect the smaller players and it’s high time those 300 pounders started acting like linemen, on offense and defense. This team needs to develope a mean streak first, then worry about the penalties.

Allow coaches only two visits into the recruits home.
Allow schools to do two camps with multiple recruits.
No other contact allowed. No twitter, no email, no text messages, no phone calls.
Disqualify kids who appear on TV shows to discuss recruiting until AFTER they sign.
Then move signing day up to December.

Last 4 years :
48 wins Florida
40 wins LSU
39 wins Alabama
38 wins Georgia Bulldogs
In the last 4 years, 14 losses by Coach Richt
In his last 4 years, 13 losses by Jim Donnan
And, we fired him for it.
Should we discuss Number 21 in wins the last 4 years right behind The Georgia Bulldogs ?
37 wins Texas Tech the last 4 years.
Texas Tech. That is who UGA is ahead of in wins the last 4 years as Texas Tech has 37 wins, one fewer than UGA.
DISNEYdawgs.com you wasting your time talking about Florida in the off-season with our 3 wins over Florida in the last 20 games two decades 3 wins, is like the Georgia tek Nerds coming in here and talking about UGA Bulldogs with Georgia tek’s 5 wins over UGA in the last 20 years with 4 of those 5 at Sanford Stadium.
Oh, now, we want to talk about Florida. I mean it is the off-season, right ? Time to discuss Florida.
Coach Richt beat Florida in 2004 finally in David Greene’s senior year by having David Greene throw the fewest passes he threw against Florida any year as UGA put up 31 points on Florida. But we still lost to the Tennessee vols with UGA scoring only 14 points and we still lost to Auburn with UGA scoring only 6 points.
Coach Richt beat Florida in 2007 in Knowshon Moreno’s first of only 2 years here playing when Knowshon had 33 rushes as we scored 42 points against Florida with Knowshon rushing for 3 TD and 188 yards. We lost that same year 2007 to the Tennessee vols with UGA scoring only 14 points on the vols when Knowshon was given only 13 rushes, and we lost to South Carolina the same year too with UGA scoring only 6 points when Knowshon was given only 14 rushes again.
2008 Knowshon got only 14 rushes against Florida in his second and last season for us to see him run. The final score was 10-49. Nice.
2009 well let’s not even go there 17-41 Florida.
2001 we scored only 10 points on Florida.
2002 we scored only 13 points on Florida.
2003 we scored only 13 points on Florida again.
2005 we scored only 10 points on Florida again.
2006 we scored only 14 points on Florida again.
So, now we come in here in February and talk about guess what ? UGA and our chances against guess who ? Florida.
53 interceptions and 82 fumbles the last 4 years on OFFENSE for UGA.
96 we have averaged NCAA Number 96 in the nation in PENALTIES the last 4 years too.
Now, I am quite certain someone has a list of excuses for all these 7 losses to Florida in the last 9 games against them, but as you can see the 7 losses to the Florida crocodiles over the last 9 years of the Coach Richt Era, have ALL been because of the Offense.
Do you think it might be ok, if we concentrate on our own OFFENSE and not focus on discussing Florida as either having a chink in their armor or not, when the issue very clearly is that UGA is in DECLINE and the reason for it is because of the CHINK in OUR OWN ARMOR on OFFENSE.
We are the 4th best team in our own Conference.
Only 3 of the astounding 14 LOSSES the last 4 years now have come against Florida; and now we field 3 freshmen quarterbacks who I am sure will all line up and run the plays without penalty, not fumble and not throw interceptions. Right ?

Jeff in Calhoun, I was wondering the same thing. However, I’d like to see Rogers make it just long enough to run a crossing rout on that pretty green grass, ‘between the hedges’ this fall. I have a feeling a few wildeyed foaming at the mouth DOGS will have a word or two for him, with Bacarri Rambo leading the way with one of those RED helmets with the big ol “G” on it.

Rambo don’t back down on knocking the fire out of this dude as well as everyone else you play and pass that on to the rest of your team mates. Didn’t see much fire knocked out of anyone last year

What is this? A history lesson? Lots of comments about the past. Let’s talk about NOW. Moe, Larry, and Curly are gone (aka, Martinez, Jancek, and Fabris.) There is a new sheriff in town and his posse will get it done! Joe Cox (aka, Joe Average) is also gone. Translation, look for much better play from the QB position which will enable the offense to sustain drives and keep the chains moving. Realistically, in 2010, with a 6-2 SEC record, we could win the SEC East. Especially when you look at the difficulty of Florida’s schedule. Florida has a rough road in 2010! Pay no attention to the discussions of USC possibly winning the East, that won’t happen! After we beat them on 9/11/10, they will act as a spoiler for other teams and clear the way for Georgia. Not sure how far we go after that. Guaranteed, the 2010 Dogs will be a better football team, go to a much better bowl, and finish high in the rankings.

Oh, get off the high horse.
Like you’ve never seen a friend get conked in the nads, and after you check to make sure he’s actually OK, laugh at him?
Same deal here. Said player starts battle of words with our guy, conveniently forgetting he himself got laid out in a game.
It’s the old ‘glass house’ thing.

Rambo did the right thing. Do you’re talking on the field. Da (as in Duh!) Rick made his choice, let’s hope we make him and his be-atch, Nance, regret it every time we play them. I am surprised Dooley took part in that type of recruiting as soon as he got to K-ville. It is certain to fuel our desire to crush them in Athens in October. He may rue the day he signed those two.

It won’t be easy, but I think D. Dooley will try to bring some class to UT, stop the recruiting tactic of “turning out” coeds, and shut down the Knox-Vegas Bunny Ranch.

Don’t worry everyone… Da’Moron probably won’t get into school this year, anyway… rumor was that he would have had to JUCO if he stayed with his Georgia commitment, anyway. Besides, Da’Idiot just likes running his mouth… ask anybody at the TWO schools he got kicked out of before he went to Calhoun High. And we all know he didn’t really change his mind on his own… Da’SugarDaddy, a.k.a. Mr. Nance, made sure that his son Nancy went to Tennessee in a package deal with Da’Mouth-of-the-South.
Will be fun to watch Da’BenchWarmer come in for a play or two in 2011 and have Georgia’s much-improved defense rip Da’Head from Da’Body.
GO DAWGS!!!!!
