Charity Race for Inventors at the Miami Science Museum

Calling all inventors. Yeah, you Einstein, we need your expertise. The Miami Science Museum is hosting a charity race called the Patently Impossible Project on Nov. 1, 2012.

Here's how it works: You get together members of the Miami legal and business community in one room. You give them cocktails provided by Grey Goose and Heineken. Each participant gets various tools and parts to tinker with. And get this – the only instructions are on a patent registration form. Say what? Yeah, the lawyers had to make it complicated. Then the participants feverishly race to assemble a patented invention. First one to make it happen wins. Sounds entertaining, doesn't it?

What are you waiting for? Sign up. At the very least, come watch the action from the sidelines, cheer on your colleagues and "bet" on your favorite contestant by purchasing raffle tickets. After the competition, everybody hangs out, has a drink or two and chows down on free appetizers. The evening ends with a silent auction and proceeds benefit Dade Legal Aid, a non-profit law firm that provides free legal services to low-income residents of Miami-Dade County.

When: Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Where: Miami Science Museum

Hosted by: The Intellectual Property Committee of the Dade County Bar Association. RSVP to Committee Chair, Jaime Rich Vining at or (305) 777-1720.

New Season of Kourtney and Kim Take Miami Announced

According to a spokesperson from E! the new season of Kourtney and Kim Take Miami started filming this week. The series will air in January. You know what that means? The Kardashians are back in South Florida!

In the season finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloe said that DASH Miami may need to be relocated to a more prominent address. It is currently located on Washington Ave in South Beach. Hmmmm I wonder where they might move the store…Village of Merrick Park, the Design District, Lincoln Road, maybe a more central location on Collins Avenue?? We'll just have to wait and see.

During the first "Kardashian" spin-off in Miami, Khloe and Kourtney stayed in swanky hotels during their stay. But, according to, this time around Kourt — a mother of 2 — decided she wants to be in a really big house.

The front-runner is a $5.8-million-dollar Mediterranean style Miami mansion with six bedrooms, over 5,000 square feet, a pool, and an attached dock with room for a 100' boat.

Keep that smart phone handy, so that when you run into one of the Ks in Miami you can snap a pic and post it on my VISIT FLORIDA Facebook page
