Da’Rick Rogers-Bacarri Rambo war of words (and other stuff)

Oct. 9 continues to loom larger. That’s the date of the Georgia-Tennessee football game, which became the most compelling on UGA’s 2010 schedule the moment Derek Dooley was named the Vols’ coach. Now, there’s the added storyline of Da’Rick Rogers, the Calhoun High wide receiver who broke a 7-month commitment to Georgia to sign with Tennessee last week, potentially playing against the Dogs and encountering UGA safety Bacarri Rambo.

Rogers and Rambo have been going at it a bit on Facebook and Twitter since last week.

It started with a Facebook status update by Rambo, who wrote: “Bacarri Rambo thinks [it] is messed up how all of UGA high school commitments back out on us but I’m telling you now when I catch you on the field I’m going to knock fire from you.”

Rogers responded Saturday on Twitter:  “Who is Bacarri Rambo?”

Then from Rambo on Twitter: “Tell Darick ‘pretty boy’ Rogers he doesn’t have to know me but I bet he will feel me!! Lol”

Then from Rogers: “don’t worry about me ha … that’s your choice … last time i checked a big hit =’s you getting knocked out.”

Rambo: “I compete against the best receiver in the nation everyday at practice. Why should i worry about that guy.”

OK, on to other stuff:

– Saturday night’s crowd at Stegeman Coliseum wasn’t huge (an announced 8,131), but it was spirited and it again showed that the Dogs can enjoy a significant home-court advantage in the old building. “Everyone said when I came we need a new place,” UGA coach Mark Fox said after the victory over Vandy. “Heck, no, we don’t need a new place! We just need great fans like we had tonight and the right effort.”

– The approximately $12 million in Stegeman renovations approved by UGA’s Athletic Board last week won’t affect the seating bowl, but will make a   dramatic difference in the concourses and the exterior appearance.

– Interesting game Saturday. Georgia scored 23 points in the first half, the Bulldogs’  second fewest in any half this season, and 49 in the second half, their most in any half this season. The Dogs’ ball-handling, lousy in the first half, improved in the second.

– Of Georgia’s six SEC losses, four have been by four points or fewer.

– And the Georgia men’s tennis program continued its 21-year winning streak against Georgia Tech on Sunday. The Bulldogs beat the Yellow Jackets 5-2 at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Facility in Athens -– Georgia’s 24th consecutive victory over the Yellow Jackets dating back to 1989. Georgia is a mind-boggling 50-1 vs. Tech in men’s tennis since 1969.

Wow not a big fan of people pointing out first, but this is my first time being so. I think most players are going to find out who Rambo is this next season, I always wondered why Rambo didnt start over Evans you could tell he was head and shoulders above him. But thats the whole seniority thing that Martinez was big on.

Advice to RAMBO – keep your head down ….your mouth shut…and work hard son. getting beat 3 of the last 4 years by the Vols – all by BIG BLOW-OUT – should be motivation enough. Keep your mouth shut and do something on the field.

Advice to ROGERS – get your academics in order – and get into school – before you mouth off. Second – the best reply is NO reply – let your PLAY do the talking – and we you do something great – act like you have done it before.

Wow! Who is Bacarri Rambo??? Who the heck are you? When your head snaps back from inexplicable inertia next fall and you don’t know who you are… ask who Bacarri is then, tool! Georgia’s defense is going to own you and the rest of the SEC for a looooonnnnngggg time! If you need references look at UConn and Vandy in 2009. Nobody wanted to go across the middle on those two defenses. There’s one HUGE difference…UGA has MUCH better talent. I honestly feel sorry for you and the SEC. Time for UGA’s redemption. And agree with GDAWG—that attention seeking guy would have had to work pretty hard to crack the starting lineup this yr…He would have to learn to run routes very well, block pretty good, and pick up audibles in CMR offense..UGA has pretty good receivers (could use a little more depth)…but darn good receivers—Green, King, Wooten, Durham, Troupe, Brown, new recruit Bennett–very coachable–great attitude, good hands and speed..possibly Logan Gray moving to receiver….then tight end–White, Charles, Figgins, Bradberry…..also King, Ealey, Thomas, and others catching passes out of the backfield and Brandon Smith being used as receiver and end around at times…so UGA has some pretty good talent on offense and would be tough to break in for playing time

Peyton Manning is a big-game choke artist. The Super Bowl victory MVP in 2007 was not a Peyton Manning performance with a fumble and an interception and only 1 TD pass.

