Happy holiday week. Get ready to cram a whole week’s work into about two and a half days! Here’s a recap of recent Atlanta star sightings to help your quick work week fly by even faster.

The “Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire” is about ready to wrap up after a few months of filming. Perhaps to celebrate, actor Woody Harrelson made a pilgrimage to the Clermont Lounge on Saturday night. Previously both he and lead actress Jennifer Lawrence stopped by the Georgia Aquarium.

The cast of “Last Vegas” is here now. Tipsters reported spotting Morgan Freeman at the Buckhead Maggiano’s and Michael Douglas at the Buckhead Ritz-Carlton, both on Friday night. Freeman was spotted at Pricci Thursday night.

Woody Harrelson and his new friend.

“Ten” is filming here too. Lead actor Arnold Schwarznegger was spotted at Cucina Asellina and his co-star Joe Manganiello and pals were at STK next door last week.

“Vampire Diaries” films in metro Atlanta; actor Ian Somerhalder stopped by Parish on Thursday. His colleague Nina Dobrev was spotted under the big tent at Atlantic Station recently, checking out the new Cirque du Soleil show “Totem.”

Soap star Susan Lucci, on tour to promote her book, dined at Veni Vidi Vici on Friday night.

Atlanta Hawks player Josh Smith dined at Davio’s on Saturday night. In related news, actor Kevin Hart’s here filming “Ride Along” with Ice Cube and has been spotted cheering on the Hawks during his downtime.

And yet here you both are, commenting on it. I bet these posts are some of the AJC’s most popular.

I haven’t gotten any intel on Lenny Kravitz – I will keep my ear to the ground and see what I can find out!

If you don’t care why are you reading it??

Newspapers and magazines in states across the nation engage their citizens about gay marriage, legalizing marijuana, and new scientific discoveries. Meanwhile in Georgia, the AJC dedicates an entire column to which actors are in town for a taxpayer-subsidized movie. How sad.

Hi Cindy, if you’re interested in reading news stories you might try searching under the “news” links on ajc.com, rather than clicking on the entertainment column.

Here’s a recent article about states that voted on gay marriage:
http://www.ajc.com/ap/ap/social-issues/maine-votes-in-favor-of-legalizing-gay-marriage/nSy7Q/

Here’s a recent article about legislation to legalize marijuana
http://www.ajc.com/news/ap/crime/iowa-lawmakers-preparing-marijuana-legislation/nS9gw/

Here’s a recent article about scientists:
http://www.ajc.com/ap/ap/top-news/us-computer-graphics-scientist-wins-kyoto-prize/nS3mt/

Hope that helps,

If you want hard hitting news, stick to the main AJC page. This isn’t it. That isn’t changing. Get over it.

Hey what is filming around CNN center. There has been lots of gunfire sounds today and movie trailers.

With all the great restaurants in Atlanta the “stars” seem to dine at old retreads all the time – for example, Sotto Sotto is 100x better than Pricci or Veni Vidi Vici.

I like the buzz its better than reading about politics all politics does is divide people this is more relaxing hearing about were celebrities are filming .

Smitty – the movie “Ride Along” with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart has been filming downtown. The APD sent out an alert a while ago saying there would be simulated gunfire as part of the movie. Fear not!

I think it’s a matter of convenience and proximity. I get a ton of star sightings from South City Kitchen Midtown and VVV, both of which are very close to the celeb-friendly Four Seasons and lots from NY Prime and Davio’s, which are very close to equally celeb-friendly Buckhead Ritz-Carlton, for example. (Not to disparage any of those restaurants!)

Is something being filmed at Reign nightclub on Peachtree? All the windows are covered up and there’s a bunch of trucks out back.

I originally counted myself among the “nobody cares” contingent, but then I saw Jennifer’s response to Cindy and I was won over. Perfect response. Factual, gets the point across, yet oozes with sarcasm. Love it.

These blogs aren’t my thing. I don’t see the point of keeping up with celebrities. But other people love them. So, why don’t we just let Jennifer do her job and serve the interests of a lot of people without being so rude about it. I’m a sports guy, and I don’t see people posting on there that nobody cares about Georgia’s chances in the national title, even though–when you get down to the broad scheme of things–it affects our lives equally to where Ben Affleck just ate his last sandwich.

Sorry about that. Since your initial post started “Newspapers and magazines in states across the nation …” I didn’t realize you were interested in stories about Georgia. A good place for that content would be the tab for “State News.” Here is the link: http://www.ajc.com/s/news/local/
