Run, Sarah, run (set the pace, too)

Thinking Right’s weekend free-for-all. Pick a topic:

Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney and her publicity-seeking stunts have finally achieved the attention she deserves: One- or two-paragraph stories that run with those that warn us that sheep on the remote Scottish island of Hirta are gradually shrinking because of global warming. Global warming’s shrunk our interest in her, too.

Are pickups prejudiced? Two Dalton people were killed when the motorcycle they were riding was sideswiped by a motorist who apparently crossed the center lane. A motorist driving a car could have done the same thing. Yet pickup drivers — I am one — are presumed to be aggressive and when a lesser vehicle is involved, it’s always noted that the offending vehicle was a pickup.

Not surprising that among the big cities with the lowest unemployment rates is Washington, D.C., with 6.2 percent. Atlanta ranks 18th, at 9.6 percent. The stimulus creates jobs. For government workers.

Atlanta businesses about to be hit with a sharp increase in city property taxes fall into two camps: those who pass on the entire levy and the mom-and-pop operators who can’t, and therefore take it out of salaries and services. The latter are the kinds that get taxed out of existence.

The cheating by officials at four elementary schools on the CRCT is so dishonest to children and their parents that nobody found to be involved should ever be allowed to set foot on public school property again. The schools are Deerwood Academy in Atlanta, Atherton Elementary in DeKalb, Parklane Elementary in Fulton and Burroughs-Molette in Glynn County. It is simply appalling that despite the evidence Atlanta Public Schools officials still pretend otherwise. “They’re taking the position that there’s no confession, so it didn’t happen,” a state official told the state school board.

A study finds that Georgia ranks 14th nationally in percentage of fat adults and third nationally in fat 10- to 17-year-olds. Georgia is criticized in the report by the Trust for America’s Health for not having strict nutrition standards for school lunches and vending machines. It ain’t the school’s fault. Children eat at the same tables with fat mommas and daddies. The place to start reforming America’s health care system is at the TV snack tray.

Fat Georgians are in training to reclaim a title lost last week. Three circus elephants defeated three humans in an eating contest, downing 505 hot dog buns in six minutes. Humans downed 143.

Take the dog, you take the fleas. The Securities and Exchange Commission votes unanimously to require companies requiring a bail-out to allow shareholders to vote on executive compensation. I agree with the principle. It is, however, an instance of regulators using the bail-out to meddle in management’s business.

Run, Sarah, run. Actually, all candidates should resign to run for higher office. All four of the presidential and vice presidential candidates last year, including Palin, held onto their jobs until they got something better.

If North Korea launches a cyberattack on Thinking Right, I’m drafting every fierce liberal who camps out on my blog and assigning them to Kim Jong II’s blog, Thinking Nutty.

Vice President Joe Biden announced that hospitals have agreed to forgo $155 billion in future government payments so the nonexistent money can be diverted to partially “finance” a new health care entitlement that Democrats want to ram through Congress this year. First of all, the money is an illusion. Secondly, Biden is not authorized to speak for the administration.

The pot smokers have the same solution to California’s budget woes that the Underground Atlanta gambling interests have for Georgia’s: Legalize something objectionable. Surely somebody’s convinced that prostitution is some state’s budget savior.

I read the book that is the most comprehensive on Iraq’s cost and I wouldn’t trust anything “congress spews out or has accepted” as far as I could spit it. Look at the idiots in Congress and what they say. Some of the dumbest individuals on the planet are in Congress. Bachman, Imhoff, and the list goes on. I cited the reference. It’s extensively refrenced itself. Check it out at the bookstore.en

Congress can’t even get a straight story from the CIA. Cheney ran secret programs for years and the gang of 8 who is supposed to get closed briefings didn’t. I wouldn’t trust Congress’ figures as far as you can spit ‘em.

I’m happy to see the Republicans proclaim Obama will lose. They have continued to do thatat and deny what reality is and will be. What I can’t get out of you as Obama cuts unemployment in half from what it was in January as a result of 8 years of Bush is who you think will beat Obama who is a Republican in 2012. I see the platitudes “Obama will beat Obama.” That’s what Wooten said in September when Palin helped drag you down.

And Wooten thinks Palin will be President–how goofey and out of touch is that?

Who is the Republican ticket that wins in 2012.? I’d start tracking http://www.fivethirtyeight.com and get some polling facts. I can’t see any Republican candidate that will come close to Obama in 2012.

From Nate Silver quoting Rasmussen Reports:

The big news on the health care front this weekend is that House Democrats are prepared to call for a tax increase on the highest-earning Americans in order to pay for expanded health insurance. Although accounts of the exact details differ slightly, it appears that the tax hike would take the form of a “surcharge” of 1 percent on incomes from $280,000 to $400,000, 1.5 percent on incomes of $400,000 to $800,000 and 3 percent on incomes of $800,000 and above. This means that someone making $500,000 would pay about an extra $2,700 in taxes each year, and someone making $1,000,000 would pay an extra $13,200. The burden, in other words, would fall disproportionately on those who earn not just in the six figures, but rather in the seven figures, for whom much more of their income would become subject to the 3 percent rate.

