Holy Cow! Chick-fil-A fans post photos of jam-packed restaurants

Chick-fil-A fans are definitely eating mor chicken today to observe “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.”

A scan of social media sites tuned up a raft of photos indicating huge crowds. Here’s a sample:

"Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day is a huge success in Marietta, Ga!" posted Johnson Ferry Baptist Church web developer Kurt Meredith with this photo. It was taken at the restaurant near the church.

@ Brad Davis……Do not lump all liberals with this move. I may be a liberal, but I do believe in the freedom to express yourself. I expressed myself by enjoying a 6-count chicken nuggets meal along with some lemonade.

I support Chick-Fil-A and I’m a Blackman, am I a RedNeck biggot too?? No I don’t support you challenging the Freedom To Speak because it doesn’t line up with your view and don’t even try and compare my families and ancestors fight for HUMAN RIGHTS with a fight for a SEXUAL FETISH. What sexually arouses you is your own fetish. What you do sexually is YOUR CHOICE unless you were raped. I’m Black and I can’t change my skin to be Asian or Indian but who I have sex with IS my choice.

BTW I realize that not ALL liberals behave in the same fashion as Progressive Humanist. But so many DO somehow fail to understand that thoughts, opinions, etc. do constitute hatred. Your opinions are the only ones that count. There is a reason that 32 states agree with traditional marriage…

I have a question for people here. The crux of the argument that opponents of gay marriage seems to be that two men or two women are incapable of conceiving children. I am a heterosexual male in a heterosexual marriage and my wife and I are not parents and will not be having children. Are we part of the problem and are we a threat to “traditional marriage”?

Well, what is the point then Chris? Because that’s all I hear from you Jesus-worshiping buffoons: “protect the family”. I don’t hear any of you griping about the “damage” to the “traditional family” caused by the incredibly high divorce rate amongst straight couples. Oh wait, logic doesn’t really click with Southerners…..my mistake.

I see the monkey worshipers have had a couple days to vent and this blog is back up so I’ll leave a few choice comments.

T-bone: You might not be a redneck, but you are a bigot. If you think that homosexuality is a choice then you’re one of the eneducated masses I described a few days ago. Tell me, when did you have sexual relations with a man and then decide it wasn’t for you?

Jim,

Since you have made yourself the arbiter of what a “real” professor is, why don’t you enlighten me as to what the criteria are? Someone who teaches at a university? Who holds an EdD? A PhD from a research university? Tenured or tenure track? Research? Scientific publications? Academic presentations? Teaches at the graduate level? I’d like to know.

And since you’re the self-proclaimed arbiter, let me hear your academic qualifications. I’m sure they must be amazing since you wield such immense academic influence. Curiously, you don’t seem to understand the difference between a national research university and a diploma mill. Hmmm.

I’m wondering if either you or Radar could even get accepted where I work.

@Progressive Humanist, how many people of the opposite sex have you been with and decided that it wasn’t for you? Are you able to speak without spewing the hate that you say “Christians” spew? It astounds me how homosexuals can have what they think is the correct view or opinion and others “Christians” are wrong! WOW! Everybody that is in support of traditional marriage/families, please lets continue to speak out and stand up like what happened on August 1st. Stop letting homosexuals stand at the forefront and intimidate people who don’t share their opinion.

Just wondering,

Sorry, I’m not interested in your cult. It’s clear we evolved (although some of the bloggers on here apparently are more primitive homo sapien varieties). You should have learned this during biology 101. There’s no evidence for your hypothesis that we were “thought” into existence by an invisible magical primate. That’s just silly. You can worship a monkey if you want to, but to suggest that the fact we’re here is evidence for that magic monkey has the same validity as saying that because we’re here it’s evidence that the universe was farted out the rear end of a purple unicorn. They both have the same amount of support. You’re the one making the fantastic claim about the magic primate so the burden is on you to show some evidence. Do you have a testable hypothesis? Do you have any evidence on who created this first magic monkey or how he created energy and matter? Or do you just believe silly stories that were passed down to you and that you’ve never grown out of?

I am heterosexual and have been married for more than 10 years. I didn’t decide to be heterosexual, which is exactly the point, but I guess that flew over your head. Our sexual urges are biological and are not chosen by us. There is strong scientific evidence for this. It also happens to be the position of the American Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Medical Association. But I guess you know more than all those silly doctors.

If you are truly in a doc program I’m thinking it must be an EdD (one of those fake docs). If you don’t have to do a dissertation then it certainly isn’t a rigorous program. I hope you planned your finances well because a “doctorate” like that is going to be nothing but a financial albatross around your neck for the rest of your life and it won’t get you a decent job. However, what I object to, is the willingness and desire of so-called conservatives to dictate whom I may share my life with, and what I do in the privacy of my own home. You so called-conservatives love to shove your views down my throat.

I recognize they have every right to do what they want to do. ” – This is funny because this whole thing is about them being denied their right to marry whomever they choose and the people that support denying them that right. Why do you and the “moral majority” get to decide which rights a certain group is allowed to have or not have.

Look, you can couch this argument in Freedom of Speech, even Family Values (whatever the heck that means), etc et al, but most people attending this ’stuff your face’ event did so out of nothing other than disgust (hatred even) for a minority that they nothing about. These reactions are centuries old but try as some might, society progresses, whether you like it or not. Gay rights will evolve and guess what, there’ll be another fight then and CFA will be nothing other than a foot-note in a history chapter alongside American notables such as Joe McCarthy and Father Coughlin.
And here’s another forecast – Scaremongering won’t change one thing about moving forward. The Chicken Lickin’ Sky’s Falling Down drum beat will just be that…a drum beat. Society won’t collapse because two guys/gals got hitched. The US isn’t the center of the universe and gay rights have just pushed forward in other civilized countries with no major societal implosion.
The rant isn’t to convert anybody’s opinion, but for God’s sakes find something worth fighting for, where you can leave a positive footprint for your grandkids, where you’ll be part of something more than a foot-note! Combating Poverty is always a good start where you’re not going to polarize your family/friends/community and its a stance people will be proud of you for!!!!!!!

We all had left wing professors in College.Don’t you remember writing papers to idiots like ProHum? You had to write them with a left wing slant to secure a decent grade? I remember a History professor who loved FDR. We all knew FDR is the route cause for our modern day ills. We had to write our papers with beaming thoughts on the New Deal, well knowing that is started the decline of American civilization. We knew that WW2 got us out of the depression instead of stupid FDR Gov’t spending!

Well Dave, then education clearly failed you. If you actually had been any good or had the ability to argue you would have put it out there, with a solid, backed up argument as to why you disagreed with your professor and if you were any good, you’d have passed (with flying colors). If, however, you continue to believe that this was a fruitless argument then you went to a B rate school, which supports the argument that you didn’t have the capacity to get a decent education in the first place. I hate to say it but you probably wasted that money on an education, in hindsight. I’m sorry!

Just Wondering- I didn’t say an EdD was a redneck degree. I said it was a fake degree (unless you went to Harvard, which only has EdDs in education, not PhDs, and I’d bet both of my houses you didn’t go to Harvard). An EdD is a degree that lazy educators get because they don’t have it in them to get a PhD. The fact that you don’t understand evolution is evidence to me that that framed piece of paper on your wall is not a legitimate degree and you simply purchased a diploma, which is the case with most EdDs.

If you or any other educator ever told my child in the confines of a public school that evolution, a scientific fact, did not happen I can guarantee you wouldn’t be working there long. I’d have my lawyer in the superintendent’s office the next day and you’d be in front of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in a matter of weeks. You wouldn’t have that T-7 for very long, and it’s clear you shouldn’t have had it in the first place. This is exactly why states are considering the pay for performance model- to weed out unqualified educators like yourself who purchased MEd’s, Specialist’s, and fake EdDs. Actually, I would relish the chance to have the GPSC yank your certificate. We need to trim the fat and get unqualified teachers and over bloated salaries off the books.

The fact that you are bashing people without even knowing who they are shows how little of a man you are. I worked hard to get my degrees and DO deserve them. Harvard is NOT the only school exists. There are many of schools that offer a great education.
FORTUNATELY I work in a private sector so I have a chance to teach TRUTH. I meet with students in public schools every day though to tell them the truth. At no point did you even answer my questions. You still at NO point have answered any of my questions. You don’t embrace your thoughts you just state them and have no ability to back them up. I feel for you that you think that once life is done there is nothing left. Disprove Christianity first…

Progressive Humanist

August 4th, 2012

I’m sure you think you earned your “degrees” and that they have some value. I would disagree. Evolution is part of the 9th grade science curriculum of the state of Georgia. If you can’t pass a 9th grade end of course test, then that tells me something about the quality of your “education”. It also tells me you’re not qualified to be anywhere near students. And if you somehow missed it in high school you should have learned about evolution in biology 101 your freshman year of college, but I guess that didn’t happen either. So I must conclude your “EdD” is not even worth a high school diploma since you don’t possess the knowledge of a high school graduate.

Had you completed a legitimate doctoral program, you would understand how the scientific method works. If you make a fantastic claim (your magic monkey creating the universe) it is your responsibility to provide evidence for it through prediction and a measurable, testable hypothesis. I cannot disprove that there are leprechauns or magic fairies, nor can you. But if you claim there are leprechauns, fairies, Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, or pink unicorns on Venus (or an invisible magic monkey [your god]) it’s not up to me to disprove that claim; it’s up to you to provide empirical evidence for it.

