Athens – I’m pretty sure Georgia fans are going to love these words from Todd Grantham, the Bulldogs’ new defensive coordinator:
“Over the last 11 years [in the NFL], I have evaluated a lot of players from this state –- not only players of the University of Georgia but players that have played everywhere else, too,” Grantham said today. “And I have always believed -– and I believe to this day – that if we took the best players in the state of Georgia and within a five-hour radius of our school, if they come to the University of Georgia, then we can win the SEC championship and compete for a national title. And I think you can be better than Florida, you can be better than Texas, and you can be better than Southern Cal – if those players came to the University of Georgia. So that’s what excited me about coming here.”
Grantham’s hiring a week ago has been well received by Georgia fans, who probably will like it even more after hearing the intense new guy in town talk about being better than Florida, Texas and USC. . . .
A few other things from today’s session with Grantham:
– Turning down Nick Saban: Yes, Grantham confirmed, he was offered a job in 2005 as the Miami Dolphins’ defensive coordinator by Saban, the noted defensive genius. But Grantham, who previously worked for Saban at Michigan State, turned down the Dolphins’ job to take the defensive-coordinator position with the Cleveland Browns instead. “Basically it got down to a geographical decision, really,” he explained, noting that Cleveland is closer than Miami to his Virginia hometown.
– Evaluating his new players: Grantham said the first step is to study film on them. “Right now what I’ve done is with the two graduate assistants, who I can tell you do a great job; these guys are unbelievable. I’ve had those guys [Todd Hartley and Mitch Doolittle, who famously filled in as coaches when the staff was short-handed for the bowl game] pull off about 25 or 30 plays of each [player]. That kind of gives you a feel for the player. So we’ll look at those and get a feel for each guy.” Soon Grantham will get to know the players in the off-season program, and then he’ll have them on the field in spring practice. “It’s a process that will be ongoing all the way up until next [season], but you got to start somewhere,” he said. “And we’re going to start with the evaluation of what they have done so far.”
– NFL vs. college: Grantham, whose first two coaching jobs were at Virginia Tech and Michigan State, spent the past 11 years in the NFL. He said he went there initially to enhance his future as a college coach. “I always had an aspiration to coach in pro football, and the reason is that it is the graduate school of coaching. It’s the best players, it’s the best systems, and it is the best coaches to a point -– not that there aren’t great coaches in college. But you do get challenged up there. So I looked forward to that challenge. But, really, I wanted to do that to enhance my career in college. I have always had aspirations of being a coordinator and a head coach one day, and I felt like, what better [than the NFL] on your resume when you to into a home [recruiting]? . . . That way when I walk into a home, my resume could speak for where I could help the kid go. And that’s really one of the reasons I went to pro football. Over the past 11 years, there have been some opportunities to come back to college, but the timing was never right and I never felt as strongly as I did about this job.”
Also: Grantham says Rodney Garner will remain the Dogs’ D-line coach.

What did you expect him to say?
“I believe UGA is a good school, and we can consistently win 9 or 10 games. We won’t win a national championship since we can’t compete with Florida, Texas, and USC, but we might every once in a while play in the SEC championship game.”

Go Dawgs. I know he hasnt coached a down yet but I like what im hearing . He should be a good evaluator of talent and play the exact opposite of Willie’s sit back and wait defense.

Good scoop on Grantham turning down the spurned Saban. Ouch!
Grantham must be one hot shot of a defensive talent if Saban offered him the DC job, Saban’s defense just finished #1 in the country.

I think we’ve all known for years that we CAN be better than all those teams but the fact is, we haven’t been. Georgia’s loaded with talent, and it’s true you can’t get them all, but you get what you can and what you need and then COACH THEM UP! Something we seriously lacked under Martinez.
And by the way, for the record, I wish Martinez well. No ill feelings toward him. I just didn’t think he was all that good of a coordinator.

You might want to wait until UGA actually has a reason to believe that they can beat UF before you start down that path… Grantham has an awesome attitude, but how does that make him any different than Willie Martinez? Bottom line, we keep getting the quality we’ve been getting, and maybe move it up a little, we develop the kids physically and coach-’em-up with guys like this, then I’ll be ready to ‘go to war’ with anybody. This has all the earmarks of a fun time to be a Georgia Bulldog….and let me remind you, after we beat Tennessee this weekend, everybody’s gonna’ be taking notice. Georgia’s GDP is roughly 3 times that of the state of Alabama, UGA is 50% larger than U of Alabama in students and alumni, and draws from a larger pool of money. Further, UGA is a better rated school academically than UA. If you took the top 22 players in the state of GA every year vs. the top 22 in Alabama, the top 22 in GA are going to win that game 8 of 10 years. I’ll give it to Alabama, they have done a LOT with the resources they have, much more than Georgia and that is how we should all be judged. But please, get a clue, Georgia can buy and sell Alabama, and if UGA would get their act together…..they have no reason to worry about Alabama.

And again…….until Florida or Georgia or Alabama or USC can produce one single wood plaque with that gold ensignia at the top that says “NCAA National Champion Division 1A football”, none of these schools have EVER won a national championship.
The NCAA DOES NOT AWARD OR RECOGNIZE a National Champion is division one football, and it never has. It doesn’t matter how many Sunkist Fiesta, Federal Express Orange Bowl, USF&G Sugar Bowls you win or how many times Doritos names you “National champion”, your not. It’s just a beauty pageant awarded by an entity that doesn’t sanction the sport. Few teams playing faced the same criteria as the other teams competing. Ohio State in 2002 didn’t beat a single SEC or Pac 10 or Big 12 team to win the “National Championship”. How in the hell can the claim a NC when they have no substantial grounds to do so? Claiming NC’s as a ground of comparing success is a joke. Conference Championships are real…..they are won on the field by teams facing the same criteria and competition.

The only thing Florida “owns” is a losing record to Georgia and the distinction of having never had an undefeated season in over 105 years of football. Georgia turning the series on Florida now appears roughly as likely as it appeared Florida would turn the series on Georgia in 1989 when the had a 4-15 record vs. GA since 1972? How’d that turn out. It’s very humourous to me the folks who don’t understand what really goes into winning and losing at this level and simply think that recent trends will always continue and a five year run is a real indicator of the inevitability of the next 10 years. If Georgia gets great talent and great coaching, they’ll get great results. If Alabama gets the same, they’ll get the same…….as will Florida, as will Auburn, as will Tennessee, as will LSU. What you’ve got to ask yourself is who has the greates resources to do so……..
And by the way Troof……..I am not the diviner of National Championships…..the NCAA is, you know, the sanctioning body of EVERY SINGLE COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC COMPETITION? The one who awards a legitimate National Championship to every single sport OTHER THAN D1A football……because they are the ONLY entity who can. Kind of the like the NFL office, not Golden Flake, is qualified to award the Commissioners Trophy to the Super Bowl winners.

This new staff needs to drive them ’til they drop and grind into ‘em that snarling, bloody forehead, Junkyard Dawg heritage and attitude we all long to see.
They could struggle early but thankfully this year we have a puff game or two to work out some kinks.