Peyton Manning choked in high school in big games.

Peyton Manning choked in college in big games.

Peyton Manning choked in the Playoffs again last night. He threw a pass to a receiver out in front of the receiver who stretched out his arms as the ball flittered off his fingertips. Then, the camera went back to Peyton Manning where he was in the backfield shaking his head at the receiver.

On the sidelines thereafter, Peyton Manning had gathered his Offensive Linemen together on the bench and the camera again caught Peyton Manning acting like God lecturing his OL.

Peyton Manning plays on a team widely considered far better than the New Orleans Who dat Saints. The Colts were a prohibitive 6-point favorite in the game.

Not a winning record in playoffs, Peyton Manning has been and continues to be a choke artist of the highest order in big games.

It is what he does.

It was not until he left the vols, that the vols won the big games. In the big games in college, Peyton Manning choked. 3 times he played Florida, and lost all 3. How can you be any good at all in college if you always lose to the teams in not only your own conference, but even in your own division ?

Super Bowl MVP for throwing 1 touchdown pass ?

Super Bowl MVP for throwing an interception and losing a fumble ?

Super Bowl MVP for a QB rating of 81 ?

What the hell is that all about ?

Peyton Manning is a big-game choke artist.

10 Playoffs.

6 times Peyton Manning was bounced in the 1st game.

9 Playoff wins in 10 Playoffs, that is what his record is in the big games in the NFL.

Hall of Fame Quarterback who has a Super Bowl MVP in the rain where 3 other Colts’ Offensive Players in fact had far better games than he.

This is the Baltimore Colts, Indianapolis Colts. That is supposed to be the best team in the NFL. Instead, Peyton Manning gets on everyone on his team like everything they were doing was all wrong when he was doing everything right, according to him.

10-0 one might surmise that Peyton Manning would hand the football off to Joseph Addai.

He did anything but.

In 18 Playoff Games, Peyton Manning has only 9 wins.

Beating Rex Grossman hardly changes the fact that Peyton Manning is sports’ greatest choke artist.

9-9 in the Playoffs.

10 seasons in the Playoffs.

Peyton Williams Manning 3 weeks from now turns 34.

4-Time NFL MVP and 1-Time Super Bowl MVP he no where near deserved with an interception a lost fumble of his own and only 1 touchdown pass with a 81 Quarterback Rating. 3 point 8 yards per attempt. For that, he is Super Bowl MVP.

9-Time NFL Choke Artist.

Facts Are :

10 Years in the Playoffs.

10 Years Choke Artist.

10 to nothing lead and Joseph Addai gets a grand total of 13 carries in the game. Why did the Colts lose again ? Peyton Manning threw the football 45 times instead.

Drew Brees threw the football fewer times than Peyton Manning, but completed more passes than Peyton Manning, and Drew Brees threw 2 Touchdown Passes, while Peyton Manning threw 1 touchdown pass and 1 interception.

Peyton Manning’s QB Rating is 84 in Super Bowls.

Drew Brees’ QB Rating was 114.5 last night.

The Super Bowl was already over when Drew Brees threw the 2-Point Conversion to go ahead 24-17. Then, Choke Artist in the big games, Peyton Manning threw the Pick-6 to Tracy Porter covering 74-yards and it became 31-17 with 3 minutes and 12 seconds to go. Peyton Manning is a Choke Artist in big games. It is all he has ever been. And, all he will ever be. It is what he is.

Peyton Manning threw 33 touchdown passes to 16 interceptions 99 QB Rating

Drew Brees threw 34 touchdowns passes to 11 interceptions. 109 QB Rating

Peyton Manning, not Drew Brees NFL MVP.

Peyton Manning 7.9 yards per pass 68 percent complete

Drew Brees 8.5 yards per pass 70 percent complete

The media, 50 sportswriters, is who votes for the NFL MVP.

