Like his dunks, Travis Leslie’s stock is soaring.
NBADraft.net has elevated the Georgia sophomore to a lottery pick in its latest 2011 mock draft. The website has Leslie, a sophomore from Decatur, as the No. 12 pick in the ‘11 draft.
In the same mock, NBADraft.net has Leslie’s teammate and fellow sophomore Trey Thompkins as the No. 19 pick in the 2011 draft.
The website doesn’t contemplate either player entering the 2010 draft, by the way.
A few other notes this morning:
– UGA’s official list of injured players who will miss or be limited during spring football practice, which starts March 4: OL Justin Anderson (limited, shoulder); OL Austin Long (out, back); DE Jeremy Longo (out, knee); FB Fred Munzenmaier (limited, shoulder); S Josh Murray (limited, shoulder); WR Craig Sager (shoulder); OL Tanner Strickland (limited, shoulder); OL Trinton Sturdivant (out, knee).
– ESPN’s Mel Kiper, the dean of NFL draft gurus, currently has seven SEC players going in the first round of this year’s draft, led by Tennessee safety Eric Berry at No. 3. No Georgia players among the first-rounders.
– Weekend roundup: UGA’s women’s team won the SEC Swimming and Diving Championship, held in Athens. Georgia finished third on the men’s side. . . . The baseball team started the season by splitting four games in an opening-weekend event in Waco, Texas, going 1-1 against Baylor and 1-1 against Duke. Outfielder Zach Cone got his season off to a great start, going 11-for-16 in the four games. . . . The women’s basketball team lost at Florida to drop to 7-7 in the SEC. . . . The gymnastics team posted its second-highest score of the season but lost at Florida by a 10th of a point. The GymDogs moved up to No. 5 in the latest Top 25 released today.

Yellow Fizz- This year. It doesn’t happy very often. I don’t think we will have to wait 50 plus years to go to another big bowl. And when we get there, I believe the record shows that we have a pretty good idea of how to win.

If he can get some of the local talent to pull their heads out their a***** and to commit to UGA. Anyone can see that Coach Fox has this team on the upswing. Why go to Ohio State and Memphis when there is a talented coach right here in Athens? GT has great recruits but the HC days are numbered. Poor coaching and top talent will get you fired every time. That’s a hint, Mark Richt , get it in gear.

As a psych major, i can openly admit that only , generically speaking, psychos and mental-issue children carry around this much hatred…with the willingness to spew hatred at anything and everything. Going out of your way in a childish attempt to ruin someone else’s happiness…just WOW!!! Immaturity at it’s best, ladies and gentleman. And this is why he/she is on here every day. He/She has no friends, and is a tormented, lonely soul. I mean how dare someone else be content and happy when his/her life is at the bottow with no way up. Pathetic, Yellow Fuzz, yet anyone who has their feathers ruffled by this character must look at themselves first. I, personally pity this fool, and merely laugh at his excuse for a life. Here is an interesting thought–Fox has recently been getting a whole lot of praise for his efforts this year. But, as this article highlights, in reality, we can probably attribute the little success the basketball team has enjoyed this year to the recruiting efforts of the departed Dennis Felton. Coaches just whine, players are the ones who make plays and win games.
With that said, my prediction is that thompkins–one of the sec’s premier players–will leave for the nba this year; while i would hope and almost expect Leslie to stay for one more year. Either way, this should all mean nothing but positive things for potential georgia recruits.
—just my two cents, but i’m a little hesistant to drink the Fox kool-aid just yet–