Consensus? Partial? BCS Champions? AP Champions? Litkinhouse winner? Split polls…..UPI is or isn’t legitimate…..we’re NC’s with 2 losses, while a team with no losses that we’ve never played isn’t?
Do you see why this entire deal is a fabrication and a joke?
UGA is the only undefeated untied team in the country in 1946, but “wins” the consensus NC in 1942 because they won the Rose Bowl? Alabama is the only undefeated team in the country in 1966, after they were “National Champions in 64 & 65 and they don’t get “awarded” a NC by some arbitrary poll, yet another arbitrary group of writers vote them #1 in 1947 or whatever with a loss to Mississippi State and two others and they didn’t win the SEC? And hell I’m a Georgia fan and I like Alabama.
It’s a Joke………It’s a Joke.

“It’s very humourous to me the folks who don’t understand what really goes into winning and losing at this level and simply think that recent trends will always continue and a five year run is a real indicator of the inevitability of the next 10 years.”
You sound like the insects that you are constantly pounding on here. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! The real truth is that we have dominated UGAg for 20 years, not 5 years! The record is 17-3 in that period. And to you desperate bloggers that want to talk about the overall record, I would be more concerned about changing the recent trend than a trend that ended 2 decades ago!

Maybe sometime this year, people other than ga gator, yes sir, and myself will start trying to make some rational comments. I am anxious to see this new D, but I sure don’t expect it look like Erk’s Finest in the first few games or maybe even seasons. If they show the type of improvement that they have not been able to show for the last few years, they will get to the next defensive level, but thye can’t be expected to play 35-38 minutes each game and not give up yards and points. Steady improvement and 60 minutes of hell, that is what we need to have out on the field.

UGA has the exact amount of SEC titles under Richt as Fla does in last nine years and more than ALA.
UGA finished more times top ten than Fla in those years.
UGA has won as many games as Fla in those same years.
UGA has won 8 or more games 13 years in a row (more than Fla).
UGA has been won 11 bowl games in last 13 years (more than Fla).
Now as far as the mythical NC…UGA had the same record in 2002 when UGA won the SEC title that Fla had when they won the SEC title but didnt get invited to the BCSNC.
Thats not an indictment on UGA thats an indictment on the BCS (we need a playoff).

NEWS FLASH!!!
AP – COACH PAUL JOHNSON ARRESTED!!!
The Atlanta Police Department issued a statement this afternoon that Coach Paul Johnson of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team has been arrested for assault and battery and is awaiting bail. No further information was released.
Georgia Tech’s athletics director Dan Radakovich issued the following statement: “We are investigating the incident and we do not at this time wish to comment on the altercation that took place between Coach Johnson and Coach Groh. For those who would like to help we have started a fund to help bail Coach Johnson out.”
When asked to comment about previous encounters with the law Mr. Radakovich stated, ”I can adamantly put those rumors to rest. Coach Johnson is dealing with stressful issues right now but all those charges have been dropped, except for the neighbor who’s kid got punched in the face for walking on his lawn and a couple of Santas he allegedly roughed up after the Georgia game. We have called in Nurse Ratchit from the Grady Memorial Hospital psychiatric unit who is familiar with those cases.”
No mention was made of the supposed friction that has become evident between the two coaches or of the rumors that Coach Johnson would take a leave of absence and that Coach Groh would become interim Head Coach.
We questioned a janitor, Muhammed Chang, who claims to have witnessed the altercation. “I was mopping floor and Mr. Paul was riding Mr. Groh hoverround. He running into wall. Mr. Groh come out of bathroom and see Mr. Paul acting as fool. Mr. Grow throw dirty diaper at Mr. Paul. Mr. Paul say ‘Hey, are you that stupid?’ then Mr. Paul punch Mr. Grow in eye.”
As well as the pending charges against Coach Johnson, it has been learned that Coach Groh has taken out a restraining order.
Radakovich insists that this will present no problem as the defense can practice at the Morehouse facilities. “It will be a shorter bus ride for our athletes anyway,” he stated, “as most of them are already taking classes there.”

Love how the ‘Bama folks talk smack. Sure ya’ll got your NC in 92 and 2010. But you mortally sucked for alot of years in between because your fannies got caught cheating. Ya’ll are right about one thing though: Georgia has to catch up with Florida before we can worry about SEC or NC. However, Dawgs did finish #2 as recently as 2008. We have a good nucleus of players to build on. Offense will be good in 2010 ,defense will have a learning curve but just the style change alone will be an improvement.
To the victors go the spoils, Bama fans. So flap your untoothed mouths while you can, you’ve earned it. But Georgia isn’t near as far away from being “relevent” as you might think.

Sure Tech finished ahead of Georgia. Better record. But on the scoreboard, which has nothing to do with popularity, Dawgs were a better team. Again. for the 8th time in the last 9 years. Just like Florida has been the better team 17 of the last 20 years against us.

1) Everytime Mark Richt has an 8 win season, he follows it up with a Natl Champ worthy type of year, see 2002 13-1 & 2007.
2001 8 wins
2002 13-1 won the SEC
2006 8 WINS
2007 11-2 finished #1 ranked
2009 8 wins
2010 11-2 or 13-1
2) Every 10 years, starting at 1980, Richt’s college, Miami, or the team he coaches, Georgia, has appeared in the National Championship.
1980 Georgia
1990 Miami
2000 Miami
2010 Georgia
3) The last 5 Natl Champonships have featured someone’s name that starts with an “M”, and has no more than 5 letters.
Miles, Mack, Meyer, Mark (2010).

I’ll leave the rest to the 1eyedJacka$$ that has a bigger mouth than brain. If you took the time to review my posts you would see a little reality beyond just being a fan. Reality is a good thing, delusion and blind fandom is something else. Both Tech and UGA made good hires. UGA has a larger fan base, larger stadium, better recruits, more money, etc. but the past two years have not been stellar ones for the boys in Athens. I hope both teams have a great 2010 and are both undefeated when they meet in November. I don’t think that will be the case but wouldn’t it be fun if they did? It would be very hard for ESPN to have a bias toward the great state of Georgia wouldn’t it? Peace.

5) Mark Richt’s name has 9 letters

Georgia has 45 players in the NFL right now.
Georgia ranked higher than Florida, Tenn, Bama, or LSU
Here’s the link that shows how many players from each college team are in the NFL. Bama really low, for example.

