Tameka “Tiny” Cottle gets own VH1 show

VH1

VH1

Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, who with husband T.I. shares her life with reality show viewers on “The Family Hustle,” will soon reveal whatever she may have been holding back. The entertainer is now getting ready for a new VH1 show of her own, called “Tiny Tonight.”

This blog post on VH1 has full details.

“I’ve been wanting to do a late night talk show with my homegirls, my friends, for a while now,” Tiny told VH1, which interviewed her about the new show that the channel will air. “So I’ve got my new show, it’s called Tiny Tonight, it’s gonna be…the first late night talk show on VH1.”

Details, such as when the show premieres and will air, are being worked out.

The couple manages to make headlines, both with T.I.’s past legal woes and by showing up here and there. Sometimes the two collide, like the time a couple of years ago when they attended a comedy club performance that turned into a riff on T.I.’s past encounters with law enforcement.

That’s all in the past now, and the two now focus on the family in their show.

“I love my career,” the rapper also known as Clifford Harris told my colleague Rodney Ho in an interview. “But I love my family more.”

I find it interesting that comments are allowed for this post, but not for “Atlanta’s *real* real housewives chair Atlanta Botanical Garden ball”. This isn’t the first time that I’ve noticed this either.

I second that Ms.MJ. AJC loves to open the comments up for stuff that they know will draw negative attention. They are pretty predictable. Somebody calls Tiny a ratchet thug and blames this show on Obama in 5,4,3,2…..

Commenting should be open on all the items posted recently. It automatically shuts off after either 7 or 10 days I think so if you are wanting to comment on a blog older than that you may find it is shut. You can always email me if you would like to comment on an older blog and I will add it for you. – Jennifer

As the name states, I am Not A Racist, however, I truly think Atlanta has more than it’s share of Blacks that live in Atlanta portraying themselves badly. This is no offense to Tameka Cottle and her family, I actually watched a few episodes of her and her husband’s show and enjoyed it.

I actually like The Family Hustle. I might have to check this show out. There is just something about that couple that makes me happy. You can tell they have real love for each other and their families. And every guy should take notes on how T.I. treats her (at least from what we see on tv!) ;)

I really liked the The Family Hustle, but Tameka doesn’t have the best public speaking skills so we will see how a talk show goes. Happy for her though and will definetely check it out.

Just following up from my earlier comment….I have now noticed that you can post on the story regarding the “real” housewives. That post is dated with today’s date so unless the date was updated to today, I’m missing something. Just stating the obvious.

I am not a fan but good for her and her family. With that being said, it is common knowledge that Tiny’s grammar is rather bad. What talk show have you ever seen where the host speaks as poorly as she does? VH1 is all about the money and the ratings and could care less about how they portray black women. There are numerous positive women of color, but no one wants to see positivity, everyone wants to see drama & BS. When my people stop supporting negativity, we will be better off & portrayed in a better light.

I am 62 years old and I have watched Tiny and TI many times.

I love TI’s music and Tiny is a wonderful wife and mother.

None of us are perfect.

These two people are doing what they love to do.

That is entertain and take care of their families.

Tiny and TI KEEP DOING WHAT YOU LOVE AND KEEP LOVING

EACH OTHER AND YOUR FAMILY.

It’s bad enough that the ASO wont invite a couple of high school corus groups to join them because they dont resemble the “diversity” of Atlanta. This city has gone from white to black, and that really sucks. Anything to do with “african americans” that live in Atlanta is just another nail in this cities coffin.

Are you all serious! I’m an articulate, educated African. American women. However, that makes me no better than Tiny! Being educated should also mean having an open mind Black people stop allowing the opinions of others dictate who should do what in enertainment! Whites support their own Hispanics support their own and trust me they are not all educated. Stick to the facts. They are a married couple raising a family and sticking together through thick and thin. To do that inthis day and time is difficult enough! Also, look at Tiny ’s character she is a wonderful person. Look deeper than flesh look at their character that’s what matters most!

When someone is telecast who speaks poor english or behaves badly, it no more reflects poorly on people in general than it does when someone who has a marvelous command of the King’s English and is telecast denies the existance of the former group.

I wish people would simply realize that what you see on TV is not about “You” unless it is literally about “You.” And if you can’t relate to or be entertained by a show, then…

Go Falcons!!!

There are plenty of articulate, talented African American TV personalities and potential hosts in Atlanta and elsewhere, with many of them young and in tune with the VH1 demographic (whatever that is). It is not a racist comment to express disappointment when the media selects people who are not articulate (yes, and who have glorified violence, TI) to represent their view of the black population. When others criticize, it’s always racist, of course. If this is the role model VH1 wants to push, then don’t complain about African Americans not getting job opportunities that are more suited to folks who communicate and dress well. Find a few Spelman women and Morehouse men to be your role models.

Why is everybody hating on Tiny….Obviously she is a very bright business woman to be able to open her own nail salon….. (is it open??? I don’t live in ATL…) and to not only negotiate 2 t.v. reality shows, but now her own talk show….which those of us who follow her shows now she has talked about wanting a talk show….Oh yes…then there is the OMG Girls….who cares what she looks like obviously T.I thinks she’s beautiful….but if she has a decent show with interesting topics that could make a good lasting impression on both women and girls today of all races that’s all that matters…Congratulations Tiny….I as a white female will be watching…

Talk show??? wow..really. Ok, I’m not trying to be funny here, but her “good English” is worse than a
foreigner’s “bad English”. It stinks. I have come across her show a few times and scringe…..eveytime she opens that mouth. This is gonna go south …..fast. ;-/

The true reason why she gets a talk show is because VH-1 is on an active campaign to make black folks look stupid and ignorant…….we all know good as well that Tiny shouldn’t have NO dawg on top show…..GOD BLESS HER, but I am not convince that being a TV show host is what she was called to do……..despite my opinion, I still want to wish Tiny all of the success in her new venture with VH-1…..get paid mami !!!

If the show was about education, graduatiing from college, building your credit, voting in the coming election and being a decent responsible human being, it would never make the light of day. But, you see what constantly gets airtime right?

I’m not a big fan of reality shows period, but give Tiny a break, i don’t see nothing wrong with a black woman trying to do what any of you would love to do. It’s not like she needs the money, they set money wise. Just give her a chance and stop the damn hating. It’s a talk show, it’s not like she out fighting and degrading herself like RHOA or LAHA shows. I don’t know Tiny personally, but what do her looks have to do with your support. Tiny i support your efforts.

@KimZ’spackage, set is a loose term used for anyones comfort level. If you make 50k in your mind you maybe set to your own comfort level. Some people are set different ways, money, love, life, job etc. Yes alot of Black people and White people live like they are set, but that’s personal if you ask me. I feel i’m set to my own personal comfort level. Being broke after being rich is just poor management of money.