Peyton Manning despite playing on the best team in the NFL, has been sacked 215 times, has 17 rushing touchdowns to 19 fumbles, has 366 touchdown passes with 181 interceptions, and has 12 Chokes in the big games in 12 Years in the NFL.

Prolific Pablo Picasso of Choke Artists in big games.

Rambo was only a fair safety last year but gets an A for toughness and hard play. Also he was a redshirt freshman. He will be stronger, bigger and tougher next year. I would rather see DaRick Rogers assigned to Jakar Hamilton. By the Tennessee game everybody at UGA will know who Hamilton is.

Da’Rick needs to take a lesson from the ol’ hen who doesn’t cackle until she’s done something.

Da’Rick is going to be trouble: from the pictures and the posing and the positioning, he wants to be a “playah” before he’s established himself as a football player on the field.

Rogers’ signing with the Vols doesn’t change the fact that he was a fine HS player who will, in all likelyhood, have a sucessful college career.

My problem with both Rambo AND Rogers is them running their mouths like a couple of street punks. Hey guys, uh, let’s play the game on the field okay? It kinda reminds me of another punk running his mouth about how he was going to run all over Deion Sanders in a game a few years back, and he ended up getting embarassed so badly I felt sorry for the guy.

Recruit Nationally and you will not have to worry about what happened with Rogers. UGA recruits came from only 3 states. That is not good.

The Alabama/Mississippi ALL STAR game did not have one signee from this game out of 30 players. UGA had to get a 2 STAR wide receiver on the last day to close out recruiting by the name of Ronnie Outlaw. That is not good. He may turn out fine, but CMR got a player that will probably not qualify per the AJC and who knows if he will change his mind after he has honed his skills a a Junior College.

Why not go after Maudrecus Humphrey of Hoover High School in Birmingham. He is a 3 STAR that signed with ARKANSAS. His father was former BAMA player and former NFL Running back BOBBY HUMPHREY of the Denver Broncos. Good blood lines. He was not recruited by UGA per all reports. Below are excepts on Humphrey.

Humphrey, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound son of former Alabama and NFL standout running back Bobby Humphrey, was clocked at 4.34 in the 40-yard dash during a high school combine at the Arians Pro Football camp on Wednesday at SportsBlast.

Humphrey clocked times of 4.46 and 4.41 before setting a personal best in his third attempt. Former UAB standout Kevin Drake, who also played in the NFL, timed all three attempts.

MAUDRECUS HUMPHREY
WR – FR – 6-3 –185 – Hoover, Ala. (Hoover HS)

Bobby Petrino’s Take: “Certainly one of the top programs in the country; he has been very well coached. He is also a tremendous track athlete. His mom was a very good track athlete, I think she holds some records at UAB. His dad was a very good football player at the University of Alabama. We are very excited to have Maudrecus, he is a guy who can really run after the catch. He runs excellent routes, and he has Colby Hamilton type hands. He can extend his hand away from his body catch balls, elevate and catch balls. He is only going to get stronger and faster. He hasn’t spent a lot of time in the weight room because basically when football is over he is running track. He has been running track his whole life. I think his goal at the high jump is 6’10” and it certainly feels like he is going to get that.”

Here is a breakdown of SEC schools that signed players from this game. 10 SEC schools signed players from this game……………………….but no UGA. Have to wonder if they need someone else in charge of recruiting or a new head coach.

Thirty players from Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic sign with SEC schools

The breakdowns:

Alabama (5): Corey Grant, RB, Opelika; DeMarcus Milliner, DB, Stanhope Elmore; C.J. Mosley, LB, Theodore; Nick Perry, DB, Prattville; Jarrick Williams, DB, Blount.

Arkansas (2): Maudrecus Humphrey, WR, Hoover; Jeremiah Jackson, DL, Spain Park.

Auburn (5): Kenneth Carter, DL, Greenville; Shon Coleman, OL, Olive Branch; LaDarius Owens, LB, Jess Lanier; Craig Sanders, DL, Ariton; Jawara White, LB, Charles Henderson.

Florida (1): Solomon Patton, WR, Murphy.

Kentucky (1): Dale Trimble, DB, Gadsden City.

LSU (1): Travis Dickson, TE, Ocean Springs.