Do I think Todd Grantham is better than Brian VanGorder ?
Yes. Next question ?
Todd Grantham who is on campus 22 January 2010 quote : ““Right now, take the players that you have here, the players that are committed and you basically rank those players. I think it’s important that you find ways to get your best players on the field. That’s what we’re going to do over the next few months. We’re going to be evaluating the players that we have right now. We’re going to be teaching them the system. We’re going to work to find out the things that they do well and find ways to put players in position to be successful to make plays. Ultimately, you have to make plays on defense and to do that you have to have guys that are playmakers. I think you do that by getting your best players on the field. I think player evaluation is critical.”
He is NOT Redshirting 9 of the Very Best Top Football Players, and then go 8-5 without them. That strategy has not worked. Oh, it’s worked if you like looking at the won/loss record of LSU and Florida in the same timeframe Coach Richt has been here, and see that BOTH of them have been BETTER than us. It’s worked if you look at Alabama and see that they too have passed us by. That’s 4th in The SEC for UGA. It’s worked if that is what you want. What you settle for. To be 4th in your own conference, never mind that during the Coach Richt Era not only are all these SEC teams a LOT BETTER than we are, but that on the National Stage so too have all these teams been BETTER in the Coach Richt Era than we are :
Southern California
Texas
Florida
Alabama
LSU
Boise State
Oklahoma
Ohio State
All of these teams are not only FAR MORE SUCCESSFUL overall than we have strapped ourselves with in the Coach Richt Era, but every single one of them except for Boise State has WON IT ALL.
3 out of 20, that’s what we’ve done in our own Division of our own Conference, never mind the National Stage after you get out of your own Conference. Out of our own Division of our Conference we are 3 wins out of 20 games against Florida.
They have totally killed us recruiting. Truth be told they have recruited the very top football players from the state of Georgia. They always have. They own us.
They own Coach Richt at 2-7 for us.
Todd Grantham understands that we UGA fans want more than that. We want to be better than that.
He knows we are out-recruited in our own state.
He knows we have left 9 of not our best players but 9 of the best players in all of America on the Sidelines, Redshirted in a season we sorely needed them at 8-5 with horrid losses to horrid football teams like 7-6 UNRANKED both Kentucky and the vols.
And, we tried to Redshirt Washaun Ealey the Number 11 Tailback Nationally we recruited last year too. Until the 3rd quarter of the 5th game, then we ripped the Redshirt Off Washaun Ealey.
Todd Grantham will tell Coach Richt and Mike Bobo to get Washaun Ealey on the field in Game 1 last year, were he here. That he is a hard player for his players to stop.
And, he wouldn’t be looking at Richard Samuel and Caleb King as our Saviors when it is obvious to everyone you have to play favorites to put those 2 ahead of Washaun Ealey. The season before this, Richard Samuel and Caleb King proved that they don’t catch the ball well, don’t block well, do not hold on to the football well, and do not run well. Not as well as Washaun Ealey.
Todd Grantham also knows that UGA has sent our Secondary Defensive Backs to the NFL for the time when he got started in the NFL 11 years ago, and that we don’t have those players on this Defense this year, or last year or the year before.
What we once had, we haven’t had.
We lined up All-America Secondary Players in our Backfield my whole lifetime. I picture them. They are indelibly in my mind, clearly. Those players go elsewhere from our state. Now. We don’t get them.
Beat Florida. Yeah. Right.
I think we have some this coming season. I really do. In fact, I know we do. I have seen them. Not that they got to play much.
Knowshon Moreno Redshirted.
So we only get to see him 2 years.
The best Running Back we’ve had in 3 Decades.
And, we Redshirt him.
B.S.
Leading the nation in Turnovers and Penalties and Arrests/Suspensions EVERY YEAR since the very day DJ Shockley graduated with Honors in 2005. That’s 5 years ago now.
3 of the last 4 years, UGA Bulldogs have no business claiming that we are even deserving of being a Ranked Team in the Final AP Poll Top 25.
3 of the last 4 extremely disappointing seasons, because our Offense sucks.
We don’t evaluate talent well.
We don’t.
We needed Todd Grantham. I hope he stays here a long time for us before becoming a head coach elsewhere. I still do not think we have any strategy whatsoever on play calls, either. But, I am certainly aware of the fact that he ranks players and figures out how to get the best players on the field making plays.
That part I am totally clued into.
We have NOT done that.
We are going to have a very successful year for Todd Grantham. He is a smart guy. He can look at this Defense as well as anyone can. It takes just a few moments to realize that UGA did not have good players in the Secondary last year. Those guys are all gone.
We Redshirted 9 of the Best Players in the Nation.
That doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out, either.
We have a hell of a lot of Number 7 in the Nation Best Recruiting Classes, 10 in a row now according to Both Rivals and Scout.com.
We have, in short, a not solid or very capable starting 11 on Defense, we have in fact a Great Defense this coming season.
And, the 2 Best Kickers on one team in America. We just have a weak offense.
Todd Grantham came here because he considers this an opportunity in his career. He is not an UGA man. He is a football coach.
Todd Grantham is not a Coach Richt guy either. Loyalty. Give me a damn freaking break RED DOG 77.
Why did he come here ?
To teach us with 11 years NFL experience that which we have demonstrated we have no clue about.
Rank them, get them on the field, coach them to be in position to take advantage of what they do well, but mostly get them on the damn field and leave them on the bloody hell field, making plays – the playmakers. . This will catch on at UGA and it will catch on with the Recruits.
You have a 53-man roster in the NFL. You cannot have your Best Players not play. Every other team has 53 players. You get your 53 players the best 53 and you play the hell out of them.
B.S. on this Redshirt our best football players and then go out and embarrass yourself against lousy 7-6 UNRANKED Kentucky and lousy 7-6 UNRANKED vols.
Kick-Off Coverage should be Todd Grantham’s JOB ONLY.
We still have to do something about the damn offense. We cannot waste these years of Todd Grantham with the FAILED OFFENSE of Mike Bobo. He doesn’t even try to make 1st down on 3rd and 10. No effort. He has beat NO Final AP Poll Top 10 team, losing EVERY GAME. He is 5-6 vs the Final AP Poll Top 25. And, worse yet he has even LOST to FOUR (4) TEAMS UNRANKED in the Final AP Poll Top 25.
We cannot line up, call a play without a penalty, and even execute the poorly designed play the players are not coached how to execute without a Turnover Fumble or Interception, never mind the play was never designed to be a play to gain 10-yards on 3rd and 10. And, under Mike Bobo, we do THAT EXACTLY against Top 10, against Top 25 and against UNRANKED teams.
Coach Richt Era 17-19 vs Final AP Poll Top 25 plus 8 Losses to Unranked teams
That is JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH RED DOG 77. And, there is NOTHING you can say that will SHUT ME UP ON MY POINT that you are and I am NOT satisfied with :
Coach Richt Era 17-19 vs Final AP Poll Top 25 plus 8 Losses to Unranked teams
So, do NOT get all hyped up on your Kool-Aid and tell me we are WINNING ANY DAMN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP when after this season we LOSE 14 seniors and another half a dozen Juniors. Beat Florida. B.S. Now I return you to your FEEL GOOD LIARS hyping the crap out of Coach Richt’s coaches on the Offensive Side of the Ball where they have done NOTHING. DISNEYdawg RED DOG 77.
Rank them, get them on the field, coach them to be in position to take advantage of what they do well, but mostly get them on the damn field and leave them on the bloody hell field, making plays – the playmakers. . This will catch on at UGA and it will catch on with the Recruits
We continue to be out-recruited in our own state, with only 3 better at sending their high school players from their state to the NFL. In the Secondary, on both lines, and especially on offense. Oh, yeah, we are really going to beat Florida RED DOG 77, and win National Championships like Florida you tell us all RED DOG 77 while telling us we cannot talk about anything but how great we’ve been in the Coach Richt Era. UGA has great players, as good as any other team and better than most. Simply stated they have underachieved and Granthams comments about the NFL players prove that the talent has always been here. I root for UGA everygame except one and hope that Grantham does change the culture. Whoever the person is who wants to redshirt all of these players (knowshon, washaun for part of season) is an idiot. Great players (except tebow) do not stay to graduate. Urbans real success is he tells players if you are good enough for special teams then you will be on the field, if not you will redshirt. Look at UF’s kickoff and punt teams and they are loaded with top true freshman. Grantham is a breath of fresh air, even for me.

