The United Way Miami Wine & Food Festival kicked off their year-long season in style on the infamous Miracle Mile. Guests sampled wines and strolled along the beautiful tree-lined Coral Gables street, stopping at boutiques along the way.
We started the Wine Walk & Shop event at Seasons 52 in Coral Gables. Festival director, Lyn Farmer, poured me a glass of a refreshing Honig Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley. It was the perfect for a hot summer evening.
We tried another delightful white wine from Argentina and enjoyed browsing through the very chic Hip E Boutique. They had a gorgeous selection of maxi dresses that I was dying to try on. I will definitely have to go back for a shopping trip soon. Shopping Insider, Jeanette Scott, would have loved checking out this adorable boutique!
The last stop on the on the Miracle Mile tasting event was at Jeffrey Wolfe's Wine Shoppe, where I sampled a glass of Medici Ermete "Concerto" Lambrusca, a sparkling red from Italy. I had never tried a sparkling red wine before, but it proved to be crisp and surprisingly good.
The United Way Miami Wine & Food Festival hosts several events throughout the year, but it's premier event is a four day festival in April that brings together amazing wine, top sommeliers and celebrity chefs all to benefit a great cause. Check back soon for the 2013 festival dates.