I also think the House has probably found the path of least resistance in terms of marshaling public support for financing health care. In June, the Kaiser Health Tracking Poll asked Americans about seven different mechanisms to pay for health care. The one solution that Kaiser missed was that of a national sales tax, so for that I use data from Rasmussen Reports instead, who ran a May poll indicating that 40 percent of Americans would support a national sales tax if it paid for health insurance. Increasing taxes on incomes of $250,000+ was supported by 68 percent of Americans in the Kaiser poll, tying it with increased cigarette and booze taxes for the most popular option:

Here’s a small part of what Peggy Noonan wrote about Palin. Noonan, BTW, is a Republican supporter. So, when you have one of your own supporters calling her shallow, ignorant, stupid, etc, you have a problem. Peggy Noonan wrote:

“”"In television interviews she was out of her depth in a shallow pool. She was limited in her ability to explain and defend her positions, and sometimes in knowing them. She couldn’t say what she read because she didn’t read anything. She was utterly unconcerned by all this and seemed in fact rather proud of it: It was evidence of her authenticity. She experienced criticism as both partisan and cruel because she could see no truth in any of it. She wasn’t thoughtful enough to know she wasn’t thoughtful enough. Her presentation up to the end has been scattered, illogical, manipulative and self-referential to the point of self-reverence. “I’m not wired that way,” “I’m not a quitter,” “I’m standing up for our values.” I’m, I’m, I’m.

In another age it might not have been terrible, but here and now it was actually rather horrifying. “”"

You Republicans will never learn. She’s the best thing to happen to the Party…….the DEMOCRATIC PARTY. She unites them like no other while dividing the Republicans and alienating the Independents who the Republicans NEED to win in a national election.

My question is: Is Sarah Palin an UNDERCOVER DEMOCRAT??? Gotta be for all the good she has done for the Republican Party.

Gotta love it!

And all the people jumping up and down are careful to

offer no economic solutions

make sure they don’t name who they think can beat Obama in 2012.

Republicans are great at pissing on any ideas; they can’t come up with any of their own. That’s why you continue to lose.

Kyle Wingfield’s editorial was interesting. Kyle was appalled that our republican gubernatorial candidate, John Oxendine would make a political statement at the bedside of his wife after she just gave birth. Kyle’s opinion is that family members should not be a part of the drama in the political theater. Kyle laments that Sarah Palin quit her job because of the toll it took on her family. The obvious question is, “whose fault was that?” Sarah Palin has been traveling with her family and placing them around her like stage props for years. That was her choice. Any politician that repeats that mistake is bound to make a mess of their family life. In the case of Mark Sanford I found it interesting that his wife has been his campaign manager for years. She probably should have helped him a little less. Typically, men don’t like getting help from their wives, i.e., Bill and Hillary.

Stimulus checks to individuals worked well to boost the economy.Many were confiscated by individual states to satisfy some debt or other,some,like mine were squirreled away for a future rainy day,A lot of them went to the drug dealer,some went to pay down debt and somewhere around $316 was actually spent on something benefitting the economy.Yes we need another stimulus.

Money given to AIG is being used wisely,bonuses are being paid again.I was worried about whether they were going to get their extra millions.GM is out of bankruptcy.Things are moving right along.Ford is apparently talking about not building the Ranger anymore,instead concentrating on boosting the sales of the F-150.I wasn’t going to buy a new Ranger anyway.

I repeat,I need more stimulus money.

Taxing the rich is going to be a major plank of health care and it should be. ds It’s no laughing matter. The people who are being taxed for a public health option so that it doesn’t screw doctors the way Medicaid and Medicare have find all kinds of creative and often illegal ways to avoid paying any taxes. Right now about 52000 rich Americans are wetting their pants waiting to see whether their hidden tax shelters are going to be exposed by a federal court in Florida tomorrow so that their money can be seized and they can be prosecuted.

If Palin has any aspirations to be President, and your party stupidly thinks she’s “the og to pne for you” according to polls, there is going to be a lot brighter light on her dysfunctional family.

Palin is not going to be able to run for President by avoiding comprehenxive interviews except Faux Greta. BTW she invited about 8 major media outlets onto her fishing boat where she talked gibberish at a manic pace using a cadence generally reserved for auctioneers.

There will be a tax on the wealthy in the HEALTH CARE REFORM BILL:

As I said and 1984 aka Andy AKA Michael Smith can’t read:

it appears that the tax hike would take the form of a “surcharge” of 1 percent on incomes from $280,000 to $400,000, 1.5 percent on incomes of $400,000 to $800,000 and 3 percent on incomes of $800,000 and above. Geeze, does P2012 have a life? Family? Job? WTF is up with that deranged psychopath libtroll from hell? What a sad, pathetic human being. The good news is that libtard POS is mortal like the rest of us and will return to dirt some day.

