The Atlanta Falcons are just one win from the Super Bowl. With the team facing San Francisco in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game we thought a list of 49 fun ideas or promotions surrounding the Falcons-49ers game was fitting.

Here’s one: Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse in Phipp’s Plaza is a popular spot sports figures. NBA great Shaquille O’Neal was spotted there around Christmas. Atlanta Hawks player Zaza Pachulia has been known to stop by as has Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann.

So you knew Davio’s would get into the spirit of things for Sunday’s big game and they did not disappoint. Stop by the bar for a Natural Ice for just 3 bucks. Known by the beer cognescenti as “Natty Ice,” it’ll be known temporarily as the “Matty Ice.”

Cute huh?

Also, Lucky’s Burger & Brew in Roswell is featuring the Rise Up stacked chicken sandwich this weekend. If you bring a box of Rice A Roni, the San Francisco treat, your dog gets a hound-friendly treat.

Lucky, the mascot at the Rowell restaurant named in his honor, is ready to rise up and help others!

The rice (and any other food staples you may wish to donate) will be donated to North Fulton Community Charities a non-profit agency that serves the needy in Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, Mountain Park and Roswell. NFCC assists families with basic items such as food, rent and utilities, clothing, and adult education classes during short term emergencies.

If you’re looking for a swank sports bar alternative for game watching, you might consider Del Frisco’s Grille in Buckhead. The former Craft location in front of the Mandarin Oriental (formerly The Mansion) is posh yet approachable, with lots of big TVs for sports fans. And they’re ready to Rise Up with a new signature cocktail in the Birds’ honor.

Cheers!

Cheers!

The “Falcons Fury” cocktail (shown at the right) is made with 3 oz. SKYY Vodka, 1 oz. simple syrup, 1 oz lemon juice, ¼ oz. balsamic vinegar and 4 muddled strawberries.

The downtown Atlanta Ritz-Carlton welcomes fans from both teams, featuring the Falcons Rise (2 oz Maker’s Mark, 1 oz pomegranate syrup and 1 oz cranberry juice) as well as the 49ers Field Goal (1 ½ oz raspberry vodka, ½ oz Chambord, ¾ oz lime juice, 1 oz simple syrup and 1 oz cranberry juice) on the drink menu at Lumen, the sophisticated lobby bar, this weekend.

Ok …  four fun Falcons ideas down, 45 to go! Rise up and let me hear from you if you’ve got something cooking.

You’ve got to take in The Varsity on North Avenue. Their story as a business and local landmark is amazing, but also their (free) upper parking deck is one of the best places to take portraits with a Downtown ATL backdrop.

I’ll be at the Dome, tailgaiting, and cheering on my Falcons!!!! I actually have more fun outside than in the Dome, better and cheaper food and drinks, the crowds are always a blast too!

Three bucks for a Natty Light? That MUST be an overpriced yuppie hangout…………
