Stimulus good for sign painters

Thinking Right’s weekend free-for-all. Pick a topic:

The federal “stimulus” program has been good for sign painters. Every project connected with it has a sign informing us that it was made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Surely the six Marietta police officers to be hired with the money will wear shirts identifying them as gifts of the Obama Administration. No? Wait until election year.

Progress is noted in Fulton County. Juries now give death sentences to some of those who deserve it. For 25 years murders who deserved capital punishment could count on a free pass. What’s changed? Juries identify with the victims.

Opponents of single-payer government-run health care have the month of August to convince Congress and the Obama Administration that there’ll be a high political price to pay for their radicalism. That’s why Saturday’s Centennial Olympic Park protest, which runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and those that confront politicians likely to support the health care cram-down are so important. Swastikas and other such symbols, whether painted by those who oppose the cram-down or those who wish to portray opponents as extremists, are distractions.

Politicians lack the discipline to do it, but there’s merit in having a rainy-day fund that allows state and local governments to fund needed road improvements, building maintenance and other projects during economic downturns when bargains are available. Eighty-six just-bid DOT projects expected to cost $341 million came in at $213.8 million. The Cobb Board of Education demonstrates the problem with having a pot of money. It spent cash reserves to avoid furloughing employees.

Alaska legislators override former Gov. Sarah Palin’s rejection of $28 million in “stimulus” money. Politicians. No discipline, no principle when it comes to “free” money. Dangle money and politicians will perform any dance to any tune.

No. No. No. Not to worry. The House health care bill doesn’t “include provisions to encourage senior citizens to commit suicide,” the Los Angeles Times soothingly reassures. It gives those on Medicare an option to sit with a physician every five years and plan for the end of life. That provision, it’s noted, “is endorsed by the AARP,” an interest group that favors the Democratic agenda.

The South Georgia man who didn’t cause the pregnancy that resulted in the birth of a child won’t have to pay $10,000 in assessed child support. Women who get public assistance or seek child support from men who aren’t their husbands should be required to submit the names of possible offenders. Each of those named would be required to submit to DNA testing. Women who can’t or won’t identify the real offender should be liable to the state for rei bursement. No innocent should pay a dime.

Schools that are working “green” into the curriculm could just as easily choose any other real or presumed virtue. Try “thrift” or “marriage” or “patriotism” or any other non-academic propaganda that will produce better, more responsible citizens a quarter century from now.

Oldsters are needed to translate a foreign language spoken by Emory benefactor Grace Crum Rollins who with her late husband, O. Wayne Rollins, gave substantially to the university’s public health school, most recently $50 million in 2007. Mrs. Rollins, who died this week at 98, once said they’d started without “enough money to buy a used breakfast set.” Then she added this peculiar foreign-language sentence: “And of course we never bought anything on credit.” Translation, please. Isn’t the object of life to max out the credit cards and to use homes as ATMs ?

Ask a partisan Democrat whether President Obama’s assertion that “we’ve rescued our economy from catastrophe” is true and you’re likely to get the response we got from Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond: Yes. I’m with economics Professor Dwight R. Lee of Southern Methodist University, and formerly of UGA. In Obama’s shoes, I’d claim credit, too, said the professor. “I would ignore the ability of market economies to recover from recessions without increased government spending and fail to mention that little of the economic stimulus money has yet been spent, or that when it is spent, most of it will do more to stimulate voting blocs and stimulate the economy.” Ouch! Dead on.

Dick Army has been forced to resign from his big paycheck DLA Piper law firm. Fox News and Murdoch have been smacked with the loss of. 12 sponsers secondary to Glenn Beck’s hate speech.

The only thing I suffer from is from your ignorant, racist rants.
You give yourself heartburn.
You post about my asking you to go play in the traffic is truly emblematic of your thought process, full of malice and lacking in substance.

Murdock don’t like to drop them sponsers but they is fallin’ like flies:

The companies that have moved their ads elsewhere in recent days included ConAgra, Geico, Procter & Gamble and the insurance company Progressive. In a statement that echoed the comments of other companies, ConAgra said on Thursday that “we are firmly committed to diversity, and we would like to prevent the potential perception that advertising during this program was an endorsement of the viewpoints shared.”

Jackie,

You remind me of a kind of person that Michael Jackson would be infatuated with. You remember him. The poor fellow mutilated himself to death in an attempt to gain the affection of other people. And in the end, he failed. Most liberal Negroes are of that disposition. And they use the cover of love for everyone to mask their self loathing.

Sorry Jack, I’m not that kind of Negro. Be advised that there are some Negroes out here that cherish freedom and understand what freedom is. Damn the affection. And if there are people on the right side of the political spectrum that’s striving toward freedom, I’m definitely in their corner.

