Da’Rick Rogers-Bacarri Rambo war of words (and other stuff)

Oct. 9 continues to loom larger. That’s the date of the Georgia-Tennessee football game, which became the most compelling on UGA’s 2010 schedule the moment Derek Dooley was named the Vols’ coach. Now, there’s the added storyline of Da’Rick Rogers, the Calhoun High wide receiver who broke a 7-month commitment to Georgia to sign with Tennessee last week, potentially playing against the Dogs and encountering UGA safety Bacarri Rambo.

Rogers and Rambo have been going at it a bit on Facebook and Twitter since last week.

It started with a Facebook status update by Rambo, who wrote: “Bacarri Rambo thinks [it] is messed up how all of UGA high school commitments back out on us but I’m telling you now when I catch you on the field I’m going to knock fire from you.”

Rogers responded Saturday on Twitter:  “Who is Bacarri Rambo?”

Then from Rambo on Twitter: “Tell Darick ‘pretty boy’ Rogers he doesn’t have to know me but I bet he will feel me!! Lol”

Then from Rogers: “don’t worry about me ha … that’s your choice … last time i checked a big hit =’s you getting knocked out.”

Rambo: “I compete against the best receiver in the nation everyday at practice. Why should i worry about that guy.”

OK, on to other stuff:

– Saturday night’s crowd at Stegeman Coliseum wasn’t huge (an announced 8,131), but it was spirited and it again showed that the Dogs can enjoy a significant home-court advantage in the old building. “Everyone said when I came we need a new place,” UGA coach Mark Fox said after the victory over Vandy. “Heck, no, we don’t need a new place! We just need great fans like we had tonight and the right effort.”

– The approximately $12 million in Stegeman renovations approved by UGA’s Athletic Board last week won’t affect the seating bowl, but will make a   dramatic difference in the concourses and the exterior appearance.

– Interesting game Saturday. Georgia scored 23 points in the first half, the Bulldogs’  second fewest in any half this season, and 49 in the second half, their most in any half this season. The Dogs’ ball-handling, lousy in the first half, improved in the second.

– Of Georgia’s six SEC losses, four have been by four points or fewer.

– And the Georgia men’s tennis program continued its 21-year winning streak against Georgia Tech on Sunday. The Bulldogs beat the Yellow Jackets 5-2 at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Facility in Athens -– Georgia’s 24th consecutive victory over the Yellow Jackets dating back to 1989. Georgia is a mind-boggling 50-1 vs. Tech in men’s tennis since 1969.

Alec Ogletree is also waiting to put the wood to mr rogers. I am pretty sure that Alec will see playing time this year. Wow! Have you seen the wood this guy brings to the neighborhood? da’rick is going to get “blowed up” one way or the other. Anyway, rogers did not look too good in the allstar games when he was up against high level talent.

Single minded Georgia fans here……and I’m not a fan of UT either, but wow, not one comment about the basketball team in this article. How can there be so much basketball talent here, yet zero interest. That tells you that Georgia will always struggle getting kids to stay in state.
No one has any interest in this program that can’t get support until they pull a major surprise.
Get behind Coach Fox. He has surprised me at this point, and even though his record isn’t good at this point, he has his players’ ears and they believe in what he is trying to do.

Pope- One thing I DO know is UT has biatch slapped UGA 3 out of the last 4 years, and all were major beatdowns. Losers! And Rambo got knocked the F out the last time he TRIED to “knock fire” from somebody. What a candy-azz!

This was all about Mr. Nance being angry over UGA signing Hutson Mason. Nance was told that UGA would not be signing a QB then went and signed Hutson. So this whole thing of holding UGA’s scholarship hostage up to the last minute was designed to inflict as much damage as possible by Da’flip Rogers so he could make Mr. Nance and his son feel better. Well payback as they say , can’t wait to Da’flip fails to qualify and ends up playing in Kansas for 2 years. Then we will see who has the last laugh!

Did I mention that Gators like to gouge players eyes when their arms are pinned back? If not, Gators are well known for playing dirty! And we Gators are proud of it! They don’t call us RedneckNation for nothing!

Richt Best Recruiter in SEC

-wrong as usual, facts prove you wrong again.
Rivals.com rates the classes:

Try the past 5 years since some are still in school,
2006 #4, 2007 #9, 2008 #5, 2009 #7, 2010 #16

Unfortunately, he recruited against Florida, 2006 #2, 2007 #1, 2008 #3, 2009 #11,
and 2010 #1. It appears Richt has no better luck recruiting against the Gators, than playing
them, 2 for 9. How long are you going to put up with him?

Darlington Blues……De’Rick’s answer to why he left Darlington was (in the ajc) the administration wanted me to be a school leader. If that does not want you to leave your HS nothing will! The gaul of that school! Shameful! Doubt he has a poster in his room that says; “the buck stops here”?

Rambo lay motionless on the field for about 10 tense minutes before being carted off late in the victory over Auburn. He was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he remained for testing and observation until being released this afternoon.

Richt said today that Rambo suffered a concussion but no other injuries.

Da’flip Rogers, if he has the grades, will be in Knoxville the next few years. What happens when Nash Nance rides te bench 3 to 4 deep on the depth chart. Does Daddy Nance work a package deal with Middle Tenn. St. for them both to transfer to.

Who is either of these clowns? One is a high schooler that probably won’t even qualify at UT (been telling you guys that for months, you got lucky by not wasting a spot for him) and the others only accomplishment so far at the college level was getting knocked unconscious. Very telling that this is the only news to report on the UGA page…argument between a never has and a never will…

NOTHING of note in the past few years except
beat us…..no championships, no BCS bowls,
no substantial rankings. Losing to them
is an embarrassment and it’s time to END

Knoxville not long ago ? It’s WAY overdue.

Peyton didn’t have any trouble with GA. Since you said he is a big game choke artist, I guess that means the GA isn’t a big game – I agree.

Last year, I couldn’t believe the idiots from TN who attacked Marlon Brown for switching to GA after they thought he would single-handedly change our program. So what? He made a decision that was best for him. Deal with it.

Now the Rogers changed to UT, I see there are just as many idiodic UGA fans as UT fans. Both players did what they thought was the right thing to do, so fans of both teams need to understand that, grow up, and stop proving these 18 year old kids are more mature than we are.

Rambo talks the talk, now he has to walk the walk. With the DaRick Rogers controversy, “DaRek” Dooley stealing Ga. recruits, Kiffin pronouncing UGA will never beat Tenn again, and Rambo stirring the pot, the Bulldogs should not have a problem getting motivated to play a great game against the Vols. I love to see Rambo getting whipped up to play in February. These Bulldogs are hungry and mean. I love it.

You know that is exactly what got the last defensive coordinator fired, immature players. Watch Dooley you won’t hear much more out of Rogers when he checks into his system, he will save it for the field. If this new DC is what he is suppose to be Rambo will leave it alone too, but Rambo is already in the system and a junior, not sure he gets it yet or has every been taught to just play and shut up. It will be an early sign of what has changed and what is the same old same old. Most penalized team in the SEC for a reason.