Mississippi State (8): Kaleb Eulls, DL, Yazoo County; Nick Griffin, RB, Perry Central; Corvell Harrison, DL, NE Jones; Jameon Lewis, DB, Tylertown; Jameson Love, DB, Aberdeen; Damien Robinson, OL, Olive Branch; Curtis Virges, DL, West Point; Matthew Wells, DB, Lawrence County.

Ole Miss (4): Bryon Bennett, DL, Madison Central; Carlton Martin, DL, Madison Central; Nick Parker, RB, South Panola; Carlos Thompson, DL, Simmons.

Last year, I couldn’t believe the idiots from TN who attacked Marlon Brown for switching to GA after they thought he would single-handedly change our program. So what? He made a decision that was best for him. Deal with it.

Now the Rogers changed to UT, I see there are just as many idiodic UGA fans as UT fans. Both players did what they thought was the right thing to do, so fans of both teams need to understand that, grow up, and stop proving these 18 year old kids are more mature than we are.

For reasons still unclear, Rogers was unable to continue his education at Darlington after his sophomore year. I asked Rogers to explain his departure in an interview this past November.

“Well, mainly they wanted me to be a leader throughout the school,” Rogers said. “And it was kind of hard because it was conflicted with me being a bigger athlete and them not really seeing athletes like me around the school. People felt intimidated by me and that made it hard for me to be a leader around the school. I tried and it just didn’t work out. It was just kind of like bashing heads all the time.”

Virtually everyone involved in Calhoun have said that Rogers is going to have to focus HARD the next few months to qualify to get in to UT via NCAA guidelines. Most are saying he won’t make it. I always say that UT has skirted the NCAA guidelines for years and will find a way to get him in even if braking NCAA rules. Of course, that is harder now, so suffice it to day he won’t get in. I imagine he’ll play two years and hit the NFL Draft by 2013. He’ll probably never experience a win over UGA in all likelihood.

On anothe note, rumors abound that Bryce Brown will be leaving to join his brother at Kansas State. Makes sense considering K-State has one of the best coaches in the college game in Bill Snyder. The hits just keep on coming Vollies!

Looking forward to October 9th. Now if I can just convince Richt to put his feelings for Vince and Barbara aside and run up the score…

UGA is headed down hill in several sports with no real reason that doesn’t fall on the coaches and the athletes. February 8th, 2010

As a UGA man, I really feared signing the Rogers kid because of his poor grades and uncivil personal comportment. As an opponent of UT, I fear now that we will never see DumRick on the field as his grades and his uncivil personal comportment will keep him sidelined.

Nothing has changed, except that he signed with UT. See? Buddy boy Nance goes to UT as a “QB” and Dumrick was used. Neither kid will play but Daddy Nance got what he wanted. Son is a “UT QB”. That makes him look good but his carpet sales will not be so good.

Does anyone on this site recall tech’s “savior” QB Charles Dudish? He was so great in 67-68 in HS at Avondale, that his recruiting story was on national tv. He played awhile at Tech and just up and quit. His Dad was like this Nance clown. It will not be good ………..long term ……….for UT.

I, personally, have never whipped Georgia, but UT has embarrassed the lowly dogs 3 out of 4. And like that jerk asked earlier…Who owns the series lead? You can isolate a period of history and skew the facts to support your argument, but the fact is UT beats UGA more often than UGA beats UT. And lately it has been by a significant margin. Face it Bruce…UT is a more successful program head-to-head.

brucemac

February 8th, 2010

Yea, you can isolate periods of time and my period of time is since CMR arrived. UGA has been a stronger program than UT since he arrived and that is all I am saying. But...

February 8th, 2010
1:21 pm

Then we’ll have to agree to disagree, because I am only looking at the last 4 years. During that time UT has beat UGA like the Dawgs owed them money. Including one missed extra point away from tying Satan himself for most points EVER put up on Georgia in Athens.

But...

†ired of talkin

February 8th, 2010

Too much talkin in college football today. I remember a day when we said “act like you’ve been there”.
To Bacarri, the last time I saw you play in person you were laid out cold then left the field on a stretcher, not to be seen again that season. So talk is cheap when you couldn’t finish last season. Another note, people who have season ending concussions will have more of them and they will shorten your career. Instead of talking smack you better pray you can keep playing even the next couple of years.