Check out this special brand of ignorance. It absolutely has no value. And the precious gift of thought/thinking is absent. It is taken directly from the horse’s assmouth.

Jackie,

Generally speaking, what people see in others is usually a reflection of what’s occurring inside.

Sorry for the heartburn. Take a pepcid. If that doesn’t work, according to the Obama/Kevorkian health care plan, Dr. Conrad Murray is on call.

You remind me of the cretin the Marines use to keep their recruits in line, “maggot.”
I have a tendency to believe that you are so low that you can crawl below a snake’s belly.

As for seeing myself in others, if there were ever a counter-argument to your statement, your statement was profound in the absence of merit. Who would ever want to have tendencies like those you exhibit.

You keep using the Obama/Kervorkian health care plan knowing there is no such thing. Over and over, you exhibit your delusional qualities, pretending to be a Negro. If true, I would respectfully ask you to turn in your “Negro membership.”

What you purport to take from the horse’s ass/mouth is a clever play on words that does nothing but exhance the label you have acquired, miscreant.

Your brand of ignorance is profound, literally and figuratively. Take a look in the mirror and see what you find but an empty suit wrapped around a shell of a person.

You mention the fact that because you are a person that operates on the right side of the political spectrum, it gives you the exclusive insight to “freedom.” GET A GRIP!!!!!!!!!!!

You know how the pantywaste liberals hate guns and all, right? Well, up in Brooklyn, for pieces of garbage walk into a business owner’s restaurant supply store and shout “where’s the money!” First of all, the fact these POS’s chose a restaurant supply store thinking it had a lot of cash on hand showed their intelligence. For you Obama voters, restaurant supply stores usually deal with credit. But anyway, this criminal garbage byproduct of American culture was armed, so they probably felt they were doing something right. Now in pantywaste liberal land, the store owner should not have had the right to own a gun himself.

So, in walks this garbage with guns shouting at employees and pistol whipping one. Long story short, the store owner whips out a pump shotgun and starts unloading, taking the garbage out, so to speak. Two of the four died on the scene saving taxpayer dollars instantly, but two were caught after cops followed blood trails and are in a hospital to later go on trial. Perhaps the most ironic part of this story is that pedestrians were still having to walk around pools of blood where the dead thugs were hours before. Oh, that, and the fact that it happened just a short distance from Bill Clinton’s office. Liberals and give peace a chance and no guns are needed. You just gotta love it.

Only cowards like you liberals can’t handle dissent and childishly scream “nazi” as an attempt to shut us up. And I gots news for ya, Mrs. G, we ain’t shuttin’ up. Besides, we don’t have a White House snitch website ala Hitler who quelled public dissent. Moron.

Don’t look now, but Pelosi herself, who said that town hall freedom speakers wore swatzikas (can one of you d-bags on the idiotic left at least show a picture of one being worn at a town hall meeting?) recently had no problems with anti-Iraq war protesters just three years ago. See, this is why you can’t take these moronic liberals seriously. They have no consistency in their beliefs. That is, of course, because their beliefs are emotion driven, not logically or factually driven. They lie for example just to get a point across, but in their twisted sick liberal minds, they don’t see it as lying. Either that or they just don’t care. Who knows. Who cares. Anyway, here’s Speaker Pelosi praising dissent – when Bush was president:

Uh huh. “Exploding” deficits put Democare in peril. I honestly do not understand what kind of thinking can be going on in the liberal mind up there in Washington. Who in their right mind (no pun intended) can POSSIBLY believe that this out of control deficit spending – the deficit more than DOUBLE now forecasted under Obama – will not have repercussions. Let’s have a little reality check here: earlier this year Democrats rammed through a so-called stimulus bill that was nearly 70% of the total Iraq war costs over SIX YEARS; they approved it in two weeks, and it wound up being 90% earmarks. Now these pinheads want to take over 1/6th of the US economy and turn it over to government control. Fascism not withstanding, exactly where the hell do these liberal idiots think they are going to get the money? Why you the average Joe Plumber taxpayer, that’s who. So much for Obama’s tax cuts for 95% of Americans, eh?

WASHINGTON – With polls showing rising concern over the government’s grim financial situation, key Republicans and a growing number of Democrats say it will be hard to push an ambitious health reform bill through Congress unless it reduces projected federal spending on medical care and begins to bring the national debt under control.

“It’s not good enough that it’s just paid for; it actually has to start driving long-term costs down,” said Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), one of nine freshman Democrats who last month urged Senate leaders to pay more attention to controlling federal health spending in this era of “exploding debt and deficits.”

“The status quo is going to bankrupt the federal government and bankrupt most American families,” Warner said.

