NeNe Leakes of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” either is having trouble at home or is working hard at boosting her brand.

Maybe both.

A RadarOnline.com story says that ever since her son, Bryson Bryant, was arrested on a drug charge in Gwinnett County, things have been icy at Chez Leakes.

“The arrest really upset NeNe as she knows her son is hanging out with a bad crowd,” said the report, which says young Bryant has dropped out of college and is now working as a club promoter. “It has put pressure on her relationship with her husband, Greg Leakes, who is not Bryson’s real father as they both know that he’s still drinking and smoking with his buddies.”

The quote most likely to get the side-eyes rolling in Atlanta: “NeNe perceives herself as a real socialite in Atlanta and she does not like the fact that Bryson’s arrest generated bad publicity for her and she is worried that he might get into more trouble in the future.”

NeNe Leakes, a cast member on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” spiked an interview with a local Fox News affiliate in New York just before it was to begin, TMZ reports.

Leakes has been keeping her Twitter followers updated on her every move during her trip to promote her book and the show with posts like, “Still grinding in rainy NYC! Book signing in Harlem today! Hue-man bookstore at 6 p.m.! Show some love New York.”

She hasn’t made any mention of the scotched show, but “sources on the set tell TMZ that she realized it was a FOox show just a few minutes before her appearance,” the celeb site reported. It also said witnesses overheard her saying “she hates the network” and was troubled by a recent report by Fox 5 Atlanta.

Leakes made unwanted headlines recently after her son Bryson Bryant was arrested for a minor pot possession charge in Gwinnett County.

When it comes to the kids, the R&B artist prefers privacy

Buzz looks forward to watching the April 4 broadcast of the Trumpet Awards, since we spent Saturday backstage waiting to interview honorees and performers and didn’t actually see the show.

But we were glad to run into folks like artist Synthia Saint James, who created the first official Kwanzaa stamp, and actress Keshia Knight Pulliam.

And then there was R&B artist Keith Sweat, now hosting a nationally syndicated radio show, The Sweat Hotel, but perhaps best known lately and locally as the ex of Lisa Wu Hartwell of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” fame.

Sweat had presented singer-songwriter-producer Frankie Beverly’s lifetime achievement award and, as you’d expect, he didn’t come close to commenting on any custody-battle drama.

“My kids love their mom and they love their dad,” he said, keeping things positive. “I’m in their life and that’s a good thing. When it comes to my kids I keep things low-key.”