A lot of contradiction between Opinion and Fact.
The fact of the matter is we have achieved and exceeded the level of recruiting class rankings. We have not had a #2 class in recruiting but finished #2 in the Nation three years ago.
We have also finished in the top ten other years as well matching recruitment rankings.
Do we want to be #1, YES! So does everyone else. We have been close but not there yet. Grantham hopefully will bring a different approach taking us to the next level.
People get on this Site and start spewing false information not having a clew that their entry is true or false just to pi$$ others off.

I thank UGA and TECHs new DCs will do well!!! My question if TECH and UGA make it to the championship, do they both pull the high school card and say we got bigger things to focus on??????? TECH fans you and your coaches said that after the UGA loss……………
Its only Jan and we are talking about predictions. Here is my take on next year for the two school…….
TECH, lost alot more then UGA and the ACC is stronger!!! I thank the U and FSU or back. Alot to replace on that O and how do u replace those two all americans on the D. I do belive Al is goin to be an upgrade but maybe not enough. TECH goes 7-5 or 8-4 Peach Bowl or next game up…
UGA has alot of big holes to feel. Granthem is a big mystery… He lost alot on the D that has to be replaced and plus all the holes on the offense side if the ball. UGA has a lot less stressful schedule… I thank UGA may rebound but will go 8-4 or 9-3… Maybe Outback bowl?

FCS football is the best, I agree with you about tech but UGA does not have any holes on offense except the unknown at QB. They have a returning offensive line, great receivers and arguably 2 of the top 5 running backs in the SEC. I think they will do no worse than 10-3 with either a win in the Citrus or Outback.

look foward to seeing the dawgs get back to their winning ways after a year losing their best players early yet again to the nfl. if the coaches feel that the player needs to redshirt than im ok with that. better for the player to be better prepared the next year. as long as uga keeps putting players in the nfl the recruting will be fine. richt seems to be doing just fine the way his teams are playing and winning more times than not. his national title will be here soon enough and then bulldawg can finally quit crying about how bad a job richt is doing..
bulldawg,,sit back and enjoy the ride and just relax. mark richt and company will get uga over the top.. we have a stronger more experienced team coming back next year with most of our starters returning on offense and defense. also throw in some redshirt freshmen who are very talented and now a year older and wiser filling in for the missing seniors on the def line…uga will beat fla this year just like they did 2 years ago. no worries

i think if uga beats fla( which uga will have the better team) next year then uga wins the east and if they win the east they get a shot at ala in the sec championship. even if they lose that game to ala that is still a great rebound from this past year with alomost everyone coming back for that 2011 season which will be a great year for the bulldogs. the tide has turn once again in favor for the bulldogs. while teams like fla and tenn are going young next year and ala the following year uga will be primed and ready with a team full of jrs and srs on both sides of the ball for a shot at the National Title game.

ugaaccountant, I disagree. Staffords junior year, UGA should have won the SEC east at least, you had 2 players from that team drafted in the top 10 in the NFL draft; they under acheived. When it comes to recruiting rankings, there is not much difference in the top 10 rankings. If you consistently have a top 10 class then it is up to the coaching talent to push them over the top.

ga gator its not that hard to believe..look back at the teams that won it all the last 5 years or so…team is full of jrs and srs…the last two years uga has to play mostly sophs with sr and jrs scatterd around due to injuries or early entries to the nfl. just a matter of time when uga wins the sec again and with that comes a shot at the title thanks to all the good teams the sec have.

staffords jr year he had mostly freshmen and sophs blocking for him that didnt match up really well with fla and ala jrs and srs in the trenches, which can cost a team a victory when the teams are even with the amount of talent on a team.(like fla and ala) now next year uga will have all the experience in the trenches on offense and the offense should look much better even with a red shirt freshmen calling the plays. on def uga will be young on the line but pretty solid at the ends and linebacker position..corners will be a year older and wiser having to play early this past year should help them out. and with a more agressive style of play might even help them use there speed and quickness to get turnovers. ints for touchdowns will happen more often.

Like I said, we will find out in Jax. We also have several players who missed last year with injuries coming back; the #2 receiver from 08, starting outside LB from 08 and 2 starters from the beginning on the OL at the beginning of 09 coming back plus I like our chances with the 06 High School player at QB over an unknown at QB for your team. This I will also agree with; UGA will be better than last and we will be not as good on defense but better on offense, so it should make for a very competitive game. What your team has to overcome is getting UF out of their head. There have been several more talented teams for UGA get beat by the Gators. Cant wait, see you in Jax (plus all of the home UGA games I attend).

UGA has the facilities, fan base, money and are in the right conference. The team needs only to do 3 things: play to their ability not competition, make Sanford stadium not just a beautiful setting but a place that they OWN and 3rd get UF out of their heads. Florida is in their heads the same way FSU was in ours was when Spurrier was at UF.

9-4, possibly 10-3.
When we are 3rd and 10, we run the football.
Our Runnings Back Coach never played the posiiton and doesn’t know how to teach a running back to carry the ball, hold on to it.
Our receivers coach never played there either, and he taught AJ Green ? But, can’t teach Marlon Brown ? What’s the deal with 3 Tight Ends who can play in the NFL and we don’t give it to any of them ? And, what is the deal when we were struggling running the ball that we never gave it to the 2 NFL Fullbacks ? Our quarterbacks ? Did you see evidence we taught Matthew Stafford to value the football with 18 fumbles and 33 interceptions to 51 TD passes ? Did you see evidence we taught Logan Gray a thing ? Joe Cox, he was readied by our coaches on Offense ?
Oh, so now we have 3 Quarterbacks who are Freshmen. You think we have those ready, I see.
After this season, we lose 14 seniors and 6 Juniors.
We will have stripped the team.
This recruiting class is not nearly up to snuff compared to the Number 7 class every year for 9 previous years.
This class will end up about Number 13.
9-4 maybe 10-3.

But none of that crap really matters anyway. Not kidding here, but what UGA really needs is a sports psychologist. I have been to most of the games (jax) since the late 80’s and since 1990 you have lost many times when you had better talent. For some reason, UF is in their heads.

It will be glaring the Great Defense compared to the poorly coached, Offense.
Then, maybe about the time Todd Grantham goes to be head coach somewhere where they have great players like we do here in this state (which narrows it down to California, Florida and Texas only) then, maybe Coach Richt will get us an offensive coordinator.
As CEO, he has made 1 great coaching decision.
Does anyone really think Coach Richt hired Todd Grantham ?
They took that decision out of his hands.
The days leading up to the hire, Coach Richt was doing ANYTHING but trying to hire a D.C.

