How can you “love” gays and hate the sin? Is that kind of like “I hate redheads” but I love people with red hair?

If you “love” gays, how many gays have you had to your house to dinner in the past month? After all, they were just eating dinner, not having sex. Or is eating with them “encouraging” their lifestyle.

What is a marriage of convenience?

If you are trying to stand for women who are battered by men, how do you know who these women are? How many men are battered by women?

Some Christians hate gays! Laws of the USA do not allow execution of a person(s) because of their sexual preference. How is this tidbit used to bolster your thesis?

Jackie, Muslims HATE gays. Muslims will have gays put to death if they get the chance. I was speaking against marriages of people who only marry out of convenience. I was speaking at marriages that have men beating up their wives. I am strongly against violence towards women.

By the way, what is a Morom? Never heard of that religion before.

Peter, for someone like you, who judges and points out every little thing I say, you sure do have a funny way of showing kindness. Calling me Ms. and then continuing to insult me while pointing fingers at me is hypocritical.

You only know of marriages where there are written chronologies.
Your concept of marriage is grounded in the Western Anglo-Saxon temperament.

What about marriage in the Muslim world where multiple wives are allowed?
What about marriage in the Morom religion where multiple wives are allowed?
What about marriage in the world of the Eskimos where the oldest daughter of the family is offered as “warmth” for guest in the shelter?

There are a lot of things about marriage we do not know because we have no written record, only oral history. With that being said, is our marital mores greater than those of other cultures that have written chronology of their martial structures?

Lastly, your speaking out against divorce and making the statement “there are certain marriages that should never take place” sounds like a dichotomy to me!

skydog, I have NEVER advocate violence against gays. I am to love gay people just like I am to love any other person. I do not have to tolerate the sin. But I don’t advocate violence. I like to debate topics like this. And no, there aren’t any gay family members in my family.

Jackie, I challenge you to study up on the history of marriage. Yes, ceremonies are different in every culture but they all have involved man and woman. And Jackie, I DO SPEAK OUT AGAINST DIVORCE. There are certain marriages that should never take place.