Jackie Please! You know that the Obama/Kervorkian health care plan is being dangled before gullible Americans. President Obama believes it is the best way to cut spending. And parts of the Obama/Kervorkian health care plan amounts to, using Jackie’s words, asking Americans to go play in traffic. That’s why Sarah Palin had to graphically object to it.

Listen, you New World Order types are not going to destroy America or Americans. I am on the side of America. And God Almighty is my witness. I have never ever lost a battle.

The so-called educated integrationist Negroes should beware. You know what you have coming.

I can’t reveal all of my secrets because you’ll send your jack booted thugs to my door e.g., Patrick Cuffy, Melvin Walker, David Ramsey, Sheriff Sidney Dorsey, etc. But I can tell you which plan we are using. It’s called the ‘Josiah’ plan.

All of the power that we have attained has to remain a mystery to the so-called educated integrationist Negroes and others. Trust me; you will never know what hit you.

Really? tell that to the many relatives I had who were killed because of their religion. I can only pray that muslims take over this country and force their religion into our schools and into our courts (like YOUR kind wants to do with YOUR “brand” of cult)…. if only to make the skin crawl of all those like YOU!

I guess you know a little something about the ‘Josiah’ plan. I’m telling you right now. All of that baby killing abortion, perversion, and disregard for the elderly etc. in the name of choice, freedom, and health care have got go. Do you know that repentance and honoring the Law is liberty?

I have now idea what you are talking about in reference to Islam coming into our schools and courts etc. The CIA, NSA, ASA, FBI, etc. is in control of Islam, especially radical Islam. They have infiltrated Christianity too. Maybe that’s why you don’t have a favorable opinion of Christianity.

It’s impossible to confront the evil that has raised its head throughout the world without the Holy Ghost power. The only chance the New World Order has in defeating us is to convince us to forget God Almighty. If they succeed, that evil spirit knows that God Almighty will forget us. And we will be defeated.

Remember, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Don’t worry about the salvation of everyone else. Save yourself from this wicked generation while you still have time.

Why can’t the gov’t fix one problem they created before creating another, even more massive problem? We are facing the implosion of Social Security in as little as 8 or 9 years. The gov’t owes $2 or $43 TRILLION dollars to the fund, money it has “borrowed” for it over the last 40 years or so. The bill is coming due, yet it is not accounted for anywhere in the gov’t budgets as it is kept “off-balance sheet”. Accounting gimmicks, pure and simple. Enron would be proud.

We do not need healthcare reform. We need gov’t reform. Almost every one of our problems today are the result of gov’t intervention in the marketplace. Look at the driving factors behind the healthcare increases. Gov’t mandated coverages are somewhat of a joke and vary from state to state. These coverages include everything from “aroma therapy” to “acupuncture”, with a least one state covering “hair replacement”. It actually pays for the “Hair Club for Men” visits? Can anyone name anything that is not already taxed by gov’t in some shape, form or fashion?

To me Malpractice awards from “Jackpot Jurys” leed the pack in crying out for reform. I read that some malpractice insurance premiuns are in excess of $200,000 a year. All of this, of course, is factored in to what doctors charge and, subsequently, what we pay for insurance. Dems love the campaign cash it receives from the Trial Lawyers Associations, so I do not look for this needed reform anytime soon.

We must quit expecting insurance to pay for everything. If you bought a new car for a price that included all maintainence for the life of the car, what do you think that would do to the price of the car? Make it unaffordable? It is what we are seeing with insurance.

Do not get me started concerning the banking collapse. It was Bubba Clinton that sent Reno out to the various major banking institutions threatening them with possible “discrimination” lawsuits if they did not make more loans to otherwise unqualified minorities. Hence the creation of the NINJA loans (No job, no income, no problem) and the creative financing for loan qualifications. Twice during President Bush’s administration democrats effectively blocked Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac regulations designed to rein in the bad loans.

Speaking of death penalty cases, if Troy Anthony Davis is truly innocent, what was the incriminating evidence found in his house by police and suppressed by the judge in his original trial?? Was it the murder weapon???

Is the federal judge Edenfield who may hear the habeas proceeding connected to the law firm of Barker & Edenfield which represented Davis in the appeal of that suppression in the Georgia Supreme Court?

Why is nobody talking about what the police found in Davis’ house? See the Georgia Supreme Court opinion from 1991 in State v. Davis, 261 Ga. 225 (1991). Would it refute his claim of “actual innocence”?

Read the opinion of the Georgia Supreme Court for yourself:

http://vlex.com/vid/the-state-v-davis-20396926

“The trial court granted Troy Anthony Davis’ motion to suppress evidence seized in a search of his residence, and the state appeals.”

“…Officers informed Davis’ mother that they were looking for him and the alleged murder weapon….”
