Rooting for CFA- At 7:59 you suggested that the owner of the hardware store did everything by himself. So he didn’t get any hardware shipments on the roads built and maintained with tax payer money? Does he sleep at the store every night to protect his business with a baseball bat because the cops (supported by tax dollars) won’t keep the store from being looted? Did the owner ever go to public school to learn to add and subtract (keep the books), to be able to read (to order goods), or to write? Are you sure none of his employees went to public schools? It is very unlikely that this day was about Christians expressing their beliefs as much as it was Americans having a fit and feeling like they were fighting for freedom. I have gay friends, close ones AND I’m a Christian and I agree with the CEO of Chic Fil A having the right to his opinion and to running his private company however he wants. If there is a private company with a CEO who expresses an opinion I don’t happen to like, I’ll not purchase from that company. It’’s that simple. I don’t have to make it into a circus and FORCE him to change his opinion for me. That is the definition of a free country. Live and let live. That is what we believe in this country and that is what everyone is so pissed about.

this is so pointless. In 20 years Gay Marriage will be legal in most if not all States. A demographic shift is occurring and younger generations have no problem with same sex marriage. There used to be people opposed to interracial marriage – but they’ve grown old and died out and been replaced by younger people who don’t care. same thing will happen here.

afenste, There is no such thing as good and evil. They are both human constructs that we thought up, just like god. Is it evil for a lion to kill and zebra or for a snake to kill a rat? The argument that there is no morality without god is a childish one that has been debunked over and over again. All societies have laws against murder, theft, etc, regardless of whether they are polytheistic, monotheistic, pagans, nature worshipers, etc. because rules against murder, rape, theft, incest make societies work better. And recent studies have shown atheists to be more moral than religious people.

I don’t think you know what relativism means because if I were a relativist I would respect your culture and religious belief as being a valued part of your society. I do not respect your culture or religious belief. I do not respect a culture based on lies and ignorance. I do not respect a religion that preaches hate, that gives advice on slavery and killing ones children, one that is so inherently misguided and whose followers are so immoral. And contrary to your suggestion, I view Islam and Judaism the same way, because they are equally fictitious and their ideals are equally reprehensible.

Kramer-Those who are opposed to gay marriage are almost universally opposed to it on religious grounds. And religious people lack the education they should have. If they had a better education they wouldn’t believe that a magic primate snapped his fingers and made the universe appear simply by the powers of mental telepathy.
