I donated $20 to The Trevor Project.
For me, It’s not about Dan Cathy saying “Gosh, gays are icky!”
It’s about Chick-fil-A, as a business, giving money from its profits directly to organizations like Focus on the Family, which lobbies to keep discrimination part of our legal code, and Exodus International, which in the past has tried to “cure” queer folk. If you eat at Chick-fil-A, you are paying for *that*.
I have friends who are LGBT, and I wish everyone could know the real people in real families with real kids who are hurt by this legalized discrimination.

Brilliant move by Mr. Cathy: Reignite controversy based on your religious views. Wait for FOX to predictably make this a cultural war issues. Wait for the sheep to flock to your stores in support. Using religion to make money… The American way.

Shannon wake up! This is why people are going in droves to Chick-Fil-A. They do believe in what Dan Cathy and apparently alot of other Americans believe in. How are your queer friends hurt by this perceived discrimination? They can still be together and love(?) each other. Nobody is telling them they can’t do that. The hypocrisy of you people astounds me. If some restaurant can out in support of gays and the conservative crowd boycotted that restaurant, you would be upset about that too. Why can’t the gay community be more diverse like they expect everyone else to be?
Terry, you are a fool sir(?)! If he was doing it for the money he could have done anytime before now. Hell, if it was for the money all he would have to do is open on Sundays!

Listen, I couldn’t care less about what people do with there own lives. The simple fact is that this is a freedom of speech issue. Those are his views. He just happens to own a company that is worth billions. Also, he is in the current majority. The issue would have died, if they would have let it go, but gay people everywhere did something incredibly stupid. They picked a fight. It’s a southern based restuarant. How open minded did you think they would be? Let it die, your only hurting your cause. 21st rule. If the media isn’t on your side…… don’t pick the fight

ONCE AGAIN…THERE IS NO DISCRIMINATION. This is a matter of freedom of speech. NO ONE WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. So, my suggestion is, if you don’t want your freedoms protected, then don’t do business with CFA. You people are taking this to the extreme. You are trying to make it something it’s not.

Mr. Cathy never “spoke out” on anything – a reporter asked him a question about his personal beliefs and he answered truthfully. There was no story, no press release, nothing except what the biased liberal media picked up and ran with, creating controversy out of something that everyone in this nation is still entitled to, their opinion. Every person with the least bit of intelligence knows that Chick Fil A is a business run on Christian principles so this is not news. Show some tolerance of Christian beliefs since you are all about tolerating anything and everything.

@ Terry – if you think this was some scheme put on by CFA to drum up business, you are sorely mistaken. It was the liberal media who started all of this several months ago by slamming CFA for donating food to a marriage enrichment weekend – a weekend designed only for traditional marriages. CFA did not promote what they did – the liberal media made a big deal out of it. And now it’s the liberal media again making a big deal out of CFA’s right to put their profits where they want to. Maybe YOU should try being tolerant, just like the LGBT community screams and demands “tolerance” from anyone who disagrees with them.

Who do you work for? Maybe the majority should boycott your employer since they pay you a salary and you choose to donate to pro-gay causes that promote perversity and acceptance of queer (your word – not mine) lifestyle.
Guess what – the silent majority won’t do that because they recognize your right to do whatever you want with your money. The silent majority is TOLERANT of you and your views. Maybe you should try returning the favor???

Don – you are an idiot. Any person, business or entity that promotes hate in our world should never be supported. But unfortunately, ignorance and bigotry abounds! My family will never eat at Chic Fil A again. And what Moses said had nothing to do with her being racist – ignorant, yes, racist? Who knows! But being at a Chic Fil A today speaks volumes about the general lack of acceptance and understanding that it is possible – and even OK – for another human being be different than you. And they are all ok! I have marched against the KKK but I sure as heck am not going to march into a CFA just to let a group of people know that I hate them. Gay people do not have a choice – ignorance is surely a choice.

Chick fil a is a private business that gives it’s profits (the owners profits) to the organization that supports his personal beliefs. Where does the LBGT agenda groups or any other group have a right to scream discrimination? Can I no longer vote republican or libretarian because it hurts someones feelings based on their views?
People have made some eloquently stated foolish comments already. It’s funny how they don’t recognize the only group calling for a direct violation of someones rights under the law.

@ CS – Please show me what CFA said that is “hatred”. I understand that their views may not align with yours – but calling it hatred is a serious charge. Do you have any evidence or specific quotes, or did you just get your feelings hurt and now you’re calling names because someone dares to disagree with you?
CFA does not discriminate against hiring, serving, or promoting LGBT’s. CFA supports traditional marriage and does not happen to think gay marriage aligns with their values. Is THAT hatred, in your opinion?

I know there are gays, LGBT’s, etc out there. They have a right to do whatever they want to do. I don’t hate them. I recognize they have every right to do what they want to do. YOU seem to have a problem with the majority’s right to support CFA for standing up for traditional values, though. Are you a bigot? Do you have a problem with tolerating views other than your own? CFA simply said what they believe in, and you and those on your side SCREAM of hatred, bigotry, intolerance, and a lack of acceptance. Where’s YOUR tolerance? Where’s YOUR acceptance of those whose beliefs differ from yours?

True story. I was speaking to a conservative lezbo friend (thats what she calls herself, so chill). She said a few days ago she drove by a CFA and noticed some protesters. So, she went home and made a sign that said “I’M GAY AND I LOVE CHICK-FIL-A!’” and went back to the same CFA. She said after about 30 minutes there with her sign the manager came out with a sandwich, fries, and a huge lemonade. He talked to her a few minutes then shook hands and hugged her and went back inside. Then came back to check on her twice over the next two hours. Damn hate-filled Chick-fil-a folks!

God lover- No, I think you don’t understand the meaning of the word “ignorant”. It has nothing to do with opinions, which are like @$%holes because everyone has one. Ignorance would suggest a lack of education, and anyone who believes in the 3,000 year old myths of delusional sheep herders lacks the education to be called anything other than ignorant. And if you want laws to restrict the behavior of other people (gay people) who don’t buy into your myths, then you’re immoral to boot. As a matter of fact, your reprehensible book is the main source of immorality in this country.