Da Rick knows performance, UT won a national title and went to the SEC Championship game more recently than GA. That’s why Da Rick went to UT. But who cares, the only performance that matters is a national title, which there are none in the last 10 years for UT and GA. Da Rick is patiently waiting to put a stiff arm on Rambo’s jaw. Rambo plays against some of the best receivers in practice; that’s ripe, other than AJ Green they have no proven receivers. Like playing against the best receivers makes you a better DB, get real. Bunch of freaking whiners. So many ignorant rants by Ga fans. But that’s not all that surprising. You “hate” Da Rick, you seem to know all about his character and never met the kid. How many recruits has Ga gotten over the years that changed their mind to attend GA and dropped their commitment to another school. Yet, when it goes your way there isn’t any question about the kid’s character! Get over it. Da Rick went to TN because his best friend was going there. Nance’s family talked him into it and that’s the END of the story.

As far as these kids smack talking across an IM site I would imagine they learned that from all us “adults” on this blog. I agree with some that had already said these kids should just focus on their grades and football drills and let their actions speak for them not Twitter or Facebook or even the AJC.

FunnyPupsters- I think you hit the nail on the head sir. Why would an established college player worry himself with a high school senior? Sounds to me like the Bulldogs are reaching for inspiration and bulletin board material. Or maybe Mr Rambo lost a girl to Mr Rogers since he is so worried about grade school kids.

AltamahaDawg

February 8th, 2010

Palmer, from the stand point that Rogers didn’t owe UGA, or TN, or anybody else, anything, I would say whatever factored into his decision is not OUR place to be angry about. And as far as reasons, going to college with your best Friend seems like a pretty good one. Obviously these aren’t a couple of suburban kids what just happen to be neighbors. Thats a pretty intriguing story as to those boys being BFF in the first place.

I just don’t see why it’s so illogical for folks. TN=UGA as far as his playing days are concerned, and the Nance kid is no worse off at TN. (open to debate). And when the chance opened to go together..you telling me that you would not have?

Now, there is the non-binding verbal committment issue. Everybody might as well get over that. That’s why its not called LOI. Until they eat thier first free cheeseburger, the schools are the one on bended knee. WE woe them. I don’t like the idea of the timing. I think we would have been hot on somebody else, but that’s a risk and nothing new to recruiting. Just be a program that nobody would ever consider not signing with, BFF or not, would be the answer.

As far as the Nance Dad….all of the speculation may be true, but how is that Roger’s fault? And how did any of that harm Rogers?

I will also be very interested in seeing how well the new defense will be be able to handle coverages and not stuck in a zone D ALL the time. I seen Darick, derrick, darock, dajackass try to play at the under armour game in St Pete,Fl this year, and I was hoping he would not come to us, he could not even catch a cold at that game, and the QB was laying it out there for him. SITTING WITH A FRIEND WHO IS A GATOR FAN, HE SAID ” That is what is wrong with UGA today, they recruit guys who can’t catch the ball, minus AJ Green”. After thinking about what he said, he was right and I continued to watch the game and watch this BOZO drop ball after ball and get lit up when he did catch one. I am not sure who rates these players but they need a reality check. The guy could not suit up and do anything against any local schools here in Tampa, we have guys like AJ Green and Deion Sanders facing each other on a weekly basis when high school football is in effect here, so long story short, this jackass did not impress anyone then and will not now. Glad he went to Tennessee, join the rest of the rocky top losers there, we dont need you SON.

AltamahaDawg,

Maybe anger is a bit strong. I doubt any UGA fans will care to send him a Christmas card. How is that? The entire situation was dirty, that is the bottom line. Had Nance not known Rogers, UT would have never offered him a scholarship and that is a fact. He doesn’t show up on any of the top QB rankings, and UT already has the 7th best QB in the nation going there next year. It’s obvious what occurred, and I applaud Coach Richt for not stooping to the UT level and playing the games Senior Nance wanted to play.

How is it Rogers fault? He allowed himself to be used as leverage for daddy Nance to use to get an undeserved scholarship for his son. Nash Nance will forever be known as the leach that clinged to his BFF’s coattails.

