So what did Todd Grantham, Georgia’s new defensive coordinator, think about the Minnesota Vikings running up the score Sunday on the Dallas Cowboys?
Grantham, Dallas’ defensive line coach until its season ended with the playoff loss to Minnesota, was asked in a postgame interview posted on the Cowboys’ Website about the Vikings throwing a fourth-down touchdown pass with less than two minutes to play and a 27-3 lead. An interviewer told Grantham he could be unguarded in his comments since the Vikings are not on Georgia’s schedule next season.
“No, they’re not,” Grantham said. “I wish they were, though.”
He continued: “I really can’t answer why they would do it because I’m not in their head. But I do know what goes around comes around, and they play the Cowboys next year.”
A few other notes:
– Word is that Connecticut’s defensive backs coach, Scott Lakatos, is a candidate for a job on the Georgia coaching staff. (UConnReport.com says he interviewed on Saturday.) UGA still has two openings on its defensive staff after hiring Grantham, who said late Friday that he and head coach Mark Richt “will be working throughout the weekend and next week to iron some of those things out. But anything like that would be premature at this time.” Call it Phase 2 of the coaching search. And this phase will not be nearly so protracted as the DC hire.
– Lakatos has been the DB’s coach at Connecticut the past six years. Before that, he coached the secondary at Rutgers for three years.
– It took Georgia 43 days to hire Grantham. It took the Cowboys 30 minutes to hire his replacement. The Cowboys on Friday hired Paul Pasqualoni, fired earlier in the week as the Miami Dolphins’ defensive coordinator, to replace Grantham after this season. Pasqualoni previously coached three years for the Cowboys.
– This could be the connection between Lakatos and Grantham: Lakatos played for Pasqualoni at Western Connecticut and later coached under him as a graduate assistant at Syracuse.
– Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, by the way, told Dallas reporters that Grantham was “grossly overqualified” to be a defensive line coach, his job the past two seasons.
– Derek Dooley is taking over Tennessee’s football program at age 41 –- 10 years older than his father was when he took over Georgia’s program in 1964. “My qualifications were 10 times less than Derek’s,” Vince Dooley says, “but the beauty of youth is I didn’t know I wasn’t the best hire in the world. . . . Being an administrator [later], there is no way I would have hired me with my experience.”
– Click here for a flashback to the start of Derek Dooley’s coaching career as an unpaid graduate assistant under Jim Donnan at UGA in 1996.
– The night before Derek Dooley became Tennessee’s coach, Vince Dooley, 77, was in Houston to receive the Paul “Bear” Bryant Lifetime Achievement Award.

FIRST!!! I do think Lakatos would be an excellent hire. Just look what he has done at UCONN. Pretty impressive numbers for his secondary. Lets get these guys in place and start preparing for what I think is going to be a hell of a UGA team this year. GO DAWGS!!! GATA!!!

And yes I will be watching Dallas today, will be interesting to see that scheme and how well it works for Dallas. Looks like that is what you are going to see teams in the SEC switching to in the next few years.

One the one hand I would like Coach Grantham to be in Athens as soon as possible. On the other hand it would be cool to have a new DC who wears a NFC championship ring or even a Superbowl ring. I do not think a few more weeks delay in his actual arrival is going to have any negative impact on keeping our commits or filling in the last few open slots. Might even help.
In any case it is not hard to pull for Frowny-Faced Favre, Mr. Wishy-Washy-only cares about himself whiny boy, to get his clock cleaned. And now I sort of have to root for the Cowboys Defense to get the job done in a big way.
Woof Woof Woof!!!!

