That is just a sampling of the right-wing hawks and neo-cons that have strongly advocated and continue to stongly advocate the use of military force as the primary tool of US foreign policy.

Contrast that cowardly crew with some of the individuals who insist that military force should only be used as a last resort, and have questioned either the decision to go to war in Iraq or the war’s subsequent conduct. Such people include: Chuck Hagel (2 purple hearts as an infantryman in Vietnam)”; Colin Powell; Jim Webb (purple heart and Navy Cross in Vietnam); and Anthony Zinni (Vietnam infantry Marine and former CentCom Commander).

It is beyond ironic and hypocritical that the Republican Party portrays itself as the party that is strong on national defense and “tough” while its spokesmen and leaders are nothing more than draft dodgers and intellectual lightweights. Every time one of those individuals speak about aggressively using the military, the first question that should be posed to them is “why didn’t you serve when it was your time?”

Saying that Cheney is “one” of your heroes is like saying that Mephistopheles is the “hero” of Faust. I would rather not know who your other “heroes” are. Suffice it to say that I’m relieved that Rush Limbaugh is not among them, although I think his presence continues the tradition started by Bush, the torturing president, of portraying the Republicans as low comedy.

Most un-credible people don’t win the Nobel Peace Prize and do as much for the world in their post-Presidency life as he has done. Sorry, but I respectfully disagree with your statement. Given all of this, he still seems VERY credible to me and I would venture to guess to a lot of the world including a lot of people in the U.S. (although maybe not what I assume to be an ultra conservative like yourself, but instead to people like me who are Moderate Independents and who vote for both Democrats and Republicans).
