1. I'm glad this is Sonny's last term. I never voted for him anyway. Many of you cried because Roy Barnes had revised that racist (Southern) flag so you ran to the voting booths and put Sonny in. This really solved the issue, didn't it? We'll get you for messing with our Southern heritage. Now many of you, like me can't wait for his last term to end so he can pack his s*hit and leave. Vote out all of the ReTHUGS. Time for a BIG change in this State. Just like California. Boot out Gov. Davis and put in Arnold. The movie star will fix all of our problems. California is broke and has gotten worse.
2. Karen Handel? What in the h*ell do some of you see in this chick? She has everyone of you fooled. Remember voting rights issues?
3. How come the Southern states are still RED? Isn't GA purple, hoping that it turns BLUE? The ReTHUGS got all of you by the butt cheeks. The South, will it ever learn? H*ell no!
4. We should all think seriously about doing something with our transportation system. High Speed Rail (HSR) is the new mode of transportation. HSR is going to hit BIG time and will be the new mode of transportation whether GA likes it or not. Go ahead Georgia and stay behind. You'll get left in the dust. Small minds that are scared of growth. Business as usual is going out the door. Wake Up Georgia!

Good point, retiredds.

By the way, "cleric" meant "literate" and, correspondingly, "literate" was defined as "clerical", just as, in later days, to have work as a "clerk" meant, foremost, that you had arithmetic. Divines all could read, but many of those who could read were not divines. All clerics were males, yes; monks and priests, not necessarily. The cleresy were the literate class, the ones considered qualified to run affairs.

I pontificate like this because I really appreciate your comment about elite vs. popular "literacy", and because this whole crazy Medieval story is playing out again right now, in Afganistan, under America's nose.

Oh, let us not forget, guys like Oxendine, Perdue, and other self-serving politicians know what is best for the children. Remember in the "dark ages" it was only the clerics that were allowed to read, i.e. then have all the power. I am soooooo very grateful that Sonny and Oxendine and their lackeys make all the decisions for me, then I can sit back, relax, and don't have to think. "OH what a relief it is."

Director Casey,

Your sources are A1. Indeed I do work for KFC, seven days a week. Up on Cobb Pkwy. I'm the one who makes The Big Chicken work. With the hand crank I roll its eyes, and with foot pedals I make its lips move. I bet you didn't know that chickens have lips.

It can be exausting work up there, especially on hot days, but someone's got to do it. And I can truly say, with a degree of pride, that I know how to get inside a chicken's head.

Call me the Chicken Whisperer.

Also, Oxendine says he’ll veto any Sunday alcohol sales bill that crosses his desk if elected governor. Why is he so afraid to let the people vote on this issue? I’m voting Libertarian, for John Monds. At least Libertarians realize that things like blue laws should be created at the very lowest level possible if they must exist at all… not statewide.

As Republicans continue to prove that they're just as pro big government as the Democrats, more and more people are getting fed up with the two party system and going to the Libertarian Party. Many people say they'd like to see a third party be competitive, but that it's a wasted vote. You'd see more Libertarians on the ballot if the Republicans and Democrats hadn't created such difficult barriers for anyone besides them to be on the ballot on the first place. If the Libertarian candidate in this race, John Monds, gets at least 20 percent of the vote, the Libertarian Party will gain equality in Georgia. Don't you think that's worth voting Libertarian for?

I was re-reading an article the other day about the notion of the Peter Principle. The Peter Principle is the principle that "In a Hierarchy Every Employee Tends to Rise to His Level of Incompetence."
I think this aptly applies to most if not all the Republican GA legislators and their leadership, and I use the term leadership very loosely. If GA is to work its way into the 21st century (from the 19th where it currently resides) we need leaders who will lead creatively and boldly. That does not fit the description of the current crop of Republicans.