I think the Grantham hire is a good hire. Now Coach Grantham needs to put his staff together. I would like to see Shane Beamer from South Carolina be added to the staff as a special teams coach also he is a great addition to our recruiting team also South Carolina and Vandy our the only teams in the east that have not gone through coaching changes this off season he would be a good fit to the staff

I too think the Grantham hire can work out but will withold judgement until he names his coachesis a good hire. I don’t give a rats butt what the nay sayers say. I still say a 3-4 or ‘Hybrid” 3-4 is the best fit in Athens. The 4-3 just did not fit our personnel. And, frankly, we played our players out of position to even play a 4-3.
We just lost 6 of the 11 Starters on Defense, and frankly all but Rennie Curran really did not have the kind of UGA career that they wanted to have here. We lost more than just 6 Starters on Defense. We lost 3 Defensive Tackles Geno Atkins, Jeff Owens and Kade Weston. We also lost Reshad Jones, Bryan Evans and Prince Miller, typically burned on every pass – all 3. We also lost Marcus Washington and Darius Dewberry.
In the 1800’s modern psychiatric hospitals evolved from, and eventually replaced the older lunatic asylums. The development of the modern psychiatric hospital is also the story of the rise of organised, institutional psychiatry. While there were earlier institutions that housed the ‘insane’ the arrival at the answer of institutionalisation as the correct solution to the problem of madness was very much an event of the nineteenth century. To illustrate this with one regional example, in England at the beginning of the nineteenth century there were, perhaps, a few thousand ‘lunatics’ housed in a variety of disparate institutions but by 1900 that figure had grown to about 100,000. That this growth should coincide with the growth of alienism, later known as psychiatry, as a medical specialism is not coincidental. The treatment of inmates in lunatic asylums was often brutal, focused on containment and restraint. With successive waves of reform, and the introduction of effective evidence-based treatments, modern psychiatric hospitals provide a primary emphasis on treatment, and attempt where possible to help patients control their own lives in the outside world, with the aid of a combination of psychiatric drugs and psychotherapy.
Alec Ogletree will be on the field on the Opening Defensive Series. We needed this type player last year, and now we have him, finally. Todd Grantham will make a star out of Alec Ogletree.
Jakar Hamilton will be great back there in the Secondary with Alec Ogletree. This is a huge improvement over what we have had prior to Todd Grantham. Reshad Jones and Bryan Evans just didn’t get the job done back there like Alec and Jakar will.
TJ Stripling DE will make the rotation in his true freshman season. The 2nd best football player in the State of Georgia and 4th Best Defensive End in the nation, TJ Stripling out of Decatur, will only play here 3 years. Equate this into All-America and maybe even with all the DE ahead of him this up-coming season, this season. This is a Star.
So is smoking freebase cocaine as it has the additional effect of releasing methylecgonidine into the user’s system due to the pyrolysis of the substance (a side effect which insufflating or injecting powder cocaine does not create). Some research suggests that smoking freebase cocaine can be even more cardiotoxic than other routes of administration because of methylecgonidine’s effects on lung tissue and liver tissue
Justin Houston is a great All-SEC Defensive End for us. He will either play 1 or 2 years for Todd Grantham.
Demarcus Dobbs is going to be an All-SEC Defensive End again next season, as I know he was this last season.
Branden Smith will do far better than Prince Miller at Cornerback in his career, now as the Starter taking over for Miller. Mike Bobo did a very poor job of getting Branden Smith quality touches on Offense this season. It was like he just did those few plays to appease Branden Smith, not to let him Shine, like he should have.
Brandon Boykin is a Beast at the other Cornerback. I firmly believe we are in good hands at the Starting Positions in the Secondary, and Brandon Boykin is a load to try to tackle on the returns, as he just bounces off guys.
Bacarri Rambo has been a crowd favorite since the day we Signed him here. He is a big play player in the Secondary with a nose for the ball.
Now, the part everyone will talk about with an aggressive 3-4. You see ? The Defense is really quite good this coming season, getting rid of a load of players who frankly never did a thing but Start for us, and then get beat in the Secondary.
Darryl Gamble is a huge big man in the middle.
