Pre-Thanksgiving filming updates

Happy Thanksgiving Eve. Here’s one final roundup of what’s filming where. Afterward, see ya Monday.

“Last Vegas.” Stars Michael Douglas, Kevin Kline, Robert DeNiro et al. Has been filming in the Edgewood area.

“Ride Along,” Stars Ice Cube, Kevin Hart. Has been filming downtown in various locations including the State Capitol, Underground Atlanta, Walton Street (and the Gold Room club on Piedmont before that). Note: this one features simulated gunfire. If you hear shots, no need to duck.

“Ten.” Stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Malin Åkerman, Sam Worthington, Joe Manganiello and Josh Holloway. Also has been filming downtown, after some shots in Social Circle.

“Catching Fire.” Stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson et al. The “Hunger Games” sequel has about wrapped up after filming at the Atlanta History Center’s Swan House, the Goat Farm Arts Center, the Georgia World Congress Center and other locations. (J-Law’s now out on the publicity circuit for her new movie “Silver Linings Playbook,” so it’s a good bet that the main action scenes are good and done.) They’re doing some last-minute work with extras and stand-ins.

“Anna Nicole Smith.” Stars Agnes Bruckner. This Lifetime movie has wrapped after filming at Chops, NY Prime, the Atlanta Motor Speedway and other locations. I’ll let you know when this one is scheduled to air.

“Second Generation Wayans.” Stars .. the Wayans. Filming for this BET show also has wrapped.

“The Game.” This BET show is in production at Screen Gems Studios at the moment.

“The Kandi Factory.” This Bravo spin-off spawned from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” films at Opera nightclub on Dec. 3, 10 and 17 at 6 p.m. It stars Kandi Burruss as you probably guessed.

Also, some new reality show has been filming in Roswell. Not sure which one (after a while they all run together in my head). Maybe this new “Big and Rich Atlanta” gem. I was amused to see an extras casting call go out for a few scenes though. Extras cast for a “reality” show. Absorb that for a a moment.

Alright, Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful to live in a fun town full of exciting things to write about and for all of you who read this blog!

Jennifer

What is filming at Grady High School this week? They had the school opened up and production trucks in the parking lot.