I think there is a good chance you could be a political strategist in charge of spin if you ever wanted to get out of your moms basement and get a job.
All those teams you list that have out performed UGA over what ever time period. What happened to the argument you presented before about how bad those teams really were no matter how they ranked? Remember how Texas is really no good since they only beat one top 25 team this year and that was NE and they shouldn’t be in the top 50? Remember that? Remember that Boise SHOULD NEVER be ranked in the top 50 just because they beat OU one time years ago. SO which is it? Are those teams better since it fits your argument now or are they worse since that fit your argument before?
If you really want to get a feel for the state of the program, look at the last ten years SEC W vs L. That will give you a better idea of where we are. You might also look and see that no other team in the NATION has as many 8 win season in a row as UGA. Not USC, TX, Boise, ND, NOBODY. They must be doing SOMETHING right over there.
You can certainly criticize recruiting. It is hilarious to me to have these people mad because we don’t do better with a top 10 class every year. Its because the people we play have even better classes. There is no excuse to have incoming classes ranked lower than LSU, UA or AU. UF will always have an advantage because of geographical location and there are alot of really good players in the state. This year AU has no depth at all so many highly ranked recruits are going there to have the opportunity to play sooner. AU wont out recruit GA on many occasions. Also recruiting classes are dependent on what positions you need. If a team gets a great QB they get ranked higher than if they get a great C. There are alot more 5 star QB’s and RB’s than C’s. So class ranking isn’t the best way to evaluate what you bring in.
But the main point is that one year of fumbles and interceptions does not make a program bad. Like I said they are the only D-1 school to have 8 wins in the last 13 years. Not a single school in the country has been that consistent. I think if you feel that it’s so bad in Athens you should pick any one of the other D-1 schools who can’t make that claim and ride their roller coaster a while. I”m tired of reading your crap. You think it you write enough BS that it makes it true. It’s like a colleague of mine who thinks if he argues a case loud enough what he says will turn into being true.

Thanks Grantham. I have been trying to explain this to my fellow Georgians for yrs. A lot of college football fans in south Ga love da gators, I’m a true gator hater. The state of Ga produce just as many players as Fla,USC,TX and Bama. The difference is those colleges keep their best in state players, Ga let some of their best in state players get away. Our young men are going to the programs that’s winning. We produce a lot of NFL talent, but we are not winning SEC or National Championships. Richt got to let his players play, if a guy is talent enough to be multitask on the field then use him. Richt get some speed, you were at FSU you know this and plus UF has killed us with speed

GA GATOR, I’m not labeling you buddy, I just think Ga Gator is similar to Benedict Arnold or Tuscaloosa Tiger.
As far as the 8 wins go, I would argue that it means nothing to you because the team you support can’t make the claim. I am sure most UGA fans would want 13 straight 13 win seasons, and I would argue that the wife beater donning six pack popping crowd that post here expect it and believe for some reason it is their right to have it. It’s the same people that think Erk Russel was the epitome of success when in actuality if he were coaching with the same results today as he had back then this blog would be filled with “Fire Erk Now!”
There is no denying the UF success since Steve Spurrier became coach. I believe that on a consistent basis, no team will be able to compete year in and year out with UF unless they at some point hire an incompetent coach and the reason that is so is due to a combination of geographical area and the technology associated with recruiting today. Unless there is a log jam at a particular position, I believe any kid who isn’t a life long fan of another school would go to UF given the choice. They will consistently gather the best players and should therefore have the best team. I don’t believe there is anything UGA or any other team can do about that besides moving to central Florida. That’s not to say that other teams can’t beat them on a given day, but if 2009 AL plays 2009 UF nine more times UF wins 8 or more. Ole Miss beat them last year. It will happen. But it what won’t ever happen is a 5 loss season unless there is a bad coach. The players they recruit will always bee too good. Better than those, on an overall basis, than those at the other SEC schools.
So I’m not here to debate the superiority of the UF football program, but it’s not only superior to ours but to the rest of the nation as well. This hire was a big step up and it will make us more competitive on a given day against UF than before. If UF has a bad year next year it will be an abboration no an indication of the state of the program. Much like this year for UGA.
I think a strong argument can be made that 6 or 7 of the top 15 teams in the country this past year were found in the SEC no matter their W-L record. Texas only beat 1 top 25 team and that was NE who should have been unranked. The QB’s between Boise and TCU were supposed to be all world. They made Joe Cox look like Joe Namath. Cinci??? PULEASE! minor league. UF was the most talented team in the country and should be most years as long as they keep a decent head coach and remain located in central FL.
I only commented to you as I can’t understand someone who doesn’t pull for the home team. Thats all.

Guess what DA? BULLDAWG you lost all respect with that comment. You think that because you type something long and say it loud it’s true. That’s some crystal ball you’ve got there to predict AL would beat TX.
There is so much more that goes into how good a team is than its record. See Cinici, a minor league team wound up ranked in the top 10. And if you think the Boise State program fields better teams than UGA then maybe you should become a fan of their team, get an NCAA TV package tapped into your moms basement. Surely they are on somewhere. The QB at Boise as well as the one at TCU , makes Joe Cox look like Joe Willie. The “final AP Top 25″ is useless as a parameter to judge the power level of a football team. Boise, TCU, Cinci, NE, CLEMSON, Tech, Miami, FL, Utah, PITTSBURGH????, hell Cinci beat them!, and WI none of those teams could have beaten UGA as bad as we were this year and you try to use the top 25 as your yardstick for success?? Pathetic.
Redshirting 7 of the best players in the country? WHO says they are some of the best in the country? YOU? You obviously know nothing about talent since you proclaim Boise to be better than a good high school all star team. Why not redshirt those D Linemen when you already have 3 that will play in the NFL that are seniors? Bozo. You have no idea why those guys were redshirted, they could have needed more time to get used to the academics, or a million reasons, but the point is YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHY. Why don’t you coach a D-1 team since you know so much?
Just because you write long posts and write them in that ignorant format you use doesn’t make it true. I’m done with you. Save your ignorant posts for someone who isn’t bright enough to know the difference. I won’t be reading another.

I am one who depends on history to tell me what will happen inthe future. Both college and pro football teams generally run in cycles. New England, and U of Fla. are examples of teams that have bucked history and have done well over a long period of time. That said look at Dallas who just won its first playoff game in over a decade [ Dallas has always been americas team, but is just breaking back into prominance] New Endland was down this year. Now look at Oklahoma, Southern Cal, LSU, Notre Dame, college teams that are on a down cycle, and I will add UGA to that list. Nebraska, Miami, GT, and a few other ‘name’ schools seem to be on the upswing……Hell, Alabama lost to La. Monroe year before last……..I have no problem with pride when it comes to supporting “your” team….But be careful, funny things can happen during football season. Me? I am a GEORGIA BULLDOG…. and damn proud of it, and look for my Dogs time to come soon. I hope all on these blogs will enjoy their teams, and good luck to all. But remember in every game there is a winner and a loser…..I believe college football is a gentlemans game…….A little bravado is understandable…..But Please try to tone down some of the foul mouth trash…..it really distracts from a Great Game……..Thanks for your consideration…..RED