Vladimir Lenin was a big man but in his view, banks were an important framework for the building of a socialist society. He believed the ready-made big banks of capitalism could be converted into an effective apparatus for state control of the economy. However, banking activities ground to a halt in the chaos of the years immediately following the revolution. All commercial banks closed down in October 1917. Their staff received salaries but were instructed not to perform any banking functions in the hope that economic paralysis would bring down the Bolshevik regime. Nevertheless, by the end of the year, the Bolsheviks had succeeded in nationalizing all commercial banks, sending armed detachments to occupy their offices in Petrograd. While business accounts were confiscated, private savings accounts were respected. Commissar of Finance V. Menzhinsky ordered the re-establishment of the Department of Savings Offices. However, his efforts to maintain the private savings system failed during the period of Revolution from 1918 to 1921. Throughout those years, farm and consumer goods were requisitioned, nearly all money was withdrawn from the economy, and the exchange of goods operated on a barter system
Marcus Dowtin is a great football player with more mobility to be a play-maker at linebacker than Darryl Gamble. The 3-4 rotation will NOT have these 2 players 1 behind the other at the same position. Obviously, Darryl Gamble and Marcus Dowtin are 2 completely different players, pigeon-holed both at the same position in a 4-3 all last season. What a total waste to not have them both on the field at the same time. These 2 are getting split up in the 3-4 since obviously Todd Grantham has already said that he ranks the players and then gets his play-makers both of these guys are both on the field. There is 45 lbs. difference between Darryl Gamble and Marcus Dowtin. Those are not the same players for the same position. Gamble will be inside and Dowtin outside.
Akeem Dent.
Demetre Baker 4.4 outside linebacker might get to shine with sacks this year, from Florida.
Deon Rogers 4.4 outside linebacker might get to shine with sacks this year, from Florida.
6 Florida Recruits we get in 2 weeks’ time now. 6.
And, they all 6 are on the Defensive Side of the Ball, except for the Number 9 Offensive Linemen in the Country Brent Benedict.
Brandon Wood will get moved way up in the Rotation, and he has to come through for Todd Grantham. I expect Todd to spend a lot of time right here with this guy to get him to shine this season for us. Brandon Wood only had 2 QB hurries, 1 break-up, and no sack as a DE in the 4-3. He is too big for DE in college, NFL is a long ways off for Brandon Wood, at this point. I believe with the graduation of 3 DT, Brandon Wood will be asked to play a more natural DT in the 3-4. He is 300 lbs. Since when does a 300 lbs. Defensive Lineman get sacks from DE ? This is 1 of many mismatches of our personnel in the 4-3 having this big guy trying to get sacks at DE. He got zero sacks. Duh.
DeAngelo Tyson is also going to be counted upon a lot more this season too. You cannot look at this 3-4, and not recognize that DeAngelo and Brandon have to come through for us at DT right now this season.
Abry Jones made some huge big plays for us at DT this last season. These guys have to step up for the 3 NFL Defensive Tackles we just graduated. I believe that there is a basis here that these 3 must be asked to step it up. The season likely will hinge on their ability to do just that.
If we can withstand the greenhouse effect, or better yet its process by which absorption and emission of infrared radiation by gases in the atmosphere warm a planet’s lower atmosphere and surface. It was discovered by Joseph Fourier in 1824 and was first investigated quantitatively by Svante Arrhenius in 1896. Existence of the greenhouse effect as such is not disputed, even by those who do not agree that the recent temperature increase is attributable to human activity. The question is instead how the strength of the greenhouse effect changes when human activity increases the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Naturally occurring greenhouse gases have a mean warming effect of about 33 °C (59 °F). The major greenhouse gases are water vapor, which causes about 36–70 percent of the greenhouse effect; carbon dioxide (CO2), which causes 9–26 percent; methane (CH4), which causes 4–9 percent; and ozone (O3), which causes 3–7 percent. Clouds also affect the radiation balance, but they are composed of liquid water or ice and so are considered separately from water vapor and other gases.
Human activity since the Industrial Revolution has increased the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, leading to increased radiative forcing from CO2, methane, tropospheric ozone, CFCs and nitrous oxide. The concentrations of CO2 and methane have increased by 36% and 148% respectively since 1750. These levels are much higher than at any time during the last 650,000 years, the period for which reliable data has been extracted from ice cores. Less direct geological evidence indicates that CO2 values higher than this were last seen about 20 million years ago. Fossil fuel burning has produced about three-quarters of the increase in CO2 from human activity over the past 20 years. Most of the rest is due to land-use change, particularly deforestation.
