Da’Rick Rogers-Bacarri Rambo war of words (and other stuff)

Oct. 9 continues to loom larger. That’s the date of the Georgia-Tennessee football game, which became the most compelling on UGA’s 2010 schedule the moment Derek Dooley was named the Vols’ coach. Now, there’s the added storyline of Da’Rick Rogers, the Calhoun High wide receiver who broke a 7-month commitment to Georgia to sign with Tennessee last week, potentially playing against the Dogs and encountering UGA safety Bacarri Rambo.

Rogers and Rambo have been going at it a bit on Facebook and Twitter since last week.

It started with a Facebook status update by Rambo, who wrote: “Bacarri Rambo thinks [it] is messed up how all of UGA high school commitments back out on us but I’m telling you now when I catch you on the field I’m going to knock fire from you.”

Rogers responded Saturday on Twitter:  “Who is Bacarri Rambo?”

Then from Rambo on Twitter: “Tell Darick ‘pretty boy’ Rogers he doesn’t have to know me but I bet he will feel me!! Lol”

Then from Rogers: “don’t worry about me ha … that’s your choice … last time i checked a big hit =’s you getting knocked out.”

Rambo: “I compete against the best receiver in the nation everyday at practice. Why should i worry about that guy.”

OK, on to other stuff:

– Saturday night’s crowd at Stegeman Coliseum wasn’t huge (an announced 8,131), but it was spirited and it again showed that the Dogs can enjoy a significant home-court advantage in the old building. “Everyone said when I came we need a new place,” UGA coach Mark Fox said after the victory over Vandy. “Heck, no, we don’t need a new place! We just need great fans like we had tonight and the right effort.”

– The approximately $12 million in Stegeman renovations approved by UGA’s Athletic Board last week won’t affect the seating bowl, but will make a   dramatic difference in the concourses and the exterior appearance.

– Interesting game Saturday. Georgia scored 23 points in the first half, the Bulldogs’  second fewest in any half this season, and 49 in the second half, their most in any half this season. The Dogs’ ball-handling, lousy in the first half, improved in the second.

– Of Georgia’s six SEC losses, four have been by four points or fewer.

– And the Georgia men’s tennis program continued its 21-year winning streak against Georgia Tech on Sunday. The Bulldogs beat the Yellow Jackets 5-2 at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Facility in Athens -– Georgia’s 24th consecutive victory over the Yellow Jackets dating back to 1989. Georgia is a mind-boggling 50-1 vs. Tech in men’s tennis since 1969.

No, he is the one with pick six you ignorant trash. No what you’re talkin about!!!
—————–

If only he had another 3 or 4, you guys may have won.

And everyone in GA dissing both Dooley and Rogers, just wait.
You guys make the “crappy QB” comments, but look how Chaney transformed Crompton last year. Nick Stephens will already have a year of that offense under his belt this year.

Pretty sure Rambo is the only one of the 2 to ever catch a touchdown pass from a UT QB.

YoMama
….Dooley is desparate; Rogers just unwise.
—————-

If anyone was desperate with this hire, it wasn’t Dooley. He was perfectly fine being the HC and AD at LATech. Personally, I think it’s a diamond in the rough kind of hire, and I don’t think it’ll yield immediate results, but down the line we’ll be very good.
Rogers wasn’t foolish for picking UT. He chose the school that he was most comfortable with. And besides, Richt is going down if he can’t get that D on the same page. The writing’s on the wall there.

UGA is simply jealous.

And just what WAS that Tennessee vs. Georgia score last year?? As for the Rogers vs. Rambo smack talk,…. “It ain’t bragg’n if you can do it.” They’ll settle it on the feild. I’m sure the main reason for all the Athens anomosities toward Rogers is because you just flat out didn’t get him to sign to UGA. If Rambo can hit him, great ! If not,… then we all know who the better athlete is. The great state of Georgia should be proud that UT has a Dooley legacy at the head coach’s position. Just think, another year like last year and we could possibly find an assistant’s position for Richt. Good luck Dawgs,…. you’re gonna need it.

All Georgia has to do is watch the Buford film on Da’Rick. One of the double teams was a sophomore who showed Da’Rick up. It was classic defense.

gdawginkalamazoo,

Go ahead and pat yourself on the back for “averaged 10 wins a season”, those are the kind of stats people who pull for teams that have disappointment after disappointment. Like 08 when you fell on your face after a fluffy preseason ranking. Or would it be two years in a row of black jersey debacles? Or Tech whipping your butts in a year you were supposed to be playing for the National title. Bottom line UGA doesn’t have anything on any team in the SEC accept maybe Vandy. Too much talk from a bunch of unrealistic fans of an average SEC team.

Vols Fans love bragging on beating us 3 out of 4 years when we ALWAYS finish in front of your sorry asses every year. Still nothing to be proud of though, but I guess its better to finish in front of UT than behind. UK and Vandy are bound to win 1 game against us every 20 just like the Saints won their first superbowl or maybe the Red Sox winning a world series after 86 years. You tell me Vols fans. But that loss ya’ll took to Wyoming and UCLA twice was painful. Still hurts huh. You guys make the SEC look bad with your play every year.

Palmer well said. I consider him the same as any player NOT a Bulldog now……knock his block off. And no cards, not even on his Birthday.

I’m just saying (not you) but some folks are going overboard knowing this or know that about him…….and they don’t.

I don’t have an issue with a guy caring more about a family relationship, than where he goes to college and plays a voluntary game. I’d have preferred he didnt volunteer to be a volunteer.

I don’t defend Mr. Nance, but I will say this, If I can do something that helps my kid out, I am going to do it……. barring anything underhanded or immoral, and nobody knows what the truth is here.

We have also signed MANY players over the years that verbally committed to other teams. Something changed thier mind. Somebody was probably involved. Does it really matter what and whom?

This thug made a good decision to go to the university of football in knoxville—he wouldn’t have made it one year at Georgia due to the academic rules in place. At UT, there are no rules. Just show up at practice and games, and you stay eligible somehow. Nice.