RED DOG 77 says no one can come in here and point out these FACTS.
That no one is a Bulldog fan who does face up to what we in FACT are.
That he doesn’t read it.
You know why ?
Because RED DOG 77 doesn’t want to know.
Because RED DOG 77 thinks if he HIDES THE FACTS that it will help in the recruiting, but the recruits KNOW what the FACTS are on UGA. Do you believe they do ? Or believe they do NOT and that by HIDING THE FACTS, that they WILL NOT FIND OUT the FACTS ?
Because RED DOG 77 thinks if he HIDES THE FACTS that it will make the players on the team feel more positive about themselves. Heaven forbid our players should actually play a HOME game at UGA and feel like they NEED to DO A LOT BETTER THAN THEY HAVE BEEN at HOME. Heaven forbid our players should actually play a game on a NEUTRAL FIELD and feel like they NEED to DO A LOT BETTER THAN THEY HAVE BEEN on NEUTRAL FIELDS.
Let’s all treat the recruits and the players on our team like Mushrooms and keep them in the dark and feed them B.S.
Act like EVERY Recruit considering UGA and act like EVERY Player for UGA ever is a total dumb slit.
You can’t talk about our Offense. You can’t point out for 4 years in a ROW on Offense now, we have led the ENTIRE NATION in penalties, for 4 years in a ROW on Offense now, we have led the ENTIRE NATION in fumbles, for 4 years in a ROW on Offense now, we have led the ENTIRE NATION in interceptions.
And, that all we have this year is 3 Freshmen Quarterbacks, none of whom has EVEN THROWN A PASS.
March 2010. Last time Coach Richt beat a Top 10 Final AP Poll team Nov 2006.
He beat # 9 Final AP Poll Auburn November 2006.
He beat # 6 Final AP Poll LSU in 2005.
Coach Richt declared that HE KNOCKED THE LID OFF THE GEORGIA BULLDOGS’ FOOTBALL PROGRAM by beating # 4 Final AP Poll Tennessee vols in 2001.
KNOCKED THE LID OFF THE GEORGIA BULLDOGS’ FOOTBALL PROGRAM in 2001 ?
He did ?
Let’s look at his 2001 season, please shall we to see if he KNOCKED THE LID OFF THE GEORGIA BULLDOGS’ FOOTBALL PROGRAM, or NOT ?
UGA Ended up ranked # 22 in the Final AP Poll 2001.
LOST to Boston College # 21 in the Final AP Poll 2001.
LOST to South Carolina # 13 in the Final AP Poll 2001.
LOST to Florida # 3 in the Final AP Poll 2001.
LOST to 7-5 Auburn UNRANKED Final AP Poll 2001.
BEAT 8-5 Georgia tek # 24 Final AP Poll 2001.
BEAT # 4 Final AP Poll Tennessee 2001.
It’s 10 years now since HE KNOCKED THE LID OFF THE GEORGIA BULLDOGS’ FOOTBALL PROGRAM.
2001 (1) LOST 1 SEC NEUTRAL FIELD game
2001 (2) LOST 2 SEC HOME games at Sanford.
2001 (3) LOST to 3 SEC teams, none at their stadium.
2001 (4) LOST 4 games while Miami of Florida LOST 0.
2001 (5) LOST to Florida.
2001 (6) LOST to 1 UNRANKED Top 25 Final AP Poll team.
2001 (7) Played a CRAPPY Opponent in a bowl game.
2001 (8) Failed to beat Florida & vols in the same year.
THAT is KNOCKING THE LID OFF THE GEORGIA BULLDOGS’ FOOTBALL PROGRAM to beat # 4 Final AP Poll Tennessee vols in 2001 ?
That is what Coach Richt said.
It was music to our ears in 2001. It was what we wanted to hear way back then 10 years ago, now.
Whose players was it that WON that game, Coach Richt’s Recruits or Jim Donnan’s Recruits ?
We have averaged 3 and a half LOSSES per year for the last 4 years in a row and COUNTING.
That is 14 LOSSES the last 4 years in a row, now.
That is with Matthew Stafford, AJ Green and Knowshon Moreno.
Jim Donnan’s last 4 years in a row, he only LOST 13 games.
14 LOSSES Coach Richt his last 4 years now.
13 LOSSES Jim Donnan his last 4 years in a row.
WE FIRED JIM DONNAN FOR THAT. Wanted MORE.
Coach Richt now 10 years later that Coach Richt, that HE KNOCKED THE LID OFF THE GEORGIA BULLDOGS’ FOOTBALL PROGRAM in 2001 beating # 4 Final AP Poll Tennessee vols 26-24 on the hobnail boot; Who is now 10 years later drinking this KOOL-AID ?

I am concerned about the number of shoulder injuries. It appears that too many people, especially linemen, are limited or out with shoulder injuries. The questions are, is this normal, and how do they avoid these issues?
I too would like to see more on baseball and other UGA sports. Heck, the gymnatics program can’t ever get more than a couple inches of ink. How many titles do you need to win to get a few features?

i was at the Bama game this past Saturday and I was thoroughly impressed with the product on the floor, most notably coaching.
around the 12 min mark of the second half, Fox called a TO. i saw him grab the whiteboard and draw a play. it worked beautifully (though Jackson missed the dunk).
That’s coaching. Felton never drew up a play. His asst coach did it. Fox drew it up perfectly.
He is prepared every game and I think saturday was especially sweet considering he beat Anthony Grant — the guy most UGA folks, including myself, wanted.
I am all in with Fox and I am buying season tickets next season.