CO2 concentrations are continuing to rise due to burning of fossil fuels and land-use change. The future rate of rise will depend on uncertain economic, sociological, technological, and natural developments. Accordingly, the IPCC Special Report on Emissions Scenarios gives a wide range of future CO2 scenarios, ranging from 541 to 970 ppm by the year 2100 (an increase by 90-250% since 1750). Fossil fuel reserves are sufficient to reach these levels and continue emissions past 2100 if coal, tar sands or methane clathrates are extensively exploited.
The destruction of stratospheric ozone by chlorofluorocarbons is sometimes mentioned in relation to global warming. Although there are a few areas of linkage, the relationship between the two is not strong. Reduction of stratospheric ozone has a cooling influence, but substantial ozone depletion did not occur until the late 1970s. Ozone in the troposphere (the lowest part of the Earth’s atmosphere) does contribute to surface warming.
Garrison Smith out of Atlanta is the 5th best player in the State of Georgia and the 3rd best Defensive Tackle in the Nation. While he might benefit from a Redshirt Year bulking up for DT in The SEC, this guy plays here 3 years. You cannot have that type of talent and tell them, you Redshirt. This “Tough Love” or Rodney Garner of this type of DT in the past, will be tempered in the sort term by Todd Grantham who will not be here forever, himself – not as DC in college for any amount of money. There is just too much money in the NFL, and he was demoted from Cleveland Browns DC to DL at Dallas. Garrison Smith gets on the field in Game 1.
Jalen Fields
Dexter Morant
These 2 guys at DE might fight it out to see which gets into the rotation in Game 1 at DE. They are both big guys with Jalen having quite a bit of speed. Jalen might get moved in the 3-4 to outside linebacker, right ? And, frankly, Dexter might get moved to Inside Linebacker in a 3-4. There are 2 versatile players who have a real penchant for making plays. They just need to be in the right scheme and then in the right position.
We are very gifted at Tight End. Mike Bobo better do a great job of having his two Freshmen Quarterbacks funnel the damn football to the TE in two Tight End sets. Orson Charles, Aron White and Arthur Lynch are the 3 best Tight Ends on any one Roster in America.
For instance, take Nancy Patricia D’Alesandro Pelosi (pronounced /pɨˈloʊsi/; born March 26, 1940) who is our Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Before being elected Speaker in the 110th Congress, she was the House Minority Leader from 2003 to 2007, holding the post during the 108th and 109th Congresses.
Since 1987, she has represented the 8th Congressional District of California, which consists of four-fifths of the City and County of San Francisco. The district was numbered as the 5th during Pelosi’s first three terms in the House.
Nancy Pelosi is the first female Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. She is also the first Italian-American and first Californian to serve as Speaker. She is the second Speaker from a state west of the Rocky Mountains, with the first being Washington’s Tom Foley, who was the last Democrat to hold the post before Pelosi. As Speaker of the House, Pelosi is second in the line of presidential succession, following Vice President Joe Biden, which makes her the highest-ranking female politician in American history.
Adding :
Da’Rick Rogers at Wide Receiver is a big boost, after somehow we couldn’t figure out with our brain trust at Wide Receivers’ Coaching how to get Marlon Brown on the field last year. I was very disappointed about that last year, even getting him into a game only 8 of the 13 games, and throwing him a grand total of 2 passes for a grand total of 7 yards. Damn it, this coaching staff has sucked. We give you a player like that, and you get him on the field for 2 throws all season long. Damn it.
On the Offensive Side of the football, we lost nothing.
Obviously, we are in good shape Kicking.
Drew Butler
Blair Walsh
Those are the 2 Best Kickers on 1 team in America.
Assigning the responsibilities of special teams’ coaches will be critical since Coach Richt NEVER DID DO that all last season.
God, I hated Jon Fabris. Although scoffed at today, the phlogiston theory satisfactorily explained most combustion phenomena known at the time of Becher and Stahl. One serious problem was a quantitative issue. Many objects weigh more after being burned than before. How this could happen when phlogiston escaped from the burning material? One possible explanation was that phlogiston had negative weight, an idea that many early chemists thought absurd, while others were willing to consider. In any case, precise measurements had not yet become an important feature of chemical studies, so loss of weight was not an insurmountable barrier to the phlogiston concept.
Todd Grantham needs to be the kick-off coverage special teams coach. Anything other than that, and this will be another long season. We suck at Kick-Off Special Teams.
2 seniors gone and Mike Moore never had the football thrown to him much, anyway. His senior year, Mike Moore only started 5 of the 13 games and had 249 yards. Nice season, but we have better wide receivers, maybe 3 better.
