Drummer Zachary Alford, who has toured with Bruce Springsteen, B-52s, David Bowie and Gwen Stefani, taught a master class at Camp Jam Atlanta, held recently at Oglethorpe University.
After a Q&A session, Alford picked up his sticks and did his thing, jamming out for the audience of future rock stars.
Camp Jam was founded by Jeff Carlisi, lead guitarist for .38 Special, and Dan Lipson, entrepreneur and guitarist for Vintage Red.
Artists featured at every Camp Jam session include musicians who have performed with Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Guns & Roses, Sheryl Crow, Survivor, The Fray, Rod Stewart, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The All-American Rejects, Don Henley, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and many others.
Camp Jam has been rocking Atlanta all summer long, starting with a session featuring Kareem “Jesus” Devlin, a guitarist who tours with Lady GaGa. Coming next are sessions with Peter Stroud, a guitarist for Sheryl Crow. For information on signing up your little rocker, see this web site.
