So how long had it been since Georgia ended the season unranked in either the Associated Press or coaches’ final poll, as happened today?
The last time it happened was . . . 1996.
This season, victories over Georgia Tech in the regular-season finale and Texas A&M in the Independence Bowl did not catapult the Dogs into the Top 25 of the final AP or coaches’ polls, which were released this morning.
The last time Georgia was unranked in either final poll was Jim Donnan’s first season as coach, when the Dogs went 5-6 in ‘96.
Since then, Georgia had been ranked in the final AP poll every year and in the final coaches’ poll every year except one (the exception being 2006, when the Dogs were unranked in the final coaches’ poll but 23rd in the final AP poll).
Before this season, Georgia had been ranked in the top 10 of the final coaches’ poll six of the previous seven seasons.
In today’s rankings, the Dogs were in the “also receiving votes” category of both polls. They received seven points in the AP balloting, ranking 33rd, and 13 points in the coaches’ poll, ranking 32nd. Georgia finished the season with an 8-5 record.

All that trash talk and you are still unranked! Here my team sits at #13, well above anything U-G-A. Get ready for a thumping next year at the hands of CPJ and Mr. Nesbitt. Probably something like ((((45-42))). Oh wait….that already happened. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Let’s go by the record. UGA has 2 National Championships and 12 SEC Championships. Last National Championship was 1980……………….30 years ago. WEAK.
AUBARN…………………………1 National Championship in 1957 and 6 SEC Championships………VERY WEAK.
Alabama……………………8 actual AP/BCS National Championships and 12 SEC Championships.
WOW……………………………..BAMA has more Titles and SEC Championships than the both you combined. That is hilarious.
As you may have noticed. Georgia Tech does not enter any discussion concerning football and the weak ACC. Beat down of Clemson and VA. TECH by the Tide……………………..YES SIR !!!!!!!

UGA didn’t deserve to be ranked in the final polls. We were probably a 9-4 or 10-3 football team if our QB didn’t turn the ball over so much. He did so that is that.
We need to be excited about 10 returning starters on offense, a new DC that will teach fundamentals and can attack. Hope Richt can hire one!
The schedule in 2010 is really interesting.
Must beat SOS again at the coop
Must beat Arkiesaw at home
Must go on the road and win in cowbell land
Must beat UT at home(I hope Richt has this one circled)
Must beat Colorado on the road
Must beat UK and Auburn away
Must beat florida
Must beat Tech in Athens
With a new QB who will be a redshirt freshman, the road games will be the toughest.

It’s amazing how the polls don’t count to Dawg fans when UGA is not on the list. Apparently GT getting beat by UGA didn’t matter as much to the pollsters as Dawg fans would like to believe.

ESPN is flat out biased.
SEC is 6-0 in BCS. Crushes any other conference.
8-5 SEC teams should be ranked higher than ACC 11-2 teams.
For example, Georgia beat Tech.
What a joke.

UNRANKED! So what? Rankings goes to our guys heads anyway. Goodbye CWM! Looks like CMR is having serious trouble attracting a top DC to UGA. No mystery there. Guess CMR will have to keep CMB and some others or he might have to replace the whole coaching stafff. Lets all look to the skies and pray that some top flite DC will come our way! Here is my suggestion to CMR, “GET YOUR ARSE IN GEAR”.

Didn’t ESPN put out the FALSE rumors Richt was hiring Foster, Koenning and Chavis?
They don’t report objectively when it comes to Georgia.

Kirk Herbstreit probably called his last BCS game. One of the worst calls I’ve heard. He didn’t even speak most of the time. Herbstriet didn’t offer a single insightful analysis. Too Texas biased, few pro SEC comments. Kirk loved it when Texas started “shutting down Bama”, huh? Bama started running out the clock because Texas stunk. Once Texas made it close, Bama turned up the offense again, brought Ingram back in, finished them off with a 16 point victory at will, with a QB with cracked ribs and a back who had pulled muscles. McElroy played with cracked ribs, McCoy sat it out. What a joke.
ESPN even reported, during the game, Kirby Smart was to be interviewed by Texas Tech, which Texas Tech denied. Talk about anti-Georgia agenda.

This is what you can come to expet when you let thugs dance on the sidelines and in the middle of games, when you let players run around and destroy things at hospitals in Athens, when players get to know the Dupties at the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff’s office, when yo let players who get DUI’s continue on the team without any real reprocutions.
Get use to it UGA fans, I Mark Richt have brainwashed you into believing that 8-9 wins a season with an SEC Championship every 5 years is a good thing. Thanks I will continue taking this program to the heights of the middle of the pack in the SEC..

On the defensive side … no DC worth a $hiz is going to want the job at the joke, even if it is Al Groh.

Has ANY team ranked preseason #1 during the previous year EVER not been
in the top 25 the following year ? Has this ever happened ? How could this happen ? UGA hits new low. Will the SEC allow this team to remain in the conf ? What an embarrassment to the SEC and the state of GA. Please remove the name Georgia from all UGA jerseys and become known as just dawgs.
Richt has Natl Champ Year 7 Times
January 8th, 2010

Afte getting FSU to the Natl Champ 5 times as FSU’s OC (0 after Richt left FSU), and seeing 2002 & 2007, and seeing Richt’s 90 SEC wins in 9 season (1 of 7 coaches in history to get 90 wins in 9 years in ANY conference, much less the SEC), what idiot would possibly be biased against Mark Richt on anything objective? What a joke, ESPN is for clowns. They’ve lost their objectivity.

We cannot continue to have the name Georgia associated with this band of blowhards. The state legislature must seek some form of banishment.
The Tech president has got to meet with the govenor and decide how this state can disclaim this failed organization known as UGA football. My lord, the Falcons in their history never sunk so low.

Well we can start to write the history books now. When a team gets this low its over. UGA football is now history forever. A big splash
in 1980 and then a dropping rock after that. Rather sad. No wonder the state decided to place its second team (after Tech) at GA State. Someone was thinking.

Funny thing is, gatorguy, with all that recent domination over the past twenty years, UGA still owns the win-loss record by what? Roughly ten games? If you’re going to talk about 15-20 years ago, let’s just go back to 1892 and work our way forward.
Good luck starting 2010, it’s going to be a rough, rough ride for you from here on out.

The 2009 season is over and done with and is now irrelevant. 2010 is the only thing that matters. Richt needs to hire a def. coord. and not dilly-dally about it. If Smart isn’t interested, then forget about him. Hell, hire the kid from Tenn. Tech. So what if he’s young. If he’s got a brain and can motivate, give him a shot. Brains make up for a lot. He won’t cost Adams a million $$$ and there ain’t no where to go but up from Willie anyway. No matter whom he hires, if the guy doesn’t pan out, Richt is a gonner within two years at most. If Richt would have canned Willie after 2008 like he should have, all this mess would be resolved by now. Richt has no one to blame but himself.

ESPN Out of Touch with Fan Base
January 8th, 2010
2:18 pm
ESPN is out of touch with their fan base.
Want to see proof?
Compare these 2 rankings, one influenced by ESPN’s biased reportings (AP Poll), the other by fans only.
In one Georgia DOESN’T EVEN MAKE THE TOP 25.
SEC teams are ranked low or unranked.
In the fan poll, Georgia is #14. SEC teams are ranked very high.
ESPN better be careful, if they lose their Georgia fan base, and lose touch with the SEC fan base, their college football ratings could reach an all-time low.