Anyway, this is exhibit #12,323 of the New York Slimes showing libtard bias. The Cliff Notes version: Sotomayor struggling with diabetes is “inspiring”, but Palin having a kid is “troubling”. Only in libtard land……….

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New York Times White House reporter Sheryl Gay Stolberg issued another flattering bunch of factoids about Obama’s Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor — she controls her diabetes: “Court Nominee Manages Diabetes With Discipline.” Stolberg suggested that Sotomayor’s “no-nonsense” approach to her insulin injections was a sign of how she will tackle Supreme Court cases.
‘Judge Sonia Sotomayor carries a small black travel pouch, not much larger than a wallet. It contains the implements she needs — a blood sugar testing kit, a needle and insulin — to manage diabetes, a disease she has had for 46 years. Friends say she is not shy about using it. “She’ll be eating Chinese dumplings,” said Xavier Romeu Matta, a former law clerk to the judge, “and she’ll say, ‘Excuse me sweetie,’ and pull out the kit and inject her insulin.” That no-nonsense attitude, combined with the attention to detail that characterizes her legal opinions, has been a hallmark of Judge Sotomayor’s approach to Type 1 diabetes, according to friends, colleagues and her longtime doctor, Andrew Jay Drexler. An endocrinologist in Los Angeles, Dr. Drexler pronounced her “in very good health” in a letter provided by the White House.’
Stolberg treated Sotomayor as almost heroic for keeping her diabetes under control and never suggested her medical condition could be a hindrance to performing on the highest court in the land. So, when John McCain picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, did Stolberg laud Palin as heroic for being both a governor and mother of five children? Of course not. In fact, Stolberg took the opposite approach, suggesting the job of both vice president and mother would be too much for Palin to handle.
‘She herself, Gov. Palin, has a new baby, and so one question that comes up, is this is a woman that has a lot going on in her personal life, she’s got a new baby herself, her daughter’s about to get married and have a baby, a lot going on there. I do think it’s a fair question to ask how she will juggle those responsibilities. Maybe it’s a question that wouldn’t be asked of a man, as Steve Schmidt said, but it is a question that I think Americans will ask.”‘
Nah, no libtard media bias whatsoever, right?
Anyone with an IQ above room temperature knows this is a well organized smoke screen in an attempt to save Pelosi’s face in her claims that the CIA lied to her about waterboarding. Why? Simple: this alleged plan was never actually implemented. The Slimes fails to tell you that, as per libtard DNC media usual…….
Libtards think that just merely by raising taxes on the evil rich that they will be able to pay for all their wonderful candyassed fairy tale libtard utopian [incompetent] government-run socialist crap like “free” universal health care for all (never mind 86% of the US has a health care plan and 75% of them are happy with it – nah, facts like that mean nothing to libtards). If you want to see the future of America under libtardism, look no further than Kalifornia:
I for one sure as hell hope so, she can do it too. These nitwit liberal socialist Dem-beciles really don’t know what they may be unleashing. This lady is not one to sit on the sidelines for long, not saying she is vindictive but she strikes me as the type person that gets-even long before she gets mad. Which means the word quit really isn’t in her vocabulary but the word alternative is likely to be found somewhere in her conservative little red book.
Well, it sure is comforting to know that the Congressional Black Caucus is looking into such important matters such as the racial makeup of committee staffs……
Black Caucus Studies Racial Makeup of House Committee Staffs
By Janie Lorber
The New York Times
Among Democrats on Capitol Hill, black aides are significantly more likely to work for committees whose chairmen are African-American, according to a survey conducted by the Congressional Black Caucus.
Blacks make up nearly half the staffs at two committees with black chairmen — the Oversight and Government Reform and Homeland Security — while there are only two blacks among the 55 staff members working for the House Agriculture and Rules committees, both of which are headed by white representatives.
“The survey confirms what members have noticed anecdotally—the lack of African-American staffers on Capitol Hill, particularly in senior positions,” said Representative Barbara Lee, Democrat of California and the chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, in a statement Thursday. “We are aware that there are efforts under way to address this institutionally and the caucus is committed to lending assistance to House leadership and committee chairs to ensure a more diverse workforce on Capitol Hill.”
The unpublished survey, first reported by CQ early Thursday morning, is an initial, if not the only, attempt to document the racial breakdown of Hill employees — a quest that has become increasingly common in Washington since the election of President Obama.
But, on the whole, the survey found that the percentage of blacks working on Capitol Hill, 18.7 percent, is actually greater than the proportion of African-Americans — at 12.8 percent — in the national population.
Meanwhile, still no word on whether or not there was a “hate” crime in Ohio when a white family was attacked after a July 4th fireworks show:
