Hammerin’ Hank Aaron visited the set of “42,” the movie about Jackie Robinson, the other day.
Here’s a photo of the legendary Atlanta Braves great visiting with Chadwick Boseman, who portrays Robinson in Brian Helgeland’s film.
And here’s a gallery of photos of Aaron, who became baseball’s all-time homerun king in 1974.
“42″ is set during Robinson’s 1947 rookie season with the Brooklyn Dodgers, during which he broke Major League Baseball’s color line.
The movie wraps this week after some shooting in Atlanta including a scene at the Biltmore in Midtown. The hotel will portray the 1940s era Waldorf Astoria. Aaron visited during interior filming at Atlanta Film Studios Paulding County.
The movie, which also stars Harrison Ford as MLB executive Branch Rickey, filmed in Macon, Birmingham and Chattanooga before heading to Atlanta. Ford’s done with his part of the movie but was spotted at a number of Atlanta restaurants while in town. Details here.

Should be a good movie. I’ve read a lot about Jackie Robinson and it’s a remarkable story. Hank Aaron’s is not bad either.

Looking forward to this movie. The young man looks a lot like Robinson at that stage of his career also.
