Hello from SEC Media Days; Gators in FSN South opener

Hoover, Ala. – First morsels from SEC Media Days, which officially get underway in a few minutes:

  – Atlanta-based FSN South, which will televise seven SEC football games this year under a deal with ESPN, gets these games the first three weeks: Charleston Southern at Florida on Sept. 5, Mississippi State at Auburn on Sept. 12 and Mississippi State at Vanderbilt on Sept. 19.  All air at 7 p.m.  Just ran into Bob Rathbun, the Hawks voice who will call play-by-play on the FSN games, and he’s excited about adding the seven football games to his workload.

– Peachtree TV (WPCH), which will be the Atlanta home for a package of SEC noon football games  being syndicated under the brand of “SEC Network,” gets these games the first three weeks: Western Kentucky at Tennessee on Sept. 5, Troy at Florida on Sept. 12 and North Texas at Alabama on Sept. 19. Veteran SEC announcer Dave Neal will call play-by-play on the syndicated games.

  –  And just to reiterate if you’ve lost track: Georgia’s Sept. 5 opener at Oklahoma State will be on ABC (3:30 p.m.), Sept. 12 home opener vs. South Carolina on ESPN2 (7 p.m.) and Sept. 19 game at Arkansas on ESPN or ESPN2 (7:45 p.m.).

   — Beyond the first three weeks, games times and networks generally will be set 12 or six days in advance.

saintsimons, that is such an original post, damn near cried laughing so hard. Did you make that up all by your little self. You sir, and your feeble attempt at humor? are simply obnoxious. Now understand, I don’t have a vote in the matter, but if I did I would block your incessant drivel until you could come up with something (or anything) of value to add to any conversation you so obviously aspire to be a part of…………good day to you

Saint Simons, give it up man. You are a disgrace to Tech and to humanity in general.

I hate giving St.Simmons the time of day as all it does is feed the troll, but you have to laugh when thinking about how he sits and waits on this website for anything about UGA to be posted so that he can be the first one to comments on the blog “45-42 HAHAHA”. It’s funny, and sad at the same time. Get outside and do something. Try playing the sport that you “blog” about so much. I guess he just sits there and hits refresh on his browser over and over waiting. Anything has got to be better than that life. Good grief.

It looks like we’re heading for the days when SEC practices will eventually be broadcast too. Florida v. Charleston Southern? Good lord. I love SEC football as much as the next guy but geez. I might have it on in the background if I’m trying to take a nap or something.

Yeah watching UF play Charleston Southern? I’d watch it right now bc I’m so starved for football, but that’s just plain pathetic.

How about a gator reality show? This is going to get a lot more sickening before it gets better. All it would take is for two SEC teams to beat them and we can return to normalcy.

Over exposure is the bubonic palgue of the 21st century.I love football as much as the next guy, but do not want to watch Chas Sou or Tn Tech. There has to be a game between two decent teams somewhere that day. The 12 game schedule, money and tv have created this debacle. I cannot imagine the cry that would come out of Gainesville if Spikes got hurt and was lost for the season (anyone remember Jeff Owens?).

Ali Akbar Allah,

The only thing you own is the slurpy machine in your daddy’s BP!

Why don’t you ride off on your magic carpet back to the middle east and leave the college football to people who actually understand how the game is played.

Allah is no God. He was made up by Mohammad to give him an excuse to have 23 wives and blow up buildings!

I’m a ramblin wreck from terrorist tech and a hell of an infidel!

Tech got out of the SEC because they couldn’t consistently win there. Ole Bobby tucked his tail and RAN.

I’m a dyed in the wool Tech fan, and I don’t usually go on UGA blogs, but this St. Simons guy is an embarassment! It is interesting to know what is going on with the despised bulldawg nation, but I see no need to commnet in such an insipid fashion. Me, I like to keep an eye on the traffic, so that when “clean old fashioned hate” arrives, I am informed. And hopefully, come this November, I can once again sit back with a satisfied smile. No need to rub it in (ask my staff – they call me gracious either way) – the knowledge alone is enough.