I guess this is where we talk about Quarterbacks.
Aaron Murray, we were told did not practice.
Zach Mettenberger did.
I still don’t like signing 2 QB the same year. Maybe it was good we did this time.
Excuse me, if these guys are not our Starter, we are in big trouble trying to save Mike Bobo from further embarrassment amid constant boos from every fan at Sanford Stadium.
Shaun Chapas
Fred Munzenmaier
2 Best Fullbacks in the nation on 1 team and both NFL capable, and what do we do ?
With no Running Back :
Shaun Chapas we let run for 45 yards and throw him 50 yards.
Fred Munzenmaier we let run for 36 yards and throw him 21 yards.
Mike Bobo this is your last freaking year to get this right with both. God Almighty is all I can say about this sorry Offense.
Running Backs, we haven’t had one since Knowshon Moreno got to play here 2 years and then left because we REDSHIRTED HIM. Crap. What good is signing day? Speaking of signing day,Groundhog Day is an annual holiday celebrated on February 2 in the United States and Canada. According to folklore, if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day fails to see its shadow, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If on the other hand, the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks. The holiday, which began as a Pennsylvania German custom in southeastern and central Pennsylvania in the 18th and 19th centuries, has its origins in ancient European weather lore, wherein a badger or sacred bear is the prognosticator as opposed to a groundhog. The holiday also bears some similarities to the medieval Catholic holiday of Candlemas It also bears similarities to the Pagan festival of Imbolc, the seasonal turning point of the Celtic calendar, which is celebrated on February 1 and also involves weather prognostication.
Ken Malcome from Decatur we better not wait until three-quarters of the 5th game to determine Mike Bobo and Coach Richt have to RIP his damn REDSHIRT OFF, like the Running Backs’ Brain Trust did last year, the season already in a tank and lost, when they in desperation turned to Washaun Ealey who they either were saving for this season, or thought that Caleb King and Richard Samuel just had to be better than what they had shown the previous year for UGA – which was NOT a damn thing. Ken Malcome has good speed and good size, but he isn’t particularly determined to be much more than about the 25th best running back in this year’s recruiting class.
For a Woebegone Offense of Coach Richt and now also of Mike Bobo, every year, this is particularly disturbing that Rodney Garner could not get us another really great Tailback. I will root on Washaun Ealey and Ken Malcome and hope that Carlton Thomas can get in there with Branden Smith and move the ball, but damn it, our Offense sucks and it is because of the LACK OF PRODUCTION at running backs, mostly because all we do is fling the ball down the field unless it is 3rd down in which case, of course, you obviously always run the damn football. Don’t hand me that injury crap either! Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), also known as electroshock, is a well-established, albeit controversial, psychiatric treatment in which seizures are electrically induced in anesthetized patients for therapeutic effect. Today, ECT is most often used as a treatment for severe major depression which has not responded to other treatment, and is also used in the treatment of mania (often in bipolar disorder), catatonia and schizophrenia. It was first introduced in the 1930s and gained widespread use as a form of treatment in the 1940s and 1950s; today, an estimated 1 million people worldwide receive ECT every year, usually in a course of 6–12 treatments administered 2 or 3 times a week. Electroconvulsive therapy can differ in its application in three ways: electrode placement, length of time that the stimulus is given, and the property of the stimulus. The variance of these three forms of application have significant differences in both adverse side effects and positive outcomes. After treatment, drug therapy can be continued, and some patients receive continuation/maintenance ECT. Informed consent is a standard of modern electroconvulsive therapy. Involuntary treatment is uncommon in countries that follow contemporary standards and is typically only used when the use of ECT is believed to be potentially life saving.
God Almighty. Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.
Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.
Did I mention we have AJ Green. That’s all we’ve friging got.
OFFENSIVE COACHING STAFF, kept. Everyone of the underachieving out of position, NO NFL COACHING EXPERIENCE, lousy Offensive Coaches, kept. Jeez Louise, what do they have to do to LOSE THEIR JOBS ?
OL, what a group of under-performers frankly the entire 9-year history of Coach Richt at
17-19 vs Final AP Poll Top 25 teams plus 8 more losses to UNRANKED teams. So, in review, I don’t really give a rats butt anymore about what the nay sayers say. The 3-4 or ‘Hybrid” 3-4 WILL work.