PHIL, you child trying to act like you are a lawyer. Invalid arguments and lies. You say that UGA Bulldogs only fumbled and threw interceptions 1 year of the last 4. That we have been GREAT BEYOND MEASURE AND NO TEAM BETTER IN THE NATION. You even said that to a Florida fan about Florida.
Which of these last 4 Consecutive Seasons for UGA Bulldogs is the ONLY 1 YEAR UGA HAS FUMBLED OR THROWN INTERCEPTIONS you lie about as well PHIL ?
2009 :
23 FUMBLES
17 INTERCEPTIONS
2008 :
19 FUMBLES
10 INTERCEPTIONS
2007 :
18 FUMBLES
10 INTERCEPTIONS
2006 :
22 FUMBLES
16 INTERCEPTIONS
You just MAKE UP WHATEVER YOU WANT TO MAKE UP PHIL. Your arguments are ALL LIES. UGA Bulldog fan PHIL saying to a FLORIDA GATOR that HE THE FLORIDA GATOR WISHES HE WERE US UGA BULLDOGS’ FANS.
PHIL, pardon me sir, but Florida has WON 3 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS starting 1996. It has been 3 DECADES since we Won a NC PHIL. Over the last 2 DECADES PHIL, UGA has beat Florida 3 times. And, you think that Florida just WISHES they were us ?
God Almighty PHIL. That alone, never mind your lies about me saying that Texas is NOT BETTER THAN COACH RICHT when Texas Clearly Has Been, Is and Will Be compared to us in the Coach Richt Era. Do you really believe anyone believes you that I said that Texas is NOT AS GOOD as UGA in the Coach Richt Era ? YOU KNOW PHIL I said that Texas is NOT AS GOOD AS ALABAMA this year. So, why did you LIE PHIL ?
In the Coach Richt Era, Texas has Won 101 games and lost only 16, while Coach Richt has won only 90 and Lost 27.
Oh yeah, I said that Texas is NOT AS GOOD AS UGA in the Coach Richt Era. What total B.S. lies PHIL, you child.
1 of your colleagues yells when he is arguing a case. Probably because you LIE and try to drown him out in grammar school recess.
PHIL, I already did the research and LISTED THE 9 Coach Richt RECRUITS on last year’s recruiting class whom Coach Richt DID REDSHIRT. They are all 4-Star players ranked in the Top 15 in the nation at their position.
Hells Bells, Coach Richt tried to Redshirt Washaun Ealey with me in here every week from this time last year until he finally ripped the Redshirt off the Number 11 Best Running Back in the Nation.
1 DT with 3 seniors my butt.
PHIL, YOU WISH you cannot QUOTE ME as you do that I said too that not only did Washaun Ealey have to play against Oklahoma State, but that Zach METTENBERGER did too. That you cannot have a class like we have now, with 3 Freshmen Quarterbacks. Zach METTENBERGER had to hit the field. Yeah, we didn’t need Washaun Ealey or Zach METTENBERGER last season, a 5-LOSS SEASON in which we lost to 2 UNRANKED in the Final AP Poll Top 25 teams, vols and Kentucky for God’s sake. Zach METTENBERGER is one of the Top 10 Best Quarterbacks in the NATION according to EVERY RECRUITING SOURCE we all realize you know more about than they do PHIL with the millions they are paid for you instead you are the guru about PHIL. That’s right, tell yourself we could not have used Zach Mettenberger against these teams Joe Cox sick, injured, sore-armed and unable to compete effectively.
Chris BURNETTE, Dallas LEE and Austin LONG are all 3 ranked in the Top 16 in the Nation on the OL. Nationally all 3 in the Top 16 best OL in the NATION, PHIL. Were you watching the same games I was watching PHIL ? We were told that our OL Coach was the best in the nation from Auburn. We were told our OL was great beyond measure. Instead, what I saw I have no idea what games you were watching, our OL could not block for the run or the pass. They could FALSE START. That’s about it. They could HOLD. That’s about it. They blocked in 1 game all season long. They blocked against the Number 13 team in the nation. So we beat 1 Top 25 team, Number 13. We LOST TO ALL THE REST and for good measure LOST to 2 UNRANKED teams because we could not block our way out of a WET PAPER DAMN BAG. Yeah, right PHIL, we only had 1 DT with 3 senior DT, so we didn’t need these 3 Top 16 best OL in the nation in a 5-LOSS SEASON.
You are such a LIAR.
A D.A.
Chase VASSER. We didn’t need Chase VASSER last year in a 5-Loss Season without him, either. Our linebackers were all so freaking great last season. He adds nothing to the rotation obviously either.
Jordan LOVE. Damn it. We had the sorriest Secondary we’ve ever had in over 50 years of me watching UGA every game last year. But, God Above Knows you know MORE ABOUT UGA FOOTBALL THAN I PHIL. All we had was a Defensive Tackle we Redshirted and we had 3 senior DT last season, you say. Excuse me ? We didn’t need Jordan LOVE. Nah, nothing like that.
Kwame GEATHERS and Derrick LOTT would not have helped one bit against Oklahoma State whom we LOST to in a 5-LOSS season, when against Oklahoma State we got zero interceptions because our Defensive Front got a grand total of 2 tackles for a loss of 3 yards total lost. No sacks, no forced fumbles, no nothing about Oklahoma State. Hell, Houston beat Okie State, but not us. Ole Miss slaughtered Okie State 21-7 but not UGA. That is the state of this football program that Ole Miss is better than us too, last season. Oklahoma Lost 5 games last year including 13-41 to Texas Tech for God’s Sake; but, even Oklahoma beat Okie State. We certainly didn’t need Geathers and Lott and NOT THE 7, but the 9 TOP-RANKED FOOTBALL PLAYERS IN THE COUNTRY ACCORDING TO SCOUT.COM AND RIVALS who know a hell of a lot more than you, that Coach Richt Redshirted.
Nah.
We didn’t need those 9 players – 10 if he had had his way and got to REDSHIRT WASHAUN EALEY like he did KNOWSHON MORENO.
Or, like the 2 passes we threw to Marlon Brown for 15 yards total all last season, when Marlon Brown is the Best Football Player in the State of Tennessee and the 2nd best Receiver in the United States of America. Nah, when AJ Green was injured basically for the entire 2nd half of a 13 game season, we didn’t need to throw the ball to Marlon Brown.
IT’S TOO OBVIOUS.
Coach Richt’s strategy is WRONG, and it has NOT WORKED.
We had the Number 63 Scoring Defense in the Nation last year and you PHIL try to tell me we didn’t need Kwame GEATHERS and Derrick LOTT.
PHIL, Excuse me, we needed all 10 of these REDSHIRTS including Washaun EALEY.
PHIL, uh pardon me, we LOST 5 GAMES, son.
We had the Number 80 Passing Offense and the Number 47 Rushing Offense.
Coach Richt thought he would get a BYE for last year, so he just wrote it off before it ever started.
HE PLAYS FREAKING FAVORITES.
Coach Richt does NOT RANK the players and then get his best PLAYMAKERS on the field.
Every school gets 85 Scholarships for up to 4 years they are allowed to actually play in games, barring season injury.
You cannot WASTE 9 of the best players in the nation and then LOSE 5 GAMES.
That is B.S.

