Green, Rambo back for Tech? Richt ‘hopeful’
Mark Richt seemed somewhat encouraged Sunday that wide receiver A.J. Green and safety Bacarri Rambo, both of whom missed the Kentucky game, might be able to play against Georgia Tech on Saturday.
“They’re getting there,” Richt said. “I’d say we’re pretty hopeful on both of them. I wouldn’t say either of them is a slam dunk right now, but hopefully by maybe Tuesday, we’ll have a real good feel.”
Green sprained a joint in his left shoulder and Rambo suffered a concussion, both in the Nov. 14 victory over Auburn.

It all started saturday after the half when the booth played a hanna montana during the break as loud as they could. FUMBLE on the next play. How do you expect these guy to get fired up when you are playing stuff for high school girls. Fire the guy in the booth! (as well as the special teams coaches and Bobo and Martinez.

I read an article on here where it said AJ Green is out indefinently, why would your coach risk ruining the career for one game, smells like the Sam Bradford situation for me, and we know how that turned out. The game this weekend makes me nervous, because its a rivalry game, this could possibly be UGAs bowl game, etc. We’ll see, I for one will be in section 228 for the game cheering the Jackets on, no matter the outcome!!!

MR is a true Christian man. THAT FACT drives how he gets up in the morning, how he relates to other people, how he coaches and how he treats his fellow Christian missionary type of assistants. They ( missionaries ) are not what UGA needs. We need men that have these same values BUT they ALSO understand the hard facts of life in the SEC. This gig is not sunday school, folks.
There is a very, very fine line in what I am describing here. I too am a Christian …………however, I believe that The Lord helps those that help themselves. In other words, Richt has not recruited what he needed end to end, nor hired the caliber of supporting coaches to do the requisite SEC level of coaching,etc. Yes, we landed a selfish Texas kid in Matt Stafford, who never related to anyone on that team but Jumpin Joe Cox, whole at golf land. We got a NJ careless No SHow ……….and that is that.
Where are the hungry kids that want to win? RICH BROOKS of Ky has won 2 of the last 4 KY/UGA games. See? We are at that lower echelon level now but HE does it with tough, smart coaches and he knows how to motivate and how to coach. Richt cannot. Brooks would be a far better UGA coach than Richt.HIS corner backs were far supefrior than UGA’s and they WERE FROM GEORGIA!!!
Fire Richt and hire Rich Brooks. In 1977, I sat in Sanford Stadium with a new coach coming in with his Oregon team and they w re 25 point underdogs ………….UGA won but like 24-18 and Oregon’s coach, Rich Brooks out coached Vince Dooley that day and everyone knew it.
Hire Brooks and with OUR talent base in Georgia, we could win it all within two years. He is a coach and has demonstrated it for 32 years in my mind.

My pastor, who is a big bulldog fan, told me when season started that UGA would be 6-6. I thought that UGA would win 9 games because of CMR. He is going to have to change both offense and defense coaches if UGA is going to keep up with rest of the SEC.
Coach Johnson is the best game day coach in nation and hope he finish his career at GT. So we can have the glory day a head of us. He knows what all the great coaches knew that you win by running the ball and with defense. Its simple but it works. Go jackets and beat the dawgs!! Sorry A.J. but you are on the wrong team saturday!!

Someone posted that Chris Hatcher needs to be the next OC at UGA.Really? Anyone see what happened to GA.Southern after he took over? He never called his own plays at VSU,he had one hell of an OC named David Dean.Dean took over for him as the head coach and won a D2 National Championship,he was named NCAA Division II Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association, Schutt Sports/American Football Weekly and the Touchdown Club of Atlanta. Dean made an immediate impact on the Blazer football squad during his initial season in Valdosta in 2000 as VSU led the nation in both total offense, at 502.4 yards per game, and in passing offense (377.9) while finishing third in scoring offense, scoring 45.5 points per game.This is who should be considered for the next OC.

Why don’t we just charter Georgia Christian University (ala TCU), let Richt take over as inaugural coach taking his disciples with him obviously and all you Bible thumpers who support him so much beacause he’s “a good Christian man” with no killer instict can go with him too. We’ll get one who wants to win at all costs and won’t weigh the well-being of 8 people and their families against thewell-being of the millions in the Bulldog Nation.