A key part will be assessing the tallent we have. Martinez did a very poor job of this and as a result we did not have the right mix of players on the field.
Granthem will make a huge difference in assessing and teaching/ coaching the players how to play defense.
I believe we will also see a huge improvement in scheme adjustments during the game. Martinez struggled to do so, resulting in the score being out of control.
A lot of talk on here about Bobo and his play calling. If you look back we have scored enough points to win all of our games. We just have not stopped the other teams offense from scoring. The only thing Bobo does that I do not care for would be the high number of short passes on the outside and not making more plays down field. Other than that he has done a good job.

So your comments are unjust. Plus all of you on here that say Grantham is a horrible coach after this game, he was the D Line coach not D Cordinator. This means he coaches the D Line, not the linebackers or the secondary. Oh to the people who don’t understand football. Defensive secondary are the Cornerbacks and Safties. Farve was sacked 3 times and Dallas’s d help AP to 63 yds at 2.4 yds per carry. Not to bad in my book.

Yes, they had a bad game, but it happens. Overall, their D was great throughout the year.Grantham has worked under some great defensive minds. Saban was probably going to go get him if Kirby left, so he is well respected by great defensive minds. Good God you’re beyond an idiot. The defense played well, considering Playoff Romo coughed up the ball at every opportunity, and the OLine couldn’t block my grandmother.
Also, we beat your sorry team with Martinez, and we’ll beat them without him. 30-24, 8-1, choke on it.

Ya, if Travis comes that is probably where he will be. CRG will be the D-Line coach I am sure. I am ok with that, because I really do not want him on special teams. Special teams needs improvement, and I dont the CRG is the man for it. His lines have been way too undisciplined for him to take over something bigger.

I was excited to watch the Dallas defensive line today. Constant pressure and 3 sacks on Favre and held the best running back (A.P.)in the league to less than 70 yards. We have much to be excited about. Simeon Rice made some first class catches against excellent coverage. Favre is the only QB who can throw against his body and complete passes on a regular basis. Dallas got beat because ROMO is overrated and is foolish with the football. They played a rested Vikings club and the O-line got whipped, plain and simple. GO DAWGS! The Vols just gained some much needed class with the Derek Dooley hire!

Guys I am almost willing to bet my pay check that TJ will come home to fill out a very nice defensive coaching unit. I know TJ and his family personally, and I know that they have a deep love for UGA. I would like to see CMR and TG pull the trigger on the UCONN secondary coach, as I believe the entire UCONN staff are very effective coaches.
Lastly, I am baffled as to why CMR and DE were willing to pay KS the kind of money that was offered. KS is the epitomy of unproven coordinators. I truly believe that KS would have been an emotional hire by CMR only to appease a fanbase that was upset and anxious. I guarantee you Bama will not come close next year to matching this years defensive results.
As for CMB, please have patience with this guy. He has tutored under one of the best offensive minds in the business, and there is no doubt that he is coming into his own. Remember, he was unable to open the entire playbook in ‘09, due to his starting quarterback’s limitations. Also, losing a QB, RB, and WR in the first 2 rounds was devastating to our offense, not to mention the loss of our best lineman at the beginning of the season. Guys, Bobo can coach, and there is no doubt that his offenses will be putting up play station type numbers in the coming years. We need our recruiters to focus their efforts on lineman for both sides of the ball. Go get em guys. UGA will be contending for a national title in 2011.

welcome—- he can at least go to feel the guy out, he’s in Texas… I haven’t seen to much pub about pulling the guy but remember stafford was from texas and this would be a coach that just came from a NFL playoff game coming straight to your crib…… would you give it some deepper thought???? At least you would have a foundation cause this kid seems totally undesided and maybe waiting on something like this to happen… then for sure get on that jet and head to the other 2 monsters and seal those deals too; then you can go back to Jeffcoat and let him know how stout the players around him are….. just a thought but an aggressive coach is also an aggressive recruiter; there is still nice talent there lets go get whats ours!