RED DOG 77, sir :
That’s not what you have been saying RED DOG 77.
“Oklahoma, Southern Cal, LSU, Notre Dame, college teams that are on a down cycle, and I will add UGA to that list.”
I said that. I said that my Beloved Georgia Bulldogs 3 of the last 4 years, have been hugely widely disappointing. That 1 of the last 4 years did we deserve to be ranked in the Final AP Poll Top 25. You might remember that year. The 1 not really sorry year of the last 4 years now. We got to play Number 19 Hawaii, a really sorry football team. That was our reward. That was the year too that we LOST to UNRANKED South Carolina, who did not even go to a bowl game. It is what we do. Lose once a year in the Coach Richt Era to a team who is UNRANKED. A home game Tween The Hedges, lost to an UNRANKED football team again, we’ve accomplished 8 times in the Coach Richt Era now.
We also were BLOWN OUT by the vols that same 1 year of the last 4 that we were not largely wildly disappointing. 14-35 they beat us. Then, the vols, and not us, got to play in The SEC Championship Game because of the LOSS.
The other 3 of the last 4 years, have been miserable years for all of us True UGA Bulldogs’ Football Fans.

Hot damn, we’ve really been great on OFFENSE.
.
.
OFFENSE.
We cannot line up and run a play without a Penalty.
We cannot line up and run a play without turning the football over.
We cannot figure out who Our Best Players are, and play them.
We give up on 3rd and 10 and run the football.
We cannot block for the pass.
We cannot block for the run.
We can hold.
We can false start.
We lose to an UNRANKED team in Final Poll EVERY YEAR for 9 years now.
We LOSE to the Top 25 teams MORE THAN WE BEAT THEM.
We have had 0 years when we got a great bowl game to cap a season.
We are an afterthought on the National Stage.
We are WORSE than LSU and FLORIDA in the Coach Richt Era.
We are WORSE than Alabama now too.
We are WORSE than Texas in the Coach Richt Era.
We are WORSE than Oklahoma in the Coach Richt Era.
We are WORSE than Southern California in the Coach Richt Era.
We are WORSE than Boise State in the Coach Richt Era.
We are WORSE than Ohio State in the Coach Richt Era.
We are CONSISTENTLY WORSE in the Coach Richt Era than ALL OF THESE TEAMS, INCLUDING NOW WE ARE THE 4TH BEST TEAM IN OUR OWN DAMN CONFERENCE.
17-19 vs AP Poll Final Top 25 and 8 Losses to UNRANKED teams.
Our Offense is the Problem. We do NOT have good play calls.
We waste the firepower handed to our Offensive Coaching Staff.
Bryan McClendon NEVER PLAYED RUNNING BACK for UGA.
Bryan McClendon was ONLY a RECEIVER for UGA.
His dad did. Maybe we should hire his DAD ?
He clearly cannot determine who should be our Running Back.
He clearly cannot teach any Running Back how to carry the ball so he doesn’t fumble it.
Bryan McClendon was a good Receiver when he played. Maybe he should coach Receivers ?
Why does it take until 3rd Quarter of 5th Game to play Washaun Ealey not Richard Samuel and not Caleb Freaking King ?
We Started Richard Samuel and Caleb Freaking do nothing King EVERY GAME at Tailback except 2 starts by Washaun Ealey.
WHO THE HELL DO YOU ANY OF YOU THINK IS A BETTER RUNNING BACK ?
I am not the 1 who is so damn smart, who should be hired as O.C. or head Coach. YOU ARE. You all say that Washaun Ealey CLEARLY IS OUR BEST RUNNING BACK.
So, why ?
Because we play FAVORITES, even those who have proven they are NOT as good as the ones BEHIND them on the Depth Chart.
Because our Running Backs’ Coach KNOWS NOTHING about Running Backs.
NOTHING.
.
Tony Ball NEVER PLAYED RECEIVER.
Tony Ball taught AJ Green to be great ? I think not.
Tony Ball cannot teach Marlon Brown but CAN AJ Green ?
What’s that all about ?
Tony Ball was a Great Running Back.
So, why then is Tony Ball Coaching the Receivers Coach Richt ?
Shouldn’t Bryan McClendon have Tony Ball’s job and Tony Ball, Bryan McClendon’s job ?
They NEITHER are doing the job you put them in with NO NFL EXPERIENCE and with NO EXPERIENCE at the POSITION you have them BOTH as POSITION COACH for.
Why did we play Marlon Brown and LOSE AN ENTIRE SEASON throwing him only 2 passes all season long for only 15 yards ?
Why ?
Because our Receivers’ Coach KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT RECEIVERS.
He didn’t teach AJ Green. AJ Green was already All-America before Tony Ball given this CUSHY DAMN JOB “coaching” AJ Green.
In the Florida game at half time, they interviewed Coach Richt and asked him what they had to do to get AJ Green involved in the game ? Coach Richt glibly shot back : Throw him the ball ?
.
John Lilly was a Quarterback.
What the F does John Lilly know about Tight Ends ?
John Lilly coached Tight Ends for Coach Richt the last couple of years.
John Lilly 1st year TE Coach, NO TE caught more than 5 passes all season.
John Lilly this past year has 3 of the best TE in the nation.
He cannot figure out that ORSON CHARLES with star in NFL for 10 years.
He thinks Aron White is BETTER because he caught 3 passes entire 2008.
Orson Charles caught 23 passes for 374 yards his freshman year, not 3.
John Lilly has Aron White Starter at TE for 3 passes caught freshman yr.
Why did we LOSE to Okie State, LSU and the vols ?
Losses because we did NOT Start our Best Players, play FAVORITES.
FAVORITES who proved they are NOT as good as one behind them on the Damn Depth Chart.
You want to KNOW WHY WE BEAT Georgia Tek & Texas A&M ?
Because ORSON CHARLES was Starting TE in those 2 games.
Why does it take 11 games to figure out Orson Charles GREAT Aron White back-up ?
Why ?
Because we play FAVORITES; that’s why.
Give me a Freaking Break 3 catches all of 2008 makes Aron White Starter until Game 12 of a 13 game season. YOU SAID Orson Charles should have been the Starter in Game 1. I am NOT the one who should be O.C. or head Coach. YOU SHOULD BE.
It takes us until Game 12 of 13 to make Orson Charles Starting TE ?
Idiots.
THERE is NO WAY to RANK the PLAYERS, and get your PLAYMAKERS on the DAMN FIELD and have Orson Charles NOT START until Game 12 in favor of Aron White.
.
MIKE FREAKING BOBO.
Alias Bozo.
He had a fine senior season for UGA, 1 of the best ever as our QB # 10 UGA.
Having taught our QB Matthew Stafford to have 51 Interceptions and Fumbles to his 51 Touchdown Passes, he is PROMOTED to Offensive Coordinator.
You may recall the previous OC was arrested for DUI. Neil Callaway.
Then, again, you may not. I do.
Neil Callaway finally left after his DUI as our Offensive Coordinator.
He apologized for the DUI, Neil Callaway did.
2006 with Matthew Stafford and Neil Callaway Offensive Coordinator :
.
79 NCAA Number 79 Passing Offense
90 NCAA Number 90 Total Offense
70 NCAA Number 70 Most Penalties
22 FUMBLES
16 INTERCEPTIONS
1 DUI by the Offensive Coordinator.
1 Beer Keg Photo at Talladega, following Callaway’s example, by his Starting QB.
Any correlation there you think ? Nice coaching job.
Neil Callaway is 11-25 at UAB replacing Watson Brown 62-74 at UAB.
The DUI and Beer Keg Photos were Major Distractions in 2006.
.
SO, WITH THAT BACKGROUND NEXT OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR hired by Coach Richt is MIKE BOZO, I mean Booboo, I mean Bobo, sorry.
.
2007 UGA with Matthew Stafford :
.
84 NCAA Number 84 Passing Offense
74 NCAA Number 74 Total Offense
85 NCAA Number 85 Most Penalties
18 FUMBLES