The only way Willie ever sees a blitz is when he’s blitzed after 8 martinis. He kept his safeties 25 yards back on nearly every play against Kentucky, who has a bad quarterback and runs most of the time. Willie Martini is INCOMPETENT!!!!
And is it true that Richt himself coached the special teams? WOW! Talk about incompetent!

UGA has gotten almost as bad as Georgia Tech in changing their uniforms. It looks like they’ve swicthed their traditional roles. Georgia Tech has traditionally been the pansies that changed uniforms nearly every game but Richt is changing all of that.

I agree with just about everything you said( minus the hiring Rich Brooks part, since he’ll be retiring soon). I think Mark Richt has other priotities besides football. Winning a National Title has never been the ” Be all end all” for Richt. Developing players to be great young men is what Richt is all about. But his program has gotten to the point where fans expect National Titles. The SEC titles are fine, but it’s awful tough to stomach seeing Florida, LSU and Alabama position themselves for National Titles when while our program is in decline.
I hate to say this, but I think Mark Richt is done. This problem is bigger than firing Willie. It’s the whole culture! This team used to scratch and claw and run through a wall for Mark Richt because they believed in him as a leader, and they believed in the values he extolled. But not anymore. I’m not sure what has happened along the way, but this team has a losing culture! The defense is straight up quitting on Richt and Willie. At one point in last week’s game, the Kentucky player actually walked into the endzone. When that happens, the players are showing their coach that they don’t care. The offense tries, but they’re just not very good, especially with AJ being hurt. I look at Mark Richt on the sideline and he just looks like a man who is desperate, looking for something: ANYTHING, to motivate his players(i.e Black Jerseys etc.). And nothing is working! These players are just not buying in. I’m saying it right now, next season will be Richt’s last year, especially if they go 6-6 and a lose to Tech again. I think being the class guy he is, UGA will give him a send off similar to Fulmer’s, but we’ll be in the market for another coach by 2011. I think SEC football has gone into a big business/marketing mentality similar to the NFL, and to be successful you almost have to sacrifice your values (ala Lane Kiffin/Nick Saban). And I just don’t think Richt wants to sacrifice his values for a National Title. I think Richt has lost the love and passion for the game, I really do. And it’s so sad to watch. It’s time for him to move on. He can make a difference in young people’s lives in other ways. Richt has done the best he can do and he’s conducted himself in an honorable way. It’s time to give someone else a shot.

Bulldawg really dissected our team. Sure is sobering fellow Dawgs fans isnt it ? This has been going on since late 2005. 2007 season was Fools Gold. Yep sorry, I know it makes some of you very upset for me to write that but go back and carefully look. Style points unfortunately do count folks. Is it really that CMR doesnt try or is it really he just cant simply do it? We need MAJOR changes…

Hopefully Coach Richt will start Aaron Murray instead of Logan Gray. No offense to Gray but he is more of a spread kind of guy and Murray is more of a Pro-Style guy. I could see us being 10-2 and at worst 9-3. If anybody has seen our schedule they would agree! It is a cupcake schedule!

Bobo is doing a decent job. He put 27 points on the score board, Willie allowed 30 pts. MR needs to man up and sit Joe Cox this week and give Logan a chance….i mean he does have 4.5 speed. But the BIG problem is our defensive play calling…Willie Martinez still thinks as a defensive back…”dont get beat long”. We need to bring the heat and put pressure on the GT line and backfield as the U did. Willie needs to be gone after this season. Although its a long shot, we should try and get Muschamp from Texas. He played at UGA and married a woman from GA.

Everybody should lay off coach Richt yeah we are having a bad season. Its not all his fault. I do think playing Cox was a big mistake because now we have to worry about another rough year next year playing a freshman. I mean lets be honest Logan just doesnt have what it takes. Muarry is obviously our QB of the future he shoul have been playing three games ago and then he would have had those three kentucky tech and a bowl to be ready for spring but now more frowing pains for the fans. MARTINEZ MUST GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I understand loyalty but what has it gotten us this year but losses? I love coach Richt and hope hes here for many years but he has to make drastic changes! Just one DAWG fans opinon.