By the way, WTF Keith Brooking!!!! What has gotten in to the best player to come out of TECH in years. He must’ve been with RAY LEWIS’ posse when that po’ fool got dead a few years back. Enough already with the “HEY, Look at me chant and huddle” before the games. TAUNTING the Vikings sidelines for running up the score? I’d be cussing ROMO because your offense can’t get across the fifty and you have to defend a short field. Very unbecoming!

32258 DAWG- I am fine with that man. Trust me, if we can get him I am all for it. I was just stating I think Whitaker is more realistic. Also, Jeffcoat might have respect for Grantham since he is a Texas boy. I am definitely with you though. haha.
G-DAWG- I am with you too. Yes Bobo has some questionable calls, but Georgia averages a lot of points. If we can just get some discipline and work on the turnovers then we will be ok. Bobo is definitely improving though. Just go look at the points we have put up. Just wish we could be more consistent with it. Lets not forget the offensive mind he is working for. He’s not too shabby.

I am a lifelong Tech fan and being a very talented engineer that is rich beyond any of your imaginations I am uniquely capable of seeing the big picture where others can’t. There is no significance whatsoever to the loss to UGA and Iowa. It means nothing that our overpowering offense has scored 10 points in 2 bowl games. What GT fans have to focus on is the monumental achievement of finishing #13 in the nation. #13 guys. Do you realize how big that is. More enlightening is the fact that after losing 2 out of our last 3 games we STILL finished #13. A lessor team would have dropped to at least #20, which in itself proves that GT is a giant in the minds of those that rank football teams.

I agree BOBO can Coach. he has never had a problem putting up points until he didnt have a QB, and RB that were up to speed. but then again its hard for the Defense to be good when you kick it out of bounds or give up 60 yard+ returns. but also if the defense is giving up so many points its hard for any team to maintain running the ball and not being 1 dementional.
Anyone know teams that have horrible Defenses and ST’s but are successful on Offense you let me know??? I’m waiting; Until then I say BOBO is good!

Although I don’t always agree with bobo, I think he has done a pretty good job. Stafford and moreno two years ago lead what was the best offense I had seen at UGA in a while. This year I think he had his hands tied with cox. For the people talking about the passing calls by UGA, it seemed like they were either in the flats or 20+ yards down the field. I think alot of that was because of cox, the first type is an easy completion, the second if thrown correctly should be a catch or incompletion with less of a chance of ints (and cox was good at throwing ints).
I’m a firm believer that the offense needs to stay on the field as long as possible to get into a rhythm. With willie’s patented “bend then break” defense, the offense didn’t get to stay on the field that much.

Tech is to UGA, as UGA is to Florida. A step behind, with the hope of moving ahead.
While we are concerned with the affairs of UGA. Florida is steam rolling the talent in. They may be putting together the most talented class of recruits that I have ever seen a school put together.
UGA will have to beat Florida with “fewer” numbers of talented players. The big difference here, is that the Florida’s and Alabama’s, will have let’s say 5 to 6 players on both sides of ball waiting to advance to the league, where UGA has fallen back to 2 to 3 players.
Solution: Win with less talent. UGA needs to run the SEC and win the SEC. You have to beat the best to get respect. I don’t believe many recruit’s believe that UGA can beat Florida or Alabama.
**I do believe that Mark Richt would be better off calling plays than Bobo. That is how he got the UGA job, it may very well help him keep it. Bobo is not as talented as Richt at play calling, period.

To all that are talking about Dallas losing today, it was the offense that lost the game. The defense didn’t play that bad, just like our first half of the season, offense turning the ball over deep in our on end. So the outcome of todays game doesn’t mean nothing to me except that CTG will get to work recruiting some boys that will kick little Techies arshes sooner.

