Video: President Obama at the Varsity!
Amanda Ozment came to Atlanta to visit her friend Bradley Loomis, and ended up running into President Barack Obama.
“As we’re finishing eating this gentleman comes by and says, ‘if you’d like to move to our lower seating area the president’s coming by.’ I’m like the president of the United States or the president of the Varsity?”
Turns out, President Barack Obama was on the way, and Ozment’s independent filmmaking career was launched.
Here’s the video she took with her phone:
The video quickly made her a Twitter sensation, and a number of media outlets asked if they could use the clip. She graciously tweeted approval for anyone who wanted to use it.
“I was like, I want to remember this so I pulled out my phone. I was thinking my friends would think this was interesting,” she said. “Before I knew it I’ve got 100 mentions. I was like, oh I guess this is newsworthy!”
After her chance encounter with the president, Ozment headed downtown and ran into “Extra” personality Mario Lopez jogging in Centennial Olympic Park. Then came … you guessed it, the presidential motorcade, ferrying Obama to his fundraising visit to the Westin Peachtree Plaza.
“I’m a good luck charm,” Ozment laughed.
A 27-year-old nanny, she describes herself as politically interested but not a huge partisan. But hey, who wouldn’t think it was cool to stumble into a presidential photo opp?
“It’s been kind of a wild and crazy weekend!” she said.

I ain’t “po” so I hate to let you down. I want to earn my wealth, not have it stolen from someone else so I can have everything I don’t deserve. You think Obama cares about you? Think about it from the other side. He doesn’t give a rat’s butt about you, me, or anyone else. He only cares about the Liberal agenda and gaining more control over our human rights and everything our forefathers fought to give us. Be as ignorant as you want, but the facts are there and all you have to do is read and it explains in black and white he will go down a the worst president this country has ever had. You can’t make these things up, you reap what you sew my friend. As soon as you stop thinking like an impossible Liberal you may understand why the economy still sucks and shows no signs of recovery. Oh, and gas dropping to $3.00 aren’t signs of recovery, especially when they were below $2.00 a gallon when Lord Obama took office.

Hey ATL guy – I thought you were a republican?? So when did the ’smaller government’ become responsible for finding all the lazy folks out of work a job? I got an idea, develop a skill and work hard. You talk about the poor as being a lazy group of folks looking for entitlements? No, the worse group is the white middle class who just lost their overpayed, unnecessary job and now isn’t willing to downgrade and flip burgers or mow grass. Those are the folks who are a drain on the system, not the truly destitute.

$600.00 of the conservatives money for a tax break… replaced toilets in my house with the $600 and the County rebate! Placed a Bush bumper sticker in the bottom so I could remember who did this for me!

Hope and Change……I think we all remember that slogan from back when he as elected and I have to say I am taking hold of my hope and change 3 years late. I for one have seen nothing change, except the national debt, which if we remember he said he would cut by half in the first 4 years (which he tripled not cut). Yes lets hear it….he couldnt do what he wanted to do because Bush ruined that opportunity. Oh yes, and my favorite, have you seen these new contraptions called an ATM machine? Obama blames job losses in the banking industry on these new contraptions!! I guess I need to find one of these and figure out how they work since I have only seen them around since the 80’s!!!!!

@Myth, Just wondering where are you getting your information from? Please provide a link or links because I would really love to read these articles. One question I have is do you really believe that ANY President can make a decision on his own, without having Congress to approve, excluding certain military excursions? Sorry but Obama did not kill Osama, the Navy Seals Team Six risked their life to perform this task, Obama promised to lower the national debt, it has only increased since he has taken office. Show me a picture of any President, touring the poor neighborhoods and standing side-by-side with the poor people.
Let us harp on the WMD that Bush told us about, noting that he was given inaccurate information on that. Obama promised to end the war if he was elected. Here, almost 4 years later, the war is still going on and will not end until 2014. WOW, 6 years to bring the war to an end after Obama told us he would pull the troops out. I call that a victory for him for getting this promise completed in only 6 years.
The true fact here is that no matter which President, Republican or Democrat, is elected to office, he/she will never fulfill the promises that was made to get them elected. I do not care who the President is, black or white or any other race, as long as they do what they say they are going to do and treat everyone equal and do the very best that they can to improve the USA to keep the jobs here, to make sure everyone has healthcare, investigate why Doctors, Hospitals charge so much for saving a life, provide protection to this GREAT LAND of OUR’s. Provide money to help create a better technology than anyone else, TAKE CARE OF THE AMERICANS FIRST before sending all this money over-seas to help those countries surpass the USA and make us nothing but a third world country, oh Lord let me stop here as I could go on and on, I would gladly support this kind of President.
I am not going to sit here and spew hate filled messages out to other bloggers because they do not see eye to eye with me. If you want to do that, feel free to because it only shows everyone else that you cannot listen to reason and pick the better President, not based on race or sex but based on the track record this person has ever since they got involved with politics.
There is good and bad in every race in this WORLD. I pray each night that God calls his children home very soon because of what is happening in this world brings tears to my eyes. It is a sad day when you have a disagreement and instead of talking about it, guns are pulled out and people are killed. Lot of the time it is the innocent child that paid the price. The days are gone when you step on someone’s toe, you apologize, shake hands and all is forgotten but now, step on someone’s toe and the next thing you know, you are being sued. How sad has America become? Very sad. Just goes to show that the end of days are near, if you believe in God. Open You eyes and see that everyone’s rights are being taken away.
