We do have neighbors looking out for neighbors…….that is the way it should be folks looking after and helping other folks !

I sleep with my sliding glass door on the deck open on nice nights, and I never lock that door when it is closed. I sometimes forget to lock the basement door when the dogs come in from the final “outing” of the evening.

I have left my front door unlocked when away, and sometimes at night. Sometimes I forget to close the garage door at night. All the windows are open at night too…..

My neighbors don’t lock their doors. I feel very safe in my neighborhood. We all look after each other. I have two dogs with scary barks.

I have NEVER in the last 31 years been a victim of a crime in Metro Atlanta. I attend Falcons games, Thrasher’s games, Braves games, and have been on MARTA numerous times, etc. Nothing. nada. nil.

I won’t live my life in fear of the “what if’s”. I am constantly aware of my surroundings.

By the way, I’m a single (white) woman.
