It’s almost time for the 10th annual Toy Party. It will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 at The America’s Mart Building 3 downtown.

If you’re not able to attend but would still like to participate you can make a donation here.

If you are able to attend, there’s a new premium VIP ticket. For $250 you’l have access to the super deluxe open bar/hors d’oeuvres area. The $50 VIP ticket affords you access to designated bars and wait staff. Here is the link for more information or to buy tickets.

Since 2003 the seasonal event has provided more than 35,000 toys and gift cards, making a Christmas celebration possible for children served by a number of area organizations. Here is a link to the list of this year’s beneficiaries.

The Toy party is organized by For The Kid In All Of Us, which also collects school supplies and gift cards during its summertime Backpack in the Park drive.

For the Kid in All of Us board member Eric Waldron of the Renaissance Hotel hosted the event.

Here’s some background information on the group from its web site:

“For the Kid in All of Us was founded in 2003 by a group of friends seeking to make a difference in their local community. Recognizing the staggering number of underprivileged children in the Atlanta area and in Georgia, the group sought not only to raise awareness of the growing problem, but also to lessen the struggles of families, caregivers and children during the winter holiday season.

What initially resulted from their vision and efforts was The Toy Party, an annual toy drive event where gays, lesbians, and the gay-friendly community in Atlanta could come together to support a cause that affects Georgia’s needy and underprivileged children. In 2006, For the Kid in All of Us expanded its scope and added a second annual event, Backpack in the Park, a back-to-school benefit to collect backpacks and school supplies.

For the Kid in All of Us is 100% volunteer organization. Incorporated in the State of Georgia, the organization is recognized by the US Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit, public charity under Section 501(c)(3).”