Cowboys game today: Obviously not many of you watched the same game. The cowboy’s D was not the issue, turnovers and lack of offensive production was, period.
My only concern is the same for the dawgs. The past two years lack of offensive production has put the defense in predicaments.
Maybe, the defense will step-up and Richt will assist Bobo in calling the plays.

I am GT through and through, but I’m not sold of this triple option offense and question some of the play calling….You’re crazier than Scultzie and Bark Maddley….Our triple option offense jumped the tracks against Georgia and Iowa, Pugnacious Paul couldn’t finish the drill, extremely poor offensive numbers for the 4 and 5 star talent in that backfield……. could only beat a weak Clempson team to claim a chumpionship, and had to make a final desperation drive to beat the tiggers….You gotta admit that was not a very exciting way to win any kind of championship, beating the clempson tiggers….When the game was on the line against Georgia, Pugnacious Paul went to chunkin it down the field, when Cleotis and all us injuneers working late in the robotics lab thought ole Paul was gonna run the triple option down the field, run out the clock, and win the game….that 4-3 defense ole Wiley Willie Martinez sprung on Pugnacious Paul got inside his considerably big head, and he unexpectedly went to chunkin it, it went off BAYBAYS hands, and the rest is history….It might be the only chance we guys will ever have to win 2 in a row against the damn Bullydogs….why the hell did we start chunkin it? And Bark says this guy in a play calling genius….

Can we ever say that some teams are just better (Minnesota Vikings)? There is nothing you can do that is going to beat them when they are on their A game? As for the touchdown at the end of the game, what were they suppose to do? Why don’t we have a rule if the game is beyond reach to win, we can just end the game early? How stupid! Dallas should have stopped them. They would try to score if they had the ball last. Should Minnesota have complained that the game was already over and that Dallas was trying to make the score look respectable?

30-24. Georgia’s worst team in recent memory beat Tech’s best. I like that. As far as Grantham and Dallas are concerned — Dallas d played pretty good. Three turnovers by the Dallas offense plus a couple of missed field goals make things tough on any defense. Romo was also sacked six times too. Dallas’ defense played good enough to keep them in the game — they received no help from the offense.
30-24.

Geeez, sounds likes like a Richt guy already. Richt is the only coach I’ve ever seen that would literally sit on the ball for a quarter and a half with a 14 point lead. So obviously Todd would think what they Vikings did was bad. I can understand his point of view at the college level, but in the NFL those guys are getting paid millions to play a little kids game. I have no sympathy for the Cowboys. I don’t really recall them showing mercy on the Falcons now that I think about it….

With his lack of experience as a DC…we will still have growing pains next year. But thanks to Kiffin leaving we should win 9 or 10 games next year simply on the basis of our weak schedule. We play nobody out of conference (Colorado is the only BCS school other than Tech) and we do not play LSU or Alabama. Cupcake city baby!!! This should help us heal our wounds from the past couple of seasons but we will probably be overranked by the end of the year since we will have lots of wins but against a fairly weak schedule. Only potential roadblocks to 10+ win season is South Carolina.

As Pants on the Ground says, “Grantham is a Big Mistake for UGA”. What will he do when Paul Johnson’s triple option puts up 500+ total yards and 50 pts. on his defense this November? Grantham could be the final nail in Mark Richt’s coffin. The only possible saving grace is the weakest schedule in the south. Other than GT, who do they play? Nobody, absolutely nobody.

one of you idiots said “I will be watching Dallas today, will be interesting to see that scheme and how well it works for Dallas. Looks like that is what you are going to see teams in the SEC switching to in the next few years”. I wouldn’t want that scheme coming to UGA after a 34 point lashing from the Vikings but I guess that is expected at UGA defense allowing 34 points.

All these haters on here are just scared UGA finally made some big moves on the Defensive side of the ball as far as coaches go, Kids are loving the idea of a 3-4 defense especially linebackers, plus grantham was a NFL coordinator so he knows what it takes….big recruiting tool there.
