President Barack Obama and presidential hopeful Mitt Romney are teaming up to benefit an Atlanta organization called Skyland Trail.
Well, sort of. Kind of. Okay, not at all. But their cardboard cutouts sure do look happy to be on board.
The Capitol Steps, a politically inspired comedy troupe that takes aim at officials of every stripe, will perform at the 15th annual Benefits of Laughter fundraiser, planned for Oct. 17 at the St. Regis hotel in Buckhead.
The event will aid Skyland Trail, which serves adults with mental illness, and the president will attend – Skyland Trail president Beth Finnerty, that is.
Patron committee co-chairs Betsy West and Amy Kenny hosted a recent luncheon at Skyland Trail to thank committee members and event co-chairs Robin Howell and Mary Johnson.
A patron party will be held to thank Skyland Trail sponsors and donors on Sept. 20 at the home of Helen and Ray Weeks. Patron committee members are Elizabeth Willett, Jana Simmons, Beth Park, Kristin Howard, Caroline Tucker, Meg Heyer, Leigh Connolly, Lorri McClain, Ashley Preisinger, Andrea Montag, Hope Sheft, Sandra Pierson and Emily McIntyre.