No harm to Rogers, other than the fact I doubt he’ll be receiving any meals on the house here in Georgia anymore whenever he comes home.

To Da’Rick…Yeah Rambo got knocked out….but he showed what a Damn Good Dawg is and what loyalty is….he sold for his team….he sacrificed himself for the good of his team. You would never do that here. You are about yourself….I hear when you go across the middle and hear footsteps…you lay down, drop the ball, duck and demonstrate your scared, prima dona self! Now there’s a teammate for you!

And to those saying this is the same as UGA getting Marlon Brown away from UFK. Talk to his Grandmother….not some snot nosed traitor Dooley, his staff and “buy you anything you need” Nance. His Grandmother wanted Marlon at UGA because of CMR’s “Christian beliefs” and his moral character. She felt that Marlon would benefit more in his preparation for life by learning from such a man….not a Kiffin or any UFK coach!

As Marlon said…” “She liked coach Richt because he put God above all. She’s a very godly woman and she loved that about him.”

Can’t say that about DR’s choice…honesty, trustworthy, and a man of “his word”…he is not…he just a liar! Don’t come across the middle alligator arms!

On paper, Rogers should be a great wide receiver at the college level. But only time will prove if that is the case or not. UGA fans have a right to feel betrayed since they were lied to, but don’t get too worked up over it since this kid could be a massive bust

This is all nonsense anyway. Rogers will redshirt next year and, since he is currently on the bulldogs active roster, Rambo will likely be in jail next year. Tennessee is a much more wholesome place for a young man to grow up.

Both UGA and UT will be in similar situations next year. UT with an entirely new staff, UGA with half a new staff. Brand new, unproven QB’s to lead each team. UGA has a little more stability with Richt still being there, and they have their entire OL coming back, both of which should give the advantage to UGA. As far as programs are concerned, I can see how it would have been a near toss up for Rogers. I’m sure the fact that his lover was going to UT helped weigh the odds in UT’s favor

Bulldog59

Reality, your comments are hopefully, an attempt at humor, “UT will drill UGA in October.” I’m friends with a couple of long-time, and very knowledgeable UT boosters. They are refusing to even come to Athens, b/c they know what’s going to happen. One of them predicts UT could finish at 3-9! A new DC, from the WAC, and an OC who last held that title at Cal State Fullerton 20 years ago. Good luck Vols, it’s time for a little payback for the sins of your golden boy coach (who left you holding the bag.) By the way, Rogers lack of academic prowess was a concern for Georgia, at UT it won’t come into play. Face it, academically, Georgia is much tougher (reference The Princeton Review or any other rankings of public colleges and universities.) They slide Rogers right thru at UT.

While UGA has earned your criticism and prediction, UF will be almost as brand new this year as UT. If there was a year for UGA to take a advantage, it’s this one. Just too bad they too will be breaking in a new QB.

Vandy, UK and SC will be the ones, oddly enough, with the experienced QB’s. Could be interesting

Jona- That argument doesn’t fly. Nobody looks past a divisional foe. EVER! And if UGA did indeed look past Tennessee then your coach should be fired on the spot. Simple as that. I like it better when the rivals of my school are on top of their game. It just makes for better games, and it makes bragging rights all the more special. I don’t have an issue with a guy caring more about a family relationship, than where he goes to college and plays a voluntary game. I’d have preferred he didnt volunteer to be a volunteer.

I don’t defend Mr. Nance, but I will say this, If I can do something that helps my kid out, I am going to do it……. barring anything underhanded or immoral, and nobody knows what the truth is here.

We have also signed MANY players over the years that verbally committed to other teams. Something changed thier mind. Somebody was probably involved. Does it really matter what and whom?

This is a UGA blog on an Atlanta paper’s site. Last time I checked Atlanta is the capital city of the south and it’s located in GEORGIA. Why don’t you find some lame UT blogs on your Tenn. paper site?. Wait, you guys still have papers up there, right? Maybe you don’t have the internet in Tenn???