There is, however, a mountain of empirical evidence for natural selection, in the fossil records, in geological records, in genetic records. We actually have more tangible evidence about how evolution works than we do for the Theory of Gravitation because we’re still figuring out exactly how gravity works.

And you are apparently unaware that if you are telling students your supposed “truth” (actually a bold faced lie), you are committing an illegal act. In 2005 in Dover, Pennsylvania, a federal circuit court ruled that it was unconstitutional to teach intelligent design in a public school setting because it was inherently religious and violated the separation of church and state. What you’re doing goes beyond even that so if I could find out who you are I would take legal action against you.

Because you lack such basic scientific knowledge I must conclude that your supposed doctorate is just another fake one and that you do not have the knowledge of qualifications to be around even the youngest students. You are also breaking federal law regularly, apparently. You use your fake degree to pretend you have some measure of credibility, then you attempt to indoctrinate students into your cult. Indoctrination, a term you probably don’t understand either, is when someone attempts to convince other people of the infallible “truth” of some issue in the absence of any evidence, like if someone tried to convince another person that he would get 72 virgins in heaven if he martyred himself or if you tried to convince a child that the universe was created by a magic monkey.

So congratulations. You’re a charlatan, a criminal, and your goal is to indoctrinate children into a cult. It doesn’t get much worse than that.

It’s interesting that you assume to know me by illustrating my preoccupation with snakes and tongues without solid evidence supporting those conclusions. It makes me wonder about the alleged science enthusiast you presume to be. Apparently you have no need for solid evidence to draw conclusions. And how illogical would it be to assume that the same God who created this universe and ‘science’ is incapable of circumventing it? Does the axe have power over he who swings it? Your retorts are lies by exception- while you proclaim to know the truth, and legitimately claim pieces here and there, your confessed conclusions are misrepresented by you inferring they’re all inclusive, as if you sit on the top and see all. I admit, I don’t know where you’re coming from, (something I wont anticipate you reciprocating) but you seem like the child playing king of the hill. You appear angry that God dare claim the top belongs to Him. It also seems likely that if you were as confident as you esteem yourself to be, you wouldn’t feel the need to attack others so vehemently with such anger and insult. To you, it would simply be… OK, worship your make believe monkey God, I don’t really care. But I can see something deeper going on here. You are not able to do so. Truly every time you open your mouth you’re actually screaming about other issues, deeper issues, which trouble you greatly inside. It couldn’t be more obvious to me and I’m sure others as well that this is so. Now I do understand having a type of ‘contempt’ for those to profess such alliances with a God and clearly illustrate by their actions that they are incapable of drawing logical conclusions on much of anything. And this behavior is contrary to what should be- the bible is a whole lot more complicated than most people have the slightest clue about. And it warns ‘be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap’. So you seem to blaming God (even though you scream in your heart- there is no God) for the foolishness of man. I don’t know, I’m just guessing… but I predict your retort is going to illustrate how well you know all about me.

Progressive Humanist

You and others seem to misinterpret derision for anger. I am mocking your foolish beliefs. Your belief system is essentially the same as Cro-Magnon, the simplest humans who could barely use tools. But yours is willful ignorance because you have access to real knowledge, but you choose to adhere to nonsensical and immoral myths. That’s fine, but I will continue to mock you for your ignorance.

I do like how you’re trying to play make believe psychologist, though. Very amusing. Since your knowledge of the natural world is at about a second grade level, or at the level of the most primitive homo sapiens, your knowledge of the mind is that much less. It’s like being psychoanalyzed by a chimpanzee. Hilarious.

Logical conclusions are drawn through the scientific method. A brainwashed cult member like yourself is by definition incapable of applying logic, so you’re less qualified to critique cognitive processes than just about any living adult.

The bible is certainly complicated, but not because it’s divine. It’s complicated because it’s a collection of nonsense cobbled together by a variety of delusional charlatans. It contradicts itself, is factually inaccurate, and is a model of hypocrisy in that it presents itself as a pillar of morality when in fact is one of the most immoral works of fiction ever written, right up there with Mein Kampf.

And no, I’m not blaming god, something that doesn’t exist, any more than I’m blaming Zeus or the Loch Ness monster. I’m blaming you for your ignorance. It’s all you, buddy. It didn’t have to be that way. I urge you to conduct a self intervention and do something more productive with your life. Do something that will help human progress instead of continuing to spread ignorance. It’s not too late for you to make a positive change. There’s a real world out there, one beyond the myths, that’s begging for real solutions to real problems. I hope you can emerge from your fog.