This, not only is NOT a good trend, but Mike Bobo has NEVER BEAT a Final AP Poll Top 10 team, LOSING EVERY GAME.
Duh.
5-6 vs. Final AP Poll Top 25 with 4 LOSSES to UNRANKED TEAMS.
Duh.
Has FAILED to PREPARE a SINGLE QUARTERBACK, ever.
Talks about VALUING THE FOOTBALL and how we have to do BETTER at VALUING THE FOOTBALL, because of ME in here.
Then, promptly goes out instead and HAS SOME OF THE WORST PERFORMANCES by his Quarterbacks on Offense EVER on ANY TEAM in the HISTORY of FOOTBALL with combined FUMBLES and INTERCEPTIONS now EXCEEDING the number of Touchdown Passes as OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR.
Plus, he cannot even line his players up and run a play without a penalty.
3rd and 10 ? Running Play. Every time.
1st down ?
Throw a Pass.
Mike Bobo is so predicable that UNRANKED TEAMS’ coaches UTTERLY take him to the DAMN CLEANERS.
4 LOSSES to UNRANKED TEAMS as Offensive Coordinator.
.
.
Bozo OC scored 12 points vs 6-Loss no Bowl Game South Carolina 2007.
Bozo OC scored 14 points vs 4-Loss vols 2007. vols scored 35.
Bozo OC put up 20 points vs 7-Loss Vandie 2007.
Bozo OC put up 24 points vs 5-Loss Kentucky 2007.

Bozo put up 14 points vs 5-Loss South Carolina 2008 Knowshon Stafford AJ Green.
Bozo put up 10 points vs Florida 2008 Knowshon Stafford AJ Green.
Bozo applauded by FL players when Logan Gray scored with 1 minute to go.
Bozo put up 17 points vs 7-Loss Auburn with Knowshon Stafford AJ Green.
Bozo 24 Mich St 27 vs 7-Loss Ar St, 26 vs 7-Loss vols, 24 vs 6-Loss Vandie
This was with Knowshon Moreno, Matthew Stafford AND AJ Green.

.
Bozo put up 10 vs Okie State UNRANKED Not Top 25 Final AP Poll 2009.
Bozo put up 20 vs 8-Loss Arizona State 2009.
Bozo put up 13 vs LSU who beat no Final AP Poll Top 25 team.
Bozo put up 19 vs 6-Loss vols. vols put up 45.
Bozo put up 27 vs 6-Loss UNRANKED Kentucky.
Bozo put up 17 vs Florida this year after 10 last year when he got applauds from the Florida players on the sidelines politely applauding Bozo for finally scoring with a minute left the only touchdown he got with Knowshon Moreno, Matthew Stafford and AJ Green.
.
.
It has been a MISERABLE RUN with Mike Bobo as Offensive Coordinator.
There is NO OTHER WAY TO DESCRIBE IT.
Mike Bobo has NEVER BEEN OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR ANYWHERE.
But, we have to have a coach with 11 years NFL Experience to be our Defensive Coordinator, but our Offensive Coordinator can be of the same mold as all the other coach Richt hires on his “coaching staff” other than this 1 Defensive Coordinator with 11 Years NFL Experience.
No Knowledge of good play calls and no one ever said he did.
No Experience as Offensive Coordinator.
No NFL experience.
No Proof he can call plays.
Boos by EVERY FAN at Sanford Stadium for Bozo’s PLAY CALLS.

BuLLdawg…I dont think you are looking at my posts clearly….First I would have rather won more games, and gone to a better bowl, and been ranked higher…..all of the above over the last three years…..However, I have absolutely loved my BULLDOGS, and either attended or watched every game the last three years. Now believing MY BULLDOGS should compete for the MNC just about every year, yea you could say we have been on a down turn of late….But what you failed to read was the fact that our players[ the ones we have] and the ones that will be enrolling soon are studs….and I believe with one year under his belt….Aaron Murray will mature and be ready to raise some eyebrows in 2011, same w/new 3-4 D it will take a year for that to take hold as well……So BuLLdawg we are down in ny opinion…….But just you wait till 2011……It most certainly be our time………Now BuLLdawg That is what I have posted…….Just what in the world have you posted ? I really cant seem to make much logic out of it……Mostly…I just scroll past Ol BuLLdawg……I still think you should try hard to write a book……or just GO TO BED, yea, if you went to bed……that would work for me and most that have commented to you as well…..RED

With Grantham running the D, the dawgs defense should explode next year. Florida’s way down without Tebow and Tennessee will have nothing. UGA should win the SEC east pretty easily and play bama for the SEC title. Grantham’s D should shut down the Tech offense with no problem. The DAWGS are back!

It’s comedy reading comments that seem to suggest UGA will have an advantage becuase Tebow left. Last I checked Tebow didn’t play one down of defense the past 2 years when UF dominated UGA on that side of the ball.
Yes UF loses 11 starters BUT UGA loses 8 themselves. Talent wise UF still has a pretty sizable advantage. Florida’s roster next year from Redshirt Sr’s to True Freshman will consist of recruiting classes that were ranked #2, #1, #3, #11 and #1. UF’s cumulative Average Star Rankings for those 5 classes is also considerably higher than UGA’s.
UF also has hands down a better head coach.
Last thing I found it hilarious that some dude was running off the statistics of Richt’s 9 years at UGA and trying to put them on the same level as Florida.
In those 9 seasons UF went:
10-2
8-5
8-5
7-5
9-3
13-1
9-4
13-1
13-1
UGA went:
8-4
13-1
11-3
10-2
10-4
9-4
11-2
8-5
Now if you really want to see the FACT UGA hasn’t been anywhere close to UF’s level for the last 9 years you should see that while yes UGA has a 13-1 year in 2002 UF had a 13-1 year 3 times, that UGA has NEVER gone to the SEC Championship without having to have to rely on another team to beat UF for them to get there and MOST OF ALL…..Richt is TWO and FREAKING SEVEN vs. Florida in that time. Game over…

Do any of you pathetic losers from a penal colony turned state HONESTLY think you will hold the series lead over Florida in 10 years? If so, it explains why you’re Jawja fans – you’re kiffin stupid! Hey, Mr. 5 Year Plan – you do realize that one of your two astounding victories this decade was against Ron Zook ON THE WEEK HE WAS FIRED, don’t you? Furthermore, do you realize that Botox Boy from Boca lost TWICE TO RON ZOOK? This is the rock you base your future on? Weak and sad, that’s what you are. What gimmick will the punkyard dogs try this season – black panties?
Cling to that series lead from the leather helmet days, little puppy dogs – it’s all you have going for you, and soon it will be gone like Herschel and Vince.
WE OWN YOU AND YOU KNOW IT!