Gen Neyland

February 9th, 2010

Jona : I long for Mr CFB too, but some of these forums are meant to be somewhat objective which means including those from around the conference and if written and/or postings are slighted, then you’ll need to learn to deal with objections from outside the world of Athens GA. As a college football fan, I can, have and will address the game but I’ve turned a corner when it comes to the spite and vile that is protrayed by fans of any program that continues on a one way street without response. If you want true BulldogSpeak, I suggest Bill King. I respect his forum and don’t defend my own over there (as a rule). The rest (Bradley, Schultz, Barnhart, Towers) open things up a bit more to include mob reaction to common sense debate. If you think common sense debate begins ends with a ‘Bulldogs Only’ mindset, I’ve got a water fountain and a diner you might be interested in…

Hey Messenger, Peyton never lost to Georgia. Peyton has an SEC Championship ring and a Superbowl ring. By your definition anyone who fails to win a championship every year is a choker. In fact Peyton is 1-0 in SEC championship games, 2-1 in AFC championships and 1-1 in Superbowls. He was 3-1 in college bowl games. Yes, he lost to Florida and yes he threw a bad pass in the Superbowl…but I am willing to bet that he will win another Superbowl or two before his career is over. Until then he will have to be happy with being one of the winningest and highest paid “choke artists” in the NFL. Now you can return to regurgitating useless info that will not erase the fact that he has won a championship in the best conference in college and in the NFL and is well on his way to the NFL Hall of Fame.

why doesn’t the Georgia State High School Athletics oversight people investigate Calhoun High School for allowing an athlete to live with a family other than his own for the purpose of playing football for that high school ? there is little wonder that Calhoun High School has become a football power in North Georgia, since they are allowed these kinds of privileges. i can remember when Calhoun was lucky to win half of their games. times change with the interpretation of the rules. they will let Nance & Co. ruin their football program if they are not careful.

I think the dawg fans looks at it like this , if he is a mutt for Ga then he is all world and the greatest thing since slice bread but if he goes some place else then he is trash and a trouble maker and would of never seen the field.

This paper sucks by the way. The sports section is always filled with hate on Tennessee. Jeff shutz and Bark madley need to hop off and realize the fact. Whenever Georgia beats Tennessee, they beat a Tennessee team with a losing record by 13 or 12. When Tennessee wins they beat a RANKED uga team by 3 scores or more (see, 2006 51-33 and 2007 35-14) or they just take care of buisiness against a horrible UGA team, (2009 45-19).

What was the final score of that UT-WY game year-before-last?!?! I was pulling for the Cowboys all the way. As I do for ANY team that plays UT. And UT is the only school in the SEC that I ALWAYS pull against, no matter who they play. Guess it’s because of situations like we have here where UT fans get on a UGA blog and run their collective, ignorant mouths like they just won a NC. Every year it’s the same thing with these UT people, “we’re going to win the SEC and NC, MARK IT DOWN”. And when they don’t, it’s the ref’s fault or the other players were saying curse words after the game in front of Fulmer’s daughter, or ESPN doesn’t like us……….” Guess what Vowels, nobody likes you. You don’t have any HS players in TN so you have to get GA players to fill your roster, generally the ones that couldn’t get into UGA, and then you beat your chests saying “we’re UT”. Look UGA’s roster. It’s full of GA players. It’s really a GA team. Not some team put together from players, from who knows where, that your coach did a very underhanded thing to get (offering a QB who they know doesn’t have a chance in Hades to play, a scholarship just to get his friend to commit, this after he’s already committed elsewhere) BTW, thanks for that one. You saved us a lot of trouble. But get ready for the NCAA investigation that’s sure to come. Somebody surely needs to clean that “school” up.

Cobb Mutt,
I live in Ga and I wouldnt be talking about inbreds or redneck toward Tn people because I have seen my share of both down here in Ga.
You also talk about Tn fans act like they won the NC , The way you mutts go on you act like UGA is just the dream school to be at, how funny.
Tn has recruited Ga every year for years and they will keep on recruiting the state of Ga , just like FSU,,South Car,Ala,Fla,and there is nothing MR can do about it,the recruits UGA gets from Ga is the left overs other schools dont want.
You also act like Ga is the most dominant school in the SEC and is their any school besides Ky,Vandy that Ga has a winning record against. We know you dont have one with the Vols.
