Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane is in a Fulton County jail for a probation violation. Guess this wasn’t the ’spotlight’ he and Usher are singing about in their new single − or maybe it is. Gucci was expected to drop a new CD Dec. 8.

We were just talking about him last month when he was at the BET Hip-Hop Awards performing a surprising three songs. His track popularity was definitely on the rise.

According to our AJC colleagues, the rapper, who’s real name is Radric Davis, is currently at the Fulton County jail and is due to be released in May 2010, according to jail officials.

It is unclear how Davis violated his probation. It’s also unclear how his legal troubles will affect his album release and future projects.

BTW: For our hip-hop purists, Gucci was reportedly born in Birmingham and moved to Atlanta in the 4th grade. So he is not a “native” Atlantan but he is an Atlantan.

Fergie is opening up about cheating … and her fondness of women. This of course is amid all the rumors that her husband, actor Josh Duhamel, recently slept with a stripper while filming a movie in Atlanta.

The couple denies the allegations of Tattletale dancer Nicole Forrester, who’s spoken to tabloids and local radio station Q100FM. As we mentioned last week, they were even spotted at Atlanta restaurant Chops having a cute date night.

Fergie, lead lady of the Black-Eyed Peas, told the Advocate that “just because I enjoy women doesn’t mean I’m allowed to have affairs in my relationship. I learned through talking with my therapist that it is still cheating even if it’s with girls, so there is a rule there.”

My, my … this little story just continues to heat up.

Radio host Frank Ski honors ‘Local Legends’

Frank Ski’s house was full — we’re talking overrun — with women over the weekend. The occasion? The V103 morning show host and wife Tanya hosted a “Local Legend Luncheon” starring Scarlet Pressley-Brown, Delta’s director of external affairs and community relations, the actress-producer-director Jasmine Guy, and six young ladies from Clayton County who were selected by their school counselors on the basis of grades and community involvement. Fleming’s Steakhouse catered the affair and Cargo Luxury Limo and Bella Marie Bridal provided stylish transportation and attire. Enjoying the day were high school seniors Neekisia Jackson, Angelique Harris, Leslie Sanchez and Aliyah Stokes of Carver Early College High and Tammara Atchison and Symone B. Wilson of Frederick Douglass High.
